Had been going to this salon for pedicures for awhile. Was always happy with the experience and the price, though I always noticed one of the techs seemed mean and rude to whoever she was working on. The last time I went, only that tech was available. I had decided to give my nails a break and go with regular polish, not gel. She told me it would be $5 to remove my gel polish, I said that was fine. She kept repeating that it would be $5, and why don't I want gel again until I gave in. I chose a light pink, she said it is too light and wouldn't look good. She picked a fruit punch color and said it would look better. I really just wanted to relax so I wasn't going to argue with her, she was very pushy. While smoothing my nail, she was careless and scraped a knuckle, causing an abrasion. Then, whatever she put on my feet burned the open wound. She was taking calls from her husband and complaining about working multiple jobs. It was the middle of the afternoon so she asked me why I wasn't at work, like I was some spoiled princess (it was my one day off). When she was finished and I was getting up, she held out her hand and asked if I was going to tip her in cash. I just wanted to get the hell out of there. The polish was sloppy, and it took a few days of neosporin and a bandaid for the abrasion to heal. I'm never going back. read more

UPDATE June 4, 2024: I'm telling you, this guy ( they call him "The Old Man" because almost all the other workers are young gals, lol) is a Miracle Worker"! I waited too long to come back in, ( see earlier review last year) and eventually the nail became very sensitive and gnarly and had started growing into the skin on my big toe. He was able to trim it down to where it looks SO much better, and eliminate the source of pain. (My nail was so THICK, he even broke a pair of clippers on it! ). Plus he did a great job on all my other toenails as well. I'm not going to wait a year to come back this time, lol. THANK YOU. read more

The past few times I have been there have been ok but this last time was horrible I believe the guy who did my nails were Kevin and he put tons of nail glue on my nails and I'm trying to get them off and they are not coming off because they are so unbelievable uncomfortable and was chipping already and I will not be going there anymore because of this and they didn't even give me the design I asked for I asked for a snowflake and the guy who did them said that he doesn't know how to do designs nor how to make a snowflake out of gems either Im pissed!!! read more

A great place to get your nails done with unbeatable prices. Don't let the location being inside of Wal-Mart fool you. They provide 5 star service. They're clean and prompt and have a group of friendly staff who listens to your wants. I love that they line their pedicure tubs with a plastic wrap for each client - very hygienic. I got an off white pearly dip powder- a new technique in the nail industry. Many salons do not yet offer this service. Similar to gel/shellac, but better! It makes your nails stronger, and the finish is glossy and beautiful! Only 5 more dollars than a gel manicure, it's definitely worth the price. This beautiful set only cost me $35, whereas at outside salons, this would be nearly $50-60+ dollars. read more

These are the last 2 sets I've had done at Regal Nails. All of their techs are so talented and friendly, but Kelvin did so amazing with the flame designs that everyone thought they were stickers. I'd give 0 stars if I could. I have been getting my nails done consistently for 7 years and I have never had such a bad experience. Since March when my regular place closed, I have been trying to find a new nail salon. I decided to try Regal Nails simply because it's closer to my house than the other place I've been going. What a mistake. The prices are typical of other salons. $35 for powder dip and $25 for a pedicure, but the workmanship of the techs is subpar. I left with nail polish on my skin on the sides of my big toes, but compared to the horrible powder dip job on my nails, that was the least of my concerns. The tech filed too much in the middle of the nail and not enough on the top and bottom which made ripples. In fact, she filed so much in some areas, the powder was much thinner so the color looked faded in those areas. I asked the tech to fix them, which she did, but they still didn't look the best. I left frustrated and very dissatisfied. I decided to go back the next day and ask the tech to fix them again since I paid good money for the service and was not satisfied. She did attempt to smooth out the waves that were still in the powder, but the quality of the repair job was still not as good as I am used to. The powder is thick and uneven over many of my nails. At best, my nails were ok. I figured I could live with it for a few weeks until I have regrowth and it's time to get them redone. When I left, I knew I'd never be a repeat customer. Well, today is day 2 since I had my nails done at Regal Nails and I will be going back for a second repair. When I went to have the ripples in the powder to be removed yesterday, instead of using the activating top coat for powder dip, the tech used a gel top coat. I know other salons do this also, but I was told once by another nail tech that it is not a proper top coat for powder dip. Regardless, my nails were nice and shiny....that is until this morning when the gel coat starting peeling. I have had gel nails many times in the past and I have never had this happen before. If I can share photos with this review, I will. I'm half tempted to go to another nail salon, have this horrible powder dip taken off and start over. read more

At an unexpected location, Regal Nails is located inside a Walmart in Shawnee. The interior of Regal Nails is quite impressive and neat with their little vines hanging over parts of the beams. The price point of their services are quite reasonable! The staff is friendly as well--I event met a new friend named Ling who was thoughtful and offered great suggestions for what I wanted to do with my nail designs. I'm super happy with how my nails turned out! I got a gel manicure. I never felt like she was rushing to get the job done. This is actually the 4th time I've ever gotten my nails done, but I'll make sure I swing by here again (for a pedicure next, possibly!) since this is definitely a hidden gem! I did not make an appointment, yet they still fit me in even though it seemed kinda busy. Highly recommend this place! Plus, they use a super nice smelling coconut-pineapple oil to soften your hands after they're done. read more

I have been there a few times before and it was ok, but the time before last they were pushing the more expensive services, which I understand in running a business. I kindly declined and just wanted the top offer listed on the service sheet. I went back a week ago and the same thing happened, BUT this time I was told the offer, that was clearly listed on the service sheet, was not being offered...what??? Told her that's what I wanted several times, she said it was not offered so I had to pay more than I wanted. It was not crossed out and nothing was said to me until she had started working on me, and clearly I could not get up and leave, which I would have. They knew exactly what they were doing. Well, they may have got a few extra dollars from me, but they lost me as a customer. That is NOT how you do business!! Will never step foot in there again. read more

I was told by the lady that unless I paid more thru don't scrub dead skin off my feet. Then they beg for tips. According to what they list that is not the way it is supposed to be done. This used to be my favorite nail salon in Kansas City - I got my wedding nails done here. Today I had an awful experience. As you can see my cuticle on my big toe was cut pretty bad and it burned during the pedicure. The toenails were not cut or filed evenly and they look terrible. The manicure was even worse. Poor attention to detail when doing the cuticle. The third and fourth finger look awful - too many coats were applied (it looks like a child did it). The manicurist was distracted and not paying attention. I informed them about the inconsistency with the nails and they filed the cuticles more but the damage could not be fixed. When asking for how much tip I said $10 and they charged $20. Unfortunately now I will have to get everything redone and this was for my brothers wedding. I will not be returning. I used to recommend everyone go to this salon but will now need to find a better salon. I'm very disappointed. read more

(Shawnee, KS) After being a regular customer, I will not be back. I had the worst full set put on last Thursday 11/29. I told him the shape I wanted and he told me he would shape them after I washed my hands and then never did. There were a TON of bubbles after he put the top coat on and again, they weren't shaped even close to how I wanted them. He also repeatedly cut my skin and made me bleed TWICE after telling him he was hurting me. I went in tonight, 12/4, and asked to have them removed (knowing it costs $10) and I was questioned the whole time and told that from now on, I shouldn't get acrylics and was criticized for wanting them off. I'm paying for a service. I don't get questioned when I want my nails done, so I shouldn't be questioned when I ask for another service you guys offer. The same guy that did my nails started cutting and tearing my acrylic nails off. When I questioned him and told him I came in so they could remove them properly and not damage my nails, he acted like I was stupid. I told him I could just rip them off myself like he was doing and save myself the $10 and walked out. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE SERVICE. I have always experienced great service at this location and the prices are great. I have had a manicure and a pedicure. Very happy with both they have a lot of polish options and they are very friendly. My only complaint is there's not enough of them so I feel like you do not get one on one attention you might get interrupted a couple times during your service so they can answer the phone or answer questions. read more

Been here 4x in one month!?! I got a sloppy pedicure and my nails keep breaking even after getting a brand new set. Last time I was in the guy I was excited about charged me $10 more than before and also kept my change as an unauthorized $8! tip. I tried them but I won't be back. For top prices you can't have your nails snapping in half a week later. It's a business scheme and I'm not here for it. Plus it hurts when they break! I know places who for the same price will have you right for a month. Back to Creative Nails on 95th! But The Legends Nails So Pretty do the some good pedicures.
