I'm very impressed with this place. At first I did not want to go in because for me was just a "wine" bar, after my husband convinced me, a very nice guy welcomed us. The place was not busy, a feel people at the bar. They have a huge selection for wines and they know what they are selling. We ordered shrimp ceviche and 2 more entrees and they all taste really good. The place is clean. We went to Reds for the second time last night and had a great time with friends. We were with a pretty large group (8 people) but there was plenty of room for us. It was Saturday and there was a string duet playing which was a very nice ambiance while we were visiting. We had just eaten dinner so did not try any food, but the menu items that I saw come out for other tables looked delicious. I ordered the Crisp & Clean flight which was 3 white wines. I enjoyed them all. It was $12.50 for the flight which I thought was reasonable. It would be nice if they carried a flight that had a mix of red and white wines - I didn't see one like that on the menu. My fiancé doesn't care doe wine and he enjoyed the beer selection they have too. Our waiter was friendly and attentive and kept our waters and wine glasses filled. Minus the lack of any originality in the name of the establishment, this wine bar (with a handful of craft beers) is actually a worthwhile visit. They have a good selection of Vinos, and I saw that many people came just for the dining (food) portion as well. The manager is an extremely graceful host, and he'll do his rounds to check in, explain the types of wine to your palette, etc. It is loud inside, the acoustics of the building has some amplifying effect so you'll want to sit closer to your company than not. The outside seating was all taken, because obviously it was the best seats in the house. The only thing that was weird was that we came right before 6 pm and was handed their happy hour menu by the server, to which the manager took it away right after checking in with us because it was 6 pm on the dot. Way to be a tease! I ordered the Mr. Smooth's Choice flight and the Reds platter. I only enjoyed the Pinot Noir out of the three, which is weird because I love Merlot, Bordeaux, and earthly flavored wines. The Reds Platter was perfection. read more

My favorite spot in Kent, and probably even the South Sound. Good eats are the chicken penne pasta and any of the burgers. They have a ton of events here (wine tastings, trivia, paint and sip). They bring a wine maker once a week! They have an affordable wine club too. Service and atmosphere are top notch! read more

If I could get this less than one star I would. We came in tonight on a Friday at 10 o'clock they decided to close early even though this site and the signs state 12am and informed us that they didn't have any food because they let the cooks go because it was slow and we were told "we don't want to rush you out though , but we're going to close up right now we can get you a quick glass of wine." We came with our 2 kids under 10 and I made sure to call ahead to make sure the restaurant was kid friendly (since it's called 'wine bar'). Yes, kid friendly so we got there around 1 on a Saturday. There was one other table occupied, otherwise totally empty. Waitress was very friendly and sweet. Menu is short and simple, dare I say a little too short? We ordered the bacon jam burger, chicken pesto papparadelle and the pork tacos (see photos). The food was good, but slightly overpriced (for example the burger was $16, really should have been a few bucks less). The bartender basically ignored us for a good bit of time before she acknowledged us and even then didn't smile at all she was very unfriendly. So good! This is a wine bar, but it's never snobby. Lots of reasonably-priced vino, both to drink and for sale. Fancy stuff, too, if you're feeling prosh or are looking for a gift. They stock a fairly even split of local and world wines, which I really appreciate. Beer selection is quality, but very limited (3-4 taps?). The owners are usually somewhere around, and they just love to chat and give you down-to-earth recommendations based on your tastes and wine experience. When I stopped in for the first time, management was telling me that they really wanted to pull in customers from the college campus upstairs. To this end, the food is great, inexpensive and ample in portion, and they have free wifi. They used to have some great sofas next to the fireplace, but I haven't seen them lately: probably a testament to the startling success of their live music nights (think good KMTT cover bands). I've been to some tastings, and they are self-paced and really lovely. I'm guessing their new classes are much the same. read more

We had a Christmas party here several years ago, the service and atmosphere were great, we had a fun time. Not the case this time around. The server and hostess were rude, no attention to our table, and made our group seem like we were not wanted there. No introduction from the server either, took about 20 minutes to get drinks out to the table, drinks started coming out after the food. You would think for a large group they would be a little more prepared to serve and cater to our reservation, but we all felt like they couldn't wait until we were gone. Gave this place a try. Ordered the Garlic Shrimp Liguini with broccoli, tomato, parsley, and parmesean cheese. Requested extra creamy. Dish came with no sign of anything but liguini, steamed shrimp without seasoning, broccoli, and forensic signs of garlic. Cream sauce nonexistent. What appeared to be an attempt at a sauce was a quarter cup of skim milk. No sign of salt or pepper. To save this dish I suggest tossing it in your skillet, add butter, cream, garlic, parm cheese, and top with freshly ground pepper and salt. The guitar player was excellent. I was really impressed with my most recent visit to Reds. I was torn between a flight of wines and a glass of champagne, and when I asked my waitress what she would recommend, she suggested the champagne without hesitation. It was the right choice. Although I eat mostly vegan at home, I stick to a vegetarian diet while I'm out at restaurants for a greater variety. Even then, I'm used to having only one or two items to choose from, especially in the suburbs. I asked the waitress, who happened to be a vegetarian herself, about my options, and she was excited to tell me about the changes they've made to their menu. They used to have a disappointing selection for vegetarians, but they recently swapped out all their cheeses for varieties that don't contain animal rennet. This gave me about half the appetizer list and two entree options to choose from on their reasonably small menu. I didn't have a large appetite, so I chose the mushroom bruschetta to compliment my champagne, which was a great, light balance between sweet and dry--another recommendation from the staff. After having such a great experience, I was sad to see how dead this place was on a weekend evening (Sunday). If we want to see less chain restaurants in Kent and more awesome businesses like Reds, then we need to be intentional about supporting them. I'll definitely be back! read more

I didn't have any wine this trip, but their selection seemed nice. We had the truffle popcorn, which was pretty heavenly. We also split the bacon jam burger, which I was hesitant on because bacon jam sounded odd. Don't let that fool you, it was probably in my top 5 burgers of all time. Damn delicious!! The place was very welcoming. The two waitresses were not super attentive, but they were friendly. The man that was helping us was super attentive, quick, and extremely welcoming. This place is only a month old....I discovered it last night after an email hint from one of my neighbors. Reds has only been open for one month and when I walked in the place was thriving! on a Tuesday night at that! I was instantly impressed. It's a bit tricky to find since its on the backside of Kent Station, but well worth the search. When you walk in you get a warm cozy feel, there's even a fireplace and sofa to cuddle up on if you want. They have a few walls of wine options if you choose to buy a bottle. Most of which are not on their menu. I got a cab flight and a red blend flight (both not on the menu). For food Nick (the owner) suggested the cheese and meat platter (not on menu yet), spinach and orzo salad and the flat bread. The Orzo was excellent and so were the cheese and meats. The flat bread with mozzarella and marinara was good, but I expected more of a flat flat bread instead of toasted slices. It was cool to see that they even had a beer sampler. I'm not a big beer person, but I was tempted to try it. Maybe one day. The people are friendly, the atmosphere was just right and most importantly the food and wine were good. I even saw a few bottles on the wall of some excellent choices I've had before. It's obvious that this place is still going through a lot of start up changes (good changes). Like adding things to their menu and wine list. It's definitely going to be a hit and a must try if you're in the south end. It's going to give Vino at the Renton Landing a run for their money for sure. Oh yeah, forgot to mention that the prices are very affordable. Great Job! Came here with my mom on for a girls afternoon. It is such a darling, charming little place. The wine list was creative. Although the prices are high. We both ordered entrees along with our wine. Finally a wine bar in Kent, located in Kent Station the new retail center in the heart of Old Kent. A cozy feeling place with great food. Try the assorted cheese and meat dishes. The service is overall good but I think being only there for 4 month they are still getting the hang of things but a very friendly staff. When the place is busy it is hard to find a seat but otherwise hit the bar stools at the bar you can always find a seat or two. Great area with couch and fireplace for comfort.
