Establishments like this recycling center are a major reason we are happy we've settled down in Livermore. As a family with young kids, we always take them along when we recycle, so they can learn about the benefits and observe the process first hand. So we appreciate being able to pull up in our van and pop the trunk while a staff member walks over with large bins to unload our glass, cans and plastic, weighs it all and then comes back with a printed receipt. At which point all you need to do is stand in line to get paid for your good recycling habits. Doesn't get much easier than that. The staff here is amazingly friendly and polite, and they give you your money with thanks and a smile. And prices are excellent as well. So come on over - no excuse not to recycle, at least not if you're a Livermore resident! read more

We pulled into this center and there were multiple cars unloading. I had the pleasure of meeting a young kid (sorry I didn't get his name) He heard me ask the lady in the office what do I need to do its my 1st time here... He immediately said I will help you & did so. had a conversation about basketball teams as we separated all the stuff. very polite, good manners young man. Mid-day on a Thursday afternoon and there was no wait. By the time I had parked, one of the workers was already dragging a garbage can out to me. He weighed my aluminum cans and handed me a receipt; I was in and out of the cashiers office in 2 minutes with my lunch money in hand! This is an amazing Recycling Center with some friendly and helpful staff. You pull into the location and park your car in spots. You can either hop out and place the cans and bottles in bins yourself or they can do it for you. I have been here during 100 degree weather and those guys are out there working hard for your recycling needs. Of course we are all sweating by the end but it is nice to know they are there to help. Often if you are working by yourself, an employee comes and helps you out. You take the bins to be weighed and they show you how much it is that you brought in. You then take the receipt to the office and then you get paid. I have never recycled metal so I have no idea how that works. I have been to many other recycling centers across California and I must say this is one of my favorites. read more

The biggest incentive for me with this recycling location is the convenience of how it is located very close to where I live. I can load up all of my bottles on any given day and drive down the street. The rates seem competitive although I have not researched what else is in town for recycling. I prefer an actual full location versus a truck or kiosk and the staff have always brought garbage cans over to help me load all my stuff and make my visits a 5-minute adventure. And per what a yelper mentioned (below) I have never experienced a time when they have been closed during what is supposed to be regular business hours. been coming every few mos w/ fam's recyclables...yea, they (not i) drink a lot of soda & some juice... easy peasy here, unlike any others i've seen...not that i've been to many... glad i found it on yelp...it's true what others have said...they're well-staffed, organized & helpful...a lil surprising for this type of place... when u pull up into the lot, 1 or more of the guys come right over w/ bins to help u unload & sort...then put u in the weighing line, which moves quickly...very efficient...u take your slip inside to the lady, who gives u cash while u clean your hands w/ fragrant antibacterial "Wet Ones"...she's very polite too... btw, over $100, requires license plate #... in general tho, CRV rips u off (fyi in case u haven't figured it out!)...with ANY recycling center u go to, haven't u wondered y u got so lil back for what u know the stores charged u & you're sssupposedly gonna get back?!?...the weighing redemption method alwaz underpays...my bud told me a while ago u could tell them to HAND COUNT your plastic bottles (cans seem to be more accurate...might be a hassle to count anywaz)...if u don't have like a hundred, this is def. the way to get your $$ back...so, there's your helpful tip! ;-) ...keep in mind that most other centers don't have nice ppl like here tho... read more

Prior to going to the bottle depot I sorted my recycling by soda cans, plastics, beer bottles and scrap liquor glasses. When you arrive at the facility you drive directly into a bay, pop your trunk and a team of guys are ready to help you unload into their bins. Afterwards, your deposits are weighed and you are given a receipt to take to the counter to get your refund.The process takes no more than a few minutes. They staff are very friendly. My initial thought was I would rather drink paint than go to another recycling center. I had a bad experience at one before which left me to believe that a Recycling Center is where happiness gets dumped...not bottles and cans. This little center has restored my faith in RC's because..... -The employees are helpful and they are actually NICE. -They are super fast. They come with bins, take your stash to the weighing station, give you are receipt, then you go to the office and get your money. Even on a busy Saturday I was out of there in ~5min. For what it's worth, my goods were pre-rinsed, pre-sorted, and flatted out. All of which (I think) are unnecessary but that did streamline the process. read more

I swung by this place a few months back because it was so conveniently located near my house and i needed to get some recycling done. I planned to be there for awhile and walk out with maybe $12 total. i went on a weekday and there was one other person in front of me and I still got in and out in about 3-5 minutes! The worker helped me unload my car and put everything in their cans (he said I didnt even need to help but I still wanted to). Then he weighed the stuff gave me my slip to get my cash and I ended up walking out with $28 and some change! I was totally jazzed seeing as how when i lived in Fremont I used to drive to Newark to get my recycling done, it would take forever and Id get barely anything back when i had even more than I brought to this place. My visits recycled because I keep coming back. I recently moved literally up the street and this is my favorite place getting my deposit money back from the State. What makes this place great is the service. When they see you coming in a coupe packed full with black Hefties, they come up to you with empty buckets and may help you fill and drag them to the scale. One thing to be prepared is being fortunate enough to find parking. Otherwise its a cluttered mess! Be careful pulling out, the turn to your left is quick and a large SUV may be staring at your driver's side door within a blink of an eye! read more

This place is awesome :) I went there for my first time today. At first, I was a little confused about how it works, but I easily found an employee (they all wear the shirt of the place) and figured it out in no time. You can take all your stuff, even unsorted, and divvy it up into the center's garbage cans. Then, they weigh your items and give you a receipt for your recycling. You take the receipt inside the booth and get cash! Awesome!!! I brought in 6 kitchen bags of soda cans and got $60! Thanks everyone! read more

As recycling centers go, they've got my vote. Not that I spend a lot of time shopping around for them. I'm in and out reasonably fast (typically under 5 minutes), and they're able to deal with -- and pay cash money for -- oddball metal (had a stack of old aluminum computer installation parts) as well. While I'd be even happier of those 20 pounds of scrap were paid out at the $2 CRV aluminum can rate instead of the 60¢ scrap metal rate, I can't complain much at emptying my trunk and adding $38.10 to the wallet. They're pretty helpful with bringing the empty bins right to the car, and tolerant as well -- this time around my stuff wasn't separated (boo on me, but two bags came from elsewhere this time), and their guy helped break down the plastics and cans and even pulled off some conversational banter in the process. Good times all around, and you get paid for it to boot. read more

It's been a while since i've been to this recycler. I showed up on a busy saturday afternoon and an employee greeted me and helped me unload my truck into their garbage bins. They even separated my aluminum and plastic for me. Good refund rate for metals and plastics, but the service here is great. read more

11:00AM This is our first visit here. There were quite a few people ahead of us, but the workers here have their system down! A worker guilted me to a parking spot and my son n I began to unload our car. The open bins were available quicker than we could unload. I was asked to move my car up one space on their driveway. By the time I got back to the line which was just a few steps from where I parked, they had already helped my son move through the line and our receipt was ready. So efficient and friendly! Friendly and polite service, they will help unload the recycling from your vehicle and sort it out for you if it wasn't already pre sorted. They are open most days, which I like and are obviously closed if the weather is bad (rain, high winds). I've been coming here for awhile and have no complaints. They do also have a scrap recycling yard, so they do take more than just bottles and cans. read more

I came here for the first time since Century Recycling near Vasco is now closed. I really miss that place.... Anyway, I get here about 11:20am on Friday and it is jam packed. The lot is full of cars and tons of people are in front me. Had to wait a few minutes before a worker came over to my car with some garbage cans. I ended up with 2 garbage cans of plastics and one can of aluminum. I drag the cans over to the line of folks ahead of me that are waiting to get their cans weighed. I slowly inch up towards the front where one guy is waiting for the scale operator to print out their receipt so they can bring it to the cashier and get paid. In the meantime, one of the workers drags my can of aluminum to the scale. I'm looking around while waiting for the guy to finish up ahead of me and after awhile I notice a different worker in the back pulling my can of aluminum off the scale and taking it back to the aluminum bin for emptying. I assumed the scale operator had weighed my aluminum while waiting for the receipt to print. Anyway, the guy in front gets his receipt and the scale operator drags my two cans of plastic to the scale and weighs them. As she's printing up my receipt, I ask if she got my aluminum. She nods her head (I don't think she really speaks English too well.) I take my receipt to the cashier and look at it. I only see the plastic listed--no aluminum. I have to go back to the scale operator and wait a bit longer before another worker comes over and asks what the deal is. I tell him and he tries to fill a garbage can with some aluminum to approximate what I had. Pretty sure I ended up getting short-changed in the deal, but at least I'm not getting entirely ripped off. I get paid and can't wait to get out of there. I appreciate that they tried to fix their error, but it was so disorganized there I'm not surprised that it happened. Also, this place is a lot less clean than Century Recycling was. (Really sorry that they closed, btw) read more
