My family and I visited Regal South Hill the day after Christmas, and during the chaos of buying multiple tickets and wrangling my daughter--who insisted on paying--I accidentally left my credit card behind. Why do the staff seem so off to me? We got tickets for a 5:11 movie and didn't start watching until 3:40 due to commercials... The the customer service.... A lady at the front desk was prepping food and looked at us multiple times and didn't say anything..... the other guy came up to the register and couldn't figure out the system and I had come back multiple times for a simple drinke and pretzel transaction. I understand customer service is difficult sometimes but how hard is it to say "hey, I'll be right with you? Or someone will be right with you or something, to look back at people multiple times and not say anything is kinda unprofessional and needs better customer service. This is a very outdated movie theater with bad customer service and way overpriced with how outdated and uncomfortable the seats are. Never had a movie start on time always at least 30 minutes late. They are sure to show loads of advertisements though.

My husband love going to the movies once or twice a month. Yesterday at 12:10 we watched Meg 2, good movie but the Over Priced Popcorn was stale. We got to our seat and my husband was like this tastes like it was from last night. So, I went back to the counter and I told the guy that the popcorn being so expensive tasted horrible. He said do you want another I said yes please. When I got back to the seat we started eating it and there was so much butter on it, like soaked in it that wee couldn't even eat it. I was nautous the rest of the day and it seemed like he did that on purpose because I brought back the first stale bucket. Worst movie experience in 2023. I go to a lot of movies! Where do I start? Went here to see the Barbie premier and the tickets were outrageously priced... assuming they'd have a remodeled theatre. Absolutely not! Seats were horribly spaced with no leg room as my neck was cocked back at a 90 degree angle to be able to watch the movie.. not to mention the fact that the whole interior of the facility has very dark and dingy feeling. There's no new posters, decorations, meal deals or promos for new movies. Would absolutely not recommend this theatre and I think it should either be shut down of remodeled. This is an average, cozy theatre. It's nestled into the back lots of the South Hill mall, (http://m.yelp.com/biz/south-hill-mall-puyallup) and it's really clean and fun! PROS: 1) Service is great! 2) It's connected to the South Hill Mall. 3) The theaters are actually pretty big with lots of seating :) CONS: 1) Parking sucks, unless you want to park in the completely other lot that's meant for the Mall entrance. 2) There can be a lot of creaky teens that hang around! Overall, great way to kill a few hours with the family, or a nice place to get some entertainment after shopping till' you drop at the South Hill Mall! We had my daughters 9bday party here this weekend. We watched minions, ussually this theater is quite empty, which is why I like it,specially for a party, is a small one too, is inside the mall,perfect because some parents went shopping while the movie was on. Due to the movie type (Minion Fever) it was quite busy last saturday, However we got there and we were able to choose and reserve our seats because of the bday, we had a whole row, we were allowed before anyone else in there, my package came with a drink, popcorn and fruit snacks for each kid, the staff took our orders and they brought each order to our seats (yaay) After the movie we were allowed to hang in the lobby area for about an hour to eat cake and open presents, I know how it sounds - the lobby- i was a little worried about the privacy and safety of the kids; however the stuff did a great job arranging the chairs and putting out ballons, plates and made a little closed up area with the chairs for our party. The kids had soooo much fun! I would definetally do it again. The manager was very attentive and everyone was friendly and nice to us. We had no issues whatsoever. I did had to bring my own knife for the cake, candles and the lighter (ussual stuff) and I wish I would have been smart enough to bring juice box or something for the kids to have along with the cake, since by the end of the movie their snacks were done. :) read more

The popcorn was great and the bathrooms were clean. It was expensive just like all movie theaters and there wasn't much of a gaming area for kids. But, the thing that really holds me back from returning is that the theater seats are level with each other unlike most theaters. We were struggling to see over all of the people sitting in front of us. read more

Older and a bit dingy. I didn't really get the theatre experience as far as surround sound and the quality of the picture. The seats are small and outdated. It also had a little stench. Tiny theater behind the mall (connected) and it was dirty there was popcorn all over the place near the concessions. It wasn't even that busy for a movie theater so they could of had someone clean up. I really don't like small theaters. It smelled where we sat. Like someone peed nearby or something. And there was this line on the screen that went right down the middle of it and it was a bit annoying since I could see it through the movie. They really need some updating. We were asking the ticket guy if it was worth it to do a 3-d movie and he just ignored us so we asked again and he just looked at us. Also they kept asking if I had a regal reward and I don't but whenever you go to places that have a reward deal they usually explain what it is and ask if you want one. So we're not done with the movie yet, but here are some things to note: Bad: -Two medium drinks and a popcorn is $21. Kids, start taking your dates to Italian restaurants instead... -There was no sound in the theater for a while. Truly a vintage experience. -The hallway lighting is darker than the theater lighting, presumably to give it that overpriced nightclub experience. Or to hide the stains that are probably causing this urine-esque odor that is assaulting my nose. Good: -The snack bar didn't have any popcorn, and offered to bring it to me. Michael, the cashier & concessions server was excellent!! He was very courteous & this guy knows his popcorn. We asked for butter and since no one else was there he added butter mid-fill and then topped it off with more butter!! Top marks for this Regal!! read more

When my sister, sister-in-law, and I went, it was just okay initially. However, when we went to the concessions stand to refill our drinks and popcorn, we waited around 20 minutes for someone to even acknowledge our presence and that was after my sister knocked loudly on one of the employee only doors. 20 minutes isn't a long time unless you're disabled like I am, where I can only stand for 5 minutes before pain shoots down my legs. You'd think there were some kind of camera, and someone monitoring it for customers who may need help. There was a male employee that opened the door behind the stand, then turned around and walked away. I would have gladly paid for the refills. It was the utter lack of customer service that will make me not want to come back to this particular theater. read more

I took my girls to see a movie last night (Home) and noticed they weren't selling tickets in their ticket booth thing you had to walk in to the actual theater part to buy the tickets which is fine, so I stand in a long line (Took awhile) and got up to the counter and said to the girl "You buy tickets here correct?" She looks at me like I'm the dumbest person she's ever in countered and said uh yeah. Very rude! To the point the lady behind me in line even agreed. Then you have to go get in another line for your food & drinks and no joke they had two workers (3 total with the ticket counter) and the line took forever! Everyone in line was talking about how slow they were and how they didn't have enough people working. The entire staff working was just not friendly at all, no smiles nothing.. They looked miserable. Maybe it's a bad place to work but they need to put the smile on if that's their choice of employment. I won't be returning. read more

Staff is very nice. The theater is very clean, and has what you need to enjoy your time there. My only complaint is that if you decide to use Fandango, you still have to stand in the box office line. I thought the point of using it was to avoid the box office lines, which can be very difficult when you have special needs.. read more

I feel that whenever we go to this theater it is never crowded and the staff is very friendly. My only concern is that I feel the seats are very close together. It's not the best Regal around, but as many have mentioned, it's pretty quiet and low key. On weekdays the place seems almost empty. And (likely due to low attendance?) the theaters are always clean. It's kind of nice to have a laid back, relaxed movie going experience from time to time. Only draw back I can really think of is their selection of films. Usually, it's always family-oriented or animated films, and some lingering a month or longer after their initial release. It is a mall, I understand, and I'm sure they do good business on weekends with the family crowd so I *get* why...it is what it is. But otherwise, I like this theater, I truly do. read more

A decent theater to see the latest release. Seats in the back row of the theater are a joke... worse than back seats in a Mazda Miata. I have not noticed lately, but the rest rooms there were horrifically smelly, with the stench wafting into the hall ways as you walked to/from your theater. When I commented to the manager and another employee that it consistantly smells like stale urine in the theater, they looked at me like I had two heads. Didn't seem to care, nor did they seem to know what I was talking about - gave me the "what-ever" look that your teenager gives you. The last two times I was there it seemed not as bad. I wanted to see a movie at the South Hill mall movie theater with my family and upon entry was asked by a very young (late teens, early 20 something man to look through my purse. I spent the next awkward moment while this young man got to look at all my most personal items. I asked to see the manager who was very unsympathetic and was told that it was policy to check purses because I might bring a gun into the movie theater and that I should read the sign on the door. I am a 50 year old mother of four children! I did read the door on my way out and there was nothing there that said purses would be checked. I came to the theater to have a family moment and left feeling so humiliated. As I was leaving I observed several young women walk into the theater and they weren't asked to show the contents of their purses. I won't ever go back there again. read more

When I took it to the counter to ask for fresh popcorn I was to,d they weren't making any more for the night and that I was basically out of luck. For $7 I should get fresh popcorn.
