I was here for a Yelp screening of "A Dogs Purpose." First of all, you have to go see this movie! It was awesome! Although if you cry at movies, (like I do) be ready with some tissues. Ok now on to the theater! It's a little more north than I usually travel, (Northgate to be exact) But the theater is huge! It three stories tall so I hope you like stairs or riding the escalator. The box office is outside the first floor. Once you purchase your tickets, and walk through the first floor doors, the first floor ticket taker takes your tickets and you ride or walk up to the second floor. Now, there is a concession stand there, however if your ticket says any theater above 7, you should just keep going up the stairs/escalators. You are at the top and there is another concession stand on the 3rd floor. (The lines are usually shorter too) The staff is super friendly and great with handling the rush. We got out of the line lickety split! Remember to use your Regal card to get all the great free stuff! the theater was clean, and well situated. The seats weren't stacked upon each other and they were comfortable! Overall, had a nice time! read more

Recommend? Hate this location. Easily the worst movie theater experience compared to any other Seattle movie theaters. Pros: The movies themselves (which has nothing to do with Regal, thankfully. If it did I would not spend my money on it) and assigned seating are probably the best things about this place. If cheetos are your thing you may like their cheetos flavored popcorn. Cons: Their popcorn tastes burnt and flavorless.The only butter you get is at the beginning from lazily doucing some on top which they don't even bother topping off properly. There are no seasonings for the popcorn, not enough parking spots and it's definitely altogether heinously overpriced for a below par experience. Will I be back? You must be joking. Totally understandable that the reason we're here is to watch a movie but being on vacation in a new city, you kind of expect the customer service to be at least on point if it's not great. Our cashier, Rebekka, was just as rude to the customers in front of us. And they were on the older side, clearly the need more time. I usually know what I'm ordering before I get in line but being rushed to order what I want isn't ideal while also having her roll her eyes at me when I didn't know that the icee flavor was red and not strawberry and that coke wasn't an option even though someone else got it. Also, getting told to just put my phone down because you can't scan my rewards code in while you clearly weren't looking where you were scanning was the most irritating part. Good thing we only came here for a movie but maybe you should get your customer service checked Regal. read more

I've been going to this Regal regularly since it opened. I love how big it is and that the free parking is a bit easier than the other movie theater I frequent. Its also nice how convenient it is to the freeway and the park and ride. It's great that they have multiple levels so the concessions become a bit easier with a shorter wait. Also bathrooms on multiple levels is a plus. Lots of escalators and elevators for people who don't care to walk up the many flights of stairs. Plenty of choices for a meal or drink before or after in Thorton Place. It might be nice if you didn't have to wait outside in the cold to get your tickets, but you can certainly avoid this by buying online ahead of time. I almost always opt for the popcorn and end up stuffing myself. Currently Tuesdays has 50% off popcorn with your regal card. I don't love the new Regal card points system as much as the old one, but now you can save your points for merchandise and buy some interesting stuff online with an additional shipping fee. read more

I don't attend movies all that often, but if I do happen to go to one for whatever reason I would say that this is a four-star theater, it is typically quite clean, the upkeep with the snacks and overall appearance of the place, and I have not ever had any real problems with anything. The customer service is typically hit or miss, some of the staff are really kind, while others are not very "gifted" with customer service. read more

This theater is pretty nice! Unfortunately, I live waaay too far away to come back out here again (unless it's for some kind of special occasion). Thornton Place is HUGE! There's like three or four floors of theaters and each floor has a concession area. Our little hall of theaters even had the bathrooms RIGHT next door so we wouldn't be gone for too long during the movie if we had to go. Another bonus - the seats are super plush and comfy. This theater, if you're in the area, is great for a date night or hanging out with friends because it's right across the street from the Northgate Mall and there's tons of places to eat in the same little plaza as the theater. read more

Aiiiu, I must say, this theater = comfy seats, hands down. It's not as comfy as the posh reclining seats at other fancy theaters, but it definitely gets the job done. The location of this place = convenience. Parking options are everywhereeee, from the lot across the street to the garage below the theater at no cost. If you're hungry before or after the movie, there are plenty of food options nearby that are decent. As for prices - just typical. Student discounts are honored here, so flash that student card if you have one. Lines for concessions & bathrooms are never too long and overall, sound system is sometimes a hit or miss. For example, came here to see Beauty & the Beast last night, and man, everything was loud O.O But in a good way. A few weeks ago, I went to see another movie where the audio sometimes went quiet ish for no reason. UPDATE: there is now assigned seating--choose your seats at the box office on a screen. Ticket booth lines could be more organized. Clean facility. If you go often, to get the most bang for your buck I suggest getting the regal crown club card--it's free and you get free stuff. Not recommended to go on Friday nights or weekends because parking is an absolute pain. Not to mention people are very very rude in the garage parking--stealing parking spaces and such. This is my neighborhood theater and it happens to be part of a large shopping complex. There's free 3 hours of parking available below in the lot. Three kiosks await you along with the usual folks ready to take your money the traditional way. Entry at the ground level is followed by one set of stairs/escalators to the main theaters (screens 1-7), where the most recent releases are played, or 3 sets of stairs/escalators to the not so recent releases. There's one elevator available as well. What this means is that even the not so recent releases are in stadium seating configurations with decent sized screens, which is pretty cool. read more

Before AMC Oaktree redid their theaters, Thornton was the better movie theater in the area. Now, it seems they've traded places, and I have trouble sitting still in the seats at this Regal location. I hope it's not like this at all the Regal theaters, but the seat bottoms don't stay put and are too bouncy. There's also less room to sit than Oaktree and nowhere to put popcorn/food besides your lap. I feel like they need a remodel or upgrade to get the seats that Oaktree has. Also, there's no self-refills of drinks or a butter station, so I've been spoiled by other movie theaters that have those available. One of the few main pros of Regal is the movie selection and early tickets for new movies. read more

I love this theater. Sound is great quality. Seating is spacious and super comfortable. I love the theater seats that recline with the feet and back and these leather seats do just that. I also love that you can reserve the seats you want online. Concessions are as expensive as you expect them to be at the movies. Lol. I will say this to anyone who is 6 feet or taller... please be respectful of the people behind you. When your head sticks a foot out past the head rest, your head is in the middle of the screen for everyone sitting behind you. Please recline your seat so people can see the entire screen, or reserve a seat in the back. I know that it sucks and is a little inconvenient, but we all paid tickets to see the movie. You get to reach high objects. It's a trade off. The rest of us short people thank you in advance. read more

It's huge, and the parking is kind of scattered. We're five miles from downtown; yeah, it's a mall, but the parking situation wasn't really mapped out. Actually, it's not so much the walking a block to the front door...it's *finding* the front door that's comical. And this sounds like more of a gripe than is warranted, to be sure. But safe to say that for your first time here, you're kind of wandering in the wilderness, trudging from the lot to the entrance. You wonder whether you parked in the right spot. This place is a bit of a monolith. You walk past a restaurant and other storefronts on you way to the box office and the entrance. Up the escalators with you. Then up more and more escalators with you. Wow, they really packed 14 screens into the smallest footprint they could. That's kinda cool. There are multiple lobbies and concession stands as you whirl your way to the top of Cirith Ungol or whatever the name be of this mighty fortress tower. There are multiple Imax screens, multiple 3D projectors, and every auditorium is clean, comfortable, and given over to good sound and good picture. The staff hovers at the door with trash bags as the credits finish. They really get after it. The bathrooms are clean, well-built, well-lit, tidy...everything you could ask for. They focus primarily--I mean, exclusively, actually--on bigger blockbuster releases. Not every screen is Imax, but every screen is nice and you'll get a good mainstream blockbuster viewing experience here. Happily be back when in the neighborhood or meeting in the middle. Never mind the kids kicking the back of your seat. They're everywhere at multiplexes like this. read more

This was a pretty nice theater. It's relatively clean, has comfy seats and smells strongly of (fresh!) popcorn. The sound system is really clear, without being overwhelming or deafening. We didn't get any snacks but the service at the ticket box was pretty helpful and friendly. It's also one of the newer theaters, so the decor isn't awful, and the bathrooms are pretty clean as well. There's also plenty of parking in the lots around the mall, and places to eat (if you like Five Guys) really close to the theater, so you could get your tickets and then skip off to get food before your movie starts. However, it's clear that when the theater is at capacity, not all seats are created equal. Because we got to the movie late we had AWFUL seats, in that they were really close to the front and on the side, and because the screen was so big you were basically looking sideways the entire time. So be warned: get there early to get good seats! read more

This is one of our top four theaters in Seattle because this location boasts: 1) Stadium seating, newer theater/mutliplex, large seats 2) New releases playing right when they come out, first run movies & events 3) Free parking (Great to have in Seattle, anytime!) Its a check the box theater that meets a lot of requirements we have for a clean, easy, blockbuster movie going experience. It's solidly my fourth favorite spot in the Seattle-area to see a movie. Now I realize this doesn't sound like a glowing recommendation, but its not a particularly charming theater, just big and functional. Its got an odd layout to get up to the top theaters. Keeping in mind how many megaplexs and theaters we have, number four indicates that for us, its a solid option. To be honest, although convenient, we prefer to go to other theaters first (our top three) mainly due to limited food options in Northgate. Its almost always a two stop shop for us on a family movie night, so we tend towards theaters where we can get great food nearby. For those who like Five-Guys Burgers, there is one conveniently at the entrance to this theater and a Red Robin across the way. (Admittedly though, we are not fans.) There is a delicious Flying Squirrel Pizza nearby, but it requires getting in the car on family movie night, and as a former San Francisco family, walking to dinner after our movie is generally how we like to roll, if we can. read more

This is my go-to move theater in Seattle. There's free parking, they often feature the movies I want to see, staff are friendly and courteous, and the place is easy to get to for those of us who live north of the ship canal. We buy discount Regal tickets from Costco to use at this theater. Using our discount vouchers, each movie is only $8.50: a great buy compared to regular priced! If we didn't have those, we probably wouldn't go here as much as we do. We go here at least once a month, as long as there are some decent movies playing (which is getting harder and harder due to Hollywood's terrible choices and aversion to trying anything new and original.) I'm taking off one star because I don't like that they allow park and ride commuters to park in their complex during weekdays. read more

Theater food is always expensive so that is not my complaint. I do complain that $20 worth of snacks worth less than $5 was disgusting, dry, and stale. I didn't want to get up and get a refill during Mission Impossible so I waited till my second film. It was even worst, and no excuse since 6pm is a peak time, so it should have definitely been fresh. Their IMAX is surely lacking. Antman was a better audio and video experience in 2D for less. I regret going here because it was off a easy bus route. I will definitely spend my money elsewhere. Love this theatre! The seats are so comfy, spacious, large, new, & they lean back. I wish I could take the theatre seat home with me ;) Lots of parking, and it's underneath the theatre so you don't get wet when it's raining. Parking is free! Bathrooms are clean & nice. They have those super fast hand dryers. I prefer towels, but since they are the fast ones, it is not so bad. If your movie is showing on the 4th floor, I recommend taking the elevator up, as taking all those escalators is very time consuming, especially if you're late for the movie. Out of all the theatres in the Seattle & surrounding areas, this is definitely my favorite! read more

Pretty good place to see a movie. They generally show the first-run mega-stuff with plots along the lines of "Hot man and essentially helpless but nevertheless hot woman avoid exploding things," but I can go for that from time to time. They do lots of 3-D and IMAX movies but I have yet to see one where I thought that the extra expense was really worth it. Shrug. Seats are really comfy, like REALLY comfy, and have nice high backs, and you can basically rest assured that your view won't be blocked by the people in front of you. Screens are big and volume is set to "stun." Treats are, of course, unhealthy and expensive and the poor teenager working behind the counter is obliged to ask you to "upgrade" for just a dollar more or whatever. But after a "small" bag of popped corn and a cup of pop, I generally feel like I don't ever want to eat again. I went to see "Mad Max" there last week, and the movie itself started 20 minutes after the advertised time because of the number of ads and previews and such, all of which were themselves at ear-splitting volumes. They could definitely stand to rein in all of the ads but I'd guess that pays a fair amount of bills. That's the world we live in...if you want to watch a blockbuster about an exploding zombie dystopian future, you have to first endure a bunch of ads about our exploding zombie consumerist present, and then watch long previews for what are sure to be AWFUL movies made by the same studio that made the one you're about to watch. One last thing: this is the world's tallest cinema. Odds are good that your movie is on the top floor. Do yourself a favor and take the stairs...we are a chubby people and if we lose some of those pounds, the zombies will have less to eat, and that's a good thing. Plus, it's not like you're going to be late for your movie because the previews are most likely still rolling... read more

Watching movies is like one of my favorite past times. And when it comes to watching movies I am kind of a snob in regard to which theaters I will go to. So for me a great movie theater has all of the following: comfy seats, great screen, killer sound system, a jam packed concession stand, and enough parking that it is easy to rush there and when you decided to see the movie last second without having to miss the start of the movie. Regal can pretty much check the box next to all of my critetia. The theater has enough screens to where it is always playing the movies that you want to watch. The theater is new so it of course has stadium style seating and the seats are complete with arm rest that go up and down k case you are on a date. Parking is easy as can be and covered for those cold nights where you don't want to be outside. And of course great screens and sound system for those action movie junkies like myself. What I really love about this theater is that it is in a complex that has a bunch of restaurants attache to it. So you can park in the parking garage and grab a bite to eat at one of the restaurants next door or if you are looking for something quick they are also located next to a.subwat and five guys burgers. Secret insider tip: the theater is pretty empty during the week so invite a friend, bring a blanket and take in a late night weekday movie. read more

This is one of the newer Seattle area movie theaters and it offers 14 screens including IMAX when available. The service here has been good each time I've visited although nothing really stands out as extraordinary. The theater itself is clean, the seats are very comfortable, and the concessions are standard Regal Cinema fare although the popcorn has been on the salty side and not quite as good as at most other theaters. My one major gripe here, and this would actually apply to any theater that is following the surge in IMAX presentation, is the extreme jump in price for IMAX especially when the movie (such as Iron Man 2) wasn't even filmed in the IMAX format. Theater chains are taking advantage of the hype and using it to charge extra for a moderately better experience than their standard screens. The general public doesn't seem to care, so this will continue. My best advice to avoid this would be to look up the movie info beforehand to see if it was filmed and/or formatted for the IMAX screen experience. You know you have been duped when you see the top and bottom portions of the screen not being used during the movie. Other than that, this is a very good theater that I would have no problem recommending to anyone for their movie going experience. read more

This is your standard movie theater. I have to say for the price I would rather go north to cinabar or head to lynnwood and save a few bucks. It was about $4 more expensive per ticket than the matinee in lynnwood. Went to 3d Life of Pets with my son. The guy selling the tickets forgot to give us our glasses, thankfully we asked the lady taking our tickets. The seats where ok. Nothing special. I will say the popcorn was cold when we got it. A Marvel to mix spartan helmets with superhero jumpsuits covered in glowy glowy aura of awesomeness while emitting freakin lasers out of the hands. A movie that reminds you that bomber jackets are hot, 80s are still rampaging in excessive references, and plot holes in the universe can be patched up with additional superheroes films. It's Stan Lee homage is worth the price of admission. One point deduction for a rewards points surcharge due to freshness of release. The removal of such barrier, albeit it be the cost of a costco hot dog, is an unexpected speedbump for frequent movie-goers. It removes min/max preparation activities, a simply win-win proposal by eliminating the possibilty of the customer changing the date to cash out their points. read more

After some seamless bong rips and bus rides, we made it to the Isle of Dogs. I haven't been to a movie in a while and was unaware of how hilariously large all of the sizes are. My friend and I waited for our side of jalapeños to go with our nachos, while each holding a Coca Cola paper cup that could fit an entire baby in it. Of course our high asses got lost in the maze of escalators and floors that is Regal Cinemas Thorton Place, and noisily sat down in our assigned seats just as the movie was beginning. The film was incredible. I was captivated by Wes Anderson's world of stop animation and tried my best not to crunch during the silent parts. Cons: was definitive a pricey adventure and made us realize how nice it would be with a car. read more

This is a decent place to see a film You can buy the ticket online and use your smartphone to walk up to the door. This is a great option. The concessions are on the 16th and 28th floors (ok.. actually the 2nd and 4th floors, maybe? but it seems like you're taking those escalators FOR EVER!) I haven't heard any sound problems from one theater to the next, but I'm usually there to see big blockbuster movies without lots of quiet parts. This place is definitely a happening spot on a Friday night. Perhaps it was extra crowded the day we went because Hunger Games had just come out the day before. I'd say the main reason why this movie theater is 3 and not 4 stars is because their parking situation really stinks. The structure in itself is super confusing. It winds around like it is a giant maze. I felt dizzy circling around trying to find a spot. The parking also has poor instructions on where to go. There are no visible exit signs inside the structure. I wish they had signs letting you know if you are level x. The numbered parking spots were helpful but it would be nice to know what level you're on. The cinema has so many floors. We went up four floors before we reached movie theater 8. Of course, there are escalators but if you want a good work out, you can take the stairs. The move theater in itself was pretty nice and comfortable. The seats appear rather new where they recline. I thought that was pretty unique. Some seats are terribly uncomfortable at the older theater. read more

Not my favorite theater. It's generally pretty dirty and dingy and the staff's fuck bucket is completely empty.

This place is new, clean, and well staffed BUT... The screens are far to small for something this far out from Seattle proper. With the amount of real estate out here (proverbially speaking) there is really no reason for this other than poor planning. Sadly, there is nothing that can be done about this, by regal... by me, I'll just be going to other theaters in the area with larger screens. I guess I'm just really surprised that since this seems like a brand new theater that such small layouts would have been agreed upon. Is this the death knell of movie theaters as we know them? Is this Regal grasping for straws or just poor execution? It's really a pity because there is a parking garage on site that makes this ridiculously convenient if you drive... too bad. read more

Seats in this theater are the most comfortable in Seattle! In my experience, that is. I don't come here as often as I frequent downtown theaters. But whenever I do visit here, I get pretty excited. This is my go-to theater because it's close by and I love being able to use my Regal rewards card here to get free popcorn, drinks and movie tickets. I would've given this place five stars, but I witnessed an older lady's car get broken into in the garage downstairs :( That was really depressing to see because I felt so bad for her... and I actually park down there in the mornings sometimes! Ugh. Anyway, I digress... the movie selection could also be better, but it's nice that this place has the IMAX theater when I'm in the mood to be visually stimulated.
