Came in today to look for clothes for my unborn and 12 month old daughters. Everything was fine until I noticed Elaina (the manager) following me around the store. Mind you not once did she ask me if she could help me at all. But every time I looked up or over she was standing around staring. Making me feel very uncomfortable. Not only did I have a 12 month old but I'm also 8 months pregnant. I ended up leaving my clothes on hold to hopefully finish shopping when she's not around. read more

I went to store to return dresses that were gifted by my friend. My friend also handover me the gift receipt. First of all, what a Horrible customer service. No one says, Hello or help on what needed. Second, they got angry when I had to return the item. Why??? Third, I never knew that my friend used her reward points to buy the gift. So when I went to return they said you will just get couple of dollars for this. I said but my friend pays a lot of me. So instead of explaining me how reward works they started shouting on me and telling me that they might need to call the security? Why...? Very bad. They are not helping at all. If I could give no stars I would for this location! Horrible horrible customer service , so bad I called the corporate office Monday morning and was told that complaints are taken but never responded to. After giving my issue to the representative a customer relations person called me to follow up.. that's how bad my complaint was obviously. My issue was how unprofessional, rude , and racist employees work at this location. We live in the bay area the most diverse area in the country.This is a representation of the company as a whole. I love this store! The staff is always so friendly and kind! Every time I come in I'm always asked if I'm finding everything ok which I find so nice to have someone ask and check in. I always have a great experience here and the atmosphere is always nice. I always have pleasant conversations with the staff checking out :). ALSO: join their rewards program because they have amazing coupons and deals :). They also offer to print your receipt or email it which is convenient for me since I always lose my printed receipts. read more

LOVE this store! The customer service is so friendly and they are always willing to go out of there way to help you or answer questions. I would get the receipt printed and emailed, both times I've been there I haven't received my emailed copy and I am 100% sure my email is correct. Fantastic new Carter's that opened up in the new plaza in Santa Clara between Sprouts and Target. It's bigger than the San Jose Saratoga location and there's actually SPACE between isles of baby clothes. The sizing selection is pretty decent - I was able to find my child's size in most of the items that I liked. It's clean, it's spacious, and the staff is friendly. This is my favorite Carter's. Rude staff, refused to take my return for no good reason whatsoever. I know it's only $8, but i'm so irritated by how I was treated and find it so unacceptable that I am ready to file a consumer complaint against the company. read more

Extremely rude manager who refused to accept my item for return for some nonsensical reason. A day later, I returned the item by mail, and it was immediately accepted and I got my refund. Waste of time going into this store and shame on this store's manager for her unhelpful customer service. Never going in here again. read more

I wish I could give a negative rating here. For the second time in a row I get the WORST customer service from the manager (!) when I return things. Really feels like she's giving you a favor. Last time it happened, I told her I didn't have a paper receipt but she could check with my phone number, she kept on telling me that I can't return without a receipt. Are you kidding me? Why do you have your rewards program then? That time, she did accept the return after ~20 mins of me trying to tell her my phone number and her not understanding what to do with it. After that her advice to me was "next time, ask us to look up your receipt for you". Who does that? Today it was yet another example of how unqualified this manager is. I did ask her to look up my receipt with my phone number, and her answer was "we don't do that any longer, the system is not working like this anymore" Really??? So she asked me to look up the receipt in my mailbox. The cashier next to her had to tell her several times how to look up the receipt in their system, basically training the manager(!) how to do things. Her reply was "oh, I guess they fixed that issue already". It looks to me the only issue in both these situations was the manager who doesn't know what she's doing or does whatever she possibly can not to accept returns or just doesn't know what good customer service is. Such bad attitude is not what I'm looking for from a store that sells kids clothes. Esp. since kids grow fast and you often need to return stuff. read more

Let me start by saying that BEVERLY is the worst employee I have ever been encountered with. We were shopping tonight for a gift for family member and I was with my niece and nephew who mind you are 11 and 8. We separated ways and the kids each got one of the rolling baskets to go find some clothes they wanted to get. That is when BEVERLY decided it would be a cute idea to snatch the baskets from their hands and tell them they don't need them. My sister proceeded to ask for the manager and inform her what was going on and how she is around children and my niece and nephew weren't doing anything except shopping and to NEVER think about putting hands on children let alone my family. BEVERLY said "she didn't care about my sisters son" and also "didn't care" about us reporting to corporate office well BEVERLY I will be reporting to a lot more than yelp so let's hope you care now. Absolute disgrace and no one of that nature should be working around children! Horrible customer service, horrible employee and even more horrible human being!!!! read more

The hours are not posted on door or yelp. I had to walk up and try the door to see if they were open, annoying. Went in one time and the ladies were pretty rude. It is a shame because it is right next to Target- it should be a slam dunk for this store. I have been to other Carter's and the staff is friendly and helpful- no excuses for this store! read more

Sad when people have a crap attitude in retail. 1. Little girl behind the counter. Get off your phone and respect your customers. Making your after work plans while ringing up a customer is NOT ok. The couple you were helping (not me) made a comment to me while walking out. 2. My daughter patiently waited for her turn to get helped. She had money in hand to buy a gift card. The second both employees were done with the one customer they both walked away from the register taking no notice of my child waiting to make a purchase. She's 9 about 5 ft tall so she can't be missed. Carters needs to get their employees in some serious customer service boot camp. read more

Really wish I could give you guys negative stars. This store has gone wayyyyyy down hill. I've had the displeasure of meeting the large girl who wears lots of makeup and has a shitty attitude. Went in weeks back and had to listen to the girl who rung me up (Kate? Cat? She looks like a boy) continually talked about how her girlfriend and her were planning to go to disneyland and hardly listened when I wanted to use my coupon. And then this week I had to go in to see the two large girls there talking and looking on their phones. Both had really ugly smirks on their faces and I'm pretty sure I waited a good five minutes at the register before they noticed me waiting for help. After, I noticed that I was the only person on the floor for a good ten mins until both of them came out of the back. Really bad customer service. read more

If only I could give them zero stars. I've been into this location several times because it's close to me home. Each time the customer service is HORRIBLE. Nobody ever says hello, asks if I need help or anything. Coming from a retail background I know that's what drives business. The girls always look angry. And one night I went in to do a return and I felt like I was bothering the girl at the register. I even tried to make small talk at the register since it was only us in the store and she was just very cold. I like the clothes but I will not be shopping at this location ever again. I went to Santa Clara's Carter store on 2026 El Camino Real to shop for my kids' clothes. Jimena was helping me. During the check out, i hand in a receipt from online order for return, and the associate Jimena immediately said, this is not the receipt! I explained to her this is the only receipt i have received from the package, she is just not listening and said this is not the format for at least 5 times. There's a bar code and order number and item number, you have not even tried!!!! I kindly ask her to scan the bar code and it worked! Jimena was extremely rude, out of patient and unpleasant to talk to. I made a separate purchase, and want to confirm if my reward number is entered, instead of confirming yes, she let me feel that i'm asking extra unnecessary questions to her. AND!!! she charged me an extra pair of shoes without double check the items, until i question her about the total. She is out of patient and unprofessional, unsuitable for retail store especially in the Christmas season when people shop for experience! Will never visit this store anymore! read more

My go to store for my daughter! Her and I are both known by one of the women who work here ! She's sweet and always asks about my daughter when I come in without her ! But the staff is always awesome, I can't tell you how many times I see something online and they always know where it is when I ask in the store. I walked in and was greeted by a sales associate named Stephanie. She was very friendly and ask if I needed help finding anything. She informed me of their sale and showed me where the clearance section was. I couldn't find the size I wanted on the floor she quickly went to the back and found what I wanted! The people who work here really care nothing about the customers. They do not help find any item ,nor are they friendly.They sometimes do not want to pass the promotional offers the company is currently running and neither do they ask you if you have any coupon. So be proactive and do not forget to scour your emails for coupons (if you are rewards member) before making purchases. read more

I normally shop at the Carters at the Great Mall, which I love because of their great selection and friendly service. But I happen to be in Santa Clara and thought I'd check out this new Carters. It was clean and somewhat organized. But customer service is awful. No one greeted me or asked if I needed help. There were 3 girls chatting at the counter. Even though no one was waiting in line except for me, it took them 3-5 minutes to acknowledge me. Finally, Doreen helped me with my purchases. She was rude and condescending. One of the items I bought was also marked as lower priced than what rang up on the register, but she didn't apologize for it. I'm never going back to this store. read more
