Unfortunately, we waited quite a while to be acknowledged, while the bartender seemed much more interested in chatting with who I'm assuming were locals sitting at the bar. Eventually, an older woman came around the corner and asked her to come over and help us. The bartender rolled her eyes and then made a very inappropriate gesture, pretending to put a gun in her mouth with her fingers, before walking over to us with a smile as if nothing had happened. My husband and I own a bar/restaurant ourselves, so we completely understand that everyone has bad or frustrating moments while working in this industry. But I felt like this was completely unacceptable behavior, especially right in front of customers. It's certainly not something we would accept from someone working in our establishment. We had our drinks and left shortly after. It's too bad because the tavern seemed like it could have been a really fun place to spend the night, but after witnessing that interaction, we were completely put off and didn't feel like staying.

The side of mac and cheese out of this world I had potato wedges topped with cheese, bacon and scallions. So good. Best part - I had rented a hotel that was 45 Min from Cooperstown. Oops. The dad and two other locals eating at bar helped me tremendously in finding new lodging. They gave me Many options. Turns out I rented a beautiful house on the owners' property up a small Hill. They said I could pay them after my stay. I'm from Detroit so this small town trust warmed my heart.

I don't think it's had a single exterior repair or improvement since I was 8 years old and lived in the area. Many many moons ago. The interior is ok. It has a nice little bar with bar foods. The drinks are cheep and the bartenders are friendly. There is some lounge seating that seems semi-private for a conversation. The local pool league seems to play here and can be entertaining. Otherwise, not much to look at. I do see locals come in for a dinner with family including children before the twilight hours. After sundown, I can easily imagine that this place can get pretty rowdy. Wild West.
