I have shopped here a few times as it is close to where we live and so far I pleased with my experiences. They have a large variety of choices on everything and seem to be pretty well stocked. I have bought some of their produce and it seemed to be pretty good. I think the prices are decent for what the cost of groceries are these days. I have bought some of the frozen vegetables that are their local brand and was happy with the quality. I did buy a few of their deli selections and did not love them, the pickled eggs were like rubber and did not love some of the salads but the fried chicken was excellent. The workers always seemed to be nice and helpful. The overall cleanliness of the store was good. It is worth a try and see what you think. read more

Careful, this place is a scam. They had salmon listed for $12 a pound for a whole fillet. I asked the guy in the back if he could cut me a fillet in half and he told me"no", you have to buy the pieces that are already cut. Next to it they had small 7-8 ounce portions for $12 a fillet. And I was like so you're forcing me to pay more by having you guys cut it for me and he said "pretty much". Won't come here for seafood again. read more

Great supermarket! We moved from Texas & miss our H-E-B but Redner's is nice too. Especially the staff. They're the only place I could find old fashioned brown paper lunch bags. I use them to make my only oil & air-pollution-free microwave popcorn. They also stock PAPAYA! Just wish they'd carry plain silk yogurt. I have to go all the way up to Middletown to get it now. Frequently has food on the shelves past the expiration dates, sometimes more than a week. The produce section has a lot of rotten fruit and spoiled vegetables. Even when you buy food that is in date, I've gotten spoiled milk, refrigerated pasta and yogurt within date that spoiled shortly after I bought it long before the dates on the package . Be prepared to check out your own groceries as there are often times no one at the check out counters. read more

Today is veterans day. I got an email from Redners which I paste: "On Monday, November 11th, all Veterans and Active Military are invited to Redner's Quick Stops to enjoy a FREE Breakfast or Lunch on us! Show your credentials and enjoy a Breakfast sandwich and coffee or a delicious club sandwich, chips and soda for lunch." So I go to Redner's and go the station where the free sandwich was supposed to be. I was told that it is not FREE but there was a 10% 0ff. You see this was meant to get vets in. 10% still gives them a large profit margin. I am posting this also at the two American Legion Posts I go to. read more

I like everything about the store in Lewis. The people are friendly. The store is clean and well organized.

This location was touted as a "Fresh Market" so of course I expected it to be more premium than other locations. While it is better, there is nothing very fresh about it. The store is new, yes, but that does not make it good. Similar prices to some of the other cheaper grocery stores, not many specials or sales, parking lot sucks to get in and out of and the selection screams: "I only eat processed foods". read more

When I first came to this area I visited another Redners and I was not happy with what they had to offer. The quality of their food was not adequate for my money. However today I visited the new one in Lewes and I feel totally different. Their produce, meals, meats and stocked shelves were very impressive! I will be returning! read more

Nice spacious produce section and bakery/cafe area. However, the grocery aisles are pretty narrow, reminded me of library stacks. Access from the highway is ridiculous. I thought I had accidentally come in a back way but when I left by the other way, it was equally bad. One way you wind around Robin Hood's barn, the other way has multiple speed bumps through an apartment area. My absolute biggest complaint is checking out. There were lines at all the human registers. OK, I often do self checkout at grocery stores, so I did that. It was hard even to find it! Hardly anybody was using self checkout either because they didn't know it was there or because it's so horrible. You know how usually the self checkout clerk just stands there most of the day? Well this one was running from customer to customer constantly as we all had problems. Every time I rang up produce, which I had a lot of, it would seem to go through but then it wouldn't scan anything else. Turns out, after every produce item it belatedly popped up asking if I had bagged the item but I wasn't noticing that. After seeming to complete an item, additionally I had to click Yes and then click Continue. I am not in the habit of staring at the screen after every item, normally I just move on to the next. I would waste time trying multiple times to scan the next item, calling the clerk, only to find out what the problem was. Clerk had only a vague explanation of it sometimes not registering. I had 14 items and it did this on half of them. It wouldn't beep or anything like there was an error. After calling the clerk THREE times, I realized I just had to watch the screen every minute and click click click. At first I thought I would add this store to my grocery shopping routine when I was out that way, but now I'm not so sure. read more

I had high hopes for Redner's when they first opened the store on Rt 9. Nice facility, wide aisles, good selection, friendly staff. i did three or four trips in a row for our regular shopping. Then I started seeing changes. Suddenly prices seemed higher on everything, to the point that it was no longer worth the distance I had to drive. Packaged produce arrived home already half rotted. Access to and from the store became annoying in its complexity. The meat section, although very large, offered little variety in each category. More than anything, our last trip found a single live cashier along with many, many self checkout lanes, and the one live cashier was in need of comprehensive retraining. I use my own bags, but she did not know how to use the bag carousel, was insanely slow, had to keep logging into the register, and did not allow the short belt to bring the items to her, leaving little room to add items. Checking out took two or three times longer than it should have. Note to Redner's and all other stores: If I'm going to check myself out and bag my own groceries, I want a discount on my purchase. Especially when I'm spending $150 or more. I like to use local and regional stores instead of the big chains like Giant and Acme/Safeway, but I still expect a certain basic level of service and Redner's has fallen too short. read more

First off, I love the store. It's clean, bright and well stocked. The meat, produce and bakery departments are awesome. They need to remove anything past the expiration date, as I have seen yogurt, cheese and milk on the shelf past the expiration date. I think the prices are a bit higher than other local supermarkets, but that is not the issue I have with the store. It's the customer service I was not happy with on several occasions and I think it has gone downhill since they opened. 1. Not enough human check-out staff, but that is the norm in my area, so I suck it up. 2. When I did use the self-checkout for a large order, I tore my shirt on a sharp metal edge near the belt and it drew blood. I pointed the sharp edge to the staff, but they were not at all accommodating or sympathetic about the incident. 3. On my last visit, there was a lady with a cat in a stroller-type carrier. I thought there was a law in my state that no animals are allowed inside where food is ? Even "emotional-support cats"? I am an animal lover, and it sounds like I'm whining, but I'm allergic to cats and certainly don't want them around my food. So, for now, I will shop elsewhere. read more

I have only one complaint here and it is significant. The dairy products (milk) are sometimes several days past expired for shelf date. I do not buy milk here. Wish they had fresher milk and also a better variety of fresh herbs. It's usually only parsley. read more

I will NEVER use the Redner's store in Lewes to buy a birthday cake, or any other special event cake at their bakery! I have ordered on two separate occasions, six months apart, birthday cakes from their bakery and when i showed up there was NO cake made. On the first occasion, they quickly had to scramble something together for me and on the second occasion they could do nothing for me. No one ever called me either times to tell me that the cakes would not be ready or made. On the second occasion they were rude to me and one of the employees in the bakery stared me down and snickered and laughed at me over the situation, while I was almost in tears. One of their managers offered to give me a discounted regular (not a birthday cake, or the themed birthday cake i had ordered) but just some random cake off their shelf. They wouldn't even take the random cake and dress it up for me to try to make it look like a birthday cake, or fit the theme of the party. Even though it was totally the stores mistake, their attitude was either take the discounted cake because that's all that they had left or not. So I chose not to take it and left. NEVER AGAIN will i use this bakery and it will be a long time before i even think about shopping at that store. read more

purchased a 16 piece chicken meal at the Redners Lewes store on Friday 12/18 and the entire family got sick and dealing with it over the last few days. will never again purchase chicken from this store. read more
