Food was decent, not great, but it's a vacation area, so that's pretty much expected. You don't get much bang for the buck, but the service is super friendly, and they have some good beers on tap. Most places on PIB serve bar food, this place had some good options for vegetarians, of which our group had a few. They also had vegetables! The black bean sloppy Joe was very good and the rest of our party was happy with their orders. Late night burritos were not bad if you're been drinking which you probably were. The don't have a huge selection just steak chicken and chorizo but enough to fill your belly especially after a long night of drinking. This is a new bar taking over the Fish Bowl location. I really do enjoy this place. The name seems a little cheezy to me, but it is indeed a real bar on the island (versus the larger spring break forever party scene bars). I'm able to come here and listen to some good live music, drink good quality whiskey, have good conversations with locals and visitors alike, and just not feel lost in a crowd. This bar also serves food, but I would say it's a bar first, restaurant second. I didn't have any of the food so I can't actually comment on it. However, everything I saw looked good and the prices seemed reasonable for the island. When looking at island prices, you have to add on the cost of getting the food from the mainland and that you're in a tourist zone. It's always going to cost more even if you're not there during the busy season. Service was great too. Everyone was very attentive and they treated the tourists just as good as the locals. It's nice to be a visitor but have the staff treat you special just the same. read more

First I would like to start by saying this was our first time here and the only reason we stayed was because our waitress kept telling us our food would be ready soon. We ended up waiting and hour and a half for breakfast. We arrived at 10:40am and did not get out food until 12:19pm. Then when the food arrived it wasn't even that good. I got the biscuits and gravy and gravy tasted like McDonald's gravy. The biscuits where the type you get in the store that are already baked. Also I would like to note we rented a golf cart and it's pay by the hr so this place made us waste our money. The manager did take off some money off our check but still all around we were not happy. I honestly don't understand why this place has any good reviews. My dish was literally 2 biscuits cut in half with gravy on top for $9. It was not worth it. read more

The Reel Bar has a nautical theme which is perfect for the island. I find it casual and friendly. Great live entertainment and good sound system. Drink menu - try their signature drink (Reely Squeezed) where they juice fresh red grapefruit or orange with your choice of alcohol (top shelf vodka for me). Nothing better on a hot summer evening. Cold draft beer too. Food - great burgers; grilled cheese has two different kinds of cheese and bacon on sourdough bread - delicious with the creamy tomato soup (basil, sherry, cream); fresh salads (hard to come by at some restaurants on the island); local fresh ingredients when available. Very cute spot! We went around 8pm and were the only people eating.. everyone else there was just there for drinks.. but it was the best food we had on the island. The Reel Bar has the perfect blend of uniquely flavorful food, well-made cocktails, and friendly service that can make you feel like you are in a small coastal town in the Caribbean. Spotty service on a slow weekday night in September. We sat for close to 10 minutes before someone noticed us. the whole place had like 3 small tables being served. Really?. I am a tall big guy, how could you not notice me?. I am not offended. Just saying. Food is a bit pricey but this is the island after all I guess. Burgers were good but I have had better for close to $14 burger. Eeeek... It is a decent place to watch a game and grab a bite with friends. I am not sure how service or food quality would be on busy summer nights but the place was average on a slow night (pre-labor day weekend) so can't exactly imagine. read more

Stopped to get a drink while bar hopping on the island. Have to say, we had an awesome server named Hayden, who did a wonderful job and was so friendly. We all ordered a drink and some appetizers. Every one of our group of 4 loved what we ordered. Here are the items we ate and all were great! Wings, onion rings, shrimp taco, ground meat taco, fish taco, cole slaw. Yummy food, great service! Hayden was so nice and knew the answers to all our questions we had about the island. Will definately come back next time we visit Put in Bay. read more

The place was crowded for football, but the food was terrible. Every meal at our table was served cold, the fries were soggy, the fish was cold, the service was poor (over an hour and 15 min for the meal to come), and when we asked about it, the manager became defensive and arrogant. A relaxed setting with music going during most of the visit which was nice filler opposed to idle chat. Besides the fresh Erie Perch, there's not too much to love about the restaurant. I give it three stars simply based on the fact that the quality is relatively good in comparison to the surrounding area. I ordered the following: Lobster Roll, Fish n Chips, Grouper, and a couple tacos (shrimp and beef) The good: Fresh Erie Perch fish n chips which was delicious, despite the small portion and being overpriced. The shrimp and fish taco were great! Would definitely recommend ordering the tacos! The bad: Service was relatively slow, the soft drinks were flat despite asking for another we were told nothing could be done. Small portions, big price. The lobster roll was nothing special and the grouper was okay but way too small in portion. Overall, if you're looking for a relaxed atmosphere, drinks, and some finger food by all means this is great. As a non-drinker this restaurant/pub had little to nothing to offer me so I remain neutral with three stars. Cheers! read more

The reel bar has great food definitely one of our favorite places to eat on the island, not to mention the prices are reasonable. I enjoy starting my night with a fresh squeezed vodka and grapefruit (I like to start healthy). The atmosphere and entertainment remind me of a speak easy in Key West or Bourbon St. It is a small intimate bar that you can actually enjoy conversation with your friends. read more

Waited over an hour for our food for breakfast and then everything was cold. Sausage and gravy over biscuits was served so cold the gravy was congealed. French toast wasn't cooked. Would have sent it all back but needed to get to the ferry. Super small servings for the amount of money. We all walked out hungry after paying for our overpriced meal. Waitress was " overwhelmed" with a table of 10. Bathrooms dirty with no toilet paper at noon. I have only been here for drinks after dinner - basic beers that you cannot mess up. Service was okay, took me a long time to get my bill at the end of our evening (about 12:30 am) but since the tab was much lower than I expected (bartender must have forgotten to put on a few drinks...) I was not complaining. I have not had food here before. Seems like a basic bar, the best part was that we found karaoke here on a Thursday night! Thoroughly enjoyed doing that on my husband's birthday and the karaoke dj seemed like a fun dude so that's why I gave it 4 stars. read more

We came up here for 3 days and was rainy most the time But we decided to, on Father's Day, we would have the prime rib that was out of this world 20oz slow roasted and then grilled too big..... We had to split it. Mashed potatoes were real , salad was excellent and we had the Caesar Dressing, and what a large slice of red velvet cake.........huge!! Entire staff was friendly and attentive. Came in on a Sunday right as Reel Bar was switching from breakfast menu to lunch menu. Our kids got pancakes (they were great - I stole a bite). My wife and I both got the Reel Burger and they were great! Very full flavored and juicy and cooked perfectly to order. I also recommend the onion rings. One last note: be sure to try the Sneeki Tiki - a secret smooth fruity drink that goes down WAY too smooth. read more

We have stopped in twice for lunch here at the Reel Bar, and while service has been fast and friendly both times and the decor is truly entertaining, the food is not very memorable. We really liked the BBQ chicken wrap the first visit (so much so that my husband ate half of mine after abandoning his meal), so we both ordered it the second visit and we were underwhelmed. It was a big soggy. Perhaps if we'd ordered the sauce on the side... That said, it does appear that they have several new items on the menu, and it might be worth checking out again. This place has been consistently awesome for me, my friends and my family the last three years we have been coming to put in Bay. On this trip we had a party of 13, a mix of kids and adults. We called ahead two hours before and they put together a nice table for us on the patio at 6 PM on a Sunday night. Katie was our server and she was truly amazing. She was quick to take our orders yet never made us feel rushed or pressured. We had a variety of foods including salads sandwiches wings and tacos and everything was excellent. French fries were especially delicious especially with the chipotle ranch dressing. Great kids menu with hamburgers, chicken tenders, grilled cheese and a variety of sides Craft beer selection is excellent with 16 draft taps. Seating is outside on the porch or open air inside the restaurant and they have a nice 15 foot bar. I can't recommend this place highly enough for consistent food quality and great service. read more

Well when in Put in Bay you go visit every spot on the island as long as you can be upright. I wandered into this spot with my partner in crime for a drink and then after reviewing their menu we knew we'd have to return for eats. Well upon our return we did exactly that. I ordered the Asiago crusted chicken sandwich that had fire roasted tomatoes, spinach, and mayo on a multi-grain bread and fresh cut fries. It was very tasty and reminded me of the Passport Cafe. Very fresh and tasty I couldn't even finish a half of the sandwich so we took it back to our room because it was that good. Hubby had the Banh Mie. It was beef kimchi jalapeño mayo sliced carrots on a Cuban roll with fresh cut fries. He ate the whole thing so there were no leftovers to take home. They also have live entertainment and the band was very good. They were called Hey Monea. We also got to see part of Ray Foggs skit and he was pretty funny. The bar is very airy and open and it wasn't stifling hot even though it was super hot out. It's a definite place you should visit if you're in PIB. read more
