Chili Cheese Fries with all the fixings!
    Danielle I.

If you are looking for an old school classic burger and fries this is where you need to go! The prices were good and the atmosphere is exceptional! The whole place encompasses nostalgia. We had two double bacon cheeseburgers, an order of chili cheese fries with all the fixings, and a vanilla malt for $30. Can't wait to come back and try more items on the menu!

Wow, what a place. This was our first time eating at Red's one of the guys from work had suggested it so my husband and I decided to go after work a week ago and we are really glad we did. When you first walk in you're greeted by a waiter and asked if you have ever been there before if you answer no they tell you the history of Red's including the fact that they are the first fast food restaurant EVER and they are proud of that fact it's pretty cool, next your senses are overtaken by the memorabilia all over the walls, the 1950's decor it's like stepping back in time it would bring great memories to my father's generation. Then we come to the meal can you say " Oh My Cheese" That was amazing I had a single cheeseburger with no pickles add BBQ sauce and extra onions and it was pure perfection I had onion rings instead of the french fries they were some of the best I've had, I was impressed. My husband ordered a double cheeseburger with everything and loved it he got the french fries and said they were very good. We watched as other things came out and the portions were very large and might I add very tasty. Well worth the money I would say a must-try you won't be disappointed, oh ya you must try a small ice cream to top off your meal. Great Lunch Thanks Guys!! We will be back!! It's definitely a Plus 5, wish we could go higher but it won't let us. Again Thank you.

Not a bad value overall. Generous portion of onion rings with the combo meal.

Hubby & I decided to visit Red's for a weeknight date. I was reading the reviews and heard a mix of opinions. My single burger was pretty good - not a lot of beef but that's to be expected for a single. Comparable to Freddy's or Steak & Shake burger size. Maybe a little bigger. The caramelized onions were a nice touch! Bun was a little plain but slightly toasted. I dipped my burger in the fry sauce to give it a little more flavor. Yum! The onion rings were AWESOME! Generous portion for a side included in the combo. Really crispy! Not too oily or overly seasoned. Just right. I wish I had ordered a whole bucket of them! Hubby's fries were hot & somewhat reminded me of 5 Guys' fries but a less seasoned/greasy. Overall a pretty good experience. We might have to come back and get chili on our fries and ice cream for dessert!

Very good. We split the giant hamburg and an order of fries. The perfect thing on a cold winter day. Going for the Frito Pie next time. A must if you're in or near Springfield MO!

How to get your sauce at Reds
    Brent R.

The hamburger is tasty. That is the only thing good about Reds. The restaurant itself was disgusting. No one was cleaning. They had open ketchup and sauce containers that people had to scoop with plastic spoons on to napkins. Food was all over the tables and floors. We ordered at 1:30. We got our food at 2:45. There were 5 to 6 staff. 1 was taking orders. 2 we're cooking. The rest we're talking and worrying about other things, other than getting food to customers. When confronted about the time, the staff had a very bad attitude. Don't eat here!!!!

The lady working working the drive-thru window was incredible rude and combative. The burgers were dry and flavorless.

What evidence do I have to support my contention? I'm glad you asked. Exhibit A, and without question the restaurant's Pièce De Résistance, is the lentil chili. Now, I know what you're thinking - chili is supposed to contain meat and only a communist would proffer such a vaunted title on a vegan dish. Right? I used to think the same way, but the delicious balance of chili seasoning and fearless heat of Pickleman's take on this classic makes it one of my go-to late night dishes when I'm hanging out downtown. Exhibit B is composed of the salad selection, which features options to suit many tastes, all of which contain genuinely fresh vegetables in addition to their specific peculiarities. That may seem like a simple thing, but seasoned salad eaters know it can be rare, indeed. It may seem weird to lead off a review of a sandwich and pizza place with two options that are neither, but I've honestly never had any reason to venture beyond that side of the menu because they're both so delicious. And that they do those things so well is more than enough reason for me to juice their rating, whatever failings other reviewers have experienced notwithstanding.

    J. Parrino's Queen City Deli -- "More Than What Meats the Eye"…read more It's no wonder why J. Parrino's Queen City Deli is more than what meats the eye. The name behind it, Joe Parrino, is a renowned St. Louis restaurateur known for blending Italian tradition with classic St. Louis-style soups, sandwiches, and pastas -- and that mix absolutely shines here in Springfield. From the outside, you might not think much of it. But as they say, IYKYK. This is definitely not a book to judge by its cover. Tucked on the east side of Sunshine, it's the kind of local gem you'll want to keep in your lunch rotation. I started with the Milo Salad, and wow -- thick cuts of salami and pepperoni, fresh cheese, crisp lettuce, crunchy homemade croutons, and a perfectly sliced hard-boiled egg. The dressing took it to another level -- creamy like Caesar but with a tangy vinaigrette twist. Honestly, I almost forgot to take a photo because I couldn't stop eating. And that garlic breadstick? Fresh, soft, and buttery perfection. Next up was the Parrino Special, their house sandwich -- prosciutto, salami, and incredibly tender roast beef stacked between garlic bread buns and topped with a house salad. Every bite was a dream: the crunch of the bread and salad with the tenderness of the meats created layers of flavor and texture that just worked. Pure happiness between garlic bread. The team here is friendly, fast, and full of good recommendations -- you can tell they care about what they're serving. If you're looking for a local spot that nails the trifecta of soups, salads, sandwiches, and pasta, Queen City Deli might just become your new favorite lunch stop.

I end up ordering the foodie - double 4oz patties, Boursin style cheese, caramelized onion, candied bacon, w/ truffle mayo. Best damn burger I had in a long time. They offer varieties of sauces to try with your burger & fries, they bring a small tray with each sauce. Ranch, ketchup, smoky garlic mayo, chipotle BBQ, chipotle ketchup, truffle mayo, and sriracha mayo just to name a few. I'm a sucker for espresso so I ordered an espresso yourself shake. Espresso, salted caramel, funnel cake, coffee liqueur, frozen vanilla custard. The espresso and salted caramel balance each other out nicely. This shake lives rent free in my head.
