Their fryer was absolutely killing it!
    Tony R.

Great food, exactly what I was craving. The burgers were cooked to a perfect outer caramelization and inner temp. Fries were cooked at the right temperature and pulled exactly in time to make them the perfect crunch. The chili was a bit heavy on the chili powder or other seasoning. But it's a nit. My only regret is I didn't get a chance to sample the shakes. Cool bus to dine in, a picnic table or take it to go.

Best burger I've had since I've been here the last 2 summers! The location is an order at the counter type spot, and you can eat outside or inside the converted school bus. It was comfortable and plenty roomy although this place does get busy, so I'd recommend planning ahead if you have your mind set on sitting inside the school bus. The burgers are generously sized, and they don't skimp out on the toppings. I had the jalapeno burger and it was one of the spicier jalapeno burgers I've had, and I've had my fare share. Definitely recommend a milkshake, especially if you order the jalap burger!

This spot had lots of fried things (chicken, fries, onion rings) and burgers and not a ton of vegetables. We really enjoyed eating in the bus which had cute animal footprints and local animal info on the walls and ceilings. We ordered from the counter and they called our number to pick up so limited encounters with staff.

We really wanted to love this place. The bus is so awesome and quaint, the customer service was so good, all the reviews were spectacular and I loved the menu choices too! Unfortunately the quality just missed the mark. I ordered the Red's burger and was excited at the idea of eating warm ham and cheese with my burger. But the burger patty itself was just weird. It was thick and super dense and just had this texture like it wasn't a homemade patty. I mean maybe it is homemade it just didn't taste or feel that way. Plus, I got none of the ham flavor. My wife had the garlic burger expecting the burger to have like a garlic aioli spread or something. Nope, she literally had a whole entire layer of raw minced garlic slathered on her entire bottom bun. No kisses from her that night lol yikes. The chili cheese fries were good but beans in my chili is an instant . Beans in chili should be served in a bowl with a spoon not on my fries. I know it's a picky preference, just thought I would mention it. Maybe you can go see for yourselves. Maybe I'm wrong. I still think there were some really nice people working there and loved eating our lunch on a bus.

Husband and I had lunch here will sightseeing. Hubby got the bacon cheeseburger and fries. I got the chili with cheese. My husband liked the cheeseburger but not special, but is a solid burger. Chili was good but not very spicy. Was still good and hit the spot on a chilly day. We would visit again.

Great Burger, fun setting! Huge burger, comes with fries. Definitely enough to share!

This is the best meal I had in Seward. The burger price is higher than what I'm used to but it was delicious. I got Red's #1 with maple bacon, grilled ham, onions, mushrooms, jalapenos, cheddar and swiss; contains all the ingredients I like. There was a bit of a wait but overall, I think it is worth it as I didn't have great experiences at other restaurants in Seward. I ordered a oreo shake and it was wonderful on a sunny day!

My wife and I both love Halibut and were looking to try some fresh caught, while our cruise ship was docked in Seward. We strolled up town a couple of blocks from the Alaskan Sea-life Center and saw that Gold Rush Bistro had some on their lunch menu and decided to stop in. Surprisingly there was no wait at 12:30 (lunch time) their smiling staff were happy to see us. We were greeted, seated and able to order very quickly. That being said, the place started to fill up pretty fast. As we waited, the lady that was sitting next to us when we sat down, had a god awful amount of perfume on, after a few minutes of choking, we politely as to be moved to another table and were happily accommodated, no hassle at all. I've had Halibut many times in the past, but none have been as delicious as the Garlic Halibut that they serve here. One word, OUTSTANDING!!! The decor inside was beautiful, with a homey wood vibe (see pics). Looking out the front window there was an amazing view of some of the surrounding Mountains. If you find yourself in Seward and are a little tired of the food on your cruise or just happen to be in town for another reason, I would highly recommend Gold Rush Bistro.

Today I remembered to do all the things including take pictures of my food. I walked in and was seated immediately, I chose to sit at the bar because it's just easier and the chairs all have better cushion. After seeing another patron eating a burger i decided to order one too! Great choice. I had the jalapeño burger with bacon jam and man was it delicious. The burger was a perfect medium well, the brioche bun was perfectly toasted, the white cheddar cheese was the perfect complement to the slightly sweet bacon jam, the bacon was crispy, Smokey and not greasy. The only complaint was the slice of tomato that is out of season and tasteless. I mean it is Alaska after all. My seafood chowder which I paid an additional $4.00 for a cup was okay but whatever, the burger made up for it. All in all it was a great experience and delicious meal. Because it was the middle of the afternoon on a weekday, the place wasn't as packed and noisy as it can be sometimes. The ambiance was super relaxed today so I sat and ate inside. I absolutely loved the gluten-free coating on the halibut since I'm not a fan of tempura-style batter. The bartenders were really friendly, and the food came out quickly and smoothly. The interior is also super cute, kind of an old-school lounge vibe with lots of velvet. There's a neon sign that says "city where the fun shines," which adds to the fun atmosphere. Such a great dinner spot in Seward.

We were hungry and we could choose all the well-known tourist eateries and pay big bucks, or we could go into Alaska Seafood Grill for a more quiet, family-friendly experience. Walking in at 12:40 PM, we saw that we needed to order at the counter and they would bring the food to our table. There were some open tables, so we did not have to wait to be seated. We reviewed the items on the chalkboard menu above the ordering counter. I don't eat seafood, but luckily they offered a BBQ Bacon Burger with fries. My wife ordered seafood chowder. We also ordered a side of onion rings and bought a brownie for later. I found the burger and fries to be very filling and tasty. My wife enjoyed her chowder. We both liked the onion rings, which were NOT greasy at all. The brownie was soft, chocolatey, and VERY good, just the way we like it. The inside of the restaurant is definitely not what you would call a high-end environment.
