BEWARE! They have transferred platforms to the corporate Dyper platform and have handled it terribly. 1) The transition was managed terribly. They only had one person handling all comms and processes who was way overwhelmed but at least responsive. I had a bad feeling about this and emailed multiple times to confirm my gift card credits from our baby shower would be transferred over. After multiple assurances and follow ups, they never did it and lost access to the old platform. Luckily I noted our remaining balance in our emails so there was a record of it. Otherwise I can't imagine the back and forth I'd have to deal with. This first week of new service, the driver never completed our pickup despite marking it completed on their tracking link they provided. I had to write in to customer service (no more live telephone support which was available before) to find out the drivers are now contractors who do not have access to my gate because they don't have the key I originally provided when signing up for service. There were no notifications or comms about this. So we have to wait until next week with bags piling up. 2) The delivery service fees are up about 40% if you are a new subscriber. Prices go up for me after this year. 3) To purchase diapers at close to the same price as the old system, you now have to order a monthly box! And they do not accept open boxes for returns. The old system let you customize your weekly order and adjust packs based on need. You could also return individual unused packs for credit. That is no longer allowed. It's so obvious are or consolidating operations to cut costs while all aspects of the service are now worse for customers. read more

Please don't use this service. They were great in the past; we used them for our first baby from 2022-24. They got acquired, laid off drivers, they underpay gig workers, miss pickups. It's a mess. It was a good concept but someone saw a potential for a lot of profit, exploited it, and it's not a good service any more :( read more

Adding my warning to the pile: the good reviews for this service prior to June 2025 do NOT reflect the current state of affairs (after Earthbaby/ReDyper got taken over by Dyper). The switch from weekly to monthly deliveries is obnoxious on its own (imagine waiting a MONTH after realizing it's time to size up) but reliability has also taken a dive; I just now had to run out to Natural Resources to pick up extras because of delivery delays. Such a shame; this was a great service with a great reputation and it looks like they decided to just burn it to the ground. We're moving to TinyTots ASAP. read more

I have had the same experience as Lawrence K. I am in Campbell and since the transition 2 weeks ago the service has plummeted with Dyper taking over for DyperSF/ReDyper. Pickup was missed for 2 weeks in a row, the first week our information was not transferred like was promised, and the second week (yesterday) they refused to pick up any diapers due to it being more than 6 bags. This was due to them missing last week's pickup, it was never mentioned in policy, and the driver had the audacity to send an email stating items were picked up! There is now no phone customer service, all communication is via email only, our unopened diaper returns have been lost with credit lost, and prices have gone up. read more

We miss Erwin!!! Dyper/Redyper has gone astray by firing their drivers. I used to be a happy ReDyper (formerly EarthBaby) user, but no longer. We subscribed for nearly 4 years. Our driver, Erwin, was the best person for the job. In the depths of the pandemic, when all other supply chains were broken, Erwin kept on cheerfully showing up every week with fresh diapers and a smile on his face. I used to cross paths with his van around town, and we'd both honk and wave and smile because we genuinely felt happy to see each other. He was an important part of my childcare team. Now they are outsourcing to a third party gig service for pickups, and deliveries come through the ridiculously high-carbon route of fedex (instead of being delivered concurrently with pickup, as they used to be). I wonder how happy these gig workers are to be driving around with sacks of baby poo in their personal vehicles. Maybe that's why I get weekly emails asking for ratings and tips -- presumably, Dyper saves on payroll by not paying a decent wage, which is kind of...poopy. I've cancelled my subscription. Really happy with this service. I was seceptical about it at first. But the process is seemless, the quality of the diapers are great. The overall value is very reasonable for what you get. 100% would recomend them. Only thing is they seem to run a bit small. Missed pickups multiple weeks in a row due to our pickup instructions being ignored, higher costs (particularly starting in 2026 when current customers' composting service fee will nearly double), very little flexibility in placing product orders. I am not crunchy granola (although I enjoy crunchy granola with some oat milk). I probably use too much water. And, yes, I sometimes still use a plastic straw for my iced mocha. Look, we can't all be perfect. However, when we first found out we were having a baby, one of the first things I googled for was "compostable diaper" -- wishful thinking. I ended up on Earthbaby's site and found out how affordable and efficient it is to go the greener route. I wish more people knew just how easy it is to choose a more (and truly) eco-friendly diapering option. Pros: - Superb customer service across social media & email - Flexible and customizable delivery schedule - Good quality diapers with minimal blow-outs (I opted for Dyper diapers and Naty wipes); my kid has never had a butt rash (this could be luck or good genes, obviously) - Excellent pricing - Super easy to exchange sizing - Timely pick-up (and my dogs don't even bark at our pick-up guy anymore so he must be a good human...unlike all the UPS drivers) Cons: - The guilt of having to actually throw away a diaper. Like, in a garbage can. - The temptation to bring home used diapers from vacation. - The smell of bringing home a diaper from a trip, leaving it in the car, and then wondering what that smell is. Basically, there are no cons. Initially, I was afraid of the diapers smelling really bad in the compostable bags. It hasn't been an issue for us as we put the full bag in the backyard. We have been so grateful for Earth Baby! The customer service is top knotch. We reached out initially when we signed up, and they set up our recurring deliveries for us. It is so convenient to leave your dirty diapers out front and magically have new ones arrive (with wipes and compostable bags!), and know that they are being composted and not going to a landfill. Our driver Irwin (apologies if misspelled), is very friendly when we see him, and has even waited for us to bring our diapers out when we have forgotten (because life with toddlers can be a bit chaotic and forgetful!). A normal person hearing about a compostable diaper service for the first time has at least three concerns -- (1) compostable (2) diaper (3) service. (1) Compostable. Ew. So, you have to keep poopy diapers in your house for a week? Isn't that going to smell? Why can't I put them in the green bin? But the reality is that you put them in little bio bags, then you put the little bio bags in the delivery sack, and your house smells perfectly fine. (2) Diapers. Dude. Compostable diapers used to *suck*. Blowouts left and right. But Earth Baby magically carries good ones, or maybe the whole industry got better, I don't know. (3) Service. What if you run out? What if you forget wipes? What if they don't pick them up? Wouldn't using grocery store ones just be easier? No, no, no, everything is great, and the people on the other side of the email are always super nice and unfailingly helpful. This is my only enthusiastic review of a baby product probably ever and I have two kids. read more

Not only does it save you from having a scramble when you are unexpectedly out of diapers, EarthBaby provides excellent value, unbeatable customer service, and a great selection of products. A lot of people are unsure if compostable diapers will stand up to normal diapers and they absolutely do. They handled nearly every blowout (no diaper would have held these blowouts) and did a great job containing smells. The diapers also caused no skin irritations. Even with the monthly service fee (which is 100% worth every penny), the cost per diaper is on par with diapers that you can buy at big box retailers. EarthBaby is great! We had felt stuck between choosing cloth diapers, which for us seemed very unrealistic under the circumstances, and disposable sit-in-a-landfill-for-centuries diapers. EarthBaby provides a great solution with their selection of high-quality compostable diapers and great service. We were worried whether compostable diapers would be absorbent enough, but our 6-month-old sleeps 10 hours straight... sure that diaper is full but his skin is dry and we've had no issues with diaper rash (could also be thanks in part to Aquaphor, our Dypers' trusty sidekick). We highly recommend the Dyper brand of diapers they carry. The teachers at our baby's daycare center have even commented on how much they like the diapers. Sure, we have the once- or twice-weekly pee leak or blowout, but based on conversations with other parents, that's par for the course with having a baby, and seems to have very little to do with the Dyper/diaper. Special shout-out to Kirsten, EarthBaby's Customer Service hero who helped us navigate some issues with one of the other brands of diapers. She's super responsive and helpful! I can't say enough good things about Earth Baby. We've been using them for over a year now and were initially skeptical of the diapers holding up as well as the standard plastic ones. Bottom line is: they do! Our newborn had plenty of blowouts from the plastic diapers we received at the hospital and Earth Baby's diapers are great. I wouldn't say better from a performance point of view, but just as good. Well woth the fantastic feeling of not adding this amount of waste to landfills. This a great option for a diaper service that is eco-friendly and very easy to use. We didn't like the idea of using so many disposable diapers, but I also knew that I would be overwhelmed by cloth diapers. My parents offered to pay for 3 months of a diaper service and when I priced it out (okay, so when some stranger on babycenter priced it out and posted about it), Earth Baby came out considerably cheaper than other diaper services. The compostable diapers (Naty by Nature Babycare) themselves are very good. I didn't realize until recently that you can actually buy the diapers yourself outside the service (but you can't compost human waste yourself, which is why Earth Baby is so cool), but in comparing them to other disposables, they come out very well. They are 10x more effective than Seventh Generation, and more absorbent also means less diaper rash. The service is very easy to use. You put all your diapers for the week in a special compostable bag, then put it out the night before pickup. You can change your week's diaper order as needed online. All in all, this services is surprisingly affordable for Swedish diapers that turn into farm soil. FYI--most of Marin, at least San Rafael and south, is in the covered area. read more

We decided to use earthbaby with our first so that we could have the convenience of a disposable diaper without feeling so guilty about throwing them away. Deliveries come once weekly and they take away all our dirty diapers to compost them. The diapers themselves (Natty compostable) work really well and are cheaper through this sevice than on amazon somehow. That part has been great, but what impresses me most about earthbaby is their customer service. Every call I've made to them has has been answered promptly by a really friendly person who takes care of my inquiry quickly and without hassle. One time I left an early morning message on their machine regarding an address change. I got a call back an hour later telling me it had been taken care of. The delivery guys are also super nice- I met ours a few weeks ago and he took the time to introduce himself and let us know that he always had extra diapers on his truck and to let him know if we ever forgot to order anything. He even left a note on our next order wishing us an easy move. I imagine that this is what customer service used to be like, before the era of extensive outsourcing and AI telephone systems. The Nurture diapers work about as well as no diaper at all. The side skirts let liquid right through. Multiple times we have had 3-4 wet layers during a back nap. When I called, Earth Baby didn't seem surprised or concerned much. Both the Dyper and Nurture "newborn" size are gigantic on our larger than average 3-week-old. The Nurture wipes are also dry and require 4 to do the same job as 1 water wipe. Is it more environmentally friendly to use one traditional diaper, or a compostable one plus laundering 3-4 other wet layers every time he pees? 4 of these wipes or 1 water wipe? We want to be sustainable, but these products and customer service are unnecessarily complicating the decisions. read more

There are so many reasons to love Earthbaby. First and foremost, the diapers we use are composted instead of being sent to a landfill. Diapers are among the largest contributors to landfills. EarthBaby is really as good as all of these 5 star reviews. We've been using the service for 15 months. They've never missed a pick-up, never had an order incorrect, never delayed in responding to questions. 15 months of totally easy, great service. In the first few months we flew through diaper sizes as baby was growing so fast, so I found it helpful to always have 1-2 packs of the next size on hand. Great thing about EarthBaby, they offer size exchange for any unopened packages of diapers. We've mostly used Naty diapers but have also used some Dyper, all of them have been great. We've had essentially no diaper rash problems, which I think in large part is due to using diapers without a bunch of chemicals and irritants. Highly recommend investing in an Ubbi steel diaper pail to use with the compostable bags. Costs more than some plastic diaper pails but 1. holds the smell in better and 2. can accommodate any bag, so the compostables go right in without any problem. Bottom line: every new parent deserves to have diapers delivered on their doorstep, and Mother Earth deserves for them to not sit in a landfill after they're used. read more

Want to help stop climate change? Composting is the easiest and most effective way to do it. When we found out we were pregnant, I asked myself cloth or compost diapers as I cannot fathom the idea of putting 2-3 years worth of diapers in the landfill and creating more methane in the air! Composting uses less water so we went that route. We have cranky neighbors who dont want the dirty diapers in their view for pick up, but Earthbaby, with their amazing customer service, worked with to find a solution so we can still help save the earth. The diaper quality and wipes are also superb compared to the disposal, as the diapers hold more and you have to change them less; more absorbent. All of our neighbors children wear them too! Its a fashion statement and you are part of the "cool compost club." If you want to compost and dont have the option to do it at home (waste service in your area doesnt offer it), or you just want to expand want you compost: Diapers is the way to compost! I'd say more like 3 1/2. The Naty compostable wipes and diapers they sell work almost as well as the ones that have to go in the landfill, so if you're worried about that, don't worry. It's a non-issue. I've never had any problem with the products or the reliability of the service. My issue is with the customer service. There was one time when I was out of town and forgot to cancel my pick up (you can go online and say you want to skip a pick up/delivery). Another time, I was in town but I left for the day without putting the diapers out. Now, I know I should be on top of these sorts of things, but I have a lot going on. So sue me. In both instances, I got a call from the customer service girl where she basically chastised me and acted like she personally was totally put out by the fact that the driver showed up and my diapers were not out. I appreciate it if they want to call with a friendly reminder, but they don't need to chew me out when I'm paying regardless of whether I remember to put my diapers out or not. They should cut their customers a little slack. read more

We love this company! We started out with cloth and Tiny Tots. They're a good company as well. Soon into baby's 3rd month of life it was clear we were abandoning cloth and sticking with compostables. TT has them too, but when we crunched the numbers, it was by far more economical to move to earth baby. The mark up per item with TT would bring our monthly bill far above what we pay in EB's combined fee and slightly below retail diaper pricing. Their diaper prices are even competitive with the same brand on Amazon (if you're solely looking at item costs). For another $30 a month they deliver weekly, pick up, and compost. For us, it also squashed the "which is the lesser of 2 evils diapering philosophy... use all that water to wash, or put all that trash in the landfill." NEITHER! Yahoo! This makes the most Eco sense for what we know of our community. They have averted millions of pounds of diapers from landfill, and use a fraction of the water needed for home or commercial cloth diaper washing. Also, the compost fill they create is actually used in industrial building! As for the referral program: I've convinced 5 other families to follow my move, and the families who come on actually get a better 'gift' for signing up using my name then I do as a referring friend. I like that. I want my buddies to love this option as much as I do. And a free month service fee and some diapers is a good start. Also, if it's too much hassle for them, they've only spent money on diapers. As for the Diapers: Nature Baby Care (Naty). Wipes too. We really love them. It's the only brand that doesn't give our now toddler a rash. I also I found out early in my child's life that 7thGen is now "green washed" in that the brown color is an added dye, they use super absorbers, they are not completely plant based or chemical free. The Natys are. These diapers are also at Berkeley Bowl for a few dollars more per pack. Fyi We have had a few packs where there were more defectives then seemed reasonable. I just call, tell them, and they stuff a free pack in my next delivery. Never even asked me for the bad pack in return. I've done this twice. I get a size bigger for night time and add a diaper doubler that I do toss in the trash every morning. I wish they did feminine hygiene products. That would make them the most amazing green company in the universe! Just about as gross as poopy diapers. For now my pads and 'pons will go to municipal waste. read more

I can't imagine my life this past year without EarthBaby. Outstanding customer service, pick up and delivery once a week. It's scheduled and I don't have to make emergency runs to Target. They've even made a special delivery when my mommy brain failed and I forgot to fill in a diaper order. Oops. That may have happened twice... and without complaint or blame, the diapers appeared when I needed them!! The diaper quality is excellent for daytime use- we've only ever had a touch of diaper rash, but we found that we needed a stronger night time diaper once my daughter started sleeping longer through the night. I figure that's only 7 diapers a week that we throw into the real trash. I can live with that. And the other 49 diapers are composted. I feel really good about that! read more

Not to be a jerk about it, but I'm not terribly impressed with their customer service. And I've never even had the opportunity to be a customer! Back in June of 2009, I did a lot of research on options while pregnant with our son. My husband basically said I was crazy if I went cloth and that he wouldn't do it - so I was *thrilled* when I found out about this service and so excited to be able to continue to improve my "green" habits. At the time, we had just moved from San Francisco to San Leandro. They didn't cover San Leandro at the time, but after talking to one of the reps there I was happy to hear that they had plans to expand in the East Bay. Fast forward to August 2010. I've been using Naturebaby diapers and wipe as well as biodegradable trash bags in our diaper bin for 7+ months. They have expanded to Berkeley (duh), Oakland, and Alameda. I reached out to them to see if they could go one step further, or make an exception for us (we literally live two blocks from the Oakland border). No way. She suggested that my husband or I could bring diapers to work and that could be our solution...sadly, I work from home and my husband works in Emeryville (also ridiculous considering it is IN BETWEEN Berkeley and Oakland). Oh well. I have to recognize I've done as much as I can do. And, even though my diapers are going to the landfill, at least they'll decompose a little faster than the millions of pounds of Pampers and Huggies they'll be joining there. read more

We've been using Earth Baby for our son for 2 years now. I recommend this service to anyone I know looking to have kids. The amount of diapers babies go through is insane, and the fact that I can keep these diapers out of landfills is amazing. What I think people don't realize with composting diapers is that it is JUST AS EASY as using disposable diapers. The only difference is that a service comes each week to pick up the used disposable diapers and brings them to a special compost facility. I honestly can't think of an easier way to help the environment. The customer service is also wonderful at Earth Baby. They reply to questions super fast and are great with advice on sizing, etc. The Naty diaper brand that is used isn't perfect. My son leaks through sometimes when he sleeps overnight, but I have tried a ton of different diapers and this has been the case with all of them. To me, it is such a small issue to have when I am keeping so many diapers out of landfills. I wish everyone used this service! read more

EarthBaby ROCKS! After feeling super guilty throwing what felt like millions of tons of diapers into the garbage, I tried cloth diapers. Talk about a nightmare!! Poor baby just seemed to be wet & uncomfortable all the time. And the washing was just another task on the list of the millions of new mommy tasks. I hated it. I love the service and the products (Earth Baby supplies you with Nature Baby Care, a Swedish company that makes compostable diapers, wipes and lotions). Earth Baby picks up and composts your dirty diapers and delivers all your diapering and clean up (Clean Well brand soaps and hand sanitizers) needs. The even supply all natural nipple cream. The Nature Baby Care rash cream is wonderful. So the pros to the compostable diapers? 1. They save energy and water, compared to cloth diapers which have to be washed and dried at ultra high temps, multiple times (simply washing your clothes once with warm soapy water does not kill fecal bacteria folks). 2. Compostable disposable diapers keep baby drier, so less frequent night wakings due to wet diapers and fewer incidences of diaper rash. 3. Composting the diapers keeps them out of landfills. The main con as far as I can tell, it may be easier to potty train your baby with cloth diapering. read more
