I know it must be becoming tougher for theaters to compete with everyone's comfy living room or bedroom because most movies are just a click away on various devices. Why spend the money when you can wait a few weeks and download it? This new Regal Cinema located in the newly renovated Springfield Town Center will definitely change your mind. First, we were able to pick our exact seat when purchasing our tickets. Online, they give you an assigned seating map like buying a concert ticket. Then there was the full bar and lounging area inside. The coffee wasn't too great but sipping on a glass of wine while watching a movie is pretty cool. The best part were the seats. Wowzers! The extra-large, electric, recliner seats were fantastic. Oh my were they comfortable! In fact, they were so comfortable that when the lights went out, I immediately began to fight sleep. I honestly think we both fell asleep for a good 15min cat nap (the movie was slow in the beginning lol). I like that you can pull up the arm rest and get close to your date and there is enough leg room that you never have to worry about getting up if someone needs to get by. This new kind of arrangement makes for a smaller, intimate theatre. I will definitely be back. Cons: The loads of rowdy teens in the lounge/waiting area. I'm hoping the smaller theatre and pricier ticket will deter them in the future. However, it was a Friday night. read more

Husband bought four tickets to a movie a few weeks before it came out and we have been eagerly awaiting going to see it. Fast forward to yesterday, we show up and are told that the movie is playing in auditorium 2. OK, our tickets say 1, but whatever. Head to auditorium 2 and realize that we have 4 seats in the handicap accessible row, and as such, two of those seats aren't actually seats, they are spots for wheelchairs. Hmm. Husband goes to investigate at customer service and is told to leave the theater and go to the box office. As the movie is starting and we are sitting in the two seats that we actually had tickets to, another guest shows up with the same tickets. So there's me and my gf, both able bodied individuals, sitting in a specifically designated disabled person's seats. I am obviously MORTIFIED and feel like a huge jerk. We walk up to customer service just as the person behind the counter (the second person my husband has interacted with at this point) is telling him that she can only issue a refund as there are no other screenings to said movie with any available seats other than the front row. This woman was not apologetic and actually acted like we were somehow an inconvenience to her! So apparently, they sold us tickets to a movie that did not actually exist and somehow we were the problem. What a waste of time and money. All of our snacks (about $40 for popcorn and soda/water for 4 people) went in the trash as we left. I will NEVER set foot in this theater again. I was so embarrassed and instead of an apology we were met with total and complete indifference and attitude. PS. Assigned seating. This is the first movie theater I've been to where you pick your seats. Pros - you know you have a seat when you arrive. Good for small groups. Don't worry about needing to rush. Cons - I have a family of 6. You think I'm ever gonna get to sit together? Prob not. I'd have to arrive hours before, maybe days to get seats together. Or I could buy them through Fandango, but her hit with a $6 service fee. Somebody decided to skip a seat so my family or separated. I'd rather no have the assign seating. This is the 2nd time I've gone to this cinema expecting to enjoy the convince & benefits of a full bar at the movies :-). My 1st visit was for an evening movie and this was a 12pm early movie, and both times the bar was extremely slow and there weren't even a lot of people . There was only one bar tender both times & one bar tender for a full bar at venue with "time sensitive" events like the movies is ridiculous! On top of that they serve mix drinks that require extra time to prepare; so again the need for multiple bartenders. This place is a money grab and disrespectful of my time and money. The location for Regal Cinemas is located ontop of Dick's Sporting Goods. Regular admissions for adults is $14. I used my regal cinemas "free tickets" that i won, but i had to pay 1.50 fee because of the new reclining chairs. As you enter, the restrooms are to the right, the concessions stands are in the middle, and the bar is to the left. If you have a purse or backpack. Beware they do check bags. The concession stand line moved very quickly. It was very packed but they had every cashier working. The chairs are amazing. There is a button on the side of the chair that allows you to relax and enjoy the movie. read more

The mall first re-opened on October 17, 2014 and me and my neighbor decided to go watch the Gone Girl movie. We got the tickets and they gave us free popcorn and drinks for the 1st day opening! The theater is so nice and clean! They have a bar area where you can get an adult beverage. I love their comfortable black leather reclining seats! Talk about comfort!!! They have the attached tray that you can swing in and out. It is nice that the staff is very friendly as well. I got so spoiled being at this theater that I do not want to go anywhere else unless it is the same level or better lol. Few tips: This is located inside the Springfield Mall and the closet parking will in the garage across from Macy's and next to Dick's Sporting Goods on level 3. You walk across the bridge and as soon as you enter they are located right there. If you use free movie tickets, just be aware they might be a $1 or $2 extra charge for the movie you are seeing. I think it is because of the plushness of the theater. Best part: They have reserved seating! I wish all the theaters will start implementing this since it makes me feel better knowing that I do not have to rush to find a seat when I already have one reserved. read more

The Springfield Town Center Regal Cinema is my favorite place in town to take a nap. There's something about the extra wide, fully reclined leather seats, perfectly cooled, darkly lit room and roaring noise of the cinema that just zonks me out. I'm proud to say I've slept through all of the major hits of 2017 here! This is the perfect place for me to zone out, catch some zzzzs's and forget that I have a little one at home to take care of. The best part about this theatre is it is never too crowded and the staff is (usually) so nice and accommodating. You can buy and reserve tickets online and they even accept Movie Pass too! Saw TMNT: Mutant Mayhem with my family today. 2 adults, 2 kids under 10. Our tickets were for 7pm. We weren't let into theatre room 1 until 7pm because they were cleaning it (apparently there had been a TMNT private party before our showing, which we had purchased tix for a week prior.) After dozens of us had sat outside theatre 1 for 20+ minutes, they FINALLY let us in (with minor apologies) then proceeded to start the commercials from the beginning, so the 7pm show didn't actually start until nearly 8pm. We weren't.given free movie passes or even free popcorn/soda for our wait, just a "hey, sorry for the wait...thanks for your patience!" As if we had any other choice but to wait, after paying for tickets and concessions. It was really terrible customer service. Then i sat next to a father and toddler, the toddler had a phone which played cartoons from Youtube on full volume. When i had glanced over, the father got agressively arguementative. You'd think staff might've gotten involved, but no staff had shown up to check on our theatre throughout the previews and film. Maybe they felt guilty for dropping the ball initially? Who knows. Either way, even though the movie was great - the experience my family and I had at the movie theater today was the worst we've maybe ever had. Also, I was 2nd in line at the bar to get a glass.of wine and it took 20 minutes before i got served because the bartender didn't know how to make the signature Barbie drinks for the lady ahead of me..then my 1 glass.of cheap wine was nearly $10?! I love coming to the movies again after discovering this theater. Hands down, my favorite of all time because it stands alone. Every theater has real reclining seats that go so low, you're almost laying down. The screens are a bit smaller, but so are the amount of seats in each theater. You get this intimate feeling of privacy and relaxation. Each seat has its own tray that's large enough to have a meal on. You'll have a great time with your significant other. The concessions are right before you enter the theaters, but I'll warn you they're extremely expensive. Although it's cool that they have a full bar! Whether you order your tickets online or in person, you'll get to choose your seating beforehand which is extremely convenient. No more rushing to a movie with the fear of not getting a good seat. Costco sells 4 regal tickets for $40 with email delivery. They will work here. Much better than paying $13-$16 . read more

This is one of my go to theaters. Located above the Dick's Sporting Goods in the Mall er "Town Center." They have automated ticket machines and the box office. Love the reclining seats, so comfy. My only issue is the price of the movies. $12 for a matinee is a little high. Good concessions and friendly staff. read more

It was my first time coming to this theater ever since the mall reopened. I hate the mall itself, but I'm such a big fan of this theater. Parking was very easy in the garage, and you just had to walk up the escalators from Dick's sporting goods. We went to a matinee showing, but the kiosk was broken, and only one was working. I got the tickets and found the concession stand lines to be pretty long, but fast and efficient. They do have luxury leather reclining chairs there. It was plush and comfortable. They even had sliding table tops to put snacks and drinks on. Pricing was $11.50 for matinee. Medium popcorn was $8, which is the average rate nowadays. I find this to be a much nicer option and quicker to access than fighting with the parking at the AMC in Tysons corner for sure! The bathrooms were clean and well maintained too. I found the place to be very kid-friendly. Looked like they serve alcohol too, which is always a plus nowadays for a theater. Surprisingly such a great local place! read more

I've been to this movie theater several times pre-pandemic. Today was my first time going to the movies in almost 2 years. I've no complaints about my experience. Seats were still comfortable and the sound was great. We had no issue buying our tickets online and customer service was fine when we got there. Have gone here several times for movies: went again last night for "Star Wars: Rise of Skywalker" release (not on a weekend!) repeat issues at this location. Slow, slow, slow and disorganized concessions service and prices are up! $7.00 for a large soda and $8.89 for large popcorn are excessive for movie theater pricing. 15-20 minutes for service, also, pretty slow and the staff - - and - - they get simple things wrong. Dirty lobby and walkway carpets to theater, and sticky-food residue on seats and armrests, when theater has supposedly been cleaned. Needs some more diligent management attention if location wants to keep business coming here. Other cheaper options around the area. read more

No complaints at all - except..... I know the staff has to do walk through a to watch out for movie pirates but it's distracting. The surround sound was crazy- loud enough but not so loud that you get a head ache. I felt like my seat was vibrating during the planet of the apes movie. The staff was polite at all levels. Who wouldn't love being able to comfortable eat drink have a cocktail while reclining in comfortable seats as if you were at home. Just don't get to relaxed or you may fall asleep. I have my favorite theaters when it comes to watching certain types of movies (it also helps that my husband is an expert in film/audio :P I met up with a friend at Regal for a late-night movie rendezvous, and I was excited to check it out as I knew that the Springfield Mall recently had a total facelift. The theater is kind of hard to find (not much signage), but it's located next to Dick's in the back. One thing that I appreciate is that you get to choose your seats when you purchase your tickets, which is a great bonus - the employee mentioned that if you sign up for their Crown Rewards card, you get priority seating as well. (On a side note, they do not have any student discounts, but military). The box office was a little backed up, though, even with 4 staff members on site. When you step in, there's the bathroom to your immediate right for convenience and the concession stand straight ahead. The auditorium we were in was small and intimate, but generous with the spacing for the layout. I was pleasantly surprised with the very soft reclining seats - there's a little tray to keep your cup in as well as to place any snacks that you may bring. The seats themselves were comfortable, and I loved reclining back - I just hope they maintain these seats by keeping them clean! The sound was just okay, but I believe there should be better sound insulation - if you're not watching an action-packed movie with crazy audio and you're situated next to an auditorium that is playing one, your movie-viewing experience will be interrupted constantly as you can hear it through the walls. There's also a little lounge area to your immediate left by the Guest Services, which you can sit down and chit-chat a while before you go on your way. When I first read about the theater & all the new stuff it was going have, it made me excited. The theater lived up to that. The reserve seating is not new to me as Tysons & Angelika theaters have reserve seating, it is an awesome feature. They have a full bar. They had at least 7 different beers on tap plus a significant amount of other beers in bottles. They had champagne and wine as well. They could also make mixed drinks. They used a touch screen to input whatever drink you want and a machine makes the drink for them. There is a 3 drink limit. Another thing, anyone can hangout at the bar, you don't have to see a movie to be in their lobby. They have hot food, which is nice since there are (as of this review) not a lot of places open in the food court. I had the Angus burger with waffle fries. The burger was tasty. The bun was surprisingly good. The waffle fries were crispy and tasty. The only negative is the amount of waffle fries I received but that is expected of a movie theater food. The pricing is normal for movie theater food. All the hype about the theater itself were true. The king size lazy boy chairs were so comfortable. For me at least, there is no other theater in the area that has seats/chairs like these. There is a button to adjust whether or not you want put up your leg rest and or change the angle of your seat. I felt like there more than enough room for the average adult male to feel like they are in their own space. You don't feel crowded, which is a plus for me. There is enough room in front of seats for people to walk by while the leg rests are extended. There is also a food tray for each seat/chair big enough for anything you buy (or bring in) along with at least 1 drink holder. Some chairs had 2 drink holders. The picture and seat quality were unlike anything I have seen at any other regular theater (excluding imax). I saw interstellar and it looked beautiful. The ticket price is 13 bucks. I don't think that isn't bad for how comfortable the chairs/seats are and how much other stuff you have here that other normal theaters don't have. There are some self serve kiosks in the lobby in case anyone is interested. Two more things. 1: If you plan to just see a movie and not explore the town center/mall, park in the 3 level of the Macy's parking garage (the 5 level parking garage across the street from Modell's & Z pizza) 2: If you plan on seeing a movie which ends after the mall closes after the town center/mall closes, park in the parking garage or in park lot in front of dicks. If you dont, you have to walk all the way around to wherever you parked. This is my new go to theater since it is the closest to my home and easiest to get to. read more

I typically dislike going to watch movies in the theater because I would prefer watching a movie in the comfort of my own home, but Regal Cinemas in Springfield Town Center feels like a home away from home. I've had the experience of the recliner seats in movie theaters in Thailand as well as AMC Courthouse so I'm happy that this theater is so close to us! In addition to reclining seats (you can reserve where you would like to sit too!), there's also a more intimate feeling due to the smaller space and a table attached to your seat for your food and drinks! As with every movie theater, the prices are about the same as other theaters for movie tickets and snacks from the concession stand. There's even a bar inside where you can grab a beer before your movie starts. This is my new go-to theater to watch the latest flicks! read more

They do assigned seats when you buy your tickets, so I'd suggest going a little early if you're picky about where you sit. COFFEE So... after I woke up, I went to the concession stand to get coffee. It was straight up nasty. Obviously I'm not expecting anything spectacular at a movie theater, but I also wasn't expecting nasty. I don't know how someone messes up drip coffee. Pre-measured bag o'coffee and hit a button. It tasted like they used one bag to make two pots so it was watered down and gross. CUSTOMER SERVICE They could definitely pump up customer service a bit. It's just so unforgettable. NEW THANGS I grew up here, so I remember Springfield Mall from the '90s ya'll. This is not THAT mall anymore. It's 100% a new mall. Definitely check it out. read more

The new Regal Cinemas is a far cry from the AMC theaters at opposite ends of the old Springfield Mall. This is definitely one of the best places to watch a movie in the Northern Virginia area. The entrance is on the 2nd floor of the town center by Dick's Sporting Goods. I have been going to AMC Courthouse because of the reclining seats but the ones here at Regal are better. They're paired off in twos with plenty of space so you don't feel like you're on top of the people next to you. I love these because they're extra spacious and so comfortable. Each seat has its own swivel table for that ICEE, glass of wine, or nachos that you're planning to house during the movie. Oh did I mention there was a full bar? Even the floors are a light wood color so it's even easier to navigate the aisles to get to your assigned seat. The only complaint is the concession stand service. You would expect more than 1 person working it on a Saturday. People in line were complaining so much that they were going to miss the start of the movie that the manager himself started dishing out popcorn and sodas. Upgrade your Netflix-on-the-couch binge session and go straight to Regal Springfield Town Center and enjoy a new film on the big screen! read more

WOW, this theater was great! I can now venture closer to home and find parking ALOT easier than I can at AMC Courthouse. I'm selective about my moving watching experience, and having reclining seats where no one kicks my back is my #1 priority! Only the jolly green giant can stretch his legs to kick the backs of these seats! I organized a ladies night to see the funny Magic Mike XXL. I loved the pre-select your seats and buy your tickets option! Getting 9 seats together was a must so the pre-purchase option really made this quite the experience. Our only gripe is if you arrive just prior to your movie, you might experience a long line at the bar! Yes, ladies/gents there is a bar in the lobby. Last night, the line was so long and only 2 servers so we had to come back a couple of times to imbibe on adult drinks. The pours are not very big but the price is yikes...quite pricey. Popcorn lines are non-existent and pricing was good(large bucket $8 for AYCE). The seats recline, and they have this cute tray tables. I'm not sure if they are really needed except to hold my purse. Parking was easy, there is a large structure next to the Dick's Sporting Goods, and an easy escalator up to the theatre. It's good to have that mall entrance since DIck's will close by 9pm. read more

Small theaters but still a big screen, super comfortable seating with electric recliners and swing-away tray tables. Adult beverages are available to purchase and bring inside, at an obvious inflated price like all concessions. You have to think ahead and bring in 2 drinks if you're going to watch a 3 hour movie like Interstellar, or run the risk like the person sitting next to us, and run outside for a refill/bathroom break. I was excited to see the new Bourne movie so I purchased 4 tickets for my wife and I and two friends. I purchased these tickets two weeks in advance. We arrive at the theatre wait in line for drinks and popcorn and to the movie we go... Entering the theatre we find that the seats are handicapped section and although I paid for seats E8-E11, there are no seats for E8 or E11. I venture off to the customer service desk and I am told to go to the kiosk... Ummm... I already purchased and now there are no seats! Then to top it off they sold again the same tickets that I already purchased to other people. Thanks for ruining our Sunday movie plans! I will never be back to Springfield movies again! This movie theater is considered a "luxury" location, so folks with passes take note: you will need to add $1.50/ticket. The luxury is very much worth it. Seats in our theater had plenty of room--loves eat recliners with trays and cup holders definitely make this a luxury experience. On my most recent trip, we arrived in the theater, and noticed one of our seats and tables was wet! We sat next to these and waited, until 20 minutes after the film started and had to move when others came in (and then had a conversation for the next 10 minutes). Though this is a great location, I wish they would not have allowed others to purchase tickets and enter late, which proved a disruption to half the audience. read more

This update is past due and boy have I got an exciting list of movies to update you on: I have to share that I am 1 movie away from receiving my Regal diamond status and i'm soooo excited! With that being said, I'm addicted to this theater, the amazing staff and the comfortable reclining chairs. I go to the movies once a week (as long as there are interesting movies) and really enjoy me time and my recent views include as follows: Phantom Thread- It was good but it was weird...lol... what I mean is that you have to have an open mind and an artists perspective to be able to appreciate the beauty of this movie. The Post- Nothing short of AMAZING!! I would highly recommend that you check this one out before it's out of the theater. It was an excellent movie and the cast was superb! Trust me, you won't regret it :) Jumanji- HILARIOUS!! I don't know about you, but the original movie freaked me out!!! It was just too weird for me but this remake was so funny to the point that I am excited and looking forward to go back for round 2 with friends. The cast was amazing and you won't have a moment of silence to enjoy your popcorn. You'll be too busy laughing..haha Paddington 2- Don't judge me! Yes, I'm 30 and went to go see Paddington, I can't help it! I love animals and he's the cutest of them all! There were a lot of little ones in the theater and they couldn't take their eyes off the screen. It was the cutest experience. Okay, I won't bore you with the rest of my list, but you get the idea, I go here a lot and the amazing staff and clean theaters make every visit better than the last. No more showing up late and having to take the only ones available in an uncomfortable row, because all the rows are comfortable. Chairs are big and recline, and you can watch the movie, or nap if the movie sucks. I may never be happy at a traditional theater again! The seats are so comfortable and you don't feel packed in like a sardine! The assigned seating can be tricky, because you kind of need to spend the extra $$ with Fandango and order ahead but you take your smartphone straight to the ticket taker when you get there and it's nice knowing you don't need to get in line an hour ahead to get a decent seat. Bar service is great, but they really do need to hire a bartender. The guy there seemed like a manager and he was overwhelmed, slow, and seemed out of his element. We saw lots of other manager looking types just walk by while several people were waiting at the bar and none of us had drinks. This could use some work! One of the best theaters in the Northern Virginia area! You can buy tickets online or at the box office and reserve your seats. Speaking of seats, they are soft and spacious recliners. The dolby surround sound is amazing here as you truly hear the whole film and feel it with the vibrations that emits from the speakers. Additionally, the theaters are kept nice and clean. The concessions have your typical variety of movie theater food and snacks. The only issue is that the lines are typically long and do not seem to move fast. So, make sure to come extra early for your film if you plan to get some food from the concessions. read more

Went to see Avenger Endgame, ended up spending $50 on crappy concession food and sitting in a lobby for an hour because of a fire drill. When I was able to get into the theater I find out the movie is over an hour into it and they couldn't get me into another showing unless I wanted the crappy front row (nobody want to spend $30 on the front row). So, in the end three separate people, including the customer service person told me my movie was delayed and then it wasn't, I guess. They didn't even know what was happening, so how should I. Went to see the Avengers Infinity War. I've been to this theater dozens of times and have always been pleased. I enter through the door beside Dick's and take the escalator upstairs. The theater is to your left. The theater has adjustable reclining seats and couches that are ridiculously comfy. Like most theaters it can get a bit chilly inside, so bring a jacket or blanket. The snacks are typical movie snacks-expensive, but I've never had any issues with it. This is my go to theater, so I will be back. read more

Definitely a top-tier theater with a full bar that makes strong drinks. The recliners are roomy, with full armrests on both sides. The tray has enough space for a full meal. The sound is as expected for a theater of this caliber. Pricing is on-par with other theaters in this chain, which is a plus. I like that I can reserve seats in advance. read more

I have been going to this theater for almost 5 years and it's always been my favorite. Not anymore!! The theater is no longer maintained at the same level I've come to expect. I recently went to a movie at 1030 am and the theater was filthy. I'm assuming that the theater was not cleaned the night before. There is no reason that it should be this dirty during one of the first shows of the day. Also, the staff at the concession stand are SLOW. They have become progressively worse over the past 6 months or so. They ask your order 3-4 times and still get it wrong. There should be food runners to make the food. The staff taking orders has to go back and forth between the register to fix food. I've been AT THE REGISTER for more than 20 minutes. That's unacceptable. Clean up and train your staff!! read more
