    Beef Wellington appetizer
    Judy S.

Stopped in for dinner recently on a Saturday night. Hubby wanted lobster bisque and their special beef Wellington appetizer. He liked the flavor of the soup but it had only a little of lobster bits on top. His beef Wellington was cold and he thought it would be hot. So they took it back and he got crab stuffed shrimp instead. He enjoyed that. I got fettuccine with bacon and clam sauce. It was delicious! Lots of whole clams plus the minced ones. The bacon made it extra good. Our drinks were fine. Staff were pleasant and professional. We got there around 5:30 and it wasn't too crowded, but it was packed by the time we left. The place is clean and we could park easily across the street.

Solid seafood bar and grill. Huge beer list and tons of items to choose from on the menu. We had the clams appetizer, shrimp cocktail and some raw oysters & clams. Everything was good, clams and oysters were all fresh just a tad sandy. My mixed seafood spaghetti was really good and a generous amount of seafood, i'd get it again for sure! Very solid dinner option if you're in the area

Went to Point Lobster in Point Pleasant, NJ What a gem! Point Lobster hits all the marks -- live band, great vibe, incredible food, and top-notch service. Crab cakes, Clams Asparagus, Sautéed Spinach and Fried Calamari were great! The atmosphere was buzzing with energy, but still relaxed enough to enjoy a night out. The seafood was fresh and perfectly cooked (as you'd expect from a place with "Lobster" in the name), and the staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel right at home. Whether you're coming for the music, the meal, or the beach-town feel, Point Lobster delivers. Can't wait to come back! Thinking next Sat!

PROS: Friendly staff, live music, rustic atmosphere, good food, prices were decent, menu variety plentiful CONS: The coffee was warm, not hot. The bathroom was extremely cramped and the service was slow OVERALL: I would definitely come back here, but I don't recommend getting the coffee

We drove by this restaurant on the way to our beach house, and we both knew we wanted to eat here. Very cute on the outside, located in a cute little shopping district. (We happily did some clothes shopping next door after we ate) We both ordered lobster rolls and split the bisque. Everything was good. But nothing had the wow factor. Lobster roll could have used a little more butter and the roll wasn't toasted much. I like a bit of crunch to stand up to the lobster. The bisque was creamy and loved that it was topped with lobster pieces. Overall happy with the service.

Nice lighting and clean. Very busy. We ordered fish and chips, point lobster roll, and chicken franchise with rice. The fish was fresh, and perfectly cooked. It was fillet and not your typical frozen fish. The point lobster roll was delicious. It was better warm than the typical cold that I have had. The chicken franchise was tender. We substituted rice instead of linguine. Overall the place was great. Would definitely go back again.

New Orleans style oysters are in NJ!!!! Food is amazing. Most come for the lobster roll however - stop the presses!!! Charbroiled oysters are amazing. NOLA style and fantastic

The dining room is boisterous and lively, making it a great environment where both families and adult parties seemed to be having a wonderful time. For drinks and appetizers, I started with a lychee martini and ordered the crab cake appetizer as my entree. While the flavor was good, I've honestly had better crab cakes elsewhere. My fiancé ordered the surf and turf, which was perfectly prepared. The real stars of the meal, though, were the sides and dessert. We ordered the roasted brussels sprouts and the baked mac and cheese, and we both absolutely LOVED our sides. To wrap up the night, we dived into the peach cobbler special--it was incredible, and I would easily go back just for that! Overall, it was a fantastic evening with great energy, amazing sides, and a standout dessert.

I started with French onion soup which was sooooo salty. Flavor strong but salty. My Partner got the crab cake. They did enjoy that. So I got the main entree of filet tip carbonara. The meat was cooked well which I was okay with but should have been medium well. The pasta sauce again saltier than would like. I guess this is why there is no salt and peppers shakers on the table lol. My Partner got the skirt steak and fries. Again he enjoyed both but prefers his own marinade. Bottom line this place is more than your average place cost wise. Knowing how to cook and get a piece of filet mignon for $14.00 at ShopRite and a skirt steak for $25 at best and do it yourself doesn't justify the cost. The atmosphere was ok little dark, we did get a nice corner table. Otherwise tight seating. Our server was super polite and gracious for our tip. So overall if you have money to spend on okay food you won't be disappointed. Would I come back? no.

Scarpiello wings -- sticky and savory perfection. Could've made a made off this alone! Entrees: Pan seared scallops with polenta -- the scallops were nice and tender and seared very nicely. Linguine & clams with red sauce -- very generous with the clams and the sauce was flavored very well. Cheesesteak -- tender, juicy, huge portion and served on amazing bread. Deliciously cut fries too. Drinks: Berry loca margarita -- not even a big marg person and I loved this. Spring fling sangria -- my friend downed hers! Today we were asked to leave because my disabled husband has a service dog that alerts him when he has an episode. This is a legitimate trained service dog. For eight years, she has accompanied him everywhere: doctors, dentist, outpatient surgery, hospital and nursing home visits, banks, restaurants, commercial passenger flights. Her behavior today was exemplary. She has a defined space she remains in, and the only time she makes a noise is if she needs some water or to go outside, or if her person is having an episode. The bartender was polite about stating that the new owner is firm on animals being a health risk. I'm fairly certain the manager on duty actually made the decision. The owner has been in the industry for decades, and should be versed in the Americans with Disabilities Act, which they just violated. It's only federal law, after all. If a guest purports to have a service dog, and the dog behaves inappropriately, the establishment has every right to refuse service. But blanket refusal is a serious violation and can result in fines. Plus, you are doing a disservice to your employees by training them incorrectly. Two more bars out of our rotation, because they own the Windward in Brick as well.

We went out to eat twice while there, once for dinner and once for lunch. I will review both places using this as my intro to the reviews. For dinner, we ate at Jack Baker's Wharfside, which I also see listed as The Wharfside Seafood & Patio Bar. Frankly surprised it has very average ratings, as I would not say that was our experience on Tuesday night, August 4, 2026. It was reasonably busy and likely explains the somewhat slow service. We were 4 adults and a toddler. We had a few cocktails; all were reasonably good and fairly priced. There were also a few glasses of wine with the meals from a decent, but not extensive list. Everyone had seafood, including the toddler, which included the spicy garlic shrimp appetizer that was a crowd pleaser, and main courses that consisted of snow crab, mussels, shrimp, scallops, and lobster. i was the only one to have the lobster bisque, which I thought exceptional, as it had a creamy consistency and loaded with lobster chunks. There were no complaints though about any of the dishes and we were all happy customers. The prices were reasonable considering the fare and the location, especially as the patio featured a live band, We dined on the patio, but far away from the band, so the music level was pleasant, having seen some reviews suggesting it can be a bit much. It would be hard to complain though about the scenery, as the patio faces a calm channel that leads out to sea. All in all it was very a successful evening. I felt this rated a solid 4, understanding some would rate it a 5, but difficult to understand why anyone would place it lower than a 3.

If you are coming later in the season, I would try to reserve. First up -- some nice slices of warm crusty Italian bread and butter. I ordered a cocktail special - the Kelle Belle (or similar) which reminded me of a Pimm's cup. La Portena had her usual Riesling -- no complaints. Lobster bisque was one of the hits, the typical rich broth, with the not so typical actual lobster meat - small bits to be sure, but so often there is no lobster at all. We also shared a lobster roll as a starter - it was good but I would have preferred larger chunks of meat - the roll was accompanied by some tasty tortilla chips. Next up, a complimentary salad - this was fine. I ordered soft shell crabs - they were perfectly fried meaty specimens but the french fries and cole slaw seemed like afterthoughts- the plating was haphazard. La Portena's flounder stuffed with crabmeat was a better plate overall. Two fresh small filets, stuffed with a savory filling and some good mashed potatoes. The glass of New Zealand sauvignon blanc I chose to accompany the crab had the strongest grapefruit nose I have ever experienced. I know these always taste of grapefruit, but this wine was over the top. No room for dessert. Our server was warm and pleasant, and the entire experience transported me back to shore dinners with my parents in the 70s. I would return.
