This movie theatre was decent. Prices reasonable for the tickets. Obviously the food, snacks, and drinks are going to be pricey at the movies. Only downside to this location, is the seats. They do not recline, which is very uncomfortable to be in for more than an hour. read more

Except for the squeaky seats, the theater was fine. The issue is affordability! My wife and I have lived in an area of the country where 2 admissions, a medium popcorn and a medium drink cost us around $22.00. We were a bit shocked when the admission to Regal was $22.02. I then asked about a combo that included a large popcorn, a large drink and a small candy and was told it was about $28.00. After recovering and waiving off the paramedics, we settled on a kids tray for $8.50. A medium popcorn and a medium drink were about $20.00. My question is "How does anyone afford this? Regal is in financial difficulty, and I predict the end of this entertainment venue is in sight. Crowds are sparse and their prices are the reason. It's simply a shame if you ask me. read more

Afternoon Matinees are food time to go. Concessions are way too expensive at movies anymore. We can buy 2 Tuesday Senior special tickets for $10.80 total but a popcorn and 2 drinks are $24. My only negative comment for this theatre. read more

As a deaf cinema-goer, I get nothing but excellent service from the staff here! Whenever I ask for the captioned glasses, they're always so quick and courteous about it! In the rare occassions that something goes wrong, they're very quick to fix the issue! Also, tonight, I accidentally left my lights on my car and didn't realize it. When I came outside, my car battery was dead. On the driver's window was a blue sticky note telling me not to panic because management has jumper cables! I went back and mentioned my car and the note, and the window ticketer called the manager via walkie talkie and told me he'd meet me at my car. As soon as I made my way up to my car, the manager rolled up and set up the jumper cables, and I was very shortly on my merry way! Before I left, I thanked the manager and he replied in sign language, which was a surprise to me! All in all, I get a GREAT experience with the staff whenever I visit! The theaters are also top-notch (although, a few could stand to use some new chairs)! Regal will always have me as a loyal customer if they continue with this excellent service! read more

Been here twice, a fairly nice theater. The seats are awesome. The only complaint I have is that you can hear the movie in the theater next door through the wall if there's a lull in your movie and next door is in a heavy action scene. Prices are pretty reasonable. read more

Perfect theater for a PRIVATE movie or a DATE.. My husband, daughter and I had a flight out of GSP to Chicago (our hometown) on SW since SW wasn't flying out of Charlotte as of yet. We drove a couple hours early in order to go to the movies before our flight and while on 85-S I used Yelp several times to search for a nearby theater as we got closer to the airport. This theater appeared so we exited and brought tickets to see GI Joe Retaliation. It was QUICK to purchase, plenty of seating (on the day the movie was released) and everyone there seemed to be 50 and older which was very nice because people of that age tend to be settled and relaxed so they don't have too many cares or worries. The seats were comfy, the movie played clearly and there wasn't a weird theater smell. Very satisfied with this theater and if we EVER so happen need to fly out of GSP again I will be back to this theater on the way to the airport. Update: I like this theater but staff could be better. It's like different employees run the cinema every time. Regal Spartan 16 is my go-to theater in town for the latest box office hit movies. I am a Regal Crown Club member and coming from that, I highly recommend the membership. It's free and you get a lot of discounts. Basically if you're a huge movie goer this is a no-brainer. Pros: - Seats in each theater I've been in have been comfortable, audio is superb too. - That Crown Club Membership tho... and discounted movie tickets & popcorn every Tuesday - A House of the Dead 2 arcade machine in the lobby with a calibrated gun. Or else, I'll suffer like G did. (game reference) - Manager gave a buddy of mine and I a free ticket for Star Wars: The Force Awakens after the other show was sold out. Cons: - Employees are mostly teenagers or in early '20s. Not a huge problem but I don't go to the movies that often. - Lines can be somewhat of a pain too. For 14 years, Spartan 16 has served me right as a great Regal Cinema. I'll always continue to commute there to see the latest box office flicks. read more

This theatre is TERRIBLE. Concessions are extremely short staffed, had to wait almost 30 minutes. The whole thing needs an update- old seats, old food selection, old drink selection, under stocked, under swept, under cleaned, under staffed. read more

Save yourself some trouble and go to NCG or Greenville. Regal Spartan does not answer their phone. The manager and assistant manager both said its an office phone and there was no way to leave a voice mail. Upon driving across town to buy tickets for 3 days from now, it was Daycare day, they play summer movies for children and the lines were very long for a customer service concern because their website was not working and they do not answer their phone & kiosk to purchase tickets are "quirkey". There was no way to purchase a ticket at customer service desk and the only way to make a complaint was through email. Customer service is non-existent at this theater. read more

I have yet to come to this theater without waiting for a long time to order. When I do finally get to order there's either no pizza, no hotdogs or pretzels. So if you're looking to eat anything else other than popcorn or nachos I suggest eating before hand. read more

This was by far the dirtiest movie theater I have ever been to. They don't have ushers cleaning the floors and the trash cans were all full and over flowing onto the ground. The bathrooms didn't have soap and some stalls were out of toilet paper. Management needs to get on the ball, the last guest should have the same experience as the first guest of the day and not have step over trash. read more

This theater gets worse by the day. Regal's employees are more rude, and less helpful than in the past. Their competitor, NCG gives you FREE refills on ANY size drink AND popcorn... Regal is expensive. NCG gives FREE flavors to sprinkle on your popcorn... at Regal, you purchase it! And NCG has recliners. Regal theaters are larger, and so are their screens but many of their seats are broken. Regal used to be the place to go...not so much any longer. read more

Movie theater itself isn't too bad. Service is awful. It started when I asked for tickets for a specific time which I knew there were no 3D options, just standard. I didn't feel like I'd need to explain I wanted standard tickets. When I got my tickets it was for the a showing in an hour later than I asked for 3D. I noticed this immediately since the total was much higher than I was expecting, especially since I was asking for a military discount. next I had to go to customer services so that they can give me a refund for my ticket since the cost of 3D tickets are much higher than standard. However when I got my refund it was only $3 of a difference when both of my tickets were at military price versus the normal regular price. So the refund was from a standard price of a 3D to a standard price of a regular ticket with no military discount so it was cutting off some money since I had to military ID tickets. At this point the movie was going to start soon and my patience was gone since this had been 2 errors already within 5 minutes of being there. read more

I just purchased my Regal Unlilmited pass this week and went to see a movie. Purchased Lg Coke and Lg Popcorn....movie had already started so didn't want to miss anymore. The popcorn was terrible...stale as in no longer fresh and tasted horrible. Didn't eat it. After movie I spoke with "Russel", the manager! Didn't appologize, didn't offer me a refund nor another bucket!!! What class....real manager material when dealing with patrons of that theater. read more

This is the best theater in Spartanburg. In my experience it's been pretty clean and the employees have been friendly. There are big, comfy semi-reclining seats, lots of parking and a selection of up to 16 movies. Like sitting in first class on an airplane. All other theaters in S-burg are equivalent to coach, or worse: a busted, old Greyhound bus. read more

Very nice theater and always shows the good stuff, but they're probably the most expensive in the area. No matter when I come the counter service is incredibly slow paced. There's usually a long line outside for tickets on weekends, but if you walk inside there are touch screen kiosks you can buy your ticket from that most people don't seem to know about, so skip the line and do it that way! read more

Movie theater is outrageously priced. 4 people to come in $45.00. 4 small icees and 3 small popcorns $53.00. Went into the theater and it was filthy trash everywhere. Seats are comfortable but screen was fuzzy. Sound quality was ok but not great. I'd pass on this place. read more

Plays a lot of great movies but the theater itself was quite disgusting. As soon as I walked in I noticed all of the trash laying around, not just the trashcan, but literally everywhere. It smelled like a large bathroom throughout the whole place as well. When we entered our movie, it smelt like the air had just been turned off for days and things were mildewing. It was a damp kind of hot and they really need to fix their AC. The movie was great and after another customer complained I believe they turned the air on. If you can, go to NCG across town. This is a great movie theater. They are back behind Westgate Mall in Spartanburg, near Chuckie Cheese and RackRoom Shoes. Hub City Church meets here every Sunday morning. When the line gets long out front, they will sometimes call folks paying with credit card into the building and pay, to help reduce the wait time. The building is decorated in a 1940s movie theme, the theaters themselves are clean. We've been here several times with no issues. read more

last few times we've been they've stopped selling tickets out front and now sell them at the concession stand. we always plan ahead by pre-purchasing our tickets online and it was great skipping the lines to go directly to the concession stand to drop $40 on snacks but now, we are forced to wait in line behind ppl who need tickets AND concessions... add the selecting of "seat reservations", 30-mins of previews and the 3-hr minimum experience just doesn't feel worth it! read more

I have never had to leave a theatre because I felt unsafe, until today. There was an altercation going on while the movie was going on in the theatre, which resulted in the theatre emptying. No this is not the theatre's fault, but it was an experience I won't forget. Nor will I be going back there. I know that's not their fault and they did give free passes for another time to come back and see the movie, but I spent money on large popcorn and 2 large drinks which I will have to spend more money on if I go see another movie at another regal. Just feel like they need some security there or something because 2 grown men going at it is hard for a woman manager and teenage employees to control. This place was impressive driving up to it. Very large and the inside is a nice and well kept cinema. We saw a movie in the theater #7 and at times there were quite moments of the film and we could hear almost word for word the movie showing beside us. Aren't theaters built so this doesn't happen? I can understand if it was a loud explosion being played on the movie screen next to us, but a full conversation? It was extremely distracting and took you out of the movie we were trying to enjoy. As a previous employee at Spartan 16, I can say that the quality has definitely gone down within the past 7 months that I've worked there. However, the fault isn't completely on the floor staff, and more on the extremely poor management that runs the building. In 7 months we had been through 6 General Manager changes, causing a lot of confusion on how things were supposed to work. This lead to many of the experienced floor staff leaving to find better jobs, and a large influx of inexperienced floor staff that are no longer able to be trained properly due to the lack of care from other manages, and the very small percentage of experienced workers at the theater. Everything about the place went down hill after multiple managers left all at the same time, and we were left with one to run the building and few others from different Regal theaters coming to help. Overall, management has been a crap show which has then trickled down onto the poor floor staff who were unable to be properly trained to do their job right. Not to mention we seem to have always had something broken or not working in Concessions that, when told to management, was pushed away and little to no effort was put into fixing it. Overall, I'd say if there was any hope for Spartan 16, they'd be better off shutting down for a month to fix everything wrong. In the past, I would have been quick to recommend Regal to watch movies, but with the state of the theater now, I would recommend driving the extra distance to go to either the Greenville Regal, or NCG. I used to love working for this company, it used to be a genuinely fun place to work. Now, before leaving, I was left surrounded by rude coworkers, and rude managers. And, while I wish that the theater had stayed the same as it was in the past, I feel I am better off away from there, as you are too. read more
