The cake and treats Igot for my dogs were so cute and my dogs loved them. I got a little whipped cream on my fingers when I was cutting the cake so I decided to taste it. It was actually a little sweet! There is no store front. You order online and you get a text with pick up instructions. Mark was very responsive to questions, and adding additional treats. I texted him when I arrived at the pickup location and waited just a few minutes for him to come out with my items. read more

All the dogs loved it, the cake was freshly made and spongy. Compared to other custom dog cakes we've ordered in the past that were dense and tough making it hard for dogs to eat. Shape could be better and the letters are a little thick and unclear. I never received a confirmation email and even checked my spam folder. History

Established in 1999.

Redondo Dog is a family owned and operated business, originally called Kool Dog Kafe. What started as a dog bakery and dog boutique quickly expanded to include dog grooming and eventually dog walking services. Owners Mark and Azalea, husband and wife, were drawn to the pet industry for their connection with dogs and their passion for sharing this joy with others. Redondo Dog has come a long way and adapted to the changing environment but its family roots remain the same. Update July 2016: We have closed our physical location. We are now offering FREE same-day delivery for all birthday cake and treat orders! We continue to offer dog walking in the south bay area. The grooming salon has been relocated. Update June 2020: Curbside pickup is available in Carson. I accept Venmo @redondo-dog, cash, or check payable to Redondo Dog. Thank you!

Meet the Business Owner: Mark and Azalea F.

Mark and Azalea were just friends in middle school but years later they connected on Facebook and became husband and wife. They were drawn to the pet industry for their connection with dogs and their passion for sharing this joy with others. Mark was helping out part time as a teenager in the boutique and the grooming salon with his mother. Mark had such a great time, he decided to take on Redondo Dog as a full-time venture as soon as he graduated high school. Many of their clients witnessed Mark grow over the years from a teen to an adult. Azalea, who was focused on her children and career in the fitness industry, realized her fondness towards animals at an early age. She now channels her enthusiasm into dog walking and assistance in the grooming salon in her spare time. Mark and Azalea were married in 2013 and have started a growing family of their own, including children and pets.

Every time I walked in, the humans here knew my name and acted excited to see me -- which, as you can imagine, is exactly the level of celebrity treatment I deserve. The place was super clean, safe, and smelled surprisingly good for a building full of dogs making questionable life choices. My parents also loved getting updates and photos of me living my best life while they were away pretending to miss me. (Jasmine, Christina, Ericy, Iliana takes the best selfies of me!) By the time I got home, I was completely exhausted from all the fun, zoomies, and pampering from the staff. 10 out of 10 I would definitely board again and cannot wait until my next visit! Our first time using them as we get our dog groomed every 3 weeks so not much to do but clean up. $90 for such little work and small dog. Our dogs rear end still had hair that was not trimmed. We were given high recommendations from our family but we will most likely go back to our groomer its worth the travel time.

Stale bakery items on multiple occasions. My dog wouldn't eat them any of the times. I'm not sure how long their baked items sit in the display but I won't buy the baked items again. Wanted to return for a refund but no returns accepted for a refund. I ended up baking dog cookies at home which were fresh and soft. My dog loved baking at home and now I have a new recipe up my sleeve for dog treats. We celebrated my pups birthday with a pack of dogs and I shared my own baked dog cookies which I decorated myself. I made it more fresh and special. No more baked items from KoolDog for us. read more

Called with super short notice for a cake - usually, I bake them on my own, but didn't have time for this particular birthday. Mark was very friendly, and I was able to pick up a cute cake (small size) within a few hours. The process was really easy and price reasonable. This was an amazing shop dedicated to dogs!! I loved stopping by and seeing all the treats, cakes, clothes, leashes, beds and more. The groomer and staff were incredible as well. I brought my pug, Chloe, in on Thursday 4/23 at 4pm. I've used their $80 grooming service three times prior with no issues. This visit was a completely different experience. I was told the service would take about 50 minutes. When I arrived, the groomer was still not finished, and I waited an additional ~20 minutes. The groomer (I believe his name was Drew) explained that he had cut one of Chloe's nails too short, which caused it to bleed for an extended period. I was obviously concerned, but still paid and left a tip and left. Since that visit, Chloe has developed multiple bumps across her body that appear to be a reaction to the products used. She has been extremely itchy, reluctant to walk, and has had a decreased appetite. This has been ongoing for several days. I reached out to the business to address this, especially as some of the bumps began to look worse. Despite explaining the situation, they declined to take any responsibility. I was also told they rotate between different grooming products depending on the groomer, which was concerning given that Chloe had no issues during her previous visits. I explained that I may need to take her to the vet due to the severity of her symptoms and that I didn't feel comfortable covering both the grooming cost and potential vet expenses given the outcome. Their response was that they would not provide a refund and the only thing offered was to return the $10 tip. Based on the other negative reviews, it appears that the owner is hard to work with and also lacks accountability. If you look at the attached screenshots, i still decided to disengage when she mentioned she was expecting. Regardless, she should have delegated her business to someone else while she is going through something extremely important while instead coming off as dismissive and lacking empathy. I'm very disappointed with how this was handled. Additionally, it took multiple days to confirm my appointment, and I had to follow up the day before to ensure it was still scheduled. Based on this experience, I would not return. Take a look at the screenshots and you be the judge.

So I asked if we can get refund and if there is a vet bill can they pay for it, then the guy in the phone said okay. So they did issue a refund of the grooming fee. During this phone call process I was being very polite. I said if you injured my dog then it's common sense you have to do something to compensate me. We love going to your place and will continue go. 4. Because I believe it was just an accident and since my dog has been used to go there, I called them again for another grooming appointment. But the front desk lady kept on telling me there is no availability for my dog to go and would call me back later after she check for availability, but they never called me back. I called them many times during their business hours and even left a voice message, still, no one call me back. From this experience I realized these are their problems 1. No any policy of any kind of injury happened during their service for customers. They seem do not have any insurance cover any in store injury compensation. 2. Lack of professional customer training. The front desk people does not know how to deal or talk to customers when any injuries happened of the dogs in their care. 3. The grooming process is not transparent. As the customer we do not know who is actually grooming our dogs. The grooming progress is all behind the glass of back side of the store where we see nothing of what they do.
