The owner is wonderful. He is very talented, professional and friendly. He did my haircut perfectly and even cleaned up my beard and eyebrows a bit for the complete look. They moved their branch from the former Island Pacific grocery store to this. I'm glad they did not close down. It's a gem in the valley. Miss Niela is also wonderful. I seriously think this salon had its time in the past. We based our decision to have all our bridesmaids and parents have their hair and make up done in this salon from all the great reviews posted in here. Unfortunately, every single one of them had the worst experience. Here's the list of it - foundation used was too dark - uneven eyebrows - my mom had to provide a liquid eyeliner - make up tools looks worn - flower girl make up was too much for a kid - employees working that day seemed uncertain of what to do - hair styling is really out dated We are definitely not going back to this salon for future work. read more

Best place to get your hair styled and cut to whole new look! I've been coming here since 2010 and they never failed to miss my style- very friendly people, and helpful if you cant decide what hairstyle you want. The way they color hair is great! Vibrant colors and good quality. They also will tell you which colors would suit you well and rinse your hair every session. Excellent service, cant wait to visit this place every so often. Only downside was, they don't have restrooms inside, so I suggest going to the grocer outside there was an accessible restroom. It might be a little awkward but you can make it ;) read more

Loved my haircut. I'm very picky n sometimes very specific about how I get my hair done and cindy was very patient and friendly with me. At first she seemed mataray looking pero mabait nmn sya and very relatable. I do find their haircuts quite expensive tip not included compared to other places (esp. i have been going to Reflections in Panorama City for a few years now. I see Niela and she knows how to cut my hair how I like it and always does a fabulous job my fine, thin, super straight Asian hair. When she is done I am always amazed that my hair can actually have oomph to it with actual volume and body. She is also the hairstylist to three of my female cousins and aunt. Niela knows how to cut your hair so that it complements your features and to make your hair look fabulous. I will never let anyone else touch my hair since I met her. The cost of a haircut is $30. I love this salon, and I've been going to this place ever since I was a kid. I always try my best to get Monet (the owner) to do my hair, and lucky me, he's always in town. If you guys didn't know, Monet had spread out, not only in the San Fernando Valley, but in different counties and states. I believed there's one in Vegas now. I enjoy the welcoming, Filipino employees, and hearing either TFC (The Filipino Channel) or Filipino's just blabbing their mouth away. The salon isn't an ordinary salon, it's pretty and has a nice sense of style. I enjoy their hospitality all the time. I never ever got a bad attitude from any employee at this place. The prices here can be really pricey, but worth it. I love how they do my hair, and I always trust Monet and his unique ideas. read more

I was introduced to the salon with an unfriendly receptionist. There was hair from the previous customer on the chair and floor when I was asked to sit down on it. And on top of that I was completely overcharged and rough-handled. $70 for neck-length hair to be dyed brown. On top of that, the stylist would pull on my hair while washing instead of directing my head down into the sink and gave me a box of tissue to clean up excess dye myself. Horrible service, pumped up overpriced services, and and unkempt salon floor and chairs make this place a rating of 1 for me. I will never come back here again and will alert my friends. I came here even though I've had friends warn me already and won't be coming back. read more

I once made a morning appointment, and when I got to the salon, the sign said they were opening 30 minutes later than my appointment. Niela is the ONLY person who can give my thick hair a wonderful, professional haircut. She is very experienced and always does a wonderful job. I've gotten my hair done by several people there before and I can vouch that Niela is one of the best, if not the best! The reason why I give it 4 stars is the wait. The receptionists don't really know how to time the service and you end up waiting anywhere for 30 mins to 1 hour sometimes because Niela does take her time to make sure your hair is properly cut. Since I only get my hair cut about 4x a year I just sit quietly and wait anyway, but yeah, this is the reason why I am giving it 4 stars instead of 5 read more

I am an old customer of this salon back in the day where they opened the first one beside mami king. I discovered a good stylist in the other branch who never failed making my hair great and my two daughters . Not to mention my husband and two sisters who like him too. I was there again one weekend ago, I am surprised to know that the owner's Brother still works there . All his co-workers back in the old salon hated him for his attitude and non work ethic. I even remember that the salon was charged by the state board because of that same person working there without LICENSE. I witnessed him many times trowing tantrums inside the salon where there were customers around. He even stole some of other stylist customers. I am very disappointed with the owner. Why is he still allowing this kind of "circus" ? The salon has a lot of potential compare to other asian salon. Although this salon charge a little bit more than others. I still like my stylist. I hope the owner of Monet will consider pruning and getting more workers with more work ethics and with the right to work as Hairstylist. I am aware of the consequences of this posting and I know my rights as a customer because I work for county and this is not acceptable anymore. I went to this salon after reading Erica's review which sounded real to me, and I took a chance and all I can say is WOW!!! J-LO is really the best hair stylist in the valley! I have been to "Great" hairstylists in NY and Beverly Hills and never expected to find this kind of professionalism and expertise here in the valley! and in a small unpretentious, friendly environment. Even though J-LO did not have great hair to work with, (my hair is very thin and dry) he did an amazing job! Not much small talk either which I really appreciated. The more talk, the less concentration on the work . He did a dry cut which is much more work since the hair has to be straightened first. Not many hairstylists know how to do this kind of cut. It's worth even to drive there from Santa Monica or Beverly hills if you have to! Don't miss this great hair stylist! Also, I am not asian so he can cut any hair! Mine is a bit wavy. Have been going here for years. It is very busy on the weekends, so I suggest making an appointment. My whole family gets their hair done by Niela. It is about $25 for short hair and $30 for medium/long hair. I believe it is less for men ($20?). For kids it's $15. Quite a pretty penny imo but even after 6 weeks or so, my hair still "maintains its shape" and it still looks healthy. I love how every stylist they have uses the razor type scissors-it makes my hair look so bouncy, voluminous and glossy (I have normal, thin, straight hair), like I mentioned, even after weeks. I also recommend Myrna, who rents a chair here (so call in advance). Also, their receptionists are very sweet. read more
