After many years, I returned to this theater. Oh dear god, why?!? I went to see a movie last night and our recliners were broken. I went to see a movie tonight, I was in the first row and got sick watching the movie. The first row should not exist. Even with seats reclined all the way back, you still have to turn your head upwards, and everything is distorted (feet/legs are big, while heads are small). I got sick and couldn't watch. As a parent of a young child, we NEVER get to go out, and this was extra disappointing for me. I didn't want to ruin for my husband, so I closed my eyes and napped sitting up. Save yourself the trouble -- if the only seats that are available are the first row - either break up your party into individual seats and don't sit together OR don't go to the movies. read more

They even have an entire stand that has never been open. If you build they will come....once. if you service properly they will come back. The theaters are rather clean. Well, I'm impressed. The temperature is comfortable. The sound decibels are not intrusive to the ear. The ticket agent was friendly and helpful. He offered to activate a new concessions rewards card, which is normally done at purchase. One concern is that Majestic was almost empty on a Saturday after the biggest snowstorm when everyone was out. Guess it's time to give this place another chance. Ya'all come! read more

We came here on January 2, 2017 to see the Star Wars. Busy movie goer day. We waited in line to get our tickets for a 4:00pm showing and grabbed some late lunch, thank goodness. When we came back and went up the stairs to the theater area, there was a line for the concession stand that filled the zig-zagged ropes in front of the stand and continued back behind the fellow who was checking tickets, and tapered off near the main bathrooms. Definitely a situation where management should have opened up a smaller stand that was located around the corner. Perhaps staffing was an issue. We got into our theater and there was trash everywhere. No one had picked up after the previous showing. I had to go to the bathroom about 30 minutes into the movie. The bathroom was empty except for the toilets filled with wadded toilet paper and other peoples bodily business. I'm talking #2s people, hanging out in more than half the stalls. Toilet paper draped and hanging of the toilet seats. Trash on the floor. Clearly no one had come in to check on the state of the bathrooms for some time. And seriously, shame on the adult human beings that created the mess in the first place. Ya nasty. For real. This wasn't the first time that I have had this experience at this theater. It's perpetually grimier than your average theater. Whoever is in charge is not too concerned about the quality of their facilities. I think we will probably try a different theater for our next movie night. read more

It's a decent theater. When I compare it to the renovated AMC theaters, it falls short. The reclining seats are smaller than the ones at AMC but it wasn't terrible. I mean, they have recliner seats so I can't complain too much. There was a woman sitting next to me whose hands kept creeping up my arm rest. I'm not saying she was trying to steal but I moved my purse because I didn't want anything to come up missing. I purchased a small Powerade, small popcorn and nachos. It cost me $19.79. Positives: surprisingly decent concession prices. Movie food is notoriously expensive, and while there's certainly an up-charge here, you can make out with a decent chicken tender or sandwich meal for less than $10. Parking garages nearby are convenient. Went to a movie on Sunday so it was free to park. Meh: Standard auditorium movie seats. No recliners, but then then again, there's no chance for the awkward seating arrangement if a stranger reclines next to you in a companion chair when you go to the movies alone. No alcohol. Negatives: Movie ticket prices. For such a standard movie going experience, the tickets are at a premium. I'm talking $11+ at matinee times. This is one of the reasons this would not be my first choice theater. However, it was the closest theater to me showing a very limited release film. read more

I initially visited the theater on a Monday evening for a screening, however the screening was full and we were not allow to see the film. We opted to see Murder on the Orient. We purchase tickets through the kiosk which was a breeze. The line for refreshments was not long but didn't seem to move quickly. Like some others noted there were tons of registers but only two were open. The theater was nice. We were able to choose our seats. I didn't realize you could pick your seats. The seats were really comfortable. I would visit again. read more

As my movie-goer friend and I walked up the escalator after paying for our expensive 3D-tickets to see Avatar, I thought about that Mitch Hedberg joke while others behind and in front of us grumbled about the "broken" escalator. (The joke is: "I like the escalator because an escalator can never break. It can only become stairs. There would never be an escalator temporary out of order sign, only an "Escalator temporarily stair. Sorry for the convenience.") Hehe. So yeah, when you enter the theater, the tickets are downstairs and one must ride the escalator (or walk) to the second level where the movie rooms are. We had just come from dinner at Sabroso Grill so instead of standing in line for Regal's horribly overpriced concessions of buttery, oily, artery-clogging popcorn and diabetes-inducing candies and sodas, we just stood in line for the movie. We were able to procure seats in the back that did not have us forcing our bodies back in the seats and straining our necks like the poor people down front. Bonus that the seats were amazingly comfy - I'm told they were memory foam seats - and I wasn't shifting around in my seat as much as I usually do (because of my lower back) so that was really nice. After the movie, as we went down the escalator (yes, the down worked but the up did not), my movie-goer friend kept saying, "Wow, real-life is so dull compared to 3D!" (Read: The quality of the picture/graphics was really impressive.) However, for some reason, it felt like the sound/volume wasn't loud enough for the first half of the movie. I liked this Regal but I still can't understand why everything has to be so ridiculously expensive. I would return to this theater if only to eat dinner at Sabroso Grill first. :) [PS. What can I say about this place? ...I'll just keep it real. While I may frequent this location with my wine cooler in my purse late on weekends because it's close to my house, its not my first choice for movie viewing because the theater attracts some serious characters. Examples? 1) People coming into the movies after the lights have gone down yelling from the end of an aisle, "Hey do you think you can move over so me and my friend can sit together?" Response (yelling of' course) "NO! Now go sit down somewhere" **WARNING** This can happen multiple times in one movie 2) People sitting on the stairs because they came so late they couldn't get a seat (after paying $12.00--why? why are you paying to sit on the floor?) 3) Ladies room never and I mean never has toiler paper and soap. Its always one or the other. 4) The people who come in on a date dressed like someone called them to the run way- 5 inch pumps, multicolor outlandish weaves, spandex pants when they should really have on spanx 5) Kids, ages 2-11, at the 10pm or later showing..waking up crying at some point of course ...I could go on and on but I'll just say this- If you want to see a movie and you live near downtown SS, this place will work. However, if you want to go to a movie causally, with no ruckus, nonsense, or BS- well then you may want to try another theater because you are sure to witness some kind of shenanigans at this place. read more

The women's bathroom near the entrance has 2 soap dispensers for 3 sinks and none of them had soap. I told someone at concessions and they said they would let management know and the next day no change. This was memorial day weekend, opening weekend of little mermaid so huge crowds with kids. bad weekend to have no soap in the bathroom. Also the bathroom always seems really dark. They need to make sure all the fluorescent lights in the stalls are working, a quarter seem burned out at any time. There aren't enough lights in the first place at the entrance to the bathroom or near the sinks. They need to make sure both escalators are working at all times as much as possible. It is a LONG stairwell/escalator and not fun to walk down all those stairs. There is an elevator but no one seems to use it. There is an arcade and 20 screens, so basically every movie plays there. They have more screens then movies to fill them, so they play a lot of Indian movies in 2 languages, Japanese, etc. Some movies at the end of the run play only once a day, so plan accordingly. No garage or parking lot just for theater, it is across from a mall and a public parking garage that is free on weekends. walking distance to whole foods, Asian buffet, Irish pub, matchbox, Red Lobster, Copper Canyon Grill, Nandos, Potbelly, Starbucks, Mod Pizza, Eleanor, Chic Fil A, Fillmore Concert Hall, Panera, Thai restaurant, etc. read more

It's a sad fact that I almost never watch movies in theaters anymore. Mostly because I'm tired of the sticky floors and the loud obnoxious teenagers talking through the movie (and no, I was never that obnoxious when I was young. I was funny and adorable!). However, thanks to Kevin L and Yelp's overall fabulocity, I scored free passes to the advanced screening of Star Trek. Yes, I am a Trekkie (NOT a "Trekker"). Yes, I have a Trek uniform (TNG). Yes, Patrick Stewart is the yummiest man alive. Yes, I love Wesley Crusher (and as a by product, Wil Wheaton). Although the new Star Trek movie didn't have my yummy-bears in it, I was still excited. While I'm a TNG girl all the way, I do love me some classic Trek (and until TNG came along, I had the hugest crush on Nimoy. Yes, I was an odd duck) and was uber excited to watch this - even if it meant going to a dreaded theater. The lobby of the Majestic Regal 20 is huge and pretty impressive. After a "stairway to heaven" escalator ride, it opens up into a clean and shiny concession stand. When we were first let in for the 10:30am showing, it didn't look like the concession stand was open (which I thought was rather annoying), but thanks to James L's craving for overpriced popcorn, we realize that although they looked closed, they really weren't. Huh. So I went and got a $5 medium diet coke. Yes, the concession is *WAY* over priced, but I've since accepted it as a fact of life. The seats within the theater were extremely comfortable. James L and Ben M commented on the memory foam - I don't know much about that, I can just tell you that my butt was extremely comfy through the entire movie. Also, to note, the floors were remarkably non-sticky. I still wouldn't set my purse down on it, but at the same time, if I happen to drop something onto the floor, I wouldn't be flipping out about how sticky and gross it was. So that's worthy of another star. All in all, a nice theater that is still shiny and new. Because this was an early morning advanced screening, I don't know what the usual clientele is like. Something tells me that there are a lot of teenagers frequenting this place, which makes me less inclined to visit in the future - however, this is just a supposition and not really based on fact. P.S. I completely agree with Tony P - this place would be SO MUCH more appealing if there was a bar or alcohol was served :) read more

What are you doing here? You are down the street from the AFI Silver and you could be watching something really interesting instead of whatever mainstream movie you are about to sit through. But we can't blame the Majestic for that. Shame on you. Now as far as the theater, since you just HAD to see something directed by Michael Bay or starring Nicolas Cage tonight you have made a solid choice... if you live in the area. What makes this theater good is more its surroundings than anything else. Its a nice theater sure, but nothing amazing. Everything is overpriced, but that is what movie theaters specialize in. But, before and after the movie you are in downtown silver spring. This is where this theater gets a leg up. Pop into Borders afterward and buy that paperback copy of New Moon so you can compare it to the film and see that its not entirely the fault of the director that the movie was awful. Or snag some beers and laugh it up with your friends after watching something big and flashy from James Cameron at McGinty's. You have options, and most of them are really good. Location is the strong suit at this theater. Obviously the screens are nice, and if you want to see something in 3D or with a great deal of spectacle this is the place to go. Apparently they now even have an IMAX screen, even better for those movies that cost the GDP of a small country to produce. Just please, don't plan your evening to just be stopping in, seeing the movie, and running back home. Spend the evening out and enjoy everything else in the area and it will make this theater worth your time. read more

I've been going to this theater for years. Its a true staple if you live in Silver Spring. Plus, there is a parking garage nearby which is free in the evening and on the weekends. And I love my Regal Card. Talk about discounts baby! Each time you use your Regal card, you get points and you will receive a voucher for a free soda / popcorn and even a free movie ticket! :D The bathrooms are fairly clean too. The food choices have improved. You can order chicken strips with french fries, yum! They also have the self check out ticket counter, which is fabulous! read more

I have been a fan and an attendee at this theater for a long time, since it was just the plain old Majestic and not Regal at all. (It used to be part of a much smaller theater chain which was bought out by Regal.) When the handover occurred, I was a bit worried about the "Regalification" of my beloved but, for a while, things ticked on nicely. Saw a movie there last night and now my worries start anew. Still the same 55 million screens. Just seemed a bit run down and "uncheerful." And there was this sewage-y smell in the back corridor where my theater was located. I hope this isn't the start of the decline of this outpost the empire... One thing to remember -- use that Regal Club Card. Unlike AMC's, Regal's is free. And with it you get $2 candy on Monday, $2 popcorn on Tuesday. Movies are still overpriced, compared to the $1 you could spend at Redbox to see it in three months, but at least you can grab a bargain at the concession stand. read more

We went, we saw, we liked. We did notice, however, that they spent all their money on their entrance and neglected the exit. The Majestic is certainly that when you walk in; I mean that in the way that movie theaters are classy, which is not the standard definition of classy, but visually engaging enough to cause you to smirk. An artistic swirl of decorative tile welcomes you, the steep escalators mesmerize and the six-wide set of equally steep stairs make you say, "Hell no!" We got there around 4pm and used the ticket machine; there wasn't a line, but we like to avoid human contact when possible. This proved to be an effort in futility when the machine spit out one mismatched ticket for Indiana Jones vice Kung Fu Panda, so off to Guest Services we went. Thankfully, that was painless. This proved to be a great time to catch a movie; we escaped the sweltering heat, we avoided children at a children's movie and we got those prefect eye-level middle of the theater seats. There may have been 6 people in the theater, but it was bliss. I liked the mobile armrests and the seats are decently comfortable; the theater seemed clean enough to allow me to relax. No glitches in the movie, screens were sharp, sound was crystal, and it was a nice afternoon spent in the dark. Upon exiting, we were met with a large, gray stairwell with a caved in ceiling, and mushy-pool of ceiling fiber in standing water. I smelled glue and rubber. A poor exit that paled in comparison to a rather illustrious entrance. It seemed to say, "We have your money now; we have no further need to entice you with pleasantries." Uh, thanks? read more

It's time for another episode of .... PROS AND CONS! This time for a theater that has it's ups and downs Pro: This theater is in a very convenient location, in the middle of downtown Silver Spring, right near 4-5 parking garages and a Metro station, plus 20-30 restaurants and even more shops. Con: Unless you go to the movies for the matinee times with senior citizens, you will be greeted by long lines in a small lobby. Pros: They solve this dilemma with four very convenient ticket machines for those people who are tech inclined and don't want to stand in line. Con: Sometimes the machines are out of service (seriously, how hard is it to screw that up!?), making the lines for the machines longer than the regular lines. Also, people who are not tech inclined get in this line, and then slow it by messing up their order, then asking the person behind them for help while the 50 people behind them send glares their way. Pro: Friday night showing of 'Ted' was packed, but it was great because Ted was funny and there was a live laugh track. Great experience when it was working. Con: The film started 20 minutes late, and no one on the theater staff knew, so a guy had to go get someone to start it. Con: Because it was late, they skipped the previews. Con: About ten minutes before the film ended, during a critical emotional, end-of-movie scene where the dialogue was ENTIRELY important to the ending, the sound shut off, the lights came on, and elevator music started playing (wait for it) WHILE THE FILM CONTINUED ON THE SCREEN!!! Couldn't have been worse timing. (were there just 3 cons in a row? is that some kind of record? what about the Pros? No, there were not 3 in a row. There are FOUR CONS IN A ROW!!!) Con: I ran outside and flagged down a staff member with a headset, thinking maybe they could stop the film, cue the sound, rewind it, and show us the ending. After all, EVERY CHEAP ELECTRONIC DEVICE EVER HAS THIS CAPABILITY!!!! The employee spoke into their headset and it took five minutes before a security guard showed up because more angry people were exiting the theater. The film had ended and 400 angry customers were clogging the exit waiting for some kind of response. Pro: They eventually decided to give us free movie passes, which was a nice gesture. Con: Is it really that hard? Is it too hard to have your movie start on time? Obviously everything is on timers! So someone who has the job of SETTING TIMERS screwed up. How hard can that be? And there is no reset button? No double-checking when the film starts late! And it was like the employees had never had to deal with a customer before. Like the job application had said 'no experience needed, only vaguely beating heart and mouth that drools' Completely ridiculous experience, 0 stars, somebody should have been fired or disciplined, but no one even tried to deal with the customers. Look, movie theater. THE ONLY thing you have going for you is big screens and sound and those things working. Your employees are dumb, your snacks are expensive, but if your theater simply PLAYS A MOVIE CORRECTLY, everyone will forget the bad and be happy. But you couldn't even get that right. What would happen if you took one of the nicest movie theaters in the area and filled it with the worst movie patrons on in the world? There's no need for theoreticals here. Just head to Silver Spring! While this movie theater should have, literally, everything going for it to be a great place to catch a flick, its reality falls far short. It's right in DTSS so it has location. There are tons of pre-movie dining and drinking choices (which might be part of the problem). It has amenities galore! The theaters have plush seats, nice cup holders, a very extensive refreshment menu (real restaurants giving them usage rights). Plus they show nowhere else does, using their additional screens to show art films and Bollywood blockbusters, but... The cinema is populated by the most annoying customers on Earth. I literally breathe a sigh of relief if my theater is empty. And cringe whenever the first additional person walks in. I know they'll be a douche. It doesn't matter who they are. In my times here, I have witnessed the following: - Someone paying the surcharge for a 3D movie and texting on their cell phone the entire time. They did at least step out when they took a call. - Someone translating a movie, word-for-word, from English to another language to their date. - Kids screaming along with the roller coaster graphic at the beginning of all films at Regal Theaters. What's the point in paying $12.50 (the same price as a film is in Chinatown) to not be able to have peace and quiet and enjoy a movie? I know, I know. It's for maintaining the theater. But kicking out half the patrons would do a better job of that. read more

I recently visited the Majestic to see the Dark Knight Rises. Yes, I actually went after the tragedy so that being said, I will speak about the security to make you guys feel safe. When you walk up to the theater, there is a cop car sitting right there and there are always cops around. Amen to that! Once you get into the theater, employees come in from time to time to see if anything funny is going on, which is also good. I felt very safe and enjoyed the movie. This theater is also clean, HUGE, and pretty typical. Bring your wallet...we all know going to the movies is expensive these days. read more

Went here to watch Greenbook and loved the facilities! The chairs are lazy boy recliners and are very comfortable! They are also large enough for you to fee like you have your own space rather than crammed next to other people. They have an attached parking garage that they offer parking validation and doesn't require payment if you leave after 9pm. Their was no queue for tickets or food/drink. The staff were helpful and friendly! read more

Having a rat run by your foot is never the business. This is even less cool when a fat, chunky rat is running past your foot in a dark movie theatre. I go to complain and the staff is seemingly not surprised by my rat sighting. An exterminator comes to the location in regular intervals. Rat spotting is apparently some sort of sport there, that will win you vouchers to return to the movies at some other interval. Please tell me why I would want to come back? Keep your vouchers. Instead, please invest in cleaning after the audience has left. Coming into a dirty movie theatre is gross. It is also a high probability that this is the cause of the rats. The only bright side is this place is super convenient. There are limited movie going options in this region. So, inevitably, I will probably end up there again. But I will avoid it if I can. This place may be regal for the rodents, but not so much for me. read more

I wouldn't normally trek out to Silver Spring to go to the movies. Scratch that, I wouldn't trek out to Silver Spring to go to the movies, but I had scored two free passes to the advanced advanced screening of Hangover 3 (I love "guy" movies) at this location and dragged a gal pal of mine to come instead of meeting for happy hour like we had originally planned that tuesday night. Few blocks walk from the Silver Spring metro, lots of stores/chain restaurants around, lots of little children and underage teeny bobbers. Free movie. Average movie theater aka overpriced snacks, cushion seats with armrests that go up and down but not like the leather recliner equipped with cup holders out here in Arlington, regular screens (granted great picture quality but not really IMAX quality). Long line, staff checks bags to "make sure you don't bring any recording devices or firearms" Oh right.....yikes! We get in and boy now I know why I prefer to wait til the movies hit red box.....no babies, no obnoxious laughing from some chick in the back, oh and they even paused the movie and brightened the lights so some other chick could YELL asking if anyone had found/taken her jacket? errr Ghetto fab/classy much? Other than the movie was pretty funny and you can't beat free but next time, I'll just wait til it hits up RedBox.... After the movie, we hit up Chipotle and people watched. I like this theater. It is in a great location in Silver Spring. There are several nearby parking garages that are free in the evening & weekends. The seats are comfy and the employees do a great job at cleaning out all the "goo" that can collect on a theater floor. The sound is excellent in theater one. We saw a screening of Mission Impossible 5 there. It felt like we were riding along with all the chaos. If you have a Fandango issue, there is a help desk upstairs. If you want to grab a bite after a film, there are lots of restaurants within walking distance of the theater. read more

I'd give it 5 stars because it does what it does - it shows movies and it's a nice theater in terms of layout and the amount of screens....BUT I have to give it 4 stars just because of the area/general atmosphere. It's located right in DTSS, so if you go a little father down, the neighborhood gets pretty bad, and on the other side, you can go right off to 16th street. I had a ride-along with an officer in DTSS and he said he would never go to this theater just because of the amount of crime, but hey, I used to come here all the time when I was in high school and while there are always a large number of middle school/high school hooligans either inside or outside, I never personally witnessed anything awful. read more

Feeling a little Regal™ tonight? Head on over to the wonderous Regal Majestic Stadium 20. TWENTY theaters. Epic size. IMAX. What more could you want? The other great thing about this theater is the area around it. This is a very cool shopping/eating area and is an incredibly fantastic place for a dine/movie date night. NOTE: SEVERAL BUSINESSES OFFER MOVIE DEALS! First eating at Potbelly for example gets you your movie tickets for $8! And many other restaurants on the strip have similar deals, so think before you preorder your tickets online. Another bonus about this theater is that while it has tons of movies, it also plays them very late on Friday/Saturday. Some even as late at 12:45 AM. So plan a night of it! Parking for this place is stellar. As the lot has yet to implement its payment policy, parking for the whole shopping area is free! Capitalize on this now, because you can tell they are building their system for eventual payment upon entry to the lot. For now the gate is raised and you can park for free! The theater has great seats whose arm rests you can lift up to nestle up closer to your loved one. The Regal stars lining the panels of the walls stay very dimly lit which accents the theaters nicely. Overall, this is a stand up place and I'll always be coming back! read more

It's big, it's close, and it's easier to see a big commercial release here than certain other major metro-accessible movie theaters. Is it the best? No. Could it be better? Definitely. You might have to dodge a flock of teens or persistent street solicitors but after you make it to the safety zone of the lobby you're home free. When inside you'll notice that it's surprisingly big inside (at least to me it was) comprised with two levels - downstairs line purgatory with several kiosks and the main box office windows - and upstairs with many screens - imax & 3D included - and multiple concession stands. Seats in the theater are comfy. The bathrooms are usually consistently run down and the stalls tend to stay without toilet paper so bring your own. Ticket prices are obnoxious but not as offensive as the concession prices. Just bring your own snacks in your pockets or pocketbook. Just make sure it isn't mega smelly... The Majestic is a great movie theater in downtown Silver Spring. Right next to Borders, across the street from Chick-Fil-A, and a 10 minute walk from the Silver Spring Metro Station, the Majestic offers 20 screens with wonderful sound, stadium seating, an arcade, and concession stands that actually have people behind the register. The only reason this place doesn't get that last star of perfection is because I've heard better sound, and they don't have IMAX. But besides that, this place is great. Don't worry about annoying kids. Sure, there are your obnoxious high school kids who find the need to blurt things out in the middle of a movie, but you'll find annoying kids just about anywhere. However, for the most part, this won't be a problem. This isn't the old Shity Place *cough* I mean City Place theater. There's more security to make sure that the area's newly refurbished atmosphere and clientele are safe from those rambunctious rapscallions (30 and over crowd slang). It seems as if the high school/wannabe badass and the middle school/awkward-and-chirpy crowds know their place. The Majestic is a great place to take a date, hang out with your buddies, or even spend time with your family. Oh, and you have to try the stuffed pretzels. P.S. The tickets aren't that expensive and they have credit/debit card kiosks to buy your tickets if you don't feel like waiting in line. Although if you're stuck behind some technology challenged old fart that wouldn't know a PSP from a PDA then you might be SOL. read more

This place is SOO pretty on the outside. Having recently moved here, we decided to check it out for hubby's birthday last week. Major plus that it's downtown Silver Spring, so it's within walking distance for us. The line was super slow on labor day when many people were off and heading to the movies. The ticket machines were broken, so you couldn't just use the automated service, and they only had two cashiers who albeit were not even friendly. We decided to get popcorn and a soda. There were only two lines open (again it was labor day so they should expect more business that day), and one cashier was standing at the register, had a line, but every time someone got behind the last lady in line she told the next customer that she was instructed by the cashier to tell them she was closed. How much sense does that make? That lady doesn't work there. She's there to buy a snack and enjoy the movie for crying out loud! The theater was small, but who cares, we found easily found a seat. The real problem, if we weren't annoyed enough as it is, was the people. These people are sooo rude. We got the last two seats on the end and people were literally standing up in front of me blocking the screen. I don't know if people up north are just rude since I just moved here from ATL, but DANG QUIT STANDING IN FRONT OF PEOPLE WHEN THE MOVIE HAS STARTED!! Throughout the ENTIRE movie (and we were seeing Dark Knight so you know we didn't want to miss a beat it was so good), people were walking in front of people coming in and out. If you have a weak bladder- sit on the end PLEASE! The final straw was when a woman FELL into another person's lap on our row as she was trying to walk in front of him DURING THE BEST SCENE OF THE MOVIE (y'all know what I'm talking about!) This place is wild. From the nonchalant cashiers, slow people, dirty theater (did I forget to mention that), and rude people walking in front of the screens. Will we be back? Sadly yes. We can walk to the theater, don't have to pay for parking, and grab a bite to eat on the way to or from. Shrugs. Poor customer service wins again! read more

I made the mistake of going to see "The Forbidden Kingdom" on opening night. An older couple could not stop talking during the movie for the life of them. I hate this, very much. I asked them to stop talking twice, and they continued to add their own dialogue regardless. I finally got fed up and went to get an usher. They didn't show up after 30 minutes, but the couple instantly quieted down. When the usher left, they resumed their mindless commentaries. There should be ushers going about and monitoring each theater, especially on opening night. It makes any movie experience less enjoyable when some nuthead talks. There were a bunch of unhappy customers beside me ... (Besides, no one should have talked when Jackie Chan finally confronts Jet Li. Oh my gosh, it was wicked awesome.) read more

No spoilers here on movie screening just review of theater I finally attended a free advance screening at this location. The screened it in IMAX. They had us line up against wall up at the top of the stairs. The line was tailing down the steps. They decided to move us close the the theater room. Wait what...there is already people lined up. I thought I was 50th in line has now turn to 100th in line. Normally they seat half hour before screening. Someone didn't get the memo. Screening will start in 15 minutes and we are still lined-up against wall. We are told to get our snacks while waiting to be seated. Yeah right and lose my SPOT. Oh no!! I did not use the concession stand as I was more focus on getting into free screening of Terminator Genisys. . The lines there (concession) looked like it was moving slow fast. Yes , you have to see it in action to understand slow fast. Yes, we made it in for seating. This is the biggest IMAX theater I have seen. So, yeah it felt like climbing Mt Rushmore but the view was worth it. I love how they first start all IMAX movies with the count down. It feel so close and loud. the sound went though my body. Speakers everywhere the sound was ok. Only problem the floors are sticky and I don't want to guess what it could be. My shoes need a vaccine for sure. The restrooms were clean...I know finding clean restroom is like a needle in a haystack. I will be back! read more

Regal Majestic - View from the top - Cinema Near Me - Silver Spring, Maryland

I am only reviewing Regal Majestic because I hosted a private screening of a movie, and was annoyed by the service. I was told that my group could arrive early, a group of high school students, so that they could settle down before the movie began. I arrived even earlier to make sure that the theater was ready to accommodate my group, and found that the manager was not there. The lights were off, and the staff seemed a little concerned. Once the manager arrived, he did not let my group sit in the theater, so they were left to mill about outside and in the theater lobby. On the plus side, the theater staff quickly and courteously served all 100+ students. They were great (plus one star)! The movie began late, and with technical difficulties. Staff from my group had to tell the theater that our movie was lacking sound and then FROZE. Ugh!! While Regal Majestic is fine for seeing the new Batman movie, this place is NOT the place to host a private screening. read more

This is a big Regal. We enjoy watching shows here. I am giving an average rating because they are often understaffed and this leads to 'waits.' The waiting is for everything-getting your tix, having them torn, refreshments...you get the picture. Do not run in here the last minute thinking you'll get in quickly. It's walking distance from where I live so I'm biased (since I don't have a choice). This theater is full of teenagers, which is highly entertaining, but can be really annoying at times too. If you're looking for a horror movie, action movie etc. then be prepared for it to be sold out, as it's the popular categories that all teenagers check out at this location. If you're going for an artsy/ boring/ historical type movie, then you really won't have to worry about it selling out here. Word of advice sometimes dealing with real people, over machines to buy your tickets moves faster. So just check out both lines when you're looking for tickets. Or I'd strongly recommend buying tickets online in advance in case it does sell out (since that happens A LOT for almost all movies here). The space is HUGE, the food is expensive...so sneak in your own snacks?...there's a CVS around the corner...just saying. shhhh don't tell them I said so. I've smelled someone with Moby Dick's before...straight up Middle Eastern food in the theater being eaten, haha. True story. It wasn't me, I promise. read more
