When I left the dental office, I felt like the office staff were more concerned about money than about their patient. I also found it odd that to email Debbie I had to use another person's name, Donna Burton. Are they operating under somebody else and don't want the general public to know? I was told $10,000 worth of work and that they'd go over it with me, but I didn't have time to go over it so they were going to call. The dentist was a male, nobody named Donna, and I like to see impeccable hygiene on any dentist or doctor that I am a patient. I wanna know that your beard hair is trim and your breath is OK and your nails are clean because all of that matters with any doctor/dentist I deal with. I thought the receptionist spoke people's business for everybody to hear in the waiting room, and while they would both be on the phones, I couldn't even see how they could keep track of who they were talking to because they both had no privacy. Definitely about money and I understand most places are, but caring about your patient is what brings people back. read more

I was a patient at Regency Dental for over twenty years. When I got married, my wife began going there as well, back when Donna Burton owned the practice. We were always satisfied with the care we received. A couple of years ago, Donna retired and sold the practice. Since then, our experience has changed significantly. The new dentist does not honor or stand behind work previously completed at the office. In my opinion, when you purchase a practice, you assume both its assets and its responsibilities. During my first visit with him, he immediately began recommending thousands of dollars in additional dental work. The approach felt aggressive and financially driven, so I decided to stop going. My wife continued as a patient, although she experienced similar pressure for extensive dental work. She ultimately felt she needed treatment and went in yesterday for crowns. Today she is in significant pain -- to the point of tears. She was not provided with any meaningful pain management and was simply told to take Tylenol. She also had to advocate strongly just to receive adequate numbing during the procedure itself. This is not the same practice it once was. The level of care, communication, and patient consideration we experienced for decades is no longer there. Unfortunately, we are very disappointed and will not be returning. read more

5 months after having a procedure done they attempted to charge me another $262 saying my insurance didn't cover it after all. When I was upset and said I was going to contact Delta Dental to complain they sent me a dismissal letter. Stay away from this dental practice!!! read more

I can only say positive things about Regency Dental. My visit was quick and totally painless, on several levels.

I've been coming Regency for a few years now and with that came a new change in management. Knowing full well there might be some personnel changes that I would have to get used to. I thought it best to give them a chance because I was very satisfied with my previous hygienists and everyone should be given a fair chance to prove themselves. After a few experiences with my one and only hygienist I am convinced it's not just me. The vibe I get from her is a hurried experience that makes me nervous And here's why. 1. Makes very little conversation which makes for a less friendly experience (cold bed side manners) 2. Instruments not engaged or "in a holding pattern" are touching my lips or cheek 3. *Drilling instrument dropped on my chest * this was the one that broke the "camels back for me". I waited for her to say something or apologize, but not one acknowledgment of what happened was uttered during or afterwards. I'm willing to overlook issues #1-2, but not even saying "are you, ok" or "sorry about that" just isn't right. At the very least she should have said something. On the good side the Front desk personnel and Dr. Carter are my champions and I feel that they are kind and listen to my needs and I am thankful for their professionalism. I'm willing to try another hygienist with Regency because I know we all have days when we're not at our best, but after a few experiences with this one hygienist I'm sure it isn't me. Please re-train or counsel your personnel to keep this from occurring. read more

Do yourself a favor and skip this office. I was with Dr. Burton for a long time with no challenges. As soon as Dr. Carter took over, my visit was horrendous. No personality, no talking to me about why he's referring me somewhere else. Just all-around terrible office. I had an appointment at the start of this year, and I received a call the night before with no message left. My appointment was at 9am, I stayed home from work to make the appointment, and at 8:40 I received a call that he wasn't in the office. Great planning. This happened twice in the same week. The dental hygienist should also stop talking about herself, her parents money, what they do for her, and her teeth. It's tiresome, self-centered, and nobody cares. Unfortunately this review is not about Dr. Carter nor the dental hygienists. This review is because of the way the front desk receptionists have treated me. This is not a first time occurrence and at this point it needs to be publicized. Receptionists are supposed to be professional, patient, and knowledgeable. These ladies are rude, condescending, and unhelpful. I recently changed jobs so I did not know that my insurance ended the last day on the job. I thought I had 30 days after my final date. I ended up ordering a mouth guard that the receptionists said my insurance covers. I just had to pay $100 down payment. Anyway since my insurance had ended I had to pay the remaining balance out of pocket. When I went into the office about 3 months after ordering the mouth guard the receptionists immediately demanded payment saying they sent me statements. Instead of asking me if I saw these statements or asking me questions about my insurance. They just assumed I saw these statements which I had not! Turns out they had the wrong address on file. My problem is they were aggressive in requesting the payment instead of trying to understand maybe why I hadn't paid. I hadn't paid because the address they were sending the invoice to I no longer lived there. I told them I have insurance but they refused to reach out to my insurance saying I didn't have insurance then so it doesn't cover the mouth guard now. Isn't that something that my insurance company should work out? Not the secretaries? I paid for the mouth guard, had my usual cleaning, and gave them my insurance information. For the next two weeks these ladies kept calling me harassing me saying I don't have insurance. They were rude and kept saying I don't have insurance. They were so disrespectful I had my husband get involved and handle the situation. Turns out they needed his information since I am covered on his insurance. These ladies would not even try to trouble shoot this or help me at all. They just kept insisting I don't have insurance. The rudest and most unprofessional women I have ever encountered. I will no longer come here because of them. This is not how you treat ANYONE. They must really hate their job to treat people so rudely. Dr. Carter should be ashamed to have these ladies as the face of Regency Dental. I wish them happiness since they clearly lack it. Happy people don't treat people like garbage. read more

Excellent care and communications, no pressure upselling services or procedures. answers questions thoughtfully and fully. my third visit over past 18-24 months and I'm impressed by his chair-side professional manner that exudes confidence and is comforting to me. He thoughtfully considers my insurance coverage and suggest which work can be done next year when it's covered or needs to be done sooner. I've been going to Dr. Carter ever since he took over the practice, and I've honestly had great experiences every time. The whole staff is wonderful, but Claudia is truly something special. I have really sensitive teeth and usually get pretty anxious before dental appointments, but whenever Claudia does my cleaning, I feel at ease and completely taken care of. She's professional, but she also has this fun, warm personality that instantly puts you at ease--it feels like having a supportive friend with you the whole time. She's gentle, thorough, and I always leave with my teeth feeling amazingly clean. I actually try to book my appointments specifically with her now. read more

I was not happy that my dentist, Lance Carter did not even come back to check on the ceramic crown a member of his staff made. He did not tell me that a non-dentist would make and affix the new crown, etc. Poor communication and service. If I'm paying a dentist to perform the work, that's whom I want to see from beginning to end period. I've never had a dentist just do the drilling and then dissappear!! No, explanation if there are staff that have degrees, certifications, etc., to perform making the crown and affixing it, etc. The front office, I have no complaints nor towards the assistant during the drilling. read more

My kids and I been going to Regency for the last year. They have been great. Dr. Carter is knowledgeable, efficient and verykind. My kids were apprehensive of a new dentist and transitioning away from a pediatric only clinic. However, it has been great. Dr. Carter has eased their worries and was so quick and efficient. Same for me. I highly recommend. The front office is also very flexible and friendly. There is a charge for canceling less than 48 hours. The front office staff we very friendly and welcoming. My husband and I had a new dental insurance policy and Heather helped us understand how our coverage works, (i.e. waiting periods on certain procedures, what our share of cost would be, etc...). Carrie, my Hygienist, was also very friendly and helpful with suggestions about my particular problem areas. (I was overdue for a cleaning). She got my teeth and gums thoroughly cleaned with minimal discomfort. Dr. Carter was very nice and professional as he reviewed my X-rays with me and explained my best treatment plan and options. I just spent $1100.00 for a crown, didn't see the dentist the last 2 hours, the work was completed by assistant. No review of my dental treatment plan. Just pay the money and that was it. I feel like they're just going for the high dollar stuff, what about the routine cleanings and stuff? Nothing said. I might look for a new dentist. read more
