The theater is pretty nice that's the only reason I gave it a 3 stars the seats are comfortable but the food is another thing. The food was not good, I ordered a pizza and pizza from school looks better then the pizza they serve hear and that's saying a lot. The bread was still very white and did not smell like pizza. This theatre upped their game! Perhaps they have new management but it's positively changing. Their auditoriums had some remodeling done so they have these awesome recliners now and their floors are much nicer. The prices on their tickets and food are still cheaper than an AMC, but I wouldn't doubt a change in that coming soon. Overall, had a really good visit! read more

It's close and it's cheap, but that's not enough of a draw to make me come back. It's not a terrible theater but by no means is it good. Like much of LA, it could benefit from a good facelift. Not the comfiest seats or the most aesthetic or logical layout. The line for snacks wasn't long yet somehow it took us a while to pay for our food and get out -- and the popcorn bags are already filled (which makes the process efficient but the popcorn isn't exactly the freshest)! Also, I'm pretty sure my friend and I could've snuck into another movie easily. Where were the employees? Just got back from this movie theater and I doubt that I'll come here again. Restrooms are a mess, seats are uncomfortable (lower back than most cinema seats), and what bothered me the most was the temperature in there. It's 46 degrees (F) outside and the AC in the movie theater was on!!! Everybody in there was freezing!! If you're looking for a cozy atmosphere and a comfortable place to watch a movie, this is not where you want to end up. read more

Quite possibly the best theater to make it a double, triple or quadruple feature. Hell, I think one time in my wild and crazy youth I watched eight movies in a row here by jumping theaters. Somehow I'm surprised I made it out of that situation alive. In my youth this place used to be a total shit hole. Then I later found out that they expanded the theater out and put in a couple more screens.. needless to say, it still remained to be a piece of shit theater. Now, I'm sure you think I'm just cursing because i suffer from a distinct lack of intellect. Not so. I say this place is a shit hole because it is a shit hole. One that you'd most likely get stabbed or shot at. In fact, there was a lot of violence going on here in my youth when I would treat this place as a method to kill a day for only $7 bucks. You'd pop in and jump from theater to theater. No one really gave a damn because, well... who cared. They sure weren't paid enough to care. The floors were always sticky, the seats were broken. The fact that I don't suffer from terrible back problems from spending so much time here as a broke kid is a wonder to modern science. I suppose the whole jumping theater and getting the most bang for your buck was helped by the fact that this was a double feature/two for one theater. Most of the time the film pairing didn't make a god damn bit of sense. Yeah, that was a lot of times. I can't forget the time when someone was shot at a screening of Friday. Yeah... probably best not to think that my childhood was spent in a place that had such easy access to weapons that you'd want to take one to a movie theater for whatever reason. Place is a dump. I'd suggest you just go to a red box if you're ever in the need of some movie fix. Much better than leaving here in a body bag. read more

The only thing that could make this theater more ghetto is if accepted WIC or food stamps as a form of payment. First of all, it's $9.75 per ticket. I've been to theaters 100% better and paid less. Second, the people that go there could not be more inappropriate. The only reason you should ever come to this movie theater is if a) your abuelita is in town from Mexico and she's in the mood to see a movie, but she doesn't speak English. This is the only theater that I know of that plays movies in Spanish, or with Spanish subtitles... or b) if your mom brought you here as a kid a lot, then you grew up sneaking into every other movie you were too young to see, and you were in the mood for some nostalgia... or c) if you you're broke as fuck and you don't mind sitting through a 2 for 1 movie on Mondays or Thursdays with a whole buncha loud kids and parents who don't care that their kids are loud. You get what you pay for... but c'mon! It's Commerce! Go play at the arcades right in front while you're at it! Make it a real trip down memory lane! Oh, and... don't eat the food. read more

MUST READ!!! Ah where ever will I start? Mind you that I've been to this theater a handful of times and have never had a particularly good experience. Stale popcorn, flat sodas, uncomfortable seating, small screens, sticky floors etc. The 2 best things about that place is that they charge their worth on Tuesdays and theres a Starbucks near by. I went yesterday to watch a movie and about 40 minutes into the movie, the movie STOPS! lights come on and everything! My date and I are confused to say the least. I let the staff know that the movie spontaneously stopped mid scene, and they told me to speak to a manager so I did. The manager, George Gonzalez, was a short flabby man with a drunk look in his face, who wore a bright red button up that was about 2 sizes smaller than it should've been with wet greasy hair. I let him know that the movie stopped and he told me that my options were 1. to just wait until it started playing again ( I didn't appreciate the lack of respect for my time) 2. to just watch another movie ( I don't want to watch anything else and it was 4pm, the next showing for this movie was after 10pm ) 3. to take a coupon to watch a movie another day, but not just any other day, it needed to be next week on Tuesday... tf makes you think I EVER want to come back after this? I asked him if I could just get refunded and he said "No, after you've watched 30min of the movie you cannot get refunded". I understand the policy but YOUR THEATER JUST HAPPENED TO SHUT DOWN AFTER 30min! I decide to go with option 1 and give the movie a few min to start back up and it finally does... but about 3min later it shuts down again... Im DONE! I let him know that the movie stopped again and he simply repeated the 3 options above, stated that it was out of his control, and unapologetically brushed me off. I asked him if there was really no way he could make this right, and he said no. I take all my desire to backhand him, give him and over the head wedgie, a mouthful of the recycled popcorn they use, and dunk his head in the toilet with a piece of sht, and I turn it into a smile and I simply say... Omg, where to start? The Restrooms- The restrooms are something from a horror movie! Bad lighting, piss under each urinal, warn out urinals as if they are 15 years old with little maintenance, theres an ominous sound that comes from the vents, the stalls are a mess, graffiti carved into the stall walls and at the walls of the urinals, and it smells like piss and cheap urinal cakes. Honestly this restroom was scarier than the feature i paid to see! (It was The Nun) the only redeeming quality that this restroom had was the foam soap dispenser! Talk about saving presious seconds getting out of there, jeesh. Second, Using a debit card- this place asks for your identification card when you use your debit card. Management says " people steal in this area, so we have to ask for ID." They make me feel like a criminal who has to be proven innocent! This is America the justice system states- "the burden of proof is on the one who declares, not on one who denies" and they will illegally refuse you service if you dont prove your innocence. So yeah fuck that. The "food"- i use quotes cause that under-microwaved crap is not real food to me. Pretzels are gross, hotdogs are gross, any of the stuff they "heat up" for you is Gross! Prices- prices are inflated dramatically! A box of Twizlers would cost you over $5 where as of you got it from say, food for less, would be less than 3. A hot dog, would cost More than $5 but it's not worth it. You'd get a better hot dog from an ampm gas station, and for cheaper! Inflation is not limited to the food, but the drinks too. Management is a bitch too. Go in eith a glass bottle and they will make you throw it away. They say " it mighy break and someone can get hurt". So im like " Fuck, it might be covered by health and safety regulations.". "Game spot"- most of their games dont work. Why even have em occupying that space if they dont make you money? Like for real you have already ditched it as a plan to make revenue years ago so just put em in storage or sell them and put in some fucking couches or someshit. The only this i truly don't hate about this place is, the seats. They aren't the best or made of leather. They are fabric, but they are super cushioned for big people which makes it super cushioned for a medium guy like myself and you can put away the arm rests and put your feet up. That's it. Very disappointing !! As most movie-lovers are quite well-aware, going to the movies these days cost a lot of money. So, it's not unreasonable to try and get the most out of your movie-going experience by opting for the better-equipped and more-pleasant-atmosphered theater as long as the cost is about the same. Now, if you agree with my sentiment on the matter, the Pacific theatres at Commerce is the one you should avoid. I went to watch Star Trek this past Saturday. The movie opened only a week ago, but yet they were showing it on one of the tiniest screens I've seen in a theater in years. (which led me to believe most of the screens there were similar-sized) Then there was the NOISE. The A/C vent(or the fan) was making a decent amount of whirring noise throughout the duration of the movie. The problem was, however, that the noise would stop for brief periods of time and resume which was very distracting to me. After all, the admission still was $9.50 a person. This theatre has a rather weird concept as you stand in the same line to get your ticket, your popcorn and your drink. If I really wanted to, I would have just snuck into a theatre without paying but I am not that type of girl. I came during the week before noon and paid $7 for a ticket which is a bargain and had no problems in terms of the seating and quality of sound. Of course the seats don't recline but if I want comfy seats, I will sit on my couch. I can imagine that the later showings can get a little more rowdy but thats why I only would frequent this place in the AM hours. read more

This place is a prime example of quantity over quality, I walk in with low expectations and not only where those expectations verified but as I walked out of the theater I was traumatized over the "experience" I just had. Oh wow I thought to myself it's only $7 for an adult ticket! This is great! Well it wasn't... You walk into the theater to see a "cafeteria style" concessions stand where they sell microwave burritos... Yum? To your left you see a Simpsons arcade machine from the late 90's "fancy!" To your right there are two hallways an upstairs one and a downstairs one. I was seeing batman v. Superman that night and the movie was great! However every thing else was not... the theaters are very odd, they are long wide hallways with sets down them: you pick your seat and relax as you watch the commercials... And then... IT HAPPENS! As everyone else sits down and the beginning credits start everyone in the theater decides nows the time to turn on there phones! There's large family's talking and about 12 people with there phones on and a group taking photos of the movie WITH THERE FLASH ON! So now that I have that out of my system this theater is nothing but an insult to movie going and everything associated to its name. If your going to watch a movie just play the extra five bucks and treat yourself! So for lack of a better word the regency theater is a violation of all your senses, do avoid this theater... If you have children with you or want to have a nice relaxing movie time, AVOID this place. This theatre has sweaty teenage kids running around, people smoking weed in their cars. There also female chola girls sitting outside staring you up & down. When you get to the concession stand, the popcorn are prefilled under heating lamps. (When I ate the popcorn, it was cold and stale) . Inside the movie theatre, the seats are old, the screen is very dimmed and streaky. I would not recommend this place. I like this place. Not the best but it's convenient because it's so near home. I have a rewards card and i am get excited when I use it because I can check my balance and I use it in various different Regency locations. This one is close to the Commerce Shopping Center and I love coming here. This is a small theater and it is a carpeted floor you cannot bring any food from outside. Even though, you are surrounded by many food courts and restaurants. You can only eat before or after. I have never had an issue with the staff and everyone has been pretty cool and relaxed. I came down here last week to watch Hustlers and to my surprise there has been a huge upgrade. You can now have reserved seating. And the seats have remote reclining capability as well as a small tray and soda cup holder so you can eat your snacks. The best upgrade ever. Also, don't forget about the KIOSK outside for you credit card holders for your tickets instead of waiting for a cashier. read more

My wife and I decided to see a movie here last Wednesday night because it happened to be across the street from the fish taco restaurant where we had dinner. Unlike every other theater I've ever been to, there was nobody at the door making sure you bought a ticket. You buy your ticket at the concession stand, where there is one employee on duty. Anybody can just walk in off the street. Sometime after the movie started, a man and a woman came in, sat down in the back row, and began talking loudly. I waited about five minutes, then I turned around and asked them to be quiet. The man got up, came over to my seat, and started cursing at me and threatening to beat me up. When I didn't get up to fight him, he went back to his seat and cursed at me for another five minutes. At that point, a theater employee came in and asked him to leave - but not before he got up and came back to my seat for a second round of curses and threats. The only other people in the theater while this was happening were my pregnant wife and a family with four children. As we were leaving the theater, we saw a half-empty bottle of cheap vodka lying on the ground beneath the man's seat. So yes, the very first time my wife and I went here, we were nearly assaulted by a a random bum who came in off the street to sit in the back row and drink a fifth of cheap vodka. This theater is a mess in all aspects. Overall, it's trashed and outdated, which probably is due to age and lack of funding. So that's not entirely its fault. Old flat seats make a terribly uncomfortable experience and the arm rest don't move which makes you feel locked in. There's hardly any leg room. Fortunately, the theater was so empty I could put my feet on the chair in front of me. The biggest issue was the lack of control in the theater. People were coming and going in the theater and it's obvious that most of them don't even have tickets. Now I'm not one to be a buzzkill about theater hopping, but when you're coming in half way through the movie and causing a ruckus then there's a problem. These people are waltzing in talking out loud and shuffling around from seat to seat. The worst part is that some of them were little kids probably age 7-12 and they were freely cursing up a storm. I swear the youngest child was dropping F bombs several times. Obviously this is more bad parenting rather than the theaters fault but nobody from the theater came in to check. People were shushing and complaining and staff came in one time, looked around, and left. Not a single thing was done to prevent this. When I go to a movie theater I would hope to have a clean, comfortable, interruption-free experience. I felt very uneasy and uncomfortable throughout my visit. From the parking lot full of terrible indecisive drivers and teenagers blatantly smoking weed to the terrible audience and seating, this theater can not provide an enjoyable movie watching experience. Good thing our tickets were free because it's not even worth the below average $9.75 price per ticket. read more
