I went to Reece Bath & Kitchen with my designer, and from the start I felt pushed hard to only shop there. It made me wonder why, so I called to ask a simple, reasonable question: does my designer receive a commission? I spoke with Ben, who told me no, but then immediately went and told my designer that I'd called worried about a "kickback," which is absolutely untrue. That alone was unprofessional and unnecessary. Ben also promised to email me more budget-friendly options. He never followed through, likely because of his relationship with my designer. Instead of helping the actual paying customer, he protected his connection. Overall, it was a frustrating and disappointing experience. I could have easily gone to Reece on my own since their staff is usually knowledgeable and helpful, but this experience felt biased, unprofessional, and definitely not customer-focused. read more

This is a little bit of a mixed review. We dropped in to Reece's and received such helpful support from one of the sales associates. She walked us through the gallery and helped us curate a list of fixtures for our bathroom remodel. As she walked us through pricing and our options, she asked us to please see her if we were to move forward with our order, as they work on commission. She had invested so much time in us that we felt she was owed our purchase. She told us we should expect a call from her on Monday with updates on pricing. Monday came and went without hearing from her. I sent her an email to follow up, but never got a response. I was so surprised! After all the time she spent helping us, we thought she'd want to process our order. We had everything ready to go but never heard back, so we ultimately went with another store where we got a response. It was such a strange experience and I'm not sure where the breakdown was. Purchased a special order tub and paid $475 to expedite it with a 2 week turnaround for delivery. 3 weeks later and still no tub, not even a timeframe for delivery. Every time I call I get the run around, and my original salesperson is out half of the time. I've been told multiple times someone would call me back, with no return calls. I've been placed on hold for 15 minutes to be told they thought I hung up because it was a new phone system. I'm beginning to wonder if they even ordered a tub or just took my money. I was told I would get the itemized list of items I picked with the prices the same day. Four to five days had gone by and I did not hear. I emailed and texted following up, and still did not receive a response. I called the store, spoke to a different associate, and they let me know that they'd let Shea know to get back to me asap. I still never heard back. I emailed and called again; was completely ghosted. Absolutely horrible customer service. Will never be getting my business. Expressions told me to use Otto for the install. On a pre-call Otto told me he could do trim work as well to ensure the fridge will fit. He got to my house without a mask. Found something I liked but despite being a massive store, they neglected to have it in stock. They said they would call me when my order came in. After almost a month of no call I showed up and asked about my order. It was delivered to the wrong location. They said they would call me the next week when it arrived at the correct location. They did not call me when it arrived. I ordered the same products on Amazon and it was delivered in 2 days. My building called me when the package arrived. My advise to the owner: online retailers are cheaper, they shouldn't also have better customer service. Any hope of my purchasing there again disappeared with my experience. I had an issue with a Kohler sink that I'd bought elsewhere and couldn't get the drain to fit. Angela approached me and was very helpful. Offered water while she proceeded to call up Kohler and troubleshooted with the support line. She even ordered the missing parts for me to be sent to my home at no charge. So literally the day after the COVID-19 virus hit, our 20 year old, built-in KitchenAid refrigerator decided to completely die. We had been filling it up with freon but the leak became too big and it turned into a big, useless box! We really wanted to get a Sub-Zero fridge as they last the longest, but the pricing is prohibitive. So I called every company in San Diego and Orange County (including the factory). Thank goodness I got Jenna @ Expressions - she was awesome! She said it might take a while but that she would try and find us a deal. And they're certified to sell Sub-Zero's as well. After a week or so, she was able to find us an open box item which saved us some much needed funds! And we only needed to use our super-small mini-fridge for a few (painful) weeks. Overall couldn't have been happier - the install last weekend went super smoothly, the price saved us money, and Jenna not only was emailing me, but texting me as well updates along the way. I am seriously irritated with a plumbing fixture problem when I call this number because this store carries items made by Phylrich (the product label I need). Fernando randomly answers my call, listens to my tirade, looks at all the plumbing photos I send him then offers to do some research AND HE GETS BACK TO ME WITHIN 10 MINS. I'm giving them three stars and I can change it if they remedy the problem. I bought a washer and dryer combo to replace the one that is currently in my townhome. The sales person Scott was amazing. He went out of his way to make sure that I got the exact same Item so that I knew it would fit and he set up delivery. The delivery people canceled my delivery once and instead came three days later. They had difficulty getting my old unit out and getting the new unit upstairs and installed. The bottom line is, there's quite a bit of damage to my wood floors, and Scuffs and nicks all over my freshly painted walls. The installers took photos of all the damage they did, and told me that they submitted them to their boss and that I would be hearing from him. It has been two weeks and I have not heard anything. I will continue to attempt to get them to remedy the problem, but after reading other peoples reviews. I may have to take legal steps for action. read more

My Interior Designer took me to Expressions Home Gallery to see a very knowledgeable Mimi, where they have a wide selection of bathroom fixtures. Even if they don't have exactly what you want, they can order it for you. Their prices are comparable to online prices (or less, if you get your decorator's discount!), but their customer service was the absolute best I have ever seen! Yvette was there for me every time I called...I even had her cell number for evenings and weekends! Whenever I had forgotten an item or something was missing from my two bath remodel, I could call and get the problem rectified right away. Yvette even picked up the missing parts from the warehouse for me. They are knowledgeable about all things plumbing; much more than I would ever care to know myself, so it was nice to have the back-up. Highly recommend!! Angela Underwood of the Expressions Home Gallery in San Diego is a saint and simply amazing. Here's why. In the second week of the governor's shelter-in-place order, on a Saturday morning, my refrigerator / freezer died and needed repair asap to save the food. According to the repair person who I was lucky to find, it would take a month to get the part to fix it. Yikes, how was I going to save all of the food and vegetables. I called around to buy a fridge to put in the garage from Home Depot, Costco, and several other vendors, but had zero luck in finding a delivery date within two weeks. Because I had purchased appliances from Angela in the years passed, on a whim, frantically called her to ask if the company might have an extra fridge in their warehouse I could purchase for immediate delivery. She was there and working. I couldn't believe it. Although Expressions didn't, Angela offered Expressions' own refrigerator to use for however long I needed it, free, no charge. I was in the process of picking it up when another friend came through for me. Angela was incredibly helpful and calm, cool, and collected. when I purchased appliances in the past, she obtained rebates, and the found the best deals. We just spent over $9,600 on a Wolf Oven and Convection Steam Oven, and both were installed yesterday. The appliances they sell are high-end and top quality; this review is totally based on maybe the most awful customer service / lack of communication I think I've ever experienced. We have gone to Kiva for years and years. A few years back our sales person left, and since that time the customer service has gone completely down the toilet. Example 1: In order to be thorough before ordering these ovens to make sure we could get the required wiring done, we had our appliance installer here giving an estimate for the convection steam oven, which needs its own 20 amp circuit. He said Angela at Kiva is great, call her and she'll take care of you. I called and left a voice mail for Angela early one morning asking if she could make herself available sometime that afternoon to discuss oven purchases with us, as that was the only time that my husband could leave his office for few hours. Angela called us back a day later, THE NEXT AFTERNOON! Not a good initial impression from this person. When she did call back, she mentioned that yesterday was "crazy." Well, we were there yesterday and witnessed all the craziness. There were two other customers in the store when we were there, and the salespeople outnumbered the customers. Kinda crazy, huh. Example 2: In the meantime, as I mentioned, we had gone there anyway that afternoon and found Scott available. We ordered our two ovens from him. We wanted to play with the closing date on our credit card, which was that day, so that we'd have a month's relief before having to pay $9,600. Scott assured us he'd run the charge first thing in the morning. Well, we find out TWO DAYS LATER that the order had not even been input yet, and Scott wasn't even working this third day. Very frustrating as that would mean waiting even longer for the ovens to come in. Someone did go ahead and submit the order when I called to verify and found that it had not yet been placed. Example 3: The ovens were installed yesterday (Friday), and the glass on one of the ovens has a very small scratch or imperfection. The evening of the installation, I composed a short email to Scott at Kiva and attached an photo of the scratch so that he would be able to visualize what I was describing when I spoke with him. I left a voice mail for Scott the next morning (Saturday) on his direct line listed on his business card. When I hadn't gotten a call back by early afternoon, I called the main number and asked whether Scott was working. She said yes, he was, and that she would personally take a note to him asking him to check his voice mail. It's now 8:30 pm on Saturday evening. No call back. To me, this is an inexusable way to treat customers, whether you spend $90 or $900 or $9,000. Kiva has lost a long-time customer (and by long-time, we're talking 20 years or so). We will never go back there. read more

Worked with Kiva getting everything for our bathroom remodeling project. Their communication could have been much better. 90% of what we ordered was on back-order and were not notified. We proceeded with our demolition plans and our project was at a standstill for 2.5 weeks! It took 5-6 weeks to get what we ordered when were told 2-weeks. On a happy note-- We did get quotes from their competitors and they had the best prices of everyone! CONCLUSION: Make sure your sales representative is communicating with you about product delivery timing and Do Not Demo your project until everything is in! read more

I had a horrible experience with this company. The worst customer service I have dealt with and no one knows about any orders at the store. I had to call in multiple times with a different answer each time about the status of my toilet, they never emailed me, called me when the toilet arrived, and the lady who purposely wasted my time, Evelyn, tried to cancel my order, due to the company being so unorganized I still got the toilet when I had someone pick it up. Of course the invoice was for over 100 dollars what I was quoted, I had to fix that this morning as well. Not quite a year ago, I ordered a refrigerator, stove (gas), dishwasher, glass topped stove vent, and microwave for our renovated kitchen. We were led to Expressions Home Gallery, and specifically Angela, by our cabinet contractor. Angela worked with us on pricing, and timing when the manufacturer had a delay. When the wrong vent was delivered, she hand-delivered the replacement to us in Santee; a good 40 minute drive from her office. I was a satisfied customer then, but it's what happened this last week that has made me a Very Happy Customer! Unfortunately, the metal grates for our gas stove started to show signs of either rust or a compromised top heat coating. One really badly, and the two side grates less, but advancing. Upon looking up the paperwork, I saw that we were under warranty, but was unsure of how to make a claim. I contacted Angela for advice, and she took care of the ENTIRE process. I sent her photos of the damage, and she contacted manufacturer's rep, negotiated the replacement, and got the parts shipped directly to my home. Note, I was just asking how to start the process. Angela not only stepped up to the Customer Service plate, she smashed a home run out of the ball park. Absolutely I will be recommending this company and absolutely I will be sending anyone directly to Angela who asks for a good, ethical company to work with. read more

I ordered over $13000 in appliances and plumbing fixtures from this store. Raychel was handling my order. I had to do lots of research before deciding on brands including a special order whirlpool tub. The tub order got messed up and I reached out to a store Manager, Jenna. My remodel project was placed on stop as we needed tub before the tile job. After 2 stressful weeks back and of forth , my tub issue got resolved , the only reason I give this business 2 stars, but i almost lost my tile crew and my plumber. after one month I found out that 4 items from my order were on back order without definitive time for delivery . The store should have discussed it with me , find out if I could live with delay and suggest to look for compatible brands and quality with available stock The invoicing is as antiquated as one can only imagine. The orders are very confusing and the way the downpayment is applied and balances are shown is even more confusing . I am in finance and I have tough time to reconcile the bills with this business. There is no communication about when items are arrived in warehouse and can be delivered. You need to be proactive obtaining the answers Bottom line unless you really need to do business with them either proceed with caution or go with another well established business . You would think that if u order and purchase appliances from a store like this rather than Home Depot that your experience would be better right? Wrong!!! We have been so upset with our items we purchased, especially the stove. We have had our stove for about 1 year and it still doesn't work right. I have called, e-mailed and even came back to store to try and get them to send someone to fix or replace. All I ever get is a message or referral for me to call someone. Yet every referral that they give to fix it either doesn't show up, fails to show up or just doesn't call back. The worst of it all is that my wife is on my case non stop about it and there is nothing I can do except I guess buy a new one $1,800. I spent over $13,000 at Expressions ordering items my designer helped me choose for my kitchen and bathroom remodel. For the initial delivery Expressions failed to call me to schedule the delivery. The day of the delivery the truck driver called me to tell me nobody was at the house (my contractor was there) when I asked him what address he was at, it turned out he was at an address in Pacific Beach. My house is in Imperial Beach. 2nd delivery of appliances went ok, but they didn't include the toilet, which was an issue because the plumber was already scheduled for the install the next day and extra trips = more $$$. The next day Raychel emailed me, not called, to tell me they had broken the toilet and offered me a refund. I called her and gave her my credit card info for the refund. 2 weeks later I had still not been refunded the money for the toilet or its parts and she emailed to say she had written my cc info down wrong. I called the store and spoke with Jenna who assured me she would get it taken care of ASAP. 1 week later- no refund. I called again: "I'm sorry our accounting person isn't in today we can call you back Monday". They had no problem charging my card correctly the same day, can't understand what the issue is refunding my money when they caused the toilet to be undeliverable. When our other supplier did not come through Expressions Home Gallery and spoke with Gilbert on a Tuesday about 2pm and by 8am the next day we were picking up our new cooktop for a granite installation the next day. Sounds pretty simple right? Not really. Dacor would not let a consumer pick up product so Gilbert went the extra mile and even called me from his personal cell well after hours to let me know we were good to go to pick up the cooktop. The granite guys are here right now and so is the cooktop. Way to go Gilbert and Expressions Home Decor. Being a business owner myself I really appreciated the world class service.
