Chili Cheese Fries with all the fixings!
    Danielle I.

If you are looking for an old school classic burger and fries this is where you need to go! The prices were good and the atmosphere is exceptional! The whole place encompasses nostalgia. We had two double bacon cheeseburgers, an order of chili cheese fries with all the fixings, and a vanilla malt for $30. Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

Wow, what a place. This was our first time eating at Red's one of the guys from work had suggested it so my husband and I decided to go after work a week ago and we are really glad we did. When you first walk in you're greeted by a waiter and asked if you have ever been there before if you answer no they tell you the history of Red's including the fact that they are the first fast food restaurant EVER and they are proud of that fact it's pretty cool, next your senses are overtaken by the memorabilia all over the walls, the 1950's decor it's like stepping back in time it would bring great memories to my father's generation. Then we come to the meal can you say " Oh My Cheese" That was amazing I had a single cheeseburger with no pickles add BBQ sauce and extra onions and it was pure perfection I had onion rings instead of the french fries they were some of the best I've had, I was impressed. My husband ordered a double cheeseburger with everything and loved it he got the french fries and said they were very good. We watched as other things came out and the portions were very large and might I add very tasty. Well worth the money I would say a must-try you won't be disappointed, oh ya you must try a small ice cream to top off your meal. Great Lunch Thanks Guys!! We will be back!! It's definitely a Plus 5, wish we could go higher but it won't let us. Again Thank you.

Not a bad value overall. Generous portion of onion rings with the combo meal.

Hubby & I decided to visit Red's for a weeknight date. I was reading the reviews and heard a mix of opinions. My single burger was pretty good - not a lot of beef but that's to be expected for a single. Comparable to Freddy's or Steak & Shake burger size. Maybe a little bigger. The caramelized onions were a nice touch! Bun was a little plain but slightly toasted. I dipped my burger in the fry sauce to give it a little more flavor. Yum! The onion rings were AWESOME! Generous portion for a side included in the combo. Really crispy! Not too oily or overly seasoned. Just right. I wish I had ordered a whole bucket of them! Hubby's fries were hot & somewhat reminded me of 5 Guys' fries but a less seasoned/greasy. Overall a pretty good experience. We might have to come back and get chili on our fries and ice cream for dessert!

Very good. We split the giant hamburg and an order of fries. The perfect thing on a cold winter day. Going for the Frito Pie next time. A must if you're in or near Springfield MO!

How to get your sauce at Reds
    Brent R.

The hamburger is tasty. That is the only thing good about Reds. The restaurant itself was disgusting. No one was cleaning. They had open ketchup and sauce containers that people had to scoop with plastic spoons on to napkins. Food was all over the tables and floors. We ordered at 1:30. We got our food at 2:45. There were 5 to 6 staff. 1 was taking orders. 2 we're cooking. The rest we're talking and worrying about other things, other than getting food to customers. When confronted about the time, the staff had a very bad attitude. Don't eat here!!!!

I'm so glad I took their advice, the buns were soft and buttery, the meat patties were flavorful and moist. We also ordered you are smokin' fries. Apple and hickory smokes fries, loaded w/ sautéed jalapeños, cheese sauce, and we opted the pulled pork with Chipotle bbq. The fries were a hit at our table! Waygu burgers, sign me up! I end up ordering the foodie - double 4oz patties, Boursin style cheese, caramelized onion, candied bacon, w/ truffle mayo. Best damn burger I had in a long time. They offer varieties of sauces to try with your burger & fries, they bring a small tray with each sauce. Ranch, ketchup, smoky garlic mayo, chipotle BBQ, chipotle ketchup, truffle mayo, and sriracha mayo just to name a few. I'm a sucker for espresso so I ordered an espresso yourself shake. Espresso, salted caramel, funnel cake, coffee liqueur, frozen vanilla custard. The espresso and salted caramel balance each other out nicely. This shake lives rent free in my head. If I am ever in the city again, this would be on my top list to visit. Definitely would recommend you trying Black Sheep.

I will not drag the competition, but Dublin's Pass was the clear winner. I won't use specifics, but you get so much more bang for your buck, purely from a financial aspect. Let me first say, the eggs arrive on a plate with a light breading that adds the perfect balance of crunch yet balanced with the soft egg. All brought to you with a mustard that is the perfect combination of pickled veg and punchy mustard. The meat was cooked perfectly. The combination between the meat, egg and mustard marry one another beautifully to lend to a flavor roller coaster in your mouth. What really sets these Scotch eggs apart is the attention to detail. They taste like they are meant for a flavor rollercoaster. Each element feels intentional. Whether you're a longtime Scotch egg lover or trying one for the first time, this restaurant sets the bar high. Simply put: these are the Scotch eggs other places should be aspiring. Eggs aside, we also had an order of the boneless wings. Not a hard thing to get right, but we had roasted garlic parmesan with garlic aioli, to die for. Unfortunately, I left disappointed because the food quality just wasn't what I remembered. I had been telling my wife how great the food used to be--almost like gourmet bar food--and was really looking forward to sharing that experience with her. The smash burger no longer tasted like the duck-fat burger I remembered, and the fries definitely didn't seem to be house-made anymore. They tasted more like a lower-quality frozen product, which was a letdown. On the positive side, the service was excellent. Even with the restaurant getting busy and a live band setting up, the staff stayed friendly, attentive, and on top of everything. One thing to note is that we initially arrived around 12:45 p.m. on Sunday, only to find out they weren't open and was told that something came up and they didnt open until 3:00 p.m. on this Sunday. Overall, I still enjoyed the atmosphere and appreciate the great service, but I hope the kitchen can get back to the food quality that made Lindberg's one of my favorite spots in the past.

Let's start with Service - inside it was fast freindly, helpful and informational. Enviorment - modern no music playing or background sounds other then the cooks which was ok but a little ambiance music would help. Restrooms - Older building with modern upgrades so bathrooms were clean but hot not ac cooled like other area of the restraunt. Food - Now to the main courses. The fries were good crispy and hot with aioli soda products chosen were good nothing tasted over carbonated or flat. The bbq brisket sandwiche was beyond amazing and itself even re heated to eat later was a star if only I had taken one bite hot and fresh if was over the scale great 10 out of 10.

I'll review this Hy-Vee next. ;) Our order was taken immediately by a friendly staff member and we were given a number stand for the table so they could identify us to deliver our food to our table. Then my lunch partner and I found a seat in the Hy-Vee seating area which looks like a mid-range restaurant seating area with faux leather seating and wood tables, fireplace and floral arrangements that you can purchase from Hy-Vee. It's also right in front of the bar area at the entrance to their liquor section. This Hy-Vee has a full bar and bartender! It took over 20 minutes to get our food and I went to the counter to ask about it and was told they were waiting for the onion rings to finish cooking. The onion rings were well worth the wait and were the highlight of our lunch. Fresh from the fryer, thin and crispy with their light batter, they were simply fantastic. Not greasy at all. Every bit as good as they say they are on their reality TV show. I ordered the Original Frim Dorchester (O.F.D.) burger which contained double patties, swiss cheese, sautéed onions, bacon and tomato jam. I also asked them to add sautéed onions, which they forgot but quickly corrected when I asked about it. I thought the burger was really good with all of the toppings. I didn't notice that the beef was especially flavorful. The tomato jam was the bomb and they really did a good job in sautéing the onions so they were nice and caramelized. My only complaint would be that my top hamburger bun was smashed on one side like someone sat on it. LOL! It didn't affect the flavor though. :) My lunch partner ordered the chili cheeseburger and he did not like chili at all and scraped it all off. He wished he would've ordered the O.F.D. I will definitely be back for those onion rings and to try another style of burger as well! Nice visit and I took a photo with the cut out of the Wahlburg boys, but I'm not going to post it here. Haha! Nerd alert!
