Though this theater isn't anything amazing (small screens and no stadium seating) I just realized how great this theater is after leaving Davis. Why you wonder? Two words. Tuesday specials. $5.50 for ANY* movie, even ones that just came out the previous week. (*extra $2? for 3D) + if you go before 6, there tends to not be very many people, so if you go 30 min early, you'd easily get choice seats. Parking is right up stairs and is good for 3 hrs. No limit after 6pm and Sunday. One warning though, previews take up a whole 30 minutes. read more

Same as the other one in town, essentially. Parking here is a little rougher sometimes, given it's proximity to the more active heart of downtown. Tip, head for the roof level straightaway. You can usually park closer to your choice of stairs/escalator with less fuss. Facility-wise, it works. A well-maintained older space with comfy seats, tasty popcorn, and clean bathrooms. Still have not been to this theatre to watch a movie. I'm just updating my review from last time. It still doesn't rid my previous experience. My bf wrote an email to the theatre because when he called no one picked up. Two weeks later he received a letter with two commentary tickets to watch any movie since we bought two from fandango. Not particularly noteworthy. I stop in here at one of the two Regal theaters in Davis for $5 movies on Tuesdays. The staff at these Regals always check your ID, and they don't give you the student discount if you don't have your student ID, just warning you. This theater is a lot older. There's parking above the theater, so thats a plus. Its kinda cramped though...so dont be surprised if some drivers give your car a "love tap." I've also noticed that although this is the older theater out of the two regal cinemas down town, that they seem to purposely have the newer and popular movies play at this venue. I love $5.50 Tuesdays! This is the main theater in Davis, and it's especially popular on premiere nights and discounted Tuesdays (if you have a regal card, which you can get for free at the window). The theater itself isn't big and there's a medium-ish amount of seats, but it's what you'd expect for a small town. The projectors here are a little older, but hey with tickets less than $9 I can't complain. There's a parking lot connected that has 3 hour parking, but the spaces are small and I prefer street parking if I'm able to get a spot. I come here often with my job where I work with disabled adults and they are so good to us! Everyone is always patient,friendly and accommodating. They have even helped carry snacks to the seats for our participants who are unable to carry items. They have also let us hang out in the theater way before the movie starts on hot summer days. Prices are movie theater prices we all know what we are getting into when we go to the movies. Never experienced a projector problem and the picture and sound are always great. My biggest complaint is that the seats are tiny I'm a curvy gal but I've never felt uncomfortable in theater seats like I do here. Even my pretty slim fiancée complained that the seats were really narrow. Bottom line the customer service in my experience has gone above and beyond and that's why I will continue to go here even if I don't love the seats. read more

This theatre is great because it is much more comfortable and spacious inside than the Regal 5 and located next to Four Seasons and CREAM! I appreciate how the staff sometimes sections off lines diverting the crowd from crowding the ticket booth before a popular show. I don't really like the location and trying to find parking, however.  This theatre is always bustling with students from the University or the high schools and junior high schools. Family and the cutest old couples of all kinds can be expected here. The street art on the benches out front are also a nice indicator of the diversity and unity that every inch of Davis has to offer. My favorite is the giraffe neck, lol.  The theatre staff is very family friendly and I have never had an unhelpful or unaccommodating moment of service here. I also like how they have healthy options to eat besides candy at the front desk. The ordering area inside is small but the theatre also includes an arcade behind the ticket collector! It is nice to see these "original video games" are still a hub for younger and older kids. (Blondies also has this but its more for older crowds...) Helpful Parking Tips: *Best to drop off right in front (min loading zone only) to purchase tickets than drive forever to find parking. *There is extra parking across the street next to the log cabin for Boy Scouts (about 50 spots max) otherwise the parking structure is convenient but always a HASSELL to navigate when movie lets out read more

The theater is a bit small so show up early enough to pick your seats. The chairs are very comfortable and it's a Regal theater so use your Regal card. The popcorn and Diet Coke are good as usual. Their parking was convenient as the first 3 hours in the garage are free. read more

We went to see Rogue One recently and the auditorium was freezing. We were wearing multiple layers and suitably equipped for the cold weather outside, but not so much inside. We left halfway through. Not worth $25 read more

My daughter & I came here for the 1st time yesterday for a 4:45 pm movie. The theatre is very small...about 6 auditoriums, I think. We got the Zap pack at the concession stand. Pretty cheap; paid $5.75 for a little tray if popcorn, small soda & a tiny Welch's gummy candy. There were only 6 other patrons watching the movie so it was pretty nice to actually be able to watch it & not get distracted by loud, inconsiderate people. They do have an employee that goes in every 15 mins to walk the aisles which is pretty distracting since he had a flashlight. Overall, decent experience. read more

This theater is decent but pretty small compared to Brenden and Edwards and Cinemark. This has a nice parking garage next to it but navigating this lot can be a bit tricky because the area is a bit tight. You will hear lots of squealing of tires as you make turns and edge yourself into the tiny compact spots. Ticket booth is right outside and once you walk in, you see the concession stand which I like because it goes all the way around so the lines a bit shorter if you choose one side or the other. The game area is teeny weeny but kids still seem to enjoy the limited games they have and the theater size is small also. It's in a college town so I thought it would be larger but then again because it's a college town they probably don't have it crazy busy since I would assume students are studying or out to the bars instead. (Or I was....heheheh) Sound system is decent but they seem to have glitches every so often. Nothing to ruin my viewing experience. Also the theater I always end up at, is not elevated. Meaning everyone is pretty much sitting/watching at the same level. Unlike Edwards you are climbing stairs for the good seats. Maybe in a few years they could spruce this place up. read more

During our visit to your establishment, my guests and I were harassed by management multiple times. We were not disruptive or offensive in any manner. We stayed to ourselves and enjoyed the movie, laughing, eating our popcorn, etc..When management told us there had been a complaint and asked us to keep it down. We acquiesced. The manager came back in and asked us to leave at which point we agreed and confirmed he would be refunding me the money back due to our inability to watch the movie to completion. On our way out, the manager had 5 officers there "Investigating us for trespassing". We completely cooperated with the officers, gave ID, statements, etc..And was still being threatened to be arrested while trying to leave. I asked the manager about refunding me per our agreement and he then declined. So needless to say I am extremely offended by the treatment we received which I believe may be due to our minority status. If you have any questions or need clarification I have the incident recorded as well. We watched Transformer 3 a few hours ago at the Regal 6 theater. This theater is pretty small but overall pretty clean. They always have issues in the beginning before your movie starts whether the previews have sound and no picture or have no picture but have sound. I usually get popcorn and soda for the movie experience even though it is way overpriced, but what good is a movie if you don't have popcorn and soda? I also decided to get a pretzel with cheese for once. I expected it to taste like Aunty Anne because the picture looked delicious. However, it tasted old and dry with no flavor. We went on a Tuesday because two weeks after the release date of a movie, every Tuesday it's only $5 to watch. That is a deal. No need to bust out your student ID card for a discount. Went to see Ant Man with my boyfriend tonight and the theatre we were in was really warm during the movie. When we came out, they apologized for the broken AC and gave everyone readmission tickets (basically a free movie ticket) which was super nice and unexpected! Awesome customer service! :) read more

My friend and I arrived at this theater at 6:41pm for a 6:45 movie. After parking in a very full lot we found we had to stand in a very long line. After about five minutes we began to get concerned that we would miss the beginning of the movie. I walked up to the front of the line to the man taking tickets. I asked if they had a way to assure that people like my friend and I, who arrived before our movie started, got to see our movie. I pointed out that most people in line were there for movies that started later than our movie did. He said that Tuesday evenings were discount movie nights and it was always very crowded. I also noticed that only one of their box office windows was open for sales. I went back to my friend in the line and signed up with Yelp to write this review. When we got to the front of the line it was 7:03 and the woman at the window said the previews before our movie were over and we'd missed the first three minutes of the movie. I told her that the line was long enough to create a Yelp account and write a bad review and she suggested we see another movie. She didn't offer us anything comped or much of an apology. She said they tell people that Tuesday nights were very popular and that they should arrive 45 minutes before their movie starts. 45 minutes! Most airlines will let you get on a flight if you arrive less than 45 minutes in advance! This is a two-hour movie. Who has time on a weeknight to spend almost three hours going to a movie that takes less than 2 hours and you are still in the same city at the end of it. (Word-of-mouth isn't enough to let people know to come 45 minutes early to a movie, it needs to be online. Now it's online here, maybe the theater can also put it on their site.) with the high cost of movies today i love the tues $5.50 deal that runs all day, not just select hours on all movies, not just the old ones. all you need is a regal card, which is free anyways. on tues that also have a $2 popcorn special. so for less than what a popcorn would normally cost i can watch a move and get popcorn! the parking structure next door has 3 hour parking and if you're patient you can usually find a spot on the top floor, even if the sign says it's full. read more

This place has most of the mainstream movies playing here. They offer student discounts on certain days. The rooms are small, but decent. Staff are friendly some of the times and not so much the other times. Lots of popcorn, drinks and other snacks to choose from. This is one of two Regal theaters I go to in Davis. I brought the boys and came hella early for the 645pm showing of Finding Dori. SOLD OUT, so we decided on the 745pm version in 3D. Not a big fan of 3D cuz it feels like there's a big piece of furniture on my face. Anyways, this theater is always clean and the concession folks are very friendly. I recently went to this theater which is way out of the way for me ... to see Megamind w/ my son on his 5th birthday. It was a Thursday afternoon and seriously we were the only ones in the theater. That was awesome! The customer service was GREAT. The two staff that were there were so nice and actually seemed to enjoy working there. I hope they do. After the movie we used the restroom and it was the cleanest movie restroom I have EVER been in! A pleasant experience on a very special day. read more

Regal is good for two reasons. $5 Tuesdays and the friendly staff. I came here recently to watch the 9:30 showing of Harry Potter 7. However, when I found out that the show was sold out and a line that wrapped around the block I immediately changed my tickets to the 11:00 showing. The ticket attendant took care of that for me immediately. While walking to my car, I saw that they were letting everyone in the theater early because of the chilly night (in the summer believe or not). With services like that, who wouldn't want to come back more often. Also, if you have a smart phone, you can get a free bag of popcorn by checking in. read more

I love the Tuesday $5.50 movie deal. Especially in the summer, I get to watch new movies every Tuesday and it has become a tradition for my boyfriend and me. The theater is in decent size (not as big as other theaters) but everything else is great (big screen and awesome sound system). No problems with service here. The lower rating is for the terribly uncomfortable seats. They don't give at all and are short without much difference in height from row to row. Sitting in the middle row has me looking up at the screen like the the first row of other theaters. Since the chairs have low backs, i have nothing to rest my head on while looking up at the screen and my neck gets strained. Even worse, it's easy for some one i the row in front of you to block your view. Its all terribly uncomfortable. We actually consider which theater a movie is playing in when deciding if we want to see it or not. This theater just really needs to be remodeled. read more
