I had a super positive experience working with Dawn, the customer service specialist while also having a negative experience working with a specialist, Jesus while purchasing a washing machine. After purchasing a washing machine on the website, I got a same-day call from Jesus and was told it would take about 6 days for the model I ordered to arrive from the manufacturer. 6 days pass, 7 days pass, 8 days pass, no update from Jesus. I call Jesus on a Saturday for an update and was told to send an email in 3 days because he's out on Monday. I wait 3 more days and sent an email the morning of the 4th day about the situation. No response all day. So I decided to call Jesus and was told over the phone that there is likely no available stock from the manufacturer for that particular model, I was offered an alternative at a discounted price. I took a day to think about it and decide to move forward with the alternate model at the discounted price. I ask for an updated invoice. I am told an invoice will be sent. No invoice was sent to the email on file. I continue texting Jesus about the unit and I ask again for an invoice to be sent to a different email just in case the first one bounced somehow. I wait for a day or two, no invoice yet but agree to have the washing machine delivered because it had been over 2 weeks since I made the initial purchase. It's the day of delivery and I still haven't gotten an invoice from Jesus. I call Aztec Appliance for customer support and get connected to Dawn. Dawn was so helpful in the situation with the way she was able to gain a better understanding of what had happened thus far. She was able to confirm that the info Jesus shared with me about the original model's unavailability was true and sent me a copy of the invoice (third times the charm). The delivery and installation of the unit was smooth. Their team was quick and efficient. Unfortunately I had to call Dawn again to clarify the fact that the invoice indicated that the unit I received was an open box model and was concerned about the viability of the manufacturers warrenty. The fact that the model I received was an open box model was never disclosed to me by Jesus. It was extremely disappointing to work with Jesus i.e. nonexistent outreach to provide updates, undelivered invoices after multiple requests, lack of transparency for items sold. TLDR; Dawn is amazing. If you have a chance to work with her, you'll have an amazing time at Actec Appliance. I wouldn't like to have my order serviced by Jesus the next time I choose to purchase something from Aztec Appliance. read more

We have purchased Bosch double ovens, a Bosch refrigerator and a very expensive microwave from Aztec Appliances, and I hate to say it, BUT NEVER EVER again. The upper oven requires a "rigged" solution to work and the refrigerator broke one month before the manufacturer warranty expired. We have now been TWO MONTHS without a refrigerator, Thanksgiving was take-out and I have no hope for any Christmas cooking at this point. Aztec's response? "Not our problem." Really? A store that sells appliances couldn't stand behind their product? They have zero ability to help with a replacement? I hate choosing Best Buy or Home Depot over a local business, but I beg anyone reading this to beware. I needed an above range microwave and the sales team made the process so easy. They found me the best deal without all the fuss and hassle some retailers try to swing. My item was not in stock but they had it shipped and I picked up in store. The sales process was easy, i would say the pick up was less of a wow, pulling up to the back and ringing for service, but I get it. Will return for my appliance needs in the future! read more

I want to take a moment to share a genuinely positive experience with Aztec Appliances, especially because it completely turned around my initial impression of the company. To be fully transparent, my first visit to the Kearney Mesa location was underwhelming. I didn't feel well assisted and left disappointed. I won't name anyone from that visit, as that experience had nothing to do with the people who ultimately earned my business back. After that visit, I called Aztec Appliances, and that's where everything changed. Dawn answered the phone, and her warmth, professionalism, and genuine customer service immediately stood out. She patiently listened as I explained my experience and made me feel heard and valued. Because of Dawn alone, I decided to give Aztec Appliances another opportunity. She recommended that I work with Adrian at the Morena location and also encouraged me to email the general manager, Larry. Larry was a class act. He personally responded to my email, addressed my concerns directly, and made sure everything was handled professionally. When my wife and I arrived at the Morena location, Adrian was exceptional. He was knowledgeable, patient, and genuinely helpful. He walked us through different appliance options, explained the pros and cons clearly, and took the time to understand what we were looking for without any pressure. This was our first appliance purchase for our first home, and Adrian made the experience smooth and enjoyable. Dawn was also there in person and was just as pleasant and professional as she was on the phone. Between Dawn, Adrian, and Larry, the level of customer service was outstanding. I work in a family-owned retail business myself, and customer service is something we take very seriously. I bought a Miele washing machine from Aztec on 2/2/26. Aztec installers came twice to install the washing machine. The first time they gave us reasons why they could not install it. We addressed each issue, and the installers agreed to install the machine. They unpacked the machine and found it to be damaged. They took back the machine, and another installation date was scheduled. The second time they refused to install the machine for new reasons. One of the new reasons was our water valves were corroded. They left the machine in our living room, and we hired a plumber to install the machine. The plumber installed the machine, telling us the water valves were fine. Aztec has not refunded what I paid for installation. read more

Bought new Sub-Zero refrigerator and Kitchenaid gas cooktop from Sergio Pina, the manager at Aztec in the past few months. Sergio knows his stuff, responsive and coordinated with South Coast Installs, Miguel and team, who were easy to work with, showed up on time, and did a great job. Nothing is cheap anymore in San Diego but I think they charged fair prices for the services and didn't mess anything up. read more

UPDATE---2024 PURCHASE EXPERIENCES: October 17 Refrigerator Purchase After the earlier long distance fridge purchase with Ryan detailed below.....as I was back in SD in October I decided to proactively replace my mom's 7-10 year old refrigerator. Went to Aztec outlet this week and received A- mazing help and consult FROM AL ! We went through the outlet warehouse stock of slightly blemished units and he had a high end Bosch French door fridge that he made me an irresistible $1,300 discount offer on !!! And to deal the deal it's the modern counter depth ( 24") that is such an aesthetic improvement to our narrow galley style kitchen ( see photos of old unit hanging out and the PERFECT fit of the Bosch unit he got us into). In addition, he offered a great 4 years extended warranty that I bought with some of the savings he offered. In summary, I never thought we could afford a top end make like Bosch.....but I'm finding that in our family's 20 year appliance purchase history with AZTEC ANYthing can be possible --- IF you're willing to accept some small dent or scratch imperfections that other picky people rejected. Although sad to see the downtown store by me close, when my 15 year old Whirlpool refrigerator started a slow leak from its water line inlet Aztec was only a call away. I started as I always do at their outlet section to se any aesthetic discounts. Was SO LUCKY that Rudy picked up the phone. MAN, what a great guy and expert in helping me find a new fridge based on so many considerations and options !! After buying one at 5:55 pm before they closed, he even helped me upgrade the very next day to a better model over the phone --after I'd had time to think. But it didn't stop here, via emails and texting he helped me prep for the delivery requirement that there be a shut-off valve by the fridge for his delivery crew to hook up my new unit. On top of all this is the fact that Aztec has their OWN deliery crew (not 3rd party contractors like HD or Lowes that you can never track down). And on top of that is the IN-credible $59 delivery charge INCLUDING removal of the old fridge !!! AGAIN, the family success with Aztec continues. We did a major kitchen remodel and used Aztec Appliance. We are definitely happy we chose Aztec as opposed to a big box store like Best Buy, Lowe's or Pacific Sales. We would not have received anywhere near the same level of attention from a big box retailer. We purchased a Viking range, Miele Dishwasher, Miele Washer and Dryer, wine storage unit, Sub Zero Refrigerator, microwave-convection oven and a Fisher-Paykel DishDrawer for our bar Area. Marvin was helpful and aware of rebates and other offerings from the various manufacturers. This helped us to save some money on this purchase. Also, when we ran into issues with the installer (not Aztec Appliance, a separate company) and delays with getting one of the appliances, Marvin and the the other staff at Aztec were helpful in getting resolution. They made a return visit to correct an improperly secured exhaust connection. They refused to replace the damaged range hood they drilled a hole through and did a less than professional repair of the exhaust duct connection they left open dumping carbon monoxide into the cabinet and living space. Duct tape does not replace a mechanical connection between hood exhaust and vent duct. They left a 2 inch gap and covered it with foil duct tape, no anchors at all connecting. Sad to experience such work when we paid for a professional installation and gave them the opportunity to correct. Now I have to get a professional to secure the connection and I am still left with a blemished hood. And they up charged me $175.00 at installation for parts needed to install after I paid for install kits with the install. Extremely disappointed. read more

Sales person Marvin was helpful in showing us options, but then said he'd be right back. I am NOT writing this with the goal of singling any employee(s) out. I really don't want anyone to lose a job. This WHOLE business needs an overhaul. Leadership casts an important shadow (good or bad) over the entire organization and in this case the top leadership here must be terrible. I needed a refrigerator. Not too picky but I found that HD and Costco offered a whirlpool at a competitive price and delivery within 48 hours. My husband instead suggested we give the local company a chance. BIG MISTAKE. Here's what I observed during this transaction : Aztec doesn't seem to have inventory. They wait for your order to be placed and in turn place an order with their supplier which then has them quote me (the customer) a 2 week lead time to delivery "give or take". When I asked what "give or take" means, I was told it could be upward of two months. Aztec then says they can provide a more expensive model faster and so we bite. You might think that means we would receive the frig closer to the delivery timeline quoted by the bigger box stores but you'd be wrong. The frig was set to be delivered 8 days later with a delivery window of 8-11 am. At 8:30 I received a call from Aztec that their driver has COVID so there would be no delivery that day. Concurrently, my husband got a call that their driver couldn't get his personal vehicle to work that day so called out. Which is true? Who can say. We heard later that day our shipment now goes to the BOTTOM of their delivery queue and we would be in receipt of said frig 3 business days later. As it turns out, neither me or my husband was avail to receive the delivery (as they had routed it for the afternoon) because we would be in meetings. When we called to say that wouldn't work, back to the bottom of the list we go and since they "don't deliver on Saturdays" we would receive it sometime 8 days later. We are advised they will deliver between 12 and 3 pm. You want to know when they arrived? After 5 pm. So we took the whole afternoon off unnecessarily in addition to having taken another morning off for the first scheduled delivery. Did I mention we didn't have a working frig for the two weeks it took them to get it to us? Our experience indicated not a single employee thought (or seemed to care) we were being inconvenienced at any point in the process. What they would have you believe is that they are the biggest distributor of these products to San Diego and thus there's nothing in the sales/operations department that could be prioritized any differently than currently is. This will be our last purchase here. Which is probably no big deal except for the fact my husband is a licensed general contractor focusing on kitchen/bath remodels/ADUs and to this point always recommended the local guys. They said they doubted this truth because he has never signed up for their "rewards program". Good to know they have one but that doesn't mean we haven't been referring them. So after going along with the upsell, paying more the appliance than we budgeted, taking a morning and afternoon off work needlessly and waiting two weeks to receive it, suffice it to say it was all a headache we didn't need. I realized coming to Aztec Appliance twice in one week that Al a supposed Kitchen/Appliance Specialist in the back building-Outlet has HORRIBLE customer service. We came here on a Wednesday one hour before closing requesting for an AC/Heater combo Wall Unit to purchase. He had a full on temper tantrum when we walked in. He was very negative and saying no to everything we were asking. He said we don't carry those wall units here. We only carry portable ac units. I'm like that's not what your website, Ryan, or Curtis say. So when I showed that I was getting upset about his awful behavior... He started to give more information saying I can only help you if you know the dimensions, volt/amps, pattern of plug... etc. I had the dimensions, but I didn't have the other details. In my head, I'm like you couldn't tell us that calmly in the first place? So, I gave this dude the benefit of the doubt thinking okay it's the end of the work day for him, I'll come back another day at an earlier time with all the necessary information. Yea right..... Lol. We came back on a Saturday at around a 11:30 am with pictures and all the needed information that was requested. Aztec Appliance worker Al STILL met us with the same negative- can't help you- lazy attitude. I caught him in a lie saying I showed you the ac wall units we have here last time as he sat and just pointed. I said no, you said you didn't carry these units here. Could you believe there were 2 units sitting on shelves he didn't even care to show us last time? After these terrible encounters here.....My intuition was saying don't buy from this place especially with the type of negative energy this guy is giving. I'm not sure what his issue is, but the company needs to retrain him on customer service basic etiquette, how to not get complacent in a job, and cultural diversity. read more

Bought a super fancy Italian Fulgor oven on the recommendation of Salesperson Kent. I wish I would have bought Bosch like did for all our other appliances. This was for our remodel in 2022. We had to replace the motherboard after two months and it's continued to have problems. Oh but wait nobody in San Diego can service them. And oh it's out of warranty. I feel totally scammed. I cant even use the oven the oven without it smelling like gas. Aztec doesn't even sell them anymore. Shame they cannot/will not help remedy the situation. He is very knowledgeable about the products they sell & is able to guide the consumer to the perfect "appliance fit" after he asks questions & listens to concerns. My husband & I are very picky & we were more than pleased with his help & guidance for each purchase. Additionally, I cannot say enough about Cesar & Carlos who were sent to install our 48" Sub Zero fridge. Not only were they very polite & professional; they were also adept at problem solving "on the spot". Such care was taken to protect our floors & counters & walkway. Person answering the phone was quick to answer and kindly transferred me to the person they felt could help me select a new washing machine. That person seemed inconvenienced from the first few moments. I even tried to break the tension by sharing I wasn't sure if I was asking the right questions or if I needed to do more research on my own first. The first thing I asked was whether I might need to replace both W&D. She gave me an absolute answer that I would need to replace both my washer and dryer since I have them stacked. I asked a further clarifying question to makes sure I understood, then asked if she could help me pick replacements. Her comment was that I'd need to know type, features, size, price range, etc. I did know; I wanted to replace like for like and had my current make/model/part number and specs open in front of me. That information didn't suffice (evidently), so I wrapped up the call in under 5 minutes. I've since gotten the help I needed elsewhere. When I shared the same info at another company, they told me about two solid options. In less than 10 minutes I had the replacement selected and was getting my order placed/scheduled for delivery. read more

If I could give a "zero", I would because that was the amount of customer service I received. No one approached me on the show floor after walking around for about 10 minutes. When I went up to the counter, the "kitchen specialist" Curtis, showed very little interest. I had brought the manual from my old microwave for comparison. When I held it up, he told me that wouldn't tell him anything. He did tell me the model I was interested in was not in stock and would have to be ordered. I inquired about delivery and installation charges and was told I would be given a phone number of "Al" who would handle delivery and installation and would pay him directly. I specifically chose Aztec Appliance based on their numerous positive reviews. I ended up going to Home Depot and finding a higher quality microwave with a lower delivery and installation cost. All of my appliances are aging and starting to need to be replaced. Aztec Appliance will be the last store I would ever consider. So sad for a local business to treat people this way. read more

I decided to use Aztec because I was hoping it would be better than dealing with a big box store. My hunch was right. From the start in sales with Adrian, I was treated with professionalism, thoughtfulness and personalized care If you want service, Adrian provides. Being out of town and not being able to walk in and choose the product and then be there for installation can be problematic. I was able to be on the same page (on-line) with Adrian thus knew exactly what model etc. I was purchasing. On the delivery and installation end, my life was made so much better with Chester, the delivery/installation pro. In fact, there were some issues but Chester handled the situation with flawless execution. I was not aware that the dishwasher needed a dedicated electrical outlet. The existing one shared a box w/garbage disposal. Chester updated me and then took care of doing the job properly. He also kept his boss and the salesman, Adrian, in the loop. I don't normally take the time to do this but Aztec made such an impression on me (1800 miles away) that I wanted to share. 25 years ago they outfitted our entire kitchen and they still espouse the same business, installation and customer service as they did so many years ago. Terrible service! They sell you a refrigerator, you pay in full, and they deliver it without the panels and handles. How is it possible to pay $20,000 for a Sub-Zero and have to wait over a month for the parts? They also schedule a delivery and then don't show up. It's a shame that this is the only place in San Diego that carries these refrigerators. When you call customer service, instead of being helpful and courteous after such a big purchase, they don't assist you, and you end up feeling scolded after waiting a long time on the line. read more
