They make you give some type of rating but I can't personally give any stars for this place...Very disappointing! Pathetic, inexperienced employees giving really bad customer service. I am hoping this listing is for the Francis Scott Key Mall location because that is the one I am referencing here. I went in with my hubby one day last week to try on some diamond rings and the young girl at the counter asks for I.D. I was uphauled as I am used to buying from jewelry stores which carry much better quality merchandise and they never ever ask for an I.D. You ask why I would visit such place? I just happened to be in the mall and in the market for a new diamond at the time so out of curiousity I ended up here. Anywho, the young girl named Carrie Ann then proceeded to tell me that their policy for certain diamonds was to get identification from customers before showing rings. So let me get this straight...It is a corporate policy of Reed Jewelers for employees to ask for identification before showing customers their diamonds? I don't think so. Did this really just happen I asked myself? Okay, okay, I look pretty sweet and innocent, my hubby on the other hand does have quite a few tattoos but he makes six figures for goodness sake...We were both very nice and friendly as always when dealing with most people so I felt she had no reason... Talk about serious discrimination here. This girl looked like something straight from "Trailer Park Life" Magazine and she was asking us for I.D.? After she told me their "policy" I couldn't help but chuckle as I got up and left the store...I went directly across the other side of the mall and made a $4,000 diamond purchase at another store, within a 10 minute time period....without showing any I.D. When I arrived at my next destination, I called this particular Reed store to speak to a manager about the incident at which time Carrie Ann happened to answer the phone. I felt compelled to let her know that I was the woman who was in the store a little earlier and that she had lost a sale due to Reed Jewelry store's ummm...policy. I decided that I wouldn't bother to speak with the stores manager because if she was the girl I saw when I went in, she was very unprofessional for not greeting me as I was coming into the store and she was looking right in my face. I am in the process of contacting corporate on this one. Just think how many customers they must be losing daily! read more

Gave my card to my wife-to-be, told her to go pick out a ring. I headed to work which was over a hour away. They refused service once she was there. Why? Because her name wasn't on my credit card. I called them, they explained it was policy to refuse service if the person presenting the card wasn't the person on the card. I told them it was no different than if my wife-to-be bought it online using my card, the only difference was whether it was in person or online. It should not matter at all. They said, sorry, if you're not here with her, no service. I offered to Facetime with my wife-to-be and show my driver's license through FaceTime so they could verify me as the owner on the card and allow her to use my card. They refused. I strongly advised them to reconsider. They said they would speak to corporate. Corporate told them no way. So they refused yet again. I should point out I was speaking with management on the phone the entire time. I ended up buying the ring that she wanted through the website, because my wife-to-be had her heart set on that particular ring. But guess what Reeds? Will not buy from your business again, and will advise others to reconsider whether buying from Reeds is worth it. Reeds, I only have one thing to say to you. Re-educate whoever set up that policy and get a reality check. read more

I have had the exact opposite experience from "Ms. B". My fiance and I love Reeds! We went in there together to look at engagement rings in 2013 because I honestly had no idea what I wanted and didn't know anything about diamond quality and such. As soon as we stepped in we were greeted by a really nice man named Matt I think. He sat down with us and pulled a lot of things from the cases and explained the differences between them. He took time to explain to us what makes one diamond more desirable than another and what to look for when choosing a good one. It was so nice to actually learn about what I was looking at rather than just going "ooooohhh shiny..i'll take that". After getting an understanding of what makes diamonds amazing we started narrowing down what it was I really wanted. After looking at many we figured out that what I wanted wasn't in one ring. Matt said this was no problem and showed us a way to take a wrap and add it to the solitaire to create a ring that was all my own. While it was hard to picture I trusted not seeing it together and when my fiance proposed to me a few months later it was a total surprise and the ring was stunning. If you don't believe me then take a look at the picture of it! It has been a year since he proposed and I still get compliments on it every week and find myself staring at it like the day I said yes! With "I Do's" 10 months away we went back after Black Friday to look at wedding bands and hopefully take advantage of some sales. Matt was there and remembered us and said that he was happy to help us again. We sat down with him and went over all the options and easily picked my fiance's ring. I was between a few different ones, but with Matt's advice I choose one. At first I thought maybe I had made a mistake, but when they came in and I tried it on with my engagement ring to see how they looked together...I was beyond sold. It really is everything I want in a wedding band. It is beautiful, timeless and I want to wear it forever. When going back for our wedding bands Matt made us love him and Reeds even more. To thank us for our loyalty he gave us a discount on our wedding bands and Thanked us personally because he said it means so much to the company. Well Matt, the time you took with us means so much to us! Ring shopping was everything I wanted it to be and that is thanks in a huge part to the quality and service given by Reeds. This is the only jewelry store I shop at! I hope to pick out many more stunning pieces there and have already bought Pandora items there for gifts. I understand that it is x-mas eve, BUT that does not mean one should suffer receiving *terrible* customer service. The biggest issue is the lack of organization in the store. Everything from layout to the "sign in paper" that was left on the counter in the middle of customers. I did not even know you had to have a sign in sheet until after waiting for five minutes someone finally decided to ask what I needed help with. I needed to buy just one charm. Just one. That is it. Instead of her saying that she could help me I had to wait for another ten minutes so the sales consultant that was aimlessly walking around could assist me. She was less than personable. After finally getting the charm it was time to check out. I am not sure why they would not choose to use the "mobile" payment option at the Pandora counter so that the customer isn't walking all over the store. When I was checking out she did not ask if I shopped there before, or needed a gift receipt. Nothing. I used to work retail, and have worked several Holidays. Worked today myself. But I have never not offered excellent customer service. They really need to organize the store and perhaps have a larger area for Pandora. read more

Me and my daughter had the most wonderful time purchasing Alex and Ani bangles in Georgetown so we were thrilled to learn Reeds Jeweler at FSK Mall carried them. We were there for the Mother's Day and our sales rep Denise wasn't too thrilled to show us the merchandises. I don't know if it was because we were not looking at the more expensive items but you can clearly see she wasn't too happy. As we chose our bangle (they had very little selection and were out of most of the designs) and paid for it she just handed me the receipt. No Alex and Ani's beautiful box that comes with the bangle. No instructions how to care for the jewerly that comes with it. No bag to carry the item I just purchased. I asked for a small bag and Denise replied that they didn't have small bags but only big ones and she hand it one to me. Sigh... It was the same small bag they put the purchased jewelries in for the customers. At this point my daughter was looking at me like what is wrong.... Denise's blank attitude through out the process was not very professional to say least. It was the most unpleasant experience we had in any jewerly stores. read more

And if they don't have a product, they will try to make it happen. The last review is not their fault since every reeds store has that policy to prevent snatch and grabs. I was pleasantly surprised with Reeds Jewelers recently. My husband had bought me a Pandora Expressions (actually several) charm for Christmas. On one of the charms a stone fell out. As a skeptical consumer I went in to the store expecting the worst. That they would refer me to the manufacturer!! Instead, a very knowledgeable young lady looked at the charm and it was immediately replaced with another charm. As an aside, several years ago my husband bought me a diamond bracelet from that same store and I went in to look around and they cleaned my bracelet at no charge. You do not get that kind of service from many businesses these days. read more

I have been here a few times and I have never been impressed. (Frederick, MD location) I usually only go if they have something another store doesn't. During the holidays I went in to get a couple Alex and Ani bracelets for my sister for Christmas. There were other people looking and talking to another but not yet purchasing. I knew exactly which ones I wanted, but apparently there was a "line". One of the employees grabbed a clipboard for the customers to sign up on but no one wrote their names. Random employees kept asking who was "next" instead of helping someone who was standing there literally just ready to get the bracelets and go. Due to the complete lack of organization obviously no one knew who was "next". I got frustrated and left to walk around the mall. When I came back a 40 something redheaded woman with glasses asked if I needed help and I told her the bracelets I needed. They didn't have them so I had to again search for different ones. Instead of helping me, she walked away. I then had to get her attention to ask if they had each of the bracelets I was interested in. Every time I asked about a bracelet she would very obviously and literally huff and puff. She would roll her eyes and throw her shoulders up and flail her arms. The entire time she was looking past me at the crowds of people. She gave a nasty attitude when I questioned the price of one of the bracelets talking to me like I was a 4 year old. She finally got her act together after she swiped my card for 70 dollars. I wanted to punch her in the face but I didn't. I hope by some grace of God she is reading this. Redheaded glasses lady, I wanted to punch you in the face. For the rest of my life I will avoid Reeds just so I don't have to think about you. read more
