I've been coming to Red's since it opened. What I love about this place is the caring "feeling" you get from the food, the employees, and the establishment as a whole. This is a good ole' family run business. The burgers are high quality and the service makes you feel like Norm from the old TV show Cheers. This place knows your name. And it's apparent by the long lines on some days that I'm not the only one who feels this way. I've tried Rodeo Goat, the supposed king of burgers in Fort Worth. Sorry... Most uncomfortable chairs imaginable. Went in on friday nite, was crowded. Could not get the person behind the counter to answer a question- she had to go clean a table & return to the back. I wonder, what does a tattooed tear under each eye signify? The menu is crowded, confused & extremely busy. Many items had no descriptions. Pricing was at a level you would expect from a high end gourmet joint. My wife & I -2 burgers, fries & a Dr Pepper=$28 Ouch! I got the "grain-fed beef" $2.00 xtra, don't bother. It took 1/2 hour to get the order & they could not get the 2 burgers out at the same time! The meat was smashed with no flavor. The buns were old & toasted hard to crumbling. I was in the area for training and didn't know where to go for lunch this burger place popped up when I put in nearest restaurants and man am I glad it did. I ordered the veggie burger and sweet potatoes fries I was hesitant at first when I seen the price for the burger thinking it was to much for a frozen veggie patty well let me tell u it had a homemade flavorful grilled taste and the size was big very delicious !! One of the few and better eateries in Azle. I liked the old time atmosphere. I tried the homemade lemonade and it was just okay and pleasant and seemed a bit watered down. I requested the grass fed beef {for a little more $) and it was a nice, though average burger. We also had the match stick onions, which were a bit too thin for me and a bit on the greasy side...but we didn't leave any behind. I am always grateful to see a restaurant that seems to care what they are producing and put their own home made spin on it. This is a very good burger. You can tell it's cooked right, packed with flavor and the French fries are stellar. Parking is a bit suspect which is the only negative, awkward moment of a neighbor business came into the restaurant and told someone to move their car. Really good burger joint though! read more

I drove over 50 miles to see what all the hype was about all over Facebook. I found some great tasting burgers, not too greasy - just right! Staff members are all pleasant and the atmosphere is very comfortable. The building used to be one of Azle's first drugstores and also served as a TV repair shop for many years. Be sure to look at some of the ol' photos near the soda machines. Looking forward to the next visit, might even try a shake with the burger! read more

So the hubby and I decided to celebrate our 2 year anniversary by hiking and burgers in Fort Worth. I know, not quite traditional, but we wouldn't have it any other way. Anyway, after a beautiful hike around Eagle Mountain Lake, we set out for a certain restaurant on the lake who's name I won't mention (haha) and it turns out they were closed. Bummer! But no fear, Yelp is here ;) I simply looked up the closest burger place with the best reviews and found Red's. We were in luck, indeed. Red's surprised me because for a big-city girl like me, Azle was quite a shock in size. I honestly didn't expect much when we drove into town but I was pleasantly surprised. The building is very modern and clean, very inviting. The staff are all super-friendly and sweet. I ordered a traditional cheeseburger with fries and the hubby had his with blue cheese and bacon. Needless to say, we both absolutely loved our burgers. I wouldn't say they were the best "ever", but they were definitely finger-lickin-good. Oh, as were the fries. They were out of the Ruben Sliders, so, disappointed, I ordered the BBQ chicken sliders. I was very pleasantly surprised! The chicken is pulled, the sauce is vinegary and sweet and full of awesome, and the slaw is homemade and fresh. My friends all loved their burgers, and the fries were excellent. Let it be known far and wide that they have root beer on tap! They have good quality made-to-order burgers, a nice reuben sandwich and some tasty shakes, but did I mention they have ROOT BEER ON TAP?!? The atmosphere is friendly, though I don't take advantage because I'm usually placing a carry-out order. The upside is that while I wait I can enjoy a root beer on tap, did you know they had root beer on tap? Root beer on tap makes me happier than videos of puppies kissing kittens. They also have affordable draft beer for dining in, which makes it a good after work spot. Red's is a lovely addition to Azle's downtown and I'll be going back for a burger the next time I'm in town, but they had me at root beer on tap. read more
