    Cheeseburger and fries
    Steve A.

Found this spot on Yelp while looking for a new burger place to try near my office. Positive reviews and I like to try new spots...let's go! Location is on a corner, can be kinda tricky if you've never been here before--just something to be aware of. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Immediately upon walking inside I knew I was in for a good burger, it smelled like a cookout.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Checking the menu they have various burger options, but no set combos, so you have to "build your own". No problem. I had a standard single-patty cheeseburger and fries with a drink, total of $14...about the going rate these days. Food took a little bit to be delivered, but I knew it was being cooked fresh as I could see/hear it cooking while I was seated. Service was excellent, as I was asked if I needed my drink topped off or would like peanuts while I waited. For a counter-order location, I was impressed. Food arrived and it was time to eat. Burger is pretty good size for a single patty, and it was fantastic! Grilled perfectly, cheese was melted, fries were crispy and hot. Definitely one of the better burgers I've had in awhile...AND I'LL DEFINITELY BE BACK. Glad I gave Grumps a try today.

Great burger! And loved all of the things here. Sweet TEA was delish and they even serve beer, margaritas and Southern Slush! Service was great with lots of friendly faces.

Went here on a suggestion. Grumps did not disappoint!! First time visitors and if we go back to the area we will def visit again. We got there and the parking lot was packed - good sign! You stand in line to order. Staff was friendly. They also have free peanuts. The kids there seemed to really enjoy that! I ordered the bacon cheeseburger and added grilled green chili's. I was so excited to see that as an add on option because it's been a while since I've had a green chili burger. The bacon was cooked good and I liked it with the chili's. We also got one of their specialty burgers. Can remember the name - think it started with an R. Hubs liked it. Burgers were really cooked well. The onion rings were so good. Can't always get a good onion ring at a burger joint. These were on point. Only thing we didn't love was the fried pickles. Husband thought they were a little thin. They weren't that bad though. We tried the jalapeño ketchup. Hubs liked it. I was concerned it might be too hot for me but it wasn't. It was good.

Great burger and Onion rings. Beer was cold. Service was fast and friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The place is comfortable.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Easy parking. Great place for quick yummy burger and beer. I think with tip, burger, onion rings, Corona..... it cost me $20. Place is comfortable and burger was good.

I've been a regular customer of Grump's Burgers for a couple of years now. And man, let me tell you, this place is the real deal. Understand that burgers are MY comfort food. When I'm blue, I want a burger. When I'm happy, I celebrate with my favorite burger. My favorite menu item is always a burger. I'm a Texan, I'm an American, and burgers are just part of my DNA. So when I tell you that Grump's is a real deal wonderful burger joint, I'm judging it against a lifetime of Kincaid's, of every top tier burger place in Fort Worth. And let's be honest here, there are plenty. Grump's has proven to me time and time again that theya re the real deal with amazing burgers. They are always made to order, theya re always cooked to perfection, and they are incomparably delicious. This place is wonderful and it is, without peer, my favorite place to eat. I cannot give them enough recommendations. I cannot, with words, praise their burgers enough. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The atmosphere is pretty standard Americana. Plenty of detritus on the walls, fun little things like a "Christmas Story" lamp and a giant neon sign. Peanuts to snack upon as you wait.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] About what one expects from an eatery. But the product itself is always the star. The burgers are cooked to order. The fries are amazing but if you want something else, they have onion rings and tots and the like. The drinks are top tier since they offer Dublin sodas on their fountain. The best root beer you will ever taste and amazing soda and diet soda and the like. You WILL hit up the fountain again before you leave because it's wonderful. I also need to call out the staff who runs the place. They cannot be topped by any other restaurant. Friendly, nice, eager to please, and most of all welcoming and fun. I cannot recommend this place enough. If you like a Hamburger, Cheeseburger, etc, you simply cannot do better than Grump's. Get in here and live the dream!

Pretty good for a burger joint! My burger was cooked to medium well (they all are) which was perfect! Nice and juicy. The beer was ice cold, the atmosphere gave off a retro vibe 80's sports/garage theme. You do need to walk up and order your food, but they serve it to you. The staff was friendly and checked in on us from time to time. We finished off our meal with a scoop of ice cream! Since everything is fresh to order, it can take sometime to get your order however, they offer shelled peanuts to curb your appetite. The cons: Everything is a la carte, which is fine but I had expected the side of fries and onion rings to be a lot larger considering price point and ability to share. Fries were ok, Onion rings were good! Overall it is a great place and we will go back!

Well, I was over by Grumps doing some laundry, and I decided to get the place another try for lunch while I waited. When I arrived about 12pm there were about 8 people in line and it took me 15 mins to get to the counter, when I finally got to the counter I ordered the guacamole hamburger with cheese, onion rings and a Ziegnbock draft which cost $16:47 and was told 18-20 mins wait. It was warm inside and I ended up waiting 21 minutes, the beer tasted watered down, the cheese on the burger wasn't even melted, and again there's just nothing special about the burger itself. Definitely not worth the overall 36 minute wait just to get it. The onion rings were good but just your every day beer battered most likely frozen onion rings, ranch was good. Unfortunately this review did not improve from the original and I can honestly say I seriously doubt I'll be returning to Grumps. If you're in the neighborhood looking for a good burger J's Casa is right across the street ‍

Yum yum yummmm! Kid and I hitting up our "G" restaurant, so we decided on Grumps since we've never been and we always like a good burger. I have been wanting to try this place for a while, and they did not disappoint. We arrived a little before 11 and there were already people waiting outside, so I figure that was a good sign. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is decorated with all kinds of different pictures, signs, and neon's. It's much larger inside than I thought it would be, with plenty of seating and some TV's playing sports.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Kid ordered the queso burger with a side of fries and a drink. I ordered a cheeseburger swapping regular onions for grilled with a Southern slush (bourbon & coke). The guy at the register was nice and let me taste a sample before committing, which I thought was very nice of him. Everything is ordered a la cart, so there are no combos. I think the price point is pretty decent for what you get. There was a little wait for our food, but it wasn't terrible. Food arrived fresh and hot. My burger was cooked well and was very tasty! I do wish there had been more grilled onions though. Kid liked his burger too, but most of the queso ended up in the container. That was ok, because it made a good dip for the fries (I stole a few). The fries were hot, seasoned well, and were crispy on the outside yet fluffy on the inside. Will definitely come back and bring the hubs next time.

BBQ bacon cheeseburger with jalapeno bun and spicy fries

I've been here a couple of times now, but it's been a while year since I reviewed it, so wanted to update. Usually it's pretty good, but this time I had to remove a star because this time everything was so salty and the bacon wasn't so crispy this time. Otherwise was pretty good, but with the insane levels of salt, made it really hard to finish my food. The jalapeno bun was good and grilled perfectly and the veggies and BBQ sauce were great as well, but the food being that salty made it not as great as it would have been. The spicy fries were already insanely salty as well. I'll def be back and hopefully next time will be at good as the previous times *Reply to the manager*. It was Tuesday (6/13) around noon. I got it to go and sat in my car so could listen to my music while eating in the parking lot

Not to be confused, this is Grump's Burgers

Fantastic choice! The menu is very "urban hipster" vibes. Plenty of burgers, lots of fun appetizers, charcuterie, one of my friends has some dietary restrictions and they were easily able to accommodate her needs which made us all very happy. This spot has a great bar in the front, and a smaller bar in the rear of the place. Outdoor seating as well as covered seating. Plenty of shade as well which will serve their patrons nicely in the coming Texas summer months. This is also a dog friendly dining spot, plenty of people were there with some amazing canine companions (always ask before you pet a strangers pup, it's just polite and courteous. Almost no one says No!). Assuming you don't have a dog allergy, this will hopefully be a feature. There is a relatively new apartment complex across the street and I get the feeling a lot of the people stopping in were regulars who bring in their dogs during walkies and grab a bite before heading back home, but that is just pure conjecture on my part. Either way, it was a fun inviting atmosphere. The music was nice, not too loud for my old man ears to enjoy but still present enough to be part of the evening without being intrusive. Staff was very nice, helpful, friendly, etc. Everything one would expect from a fine Texas eatery. Lots of spicier options on the menu if you're into that, but by no means anything overpowering. My guess is the owner has stock in some jalapeno growers farm somewhere and the food is all the better for it! If you're in the area already or if you're thinking of branching out for a nice new burger spot, this place is great and I will be returning. I live nearby so it'll likely become part of the regular rotation for us in the coming months. We are spoiled for choice in this area when it comes to good burgers being close to Grumps, close to Kincaid's, and close to Tommy's up on Camp Bowie. But this place competes on good burgers and if you're looking for a fun hangout atmosphere, you'd be hard pressed to find better. Easily recommended! Give them a try, I don't think you'll regret it! Cheers!

After visiting last Sunday, I followed their social media and saw they were hosting a jazz band…read morethis week. I called a girlfriend and told her I'd found a new spot: wine, charcuterie boards, and live music. Sounded like a perfect evening. When we arrived, a young employee did her best to find the hostess and get us seated. After a few minutes, she honestly seemed more flustered than we were, she apologized and offered to seat us herself. We got settled, I ordered a margarita, and then I noticed a large dog roaming around. No leash, no owner in sight. (Later found out the owner owns the bar, the regulars are very familiar with the dog) I looked down at the menu, then looked back up, and the dog was literally face-to-face with me. We got up to leave immediately. A dog-friendly patio? Sure. That's completely fine. But allowing a dog to freely roam throughout both the outdoor patio and the covered upstairs area is baffling to me. (My last visit a dog was on the table, I assumed the young staff just didn't know how to approach the situation, but tonight shows this is how Hideaway operates day in and day out) When I explained my concern to the waitress, she said she understood and asked me to close out my tab for the one margarita I had just ordered and hadn't touched. No ma'am. I'd been there less than ten minutes, and for me, this crossed a line. Clearly, some guests enjoyed it. I saw people petting the dog and calling it over. Different preferences, and that's their choice. But mine is different. I won't be back, and if I recommend this place to anyone, it will come with a warning: dogs aren't just allowed here- they appear to have free rein of the space, whether that's on tabletops, near your food, or directly in your personal space, whether you want that interaction or not.
