I seriously am laughing at all the people complaining about the assigned seating. I think it's great. If I want to take my family to the movies I log onto my app, choose our seats and pay. I get there and skip the lines and go sit down. We don't have to drive all the way there and find out the movie is sold out or we can't get seats together. What exactly is the issue? Comfortable reclining seats, clean theaters, great surround sound, large screens, hot popcorn and cold drinks. It's a movie theater. Relax peeps. read more

I have never really had a problem with Regal Cinemas, but I am irate right now. My friend and I tried to go see a movie, 30 minutes before the start time, and tickets were still available: great. But then the person at the ticket window directed us to a screen where we could "pick our seats." Pick our seats? Why? Is this an airline? But, ok. Whatever. We just want to see the movie. But you know what? There were no seats together. WE NEEDED TWO. Two seats. The only two seats next to each other were in the front row, all the way on the right. We then tried the showtime an hour later--inconvenient, but ok. BUT WE ENCOUNTERED THE SAME PROBLEM. There were 10 seats available--TEN TICKETS--but none of the seats were together. We literally had to walk away and leave, and not see the movie at all, because everyone chose their seats like American Airlines, and left one seat in between all of the groups. This was just the most irritating experience I've ever had at a movie theater. I understand that you're trying to make the movie-going experience easier--and I'm all for having pre-orders and having online tickets available. But CHOOSING YOUR SEATS is the most unnecessary, and I've just found out COUNTER-PRODUCTIVE--and dare I say ridiculously stupid--feature I've ever seen. Thanks a lot for having tickets available, but nowhere for my date and I to sit. If this is going to become a new thing, I'm probably not going to bother trying to go to a Regal Cinemas anymore. read more

Easily the worst theater for a cinematic adventure - with the most expensive prices in the area. On a Saturday night, TWO people at the ticket window with lines out of the building. If you were lucky enough to make it through the first round to the concessions there was a minimum 20 minute wait. First of all, what is up with selecting your seat at the ticket counter? This process takes far too long; and what point does it serve other than to hold up the line? This process needs to eliminated a.s.a.p. Once you finally get into your theater the next complaint is about the seating. The vinyl seats are the most uncomfortable seats I've ever sat it. Regal sort of wins by default. Unless there is something great playing at the Music Hall, Regal is the only place to see a movie (Barnz's? Really? It smells and the quality of picture and sound isn't even comparable to Regal). The prices are SKY HIGH. I have a Regal Crown Club Card (their rewards program), so I tend to go on Tuesdays when they give free small popcorns to club members. I also tend towards matinees, because they're less expensive. After enough points on your rewards card, you'll earn free movies, free popcorn, free drinks. Even if you don't frequent, the rewards program is useful. The sound and picture quality is excellent. The seating is comfortable. I like the stadium seating. I tend to buy my tickets there, though you can purchase them online if you care to. The popcorn is bland. Another issue I have with them is cleanliness. Sometimes if you're heading into a busy film, after another busy showtime, they've just swept all the garbage from the previous show underneath the seats. I don't really care to sit in someone else's trash for two hours. They should either tell folks to wait so they have time to properly clean it, or space the showtimes further apart. If you want to see a movie in the area, Regal's the place to go, because it's the only game in town. read more

Used to love this theater, now I avoid it. The new "system" of picking your seats slows the lines down to a crawl as ppl consider the graphic of the theater and select seats. People can't see the actual theater, so it is difficult to judge just which seats they want. How is this an improvement over the old way of just entering the theater and choosing your seats? We went on a weekday, and there was a long line out the door that was barely moving, really we seemed to be standing still. Must need to get here hours before a big movie opening on a weekend. Forget deciding on spur of the moment to go to a movie. They have made it impossible to quickly buy a ticket and enter the theater 5 or 10 minutes before the movie is scheduled (even tho first 10 min is previews anyway). Also found the fully reclining seats less comfortable than the old ones, in which just the back reclined a limited amount. New seats may be bigger, but I did not find them better. read more

Out for a movie, Mission Impossible Rouge Nation. Theater is nice and clean and the staff very courteous. A great surprise was that you now have the ability to pick/reserve where you want to sit in advance (no more front of the theatre neck craning) and even greater is the new reclining power seats (sweet). read more

I have never reviewed a movie theater before, but the other theaters are not this movie theater. First of all, they have beer. Not just Bud Light, but Smuttynose and Magic Hat and... wait, I'm allowed to bring it into the theater??? What wonderful world have I stumbled into? If I'm being honest it was 11:15am, and I think the Smuttynose was like $7.00, but this is not an opportunity to be turned down. Then we enter the theater and I find out my movie seat is basically a lazy boy recliner with raisable foot rest! We saw the Martian in 3D and the matinee price was $14.00, but between the chairs and the beer, this was easily the best $21.00 I spent all day. Oh, and the seats or theater or something do that vibration thing when the bass kicks in. Pretty sweet. Strange things (to me) to note: I guess for all movies, you have to choose your seats on a monitor as you buy them. This definitely flies in the face of the typical move experience where you walk in, and can take a real gander at where you want to sit. You know how it goes, judge the distance from seat to screen, see which people look like they could be really annoying, etc. Well, this is not possible. The advantage, it would seem, is that if you get their early by accident, you can buy particular seats and go walk around the other stores in the area, and come back right before the movie and you've got your seats...unless someone sits in them because they like them better now that they can actually see them (happened to us, so we took some other unclaimed seats.. it was dead at 11:30am). Seems like it has the potential to turn into a real mess on occasion. Oh, and they search bags at least half-heartedly (even at 11:15 am), so make sure if you stock up at Trader Joes or the dollar store next door that you hide that stuff like a drug mule. Next time a blockbuster comes out though, we're making a road trip back to this place. read more

WOW, I read some reviews before I wrote this. Either hate it or love it I guess. Well I really do like it. Get real people, just logon to a computer before you go and pick and pay for your seats. With an I-phone you can go right to the entrance and show your phone confirmation and walk right in - no waiting at the window. I am not spontaneous about movies - I know I want to go and I plan it and it always works out. The reclining seats are great. The movie theatre is clean and you can get good beer and popcorn. It is pretty expensive for the beer but so what it is a nice touch. Does take a few moments in line to get it since you have to get a wrist band and show your license but it's not that annoying unless you don't plan a few extra minutes and expect to walk in and sit where you want. Just takes some getting used to. Everyone we encountered was nice enough and courteous. Good selection of snacks, rest rooms were clean. I've taken my granddaughters and they loved it too. Parking is free and fine - either side of the movie theatre. Anyone that has ever bought theatre tickets on line for any venue would be able to do this easily. The app is awesome and you can plan the whole thing in 3 minutes. Definitely will go back. read more

This theater is very expensive, probably to accommodate for running heat and electricity in such a large facility. Either way, the bathrooms and lobby area tend to be fairly clean which is always a plus. The seats in the theater are moderately comfortable - it's nice to have a slight recline. I give it a 3 because it doesn't particularly strike me as a super great theater. I still enjoy a movie here from time to time. read more

Seating reservation an imbecile arrangement. The theatre should be ashamed of putting seats so close to the screen. Front row -if you haven't been in here before -is placing you less than 6 feet from the front wall of the theatre. Didn't know this walking in and basically didn't get to watch the movie. Faces, shapes all totally disfigured by the angle these seats are at- much much much closer to the front of the theatre than any row I've seen in my life. Waste of time and money. *Review updated.* I just saw Lone Survivor in RPX. The seats were comfortable, the theater has plenty of seating. The sound was phenomenal. So for now, I will bump to a 3-star review. (I'm still pretty irked about the lack of Military discount, but oh well...) I'm giving this theater 1-star for the simple fact this is the only Regal cinema that does not offer a Military discount (and I've been stationed all around the country and world) and you are located less than 5 miles from the only Military base around. Otherwise, it's a decent theater. Nothing fancy here, just a place to go catch a new movie. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Regal Cinema theaters. This one in Newington, New Hampshire is okay not that bad, but a little messy with all the littered popcorn on the floor. I do like the buildings exterior design, very fancy looking. I've been here twice: X-Men DOFP and Edge of Tomorrow. As with all Regal Cinema I dislike how their restrooms are always positioned near the theatre's entrance instead of near the auditoriums. read more

I go here all the time to see the latest movies. It's clean, the food is good (and I always get popcorn and a coca-cola icee) and the bathrooms are well stocked. I actually went here 4 times once to see the movie Jersey Boys. I took my friend and took my boyfriend, both twice. The only criticism I really have would be that I wish movies stayed in longer! But alas, nothing is perfect. The coca-cola icee is my favorite drink, and they are stocked with it more than any other movie theater I've been to, either because they don't have it or it is broken often. Trust me, I've been to the Regal in Sheepshead Bay in NYC. It's not great. This is the best Regal I've ever been to. The seats are comfortable, and like with any theater the air conditioning is on. It's chill but not uncomfortably so, so if you get cold easily bring a sweater! The best thing about the seating is how high up it is from one row to the next, and how high the seats go. It's great because I'm a small female, only 5 foot 3, and I've had large males over six feet sit in front of me, and not block the screen at all due to the seating style. It's awesome to not have to worry about it. Also, the seats can recline slightly. Just enough so you can sit back and feel comfortable without disturbing the people behind you. I also love how the screen opens wider in almost every theater once the trailers start. It's such a big screen and I haven't had any problems with projection here. Overall a great experience, every single time I've been there. And I've been a lot, enough for me to become a Crown Club member. It's close to where I live and it's my most preferred movie theater if I had to chose. read more

It's cheaper to buy a movie on blu day than it is to see it here (even non rpx) most theaters make their money on concessions not regal after paying 14-17$ you then are treated to another 20$ if you want a drink and over salted popcorn. The one plus is the reserved comfy seats. So save this expense for Big films that you need to see on the big screen otherwise skip it read more

I usually love this theater but this time management was really disappointing. A couple came into the 830 showing of Wonder Woman and say in the 2 handicap seats. They were clearly not handicap. I have always gone to this theater. Even when cinemagic opened. But, I went with another person to see the Martian and was confronted with the ridiculous policy of assigning seats!!!!! WHY ASSIGNED SEATS. We couldn't get two seats together except for the very first row. We sat down and found that we were so uncomfortable and the screen appeared so warped and terrible from our view point that we got a refund and and left. 3.5 I have no complaints. The parking was easy. The theater was dead and we enjoyed an entire theater alone for our movie. The chairs are all reclining and comfortable, picking seats is no big deal, there are more than enough of them. It seems to be the new norm. Theater was clean and nothing bad to note. read more

Was super stoked to finally drop in at the cinema after a long college semester, when it all turned to rocks. All being UNH students (18+ years of age) we brought our IDs excited for the night in store for us. Our friend from the beautiful land of Scotland, not having a drivers license came prepared with a college ID, and as a backup, valid proof of visa and passport pictures on his iPhone. Cops and staff were brutally resistant and would not understand the circumstances. If they were any bit understanding this outcome could have been drastically different. I am beyond saddened by this experience and will be sure to choose a different theater to attend to with friends during our four years at UNH. read more

We went to the front desk and got our money back and left. Please Regal Cinemas, go back to the traditional seating procedure. We were at your theater tonight. The volume was so loud it was hurting our ear drums. I told the manager he said he would check it. Ten minutes went by and the volume was unchanged. I asked to speak to the manager again. I ask him if he check the volume and he said he was too busy. Too busy to check the volume when you have a room full of people with damaged ear drums. Pros: Stadium seating, comfortable chairs, modern interiors (sounds strange, I know, but every other theater in the area looks like the haven't renovated the place since they opened) Cons: Almost too many to list. Outrageously over priced tickets and concessions. The RPX experience is nice, but if it's just "superior picture and sound", then why is it available in only one screen? Why don't all the screens have such high quality picture and sound? I'm assuming it's just a gimmick to make an easy buck. I don't like the popcorn here. If you're not careful, the bag will leak and you'll get butter all over your lap. Don't get any butter at all, and it'll taste like you're munching on cardboard. Also, the customer service here is terrible. Some friends and I would always complain to management that the AC is never on during the midnight showings (it would get very hot and stuffy in the theater, by the end of the movie we were roasting), but it's like we were talking to a brick wall. Not once have I felt that any of the employees were concerned whether or not we were having a good experience. Although normally you can buy tickets in advance, earlier this summer I found they weren't selling Iron Man 3 tickets ahead of time, which seemed very unusual. I was offered no explanation at the time, so did some research online. Turns out Regal and Disney were having a spat over how much of a percentage of ticket prices Disney gets. Luckily they resolved the issue, but during my research I discovered that the CEO of the company has been giving herself huge raises while cutting all the other employees' benefits and hours- some sort of protest against Obamacare, supposedly. Learning that the company is making lots of money and could easily afford to employ full time workers with benefits, but specifically choosing not to for political reasons was very disheartening. Lastly, I used to go here all the time for midnight showings. I loved it because it fit my schedule very well and you know all the other people in the crowd are there to see the movie, so you usually don't have to deal with annoying strangers (although not always). Unfortunately they stopped doing them recently, and again I wasn't offered any explanation. I'm assuming it's due to aforementioned cuts to employee hours. So if the company doesn't care about it's employees or customers what does it care about? Making a quick buck, apparently. The theater it self is nice, but at the end of the day it's just a soulless corporation. I'm taking my business somewhere else from now on. read more

Just got home from the 1:00 showing of Last Jedi. The best seats available online were D3 and 4, aisle seats, not the best. When the movie started there were lots of much better, but empty seats in our row and throughout theater 4 that were shown as "sold" a few hours earlier. Nice theater, comfy seats, good movie, but the web site isn't accurate, not even close. Did they sell those seats to "no shows" ? Doubt it. This is not good for us, regulars, and a disaster to the management which might have filled these seats. I just didn't feel comfortable moving to primo seats once the film began. read more

This has been one of the worst experiences of my life. I came to the cinema to watch a screening with my friends, when before we could enter the cinema I was met by a policeman and an employee. I had a student ID, and valid proof of my age on my phone. They told me that no matter what I had it was completely invalid, unlike many places I have visited in the past requiring ID. Not only was I rejected, but I felt personally attacked, the employee woman acted incredibly rude and disrespectful towards me giving me little to no respect, the policeman was a little bit more courteous however still made me feel incredibly uncomfortable. Being from Scotland and having no proof due to medical conditions to have a drivers license they gave me no understanding and made me feel very lonely in such a strange place. I really do believe the employees at your cinema need to realize that a lot of resources are required to come to this cinema and it is insulting how rude they acted towards me. Very very disappointed, I hope something is done about this incident. read more

My friends and I bought tickets online to see the new 50 shades movie and when one friend did not have her ID, we were scolded. I would absolutely LOVE to give this theatre a five star rating. It's convenient, seating is very comfortable, it's usually well maintained..... BUT.... The theatre and the staff absolutely DO NOT CARE about the theatre goers experience when impacted by others. For example, the last three films I've seen there have been constantly interrupted by loud, talking teenagers, out of school, waving their phones around, and talking at full volume w/o any care for others. I've politely asked them to quiet down and when the situation called for more, the staff pretty much gave me lip service and apologized but did NOTHING to deal w/ the situation. Once they have your ticket money, it appears that not one care is given to how others behave. It's truly disheartening when you consider how many other theaters are fighting against the home theatre market. I've actually earned free movie tickets from the Regal crown club app so t is actually legit. I will never use this movie theater again. We showed up and there was a line out the door there was only two attendance at the windows. When we did finally get to the window they wanted to charge us an extra $1.50 on top of our tickets because it was some special viewing. Then after an unnecessary wait because lack of managerial experience we couldn't even find seats together. After showing my frustration to the ticket booth attendant and manager standing behind him nothing was done or said. From now on I will always go to cinemagic in Portsmouth New Hampshire on Lafayette Road because regal cinemas in Portsmouth is a joke. If I could I would leave 0 stars. read more

HOWEVER this theater has had recent updates with less seating larger reclining seats you'd THINK would be comfortable but the back leaves your neck sore after watching a movie. The worst problem is YOU HAVE ASSIGNED SEATS! What??? Does that not sound ridiculous so if you use the self purchase machine and don't pick your seats it doesn't matter how early you are for the movie you'll be stuck in the front of the theater and separate from the people you go with!
