EXOTIC FRENCH CUISINE right here in Normandy Park! This is as close as you will get to fine dining anywhere in or between Burian and Des Moines. The place is small and located in a strip mall, but step inside and you will feel like you're at a fancy restaurant in Paris. The wine list is extensive, the service is attentive and professional. The food is delicious. I had the Duck special, that came with a special sauce and delicious crispy skin. My wife had the Tagliatelle w/ Saffron Cream Sauce & White Prawns. We both loved our meals. For desert we shared these small, what look like cream puffs with chocolate sauce but are filled with vanilla ice cream! This is a great spot for a date night. They don't do breakfasts or lunches, just dinner,, i recommend you make reservations as this small restaurant is often packed. There is also a small bar you can sit at first come, but I recommend the sit down experience and you will feel like you are at a restaurant that costs twice as much. This place checks all the boxes. So five stars! Cheers!

This is a very welcome addition to the food and beverage scene in and around Normandy Park. It's a small, 28-seat place sandwiched between the Pizza Hut and Normandy Park Pets and, as of this writing, does not have a big sign up yet. Despite that, the place was nearly full on Friday night when my wife and I popped in for a glass of wine and some nibbles. Our server, Krissie, came over shortly after the hostess Emma Jean (her daughter) seated us and brought water and silverware. The wine selection is several notches above most of the restaurants in the area with offerings from Spain, Italy and others complementing a few carefully chosen domestic wines, with prices I'd describe as very reasonable. We chose a Bodegas La Cana Albarino and a Gini Soave Classico, both whites, to accompany rosemary cashew bar nuts and the Peyrassol house olives. Could not have been better. On a prior visit, I enjoyed a charcuterie board with cabernet from Washington state and enjoyed both. They also have antipasto and salads, small plates and desserts. I would describe Peyrassol West as upscale but still friendly and accessible. It can get a little loud when it's busy but there's a great vibe to go along with the great food and drink. I encourage you to give them a try!

A year ago Peyrassol closed in Renton. At that time my heart was heavy because Peyrassol had been my neighborhood restaurant - the place I went to regularly for years and would have been there for many more had Sachia and Scott had their way. Now Peyrassol has return with a new twist! Located in the Burien / Normandy Park area, in a strip mall being neighbors with QFC and Pizza Hut Peyrassol West has opened. Peyrassol West shares a few traits with its predecessor - it still has Sachia's delectable menu and Scott's assortment of wine. It still is a French / Italian influence and the food is excellent. The location is much smaller than Peyrassol was and Peyrassol wasn't very large. This isn't a restaurant I could envision bringing a group. It is small and petite, more structured for couples than groups. There are two four tops and two larger tables and then all the rest are meant for two people. There is a bar! Peyrassol didn't have a bar so Peyrassol West having a bar is nice! I didn't sit at the bar, but I know I will one evening. All this to say reservations are encouraged. The decor is simplistic and minimalist - the vibe is more wine bar than intimate restaurant. The food is all small plates. Now, I am not going to knock small plates. It is actually nice to be able to order appropriately sized meals. My friend had the wild foraged mushroom soup and he loved it! I ordered the lasagna and it was super - wage thin noodles, cheese, meaty goodness. For me, it was the perfect size. Then we split the raspberry upside down cake and it was amazing! Sweet, fluffy cake, perfectly moist, absolutely delicious. If small bites mean more of Sachia's pastries than count me in! Only drawback that I experienced was how loud it became. When we first arrived it was at 70% capacity and was loud but I still could hear my friend and him me. By the time we left it was at 95% capacity and my friend couldn't hear me any longer. They may benefit from curtains or fabric hangings for some material to absorb the noise levels. Peyrassol West opened for its soft opening. There isn't any official looking signs out front yet, but you can find them between the Pizza Hut and Paws in the Park.

I can't wait to go back! My new happy place not far from home. Friendly service and quality dishes, the door was open and the aroma carried me in!

This restaurant is amazing! EXCELLENT FOOD, great beer and wine, and awesome service. I'm so glad they opened near me! I will be back to enjoy wine and snacks with my girlfriends, and definitely more dinners with my husband. We had NYE dinner here last night, and I am blown away by the food. PATE IS RIDICULOUSLY GOOD, as well as the gougeres and the desserts. I told our waitress, that was the best pavlova I've ever had - seriously! Great atmosphere; relaxed and thoughtful.

We came by after happy hour at Anthony's and listened to a live set of great music. The place was packed, but everyone is friendly and was willing to share their table with us. We had a great time and I strongly recommend coming by the Quarterdeck to chill and listen to live music. Can't believe it took me 20 years of living in Seattle to find this place. So, don't repeat my mistake.

Quarterdeck is what I like to call a "come for the vibes, stay for the drinks, eat... somewhere…read moreelse" kind of place. I stopped by while visiting Seattle and while the food situation was a bit chaotic (they had rotating menus because they were out of a few items), I ended up ordering a kimchi-inspired sandwich that I wanted to love...but it just didn't do it for me. Not inedible, maybe a 2/5, but I'd definitely try something else next time. My friend ordered what I think was the Garden Harvest Wrap (a staple on the menu), and that was more of a 3/5. Both dishes were served cold (intentionally), which I think made a difference, I could totally see them being much better if they were warm. Now let's talk about what is worth it: the mimosa flight. SO good. Like dangerously easy to sit there, sip through all of them, and forget any minor food disappointments. But honestly, the real star here is the ambiance. You're right on the water with the most effortless, breezy, coastal energy. Boats drifting by, sun hitting just right, people lingering over drinks--it's giving main character energy in the best way. I found myself wanting to stay way longer than planned and even doing some work while there. This is absolutely a spot I'd come back to, just with a strategy: eat before or after, and come here to sip, sit by the water, and take a little walk on the dock. 5 stars for the vibes alone

And with the bad, I strive to be positive on the experience that was good before giving suggestions or letting the owner know what fell short. I'm never out to bash a business. Rather, as an owner, if you pride yourself in customer service, you will take what a sincere Yelp Elite reviewer has to say, step back and see how you can improve. I just read the comments another reviewer posted a few days ago and saw that they were berated as well. I had nothing to gain from giving the review I did and it's unfortunate that you're no longer going to be in business, but there were two other people with me that came to this consensus. With that, I will reply to the unfortunate remarks slammed at me, the reviewer. Let me preface by saying I asked for a pic with the owner before tea service started. If it was said that we had a wonderful and lovely time, it was not by me but one of my friends who, when asked how everything was, couldn't think of anything else to say. Also, I wasn't going to express all of this in front of the owner at the time because I had others with me. So, to rebel and ask me if my mother is still alive and did she teach me to behave like this? Well, all I can say is your reaponse as a business owner is extremely childish and unprofessional. I didn't make the food. I reviewed it and if that means it's not the best review, so be it. It pains me not to give a business owner a good review because that's not what we as Elite members strive for. That said, lashing out is not the answer. At least I have the maturity and diplomacy to put these comments in without getting into a mud fight like you chose to do. Review..... My two girlfriends and I came here for afternoon tea. Since I'm the Yelp reviewer, I asked them for their input and so it was a consensus of the three of us. Here's what went right. It was nice to have a carafe of water at our table, there were beautiful flowers and dyed water to match in the vase, the teacups and saucers were very pretty, the owner was extremely nice. Here's what we thought needed a second look. The sign in the store advertised cheese and fruit for the afternoon tea but it didn't appear. When we asked we were told it didn't come with it but we could get some if we wanted. Please revise the sign as people do notice. Suggest you have a selection of three sandwiches rather than two of each. One was a small croissant filled with egg salad and if we hadn't been told that we thought it might be chicken. The other was a cucumber sandwich which although it's nice to have thin slices of cucumber, these were razor thin. Sort of disappointing that there was so little on a beautiful piece of bread. They scones were nothing special. Perhaps have something inside whether it be cranberry, currant etc. The sweets consisted of a Mexican wedding cake which was rather dry and was there a detection of almond extract? The orange macaron, as beautiful as it was, lacked flavor of orange. I was expecting a nice burst of something but it just wasn't there. The fondant on the petit four was much too thick, and sweet. Whatever fashion the raspberry is used, keep a bit of that tart flavor to offset the sweetness from the fondant. The effort was there, things just felt short.

Extremely disappointing experiences at Le Grand Comptoir on two separate occasions…read more My first experience occurred when my flight was significantly delayed until late in the evening. The restaurant was still actively serving guests, with numerous people eating and drinking at the time. I politely asked the bartender for a simple soda water. Instead of offering any explanation, alternative, or basic courtesy, he immediately refused service. There was no effort to help, no kindness, and no acknowledgment that I was a stranded traveler dealing with a stressful delay. Several weeks later, I returned during normal business hours and unfortunately encountered the same employee. This time, I simply asked for a cup of ice. Once again, I was told no. He stated that he could not provide a cup and that I would need to sit as a customer before he would provide ice. When I asked what other options were available, none were offered. The interaction felt exactly like the first one: rigid, dismissive, and completely lacking in hospitality. Thankfully, the manager was present during my second visit. After taking some time to think about how I wanted to handle the situation, I obtained a cup elsewhere in the airport, filled it with ice, and returned to speak directly with her. She listened to my concerns, apologized, and was able to help immediately. That experience highlighted my main concern. The issue is not the ice. The issue is not the water. The issue is not even the policy. Businesses have policies, and I respect that. The issue is that it should not require a manager to fulfill a basic human need or to show basic human kindness. Travelers passing through airports are often exhausted, stressed, delayed, dehydrated, dealing with medical conditions, rushing between flights, or simply trying to make it through a difficult day. Hospitality matters in those moments. A simple explanation, a respectful response, or an effort to offer alternatives would have completely changed both interactions. What stood out most was the complete absence of empathy, hospitality, problem-solving, or customer care. Being told "no" is one thing. Being treated as though your reasonable request is an inconvenience is another. I am genuinely surprised that after so many reviews mentioning service concerns, management has not been more successful in addressing the underlying customer-service issues. Looking through the reviews, it is clear that I am not the only customer who has left feeling disappointed. I appreciate the manager taking the time to listen and assist me, and she deserves credit for handling the situation professionally. Unfortunately, the fact that management intervention was required at all is precisely why I am leaving this review. You should not have to seek out a manager over something as simple as a cup of ice or a glass of water. Humanity can do better than this. Airport hospitality can do better than this. And travelers deserve better than this.
