It was extremely dark, my cell phone had died due to severe picture-taking at aforementioned family gathering, and there aren't any gas stations for miles down this damn road. As soon as I saw the Chevron sign, I pulled up in a panic. They had JUST closed, and the attendants had just locked up. Luckily, Hayley took pity on me, and turned on the air pump. Then, after watching me fail miserably at trying to pump air into my own tires, she took on filling up all four of my tires (turned out that ALL of them were dangerously low) while being incredibly friendly and understanding of my ignorance. If it wasn't for Hayley, I am not sure how far I would have gotten without blowing one or four tires. Hayley, you saved my bacon, and most likely the bacon of many other's. I hope a manager of some sort sees this review, because you truly went above and beyond your job duties. Thanks!

As for my local experience, the Shell Loop is poorly operated. The pumps, car wash, air, and windshield squeegees are always out of order without notice or repair. Craziest thing however is the employee interaction. I recently bought some milk and a Superlotto ticket. The cashier demanded I show my ID. I'm 60 and he argued it was California law to show ID for the lottery. Complete BS unless the buyer looks like a minor. This is never asked at other Loop stations or lottery ticket retailers. Maybe it's a scam to see names and home addresses? I called the Loop corporate office, but no one ever answers. It goes straight to voicemail and they never call back. No response to email either. There are years of complaints on Yelp for this location. It's clear management is part of the problem, not just a few bad employees.

It was around 915-930pm, and there were a few cars getting gas. The first thing I noticed was the cash and credit gas prices are the same. Then after my Valero card got accepted, the pump didn't give me the 10 cent discount. That's the incentive for using the Valero card at a Valero branded station. OMG, they got me. No discounts on gas. This station takes advantage of it's location right next to the freeway on-ramp. $5.49/Gal Reg was about avg that day, so no biggie. Better to get gas for a fairly long drive home. But next time, maybe I go elsewhere. Otherwise, this new Valero station has some nice features: - Star Certified Smog Testing Station - Repair/ Service garage - Snack Shop - Propane & Ice - Restrooms It's a average sized station.
