I love this place. Sure the snacks are pricey but they are worse at regal ( where it's cramped and I've had the staff just forget to show, seriously the manager did not know how to turn the film on). You can reserve exactly where you want to sit and it's yours. You get to watch a movie in a recliner and even all sprawled out, people can still get around you to their seats. How awesome is that?! They have discount days and themes during holidays so there is a bit of something for anyone. read more

We came here twice , and yet again we are disappointed with these seats. These seats are terrible and very uncomfortable. Please make these chairs lean back more. Our backs were hurting by the end of the movie. We do love the self service slushy and popcorn option. But cmon guys let's fix these seats...please. There is potential here. read more

Saw several movies here. The seats are cozy and recline, and the theater is clean and in good shape. There are great concession options and free refills on popcorn. They also have coke freestyles! There were also not many previews before the movie, unlike other theaters, which have 30 minutes of ads. I also appreciate that show preveiws appropriate for the audience of the featured film. If you have taken a kid to a g or pg film at another theater and preveiws for pg13 or R movies played, you won't have that issue here. Will always be my theater. read more

NGC cinemas more like not good customer (service). Was 3 minutes late to a movie because my car broke down. My adopted child really wanted to see this movie and was going to be the first time we had gotten time to spend together since his adoption. I'm extremely disappointed in the lack of effort to accommodate someone who was late by 3 minutes. The workers had no regard for hard work and just being nice to people. They wanted me and my son (adopted) to have a truly bad evening my son (adopted) was crying over these workers truly dark hearts and ill intents to my family (foster family). I hope in the future the employees can have compassion for a broken family just trying to become whole again. Please please please for the love of god improve. Hopefully my son (adopted) will love me eventually. read more

I am hard-of-hearing, and the theater has closed caption devices that can be checked out (for free). I used it today for the first time, and it was a great blessing. The device has a sturdy plastic base that fits into the cup holder. Within the base is its own cup holder so that you still have a place to store your drink. The base is an attached to a flexible arm that allows you to adjust the height of the close captioned screen so that it is comfortable for your own use. Finally, the arm is attached to a small screen which displays the captions. This is easy to visualize. If you have problems understanding movie dialogue and you use closed captioning at home, give this a try. It will significantly improve your ability to enjoy movies. Pretty decent place to watch a movie. The concessions were not the prices that it currently says under the photos shown. The drink was over $7 and the popcorn the same and more for a large. 2 of the seats that showed being sold were actually covered with garbage bags. Actually only 2 other people were in there so I'm pretty sure other seats that were showing as sold were actually broken. The screen was big but the film didn't fill it up. The chairs we were in were comfortable and the sound was good. I went back and forth between 3 and 4 stars but went with 4 because I'm in a good mood. read more

Great theatre in Spartanburg! We will choose this one everytime over the regal. Popcorn is made FRESH! Which is a big plus! Seats recline. Great, friendly staff. While it's a smaller theater than regal it is 200 times nicer! I love how they have 3 seats on each side and a long row of seats in the middle. Cool setup! read more

Was not a clean environment, when we got to our seats someone had spilled their popcorn all over the floor and it didn't get cleaned up before we got there, it got my cool beans socks dirty, we found it hard to pay attention because these stupid kids were laughing the whole time and this one kid was on her phone! gurl needs to hang up and hang out. They were throwing popcorn too, and one of the girls had braces, what a cruel joke, knowing she can't eat popcorn and throwing it at her anyway. They clapped when the movie was over too. Excellent. Not a name brand theater but we had a great experience. Nice location with an Applebee's across the street. Checking in was prompt with ticket sales and popcorn & drinks at the same counter. All were reasonably priced. Staff was friendly and helpful. Seats were wide, comfortable, and adjustable. The only issue I had was the theater got hot. I don't know if it was because it was full or the AC was not working.

The popcorn wasn't warm at all, the movie we watched was Transformers. We left half way through due to the speakers popping and crackling, due to one of them being blown. We couldn't focus on the movie because of that, and the popping and cracking hurt our ears. read more

Well we visited this place again and it I was pleasantly surprised. It appears they have upgraded the seats in the theater. This experience was much nicer than my previous trip. Crazy that I live closer to this good ol' Carmike spot but go to Spartan 16 more (it's just more spacious and less crowdy). Today was my first time going back here after being NCG. It's an improvement for sure, and the prices for tickets/concessions on Tuesdays are great with no Rewards program required. The first film I saw here was Christopher Robin (in theater 6 I believe) and the recliners were surprisingly comfortable. Other reviewers have mentioned the chairs are run down and hardly recline anymore. I happen to agree since I had to move chairs... and with little brats running around periodically, it made the movie experience not as enjoyable. But it's still a good local theater that saves us gas. As far as the snacks, NCG makes great popcorn. Even without butter it tastes really good. And not as overly salty as Regal's popcorn with butter (which I still enjoy). While I'd rather bus over to Spartan 16, NCG is a good place to see the newest box-office hits over on the eastside. Just go when it's not as busy. :) read more

When NCG opened several years ago it was a great movie experience. The $5 Tuesday and reduced concessions was best movie deal in town. The theaters are small and quickly sell out during first week of release. You have to go early to secure seats together for multiple people in your group. If you arrive after previews begin it's difficult to see to locate a seat with the seats reclined. We had 4 people come in 15 mins after the movie started (which was rude on their part) and disrupted the movie looking for seats. They ended up sitting on the aisle steps until an employee finally came in to move them. No one offered to help them or move over to allow them to sit together or offer single seats. The employee was loudly telling them to find a seat or leave. The employee should have had a flashlight and safely assisted them to a seat since they sold them tickets after the movie started. So go early ! The seats are becoming worn and most will no longer recline. The theatre appears dirty and worn. The popcorn is usually cold but they offer many salt & butter flavors you can add. The concessions are more reasonably priced than other theaters in town. (Popcorn & soft drinks have unlimited refills). I loved this theatre when it was new. Now I only go on Tuesday Matinee for the deal and less crowds. read more

I oh so badly want to rate them 5/5 stars. Free refills on popcorn and soda!! Popcorn shaker toppings!! Delicious!! Really good popcorn always popped fresh. Nachos....that can't even compare to gas station nachos. What happened to back in the day of HOT FRESH cheese poured all over a bed of nachos that are stored in a warming cabinet? I've still yet to try the pretzel dog and pretzels. The audio quality is decent but not amazing so don't expect Dolby Atmos or an RPX experience. The seats are the reason to be here. It's the most comfortable theater that there is around the area. Make sure to Fandango your tickets each time you go here because I've been sold out on multiple times. While it's my favorite theater, I'm giving it 4/5 stars due to the fact that a 3D movie never plays here, and I'm not sure if they even have polarized screens (required for 3D), their lack of modern audio enhancements (sound too low for my taste, no Atmos or other special features, I could build a system that would give better audio in my home) and nachos that are a disgrace to gas station nachos, which are awesome compared to this. However, their absolutely delicious popcorn with self serve hot butter topping and popcorn shaker flavors with coke machine to produce hundreds of variations sure to please any palate and the most comfortable seats ever still gets those four stars easily and is my go to favorite theater in the area. My daughter purchased four tickets online, two adult and two kids. We arrived in time to purchase snacks and drinks before our movie, which we did. Imagine our surprise when we proceeded to our assigned theater only to find that the seats we had purchased were non-existent. We went to the front and asked to speak to the manager. She offered us four seats that were not together but since we had two children with us, that was not acceptable so my daughter asked for a refund. The manager then proceeded to tell my daughter that she would have to pay the sales tax on these tickets for seats that didn't even exist! My daughter never raised her voice but demanded a full refund since this was obviously fraud. Two other employees proceeded to walk over to intimidate us, like we were criminals for demanded a refund on a fraudulent ticket sale. I will never patron this establishment again. It was absolutely ridiculous! This theater should not be allowed to sell fraudulent tickets. I think this is called theft by deception or in other words, the old bait and switch for a movie that was sold out so that they could fill every seat. It's illegal and someone should be charged or at the very least, fined. read more

This is a great renovation of an old Carmike Cinema that doesn't have stadium seating. We heard that the showings sometimes sell out so we opted to buy our tickets online. They have a Fandango kiosk near the concessions so you can print your ticket. The place was busy! The good... There are oversized reclining leather seats that are very comfortable. The rows are spaced out so far that your view is not obstructed by the rows in front of you. You get plenty of arm rest area. The place is clean!! The drinks and popcorn are still expensive but the free refills helps. Admission prices are ~$2 cheaper than the stadium seat places in the area. The bad.... These are minor things but the leather seats are very noisy... anytime someone moved in the theatre you could hear the leather on their seat. They also don't recline quite enough and the leg rest on my seat was still pointing at the floor. A great concept... I will definitely return! read more

I was very unhappy with my experience today. One of the seats we selected ended up being totally broken. The foot rest was partially up, seat reclined all the way back and non-usable. I went out to the manager to get the situation corrected. I understand if the theater was full and there were hardly any extra seats in our area so I took one by myself and left my other party where they were. That was really not my issue. My issue was that the manager didn't say a word, just flipped the computer screen around and expected me to understand that I was to pick another seat out. When I did he again did not say a word and handed me a ticket with that seat assignment expecting me to be ever so grateful I'm sure. That irritated me that he didn't even say sorry ma'am. I then said it probably would be a good idea not to sell a ticket for a broken seat, and he began to argue that this happens all the time they break every day, blah blah blah. I have been to NCG before and had okay experiences. Got my tickets and snacks and watched the movie. I had a new experience today. We arrived a few minutes after 11:45 (our movie time) and the movie hadn't started and the lights were off. Plus the theater hadn't been cleaned at all. One of my friends went to tell the workers that it hadn't started. We then had to sit through all their local ads, movie trailers, and once the movie started there was no visual. We sat through the beginning for 15 minutes with no visual and the lights on. Once the screen was back, we asked for it to be restarted and they did not. They did give us a free ticket to any movie but that was the only positive experience. read more
