Deceptive, Dismissive and Unprofessional! On February 21st, we called the Sterling, VA Regency store to confirm that a particular model mattress was on the floor. Iris told us three times that she confirmed that model with Damian, and it was there. We made it clear we were driving a long distance specifically to see that specific mattress. When we arrived, Damian had "left," and Liz suddenly couldn't find the mattress. Instead of producing what we were promised, she started steering us toward other models and brands - walking us for an extended and frustrating time through the store. After we insisted on seeing the one we were assured was available, Iris claimed it had been "sold during our drive." If that were true, we would have been told upon arrival -- not walked around while being redirected. When we refused to look at other inventory, Liz told us to leave. We drove a significant distance based on confirmed assurances and were completely misled. The experience felt deliberate and dishonest. Bait & Switch? We came to Regency (Sterling) to look for a bed for my mother. This was the second place we visited during the day and weren't sure if we would find something that interested us. Upon entering, we were immediately greeted by Asad. He explained to us where everything was located in the showroom as well as current promotions going on. I typically don't like when a salesperson follows you throughout the showroom, as it interferes with the shopping experience but Asad gave us just enough attention when we needed it and answered all of our questions. In the end, we found and purchased the perfect bed for my mother. Great selection and value at Regency. Customer service C/S is lousy. We purchased a high end leather sofa with 2 recliners. The recliners don't level in line, the seat cushion is flattening out and the leather is fading. We were told these issues are not covered under warranty. I told Stephanie with C/S we are not happy with their C/S. She said sorry, they have rules to follow by. told her we have had leather for 20 yrs and had no problems like this. We do not recommend Regency furniture to anyone. FYI. Second time in the store and had the worst experience here tonight. 1. A good chunk of the living room furniture isn't available allegedly bc they haven't recovered inventory since black friday. It's early January now. Imagine being a furniture store and not having very much stock to sell. 2. The only confirmed inventory is what is marked in-stock, which wasn't a lot. However, the kicker here is for sectionals (and other "sets") is that even if it's flagged as in-stock, it doesn't mean all the pieces are available. 3. Despite hardly any of their "in-stock signs being correct, the store can confirm whether or not they have the inventory. However, if you want to order a piece, it takes the warehouse up to a week to confirm the delivery date. So you have to put money down first, wait for the phone call, then decide whether or not you want to wait. And that wait can be 2 to 12 weeks. I mean, 3 months really? Sometimes even longer they said. 4. The salesman had the ridiculous notion that we would be interested in a sectional without arms. He came up with an absurd configuration that we frankly found insulting. It's already bad enough that your showroom is mismarked, but suggesting we make a ratchet compromise like how he was a complete waste of our time and came off as VERY patronizing. 5. Continuing on with this treatment, he completely ignored the type of styles we were interested in. He kept suggesting models that were very different from the ones we wanted. It's already bad enough with the rudeness, how you're not even paying attention to your customer's needs. Not a good way to be a salesman. 6. We asked if we could buy one of the out of stock sets we were interested in. The store's policy is no because the products are not yet discontinued. Understandable-ish but you cannot confim restock either. And again, your signs are misleading of what is available. It makes one question why this store even bothers being open if so little is availabe. Imagine trying to sell multi-thousand dollar furniture, yet making it so difficult to even figure out what is available and what isn't. 7. I mentioned to my partner that since we identified the manufacturer we like, maybe we could look at their website. The salesman interrupted and advised that the name brands on the displays DO NOT MATCH the sets. They just pick random ones he said and they don't always match. So you make it hard to figure out what inventory you have, and you also make it difficult to identify the manufacturer. This is a big red flag, but I still had hope. 8. As I considered the idea of going through their delayed delivery process, we talked more about floor models and he said that would be a great way to go. However, it turns out they won't deliver to you if you buy a floor model, despite spending in upwards of $3000+ they won't deliver it to me. He said, "You can pick it up anytime, we can give you the card of a local person in the area that delivers furniture, or if you know a guy..." Do you realize how bad this all sounds for a supposedly high-end furniture store? It was bad enough you suggested a janky sectional configuration, and now we're compromising on basic delivery terms....smh. I was at my limit of frustration. Too many red flags, and I didn't like how the guy was treating us but I decided to not take it out on him. I just said that I was getting too frustrated, that it wasn't his fault, and that we're going to leave because these policies and the experience are not okay with me. As I walk away, he hollers at me and challenges me with a "How so?" So, you're going to challenge me instead of asking "Is there anything I can do to make this better?" or even anything remotely kind at all? I was clearly getting frustrated but instead of being empathetic, it was just a lot of patronizing bs that made the store look extremely bad. You clearly don't value your customers and it shows in your customer service. Your policies and how you run your business are bad enough, at least teach your young salesman to be kinder. In the meantime, there are plenty of other stores out there. Don't waste your time here. read more

We purchased 5 beds and when they were delivered NONE of they had the pre-drilled holes to attach the slats to. In addition one bed came without footboard. They said it was left at loading area but would not go back to pick it up. We have asked to speak to a manager but none will call us back. We get offered a Regency $100 gift card. We had to pay a handy man to fix the bed slats and still don't have a working bed since we do not have footboard to attach it to. I understand errors but the fact that no manager will call us back to try and fix this issue is insane. Stay away from Regency Furniture it will only end up in a nightmare for you. read more

However now I went to cancel it at the store since it's been the 12 weeks, they said that it's been sitting in the warehouse and someone put in a note into the system for it to not be delivered the whole time and now they want to charge me a cancellation fee of $450 because they already paid the manufacturer. How is the my fault??? Clearly the contract states that after the 12 weeks they won't charge you a cancellation fee because you haven't gotten the furniture. I will be getting my lawyer involved since they now broke the contract and want to give me a run around of bullshit acting like they don't know anything. Starting from their absolute garbage delivery system to straight up lying about comfort guarantee on their mattresses. They have been lying to me for 35 days that they are working on replacement on the mattress. I have all the text from the sales rep to prove it. He kept on telling me that after 30 days of use, if I am still not happy with the mattress, they will change it. And after 35 days, they just straight told me that they cant do anything. She was of course a delight when we came in to buy the couch and she has been a NIGHTMARE to deal with ever since. We purchased our couch in APRIL and We were told because of Covid our couch could be delayed up to 6 weeks, which we understood. The originally delivery date was mid May, and since has been moved out 4 or 5 times. I called last week and Sara said she didn't know where our couch was and would have to "look into it" and call us back. I called several days later and spoke with her again and she said she still "didn't know" I finally called corporate office today and they immediately knew our couch wasn't expected until JULY 18. I call Sara back again and she says we can't receive a full refund until it's been exactly 8 weeks from the purchase date AND she says she will need us to come into the store personally for the refund. We started off dealing with Regency in Brandywine, MD, but due to Covid-19 we had to find a VA location still in operation. We tried Woodbridge and the customer service over the phone was awful. I was skeptical to try Sterling next, but Sarah the sales manager was so extremely helpful over the phone and made sure I didn't waste a trip from Maryland to Virginia. She is very personable and made our buying experience really really smooth and easy. I would actually drive all the way back to Sterling just to work with her if we ever need new pieces for our home. BUYER BEWARE!!!the sales people are lined up at the door to pounce and pounce they do. I needed to buy a new mattress. friends suggested Dream Cloud. the on,y place I could "test" it was at Regency, an hour from my home. I was all set to buy the mattress on line but regency had the same deal so I bought it there. Huge mistake! after a week I was not really happy with the mattress but by the end of a couple of more weeks I was miserable. I began to initiate a return. Dream Cloud guarantees 365 day returns. the catch...Regency does not honor the DC promise. they send out an inspector to verify that the mattress is not damaged/defective and the. tell me I'm not eligible for a return. I wasn't asking for a return.I was asking for a refund. I'm sleeping in the guest room and going for PT and acupunctur... I guess it is getting near time to lawyer up. read more

I ordered a twin mattress on 8/4/21 and was told two weeks for delivery to the store and we could pick it up then. 2.5-3 weeks later and I hadn't heard anything so I HAD TO CALL THEM to follow up, to which they told me it hadn't come in and would be 2 more weeks (everything is 2 weeks with them ‍). So, 3 more weeks and I called back (again, they didn't reach out to me) to check the status and again it hadn't come in. I was told 2 more weeks by one of the managers and she gave me her personal cell phone number so I could call her and check in on it in a few weeks. Welp, I gave it some more time, didn't hear anything so called her and she didn't answer. So I called the store and spoke with another manager who told me, you guessed it, 2 more weeks at least. So I told him I just want to cancel my order at this point to which he replied there would be a 30% cancellation fee. So I asked what my options were and he told me I can either cancel with the fee, get a different mattress, take the floor model used one or continue to wait. He then assured me that on 10/18/21 they are getting and order of 75 of them in and to call back then to see if they came in. I called back on 10/20 and he told me (SURPRISE!) they never came in but they "special ordered one for me to be here by the end of October". Yeah, I'm not going to hold my breath. Come November 4th my 12 weeks are up and they have to refund me 100%. Thank goodness! I understand it's Covid and things are slower, but it's still just a super shitty situation where I've now wasted 12 weeks of my time waiting for a mattress. I would have had NO PROBLEM waiting the 12 weeks if I was told up front that's how long it was going to take. But don't keep telling me "2 weeks" and then not even having enough decent customer service to CALL ME and let me know if changes...but rather I have to call you. I will NEVER EVER buy anything from here again. Hopefully this review will help someone else from making the same mistake we did. ***UPDATE: I emailed the Jessica lady who responded to my review and have not heard back from her yet. Additionally, today is 11/4 (the last day for my full refund) and for the FIRST TIME SINCE I PLACED THE ORDER, the store called me. They said "your mattress is in store and ready for pickup". Had a delivery scheduled to my apt building, the entrance door is only able to be opened by someone who lives here with an app through your phone or from the inside. Delivery driver said nobody was home but the entrance door was open and propped to stay open...how?...and then they left. Fast forward about a month nobody reached out to reschedule so I called, gonna be another two weeks at earliest for them to come back out, so I tried canceling which I was told I'd have to pay 30% of the total even though now I've waited about a month and a half with no attempt from them to reach out to me. Unexpected awful customer service I have bought three rooms from Sterling store a month ago but my experience was extremely bad for the following reasons: 1- The store manager (Sara) has invoiced me wrong items and never help to sort the issue out and blamed me that was my mistake. i have contacted the corporate office customer service to solve and it happened. 2- The store prices are much higher than the their online store and i have asked for some sort of price match but never happened !!! 3- The store manager has informed me that i have to pay delivery fees although they have a complementary delivery and she pushed to sell the protection plan instead of the delivery fees.... 4- I have emailed the corporate with my complaint hoping the the district manager ( Mr. Greg ) to help me out . He has called me once ( month ago) and promised to comeback to me but he never come back and didn't answer my calls/ SMS. I believe customers have to be dealt with a full transparency , respect and commitment . We have a HORRIBLE, HORRIBLE, and HORRIBLE experience with Regency Furniture store in Sterling, VA. We started off dealing experience with Ashley. They sent us totally wrong coach (they are nice people but not professional) and we need to move on to different furniture store and ended up with Regency. We bought a queen bed and two coach. After a long time wait we got them with damage. Coach was damaged during the delivery and incomplete installation of the queen bed. I told them about damage but they said they will take care of it in a few days. The bed frame looked "nice" BUT it squeezed and made a noice right after delivery people installed and left. Therefore, we checked underneath the bed and it looked like it was missing A LOTs of parts that should support the bed!!!!! We could not use it and went to the Regency stores again and met manager Sarah and showed her the pictures and videos we took. She said that they could not do anything. It is delivery department "problem". Then I tried to return them but again she said they will change 30% of the price for the return. Can you believe it?!? If I changed my mind and tried to return furniture it could sound reasonable. But here, they delivered the damaged and incomplete furniture. It is not our fault though... where is their common sense and costumer service!!! DO NOT TRUST all delivery people!!! They promised me to contact them and solve the issue. I called and emailed to the delivery department but they did not do anything. We went there with same problem more then 5 times (BTW we lived about 40 min away from this store) and manager Sarah was very rude and unprofessional. For sure we did not deserve this kind of service and rudeness for giving them credit and paying damaged items. Really!!! From the beginning we were very patient with them until the end but they continued disappointing us. They did NOTHING!!!!! We could not use the bed about more than two months because were waiting their response. Because it is impossible to use it!!! But I was paying the cost. Nothing happened until May and I spent A LOTS of extra MONEY and EFFORT to buy the missing part and fix it!!!! I recently purchased a bed at Regency Furniture which I had to wait approximately 2 months for. When the bed was delivered and set up it was so high that I couldn't get on the bed easily (above my belly button - I'm 5/3). In fact I could touch my fan and ceiling from the bed. I requested that the store remedy this issue at no cost to me but they refused -- in none of their storerooms do they have a bed displayed this high. As a result they are charging me pick up / retrieval fee + 30% of the cost of a bed that was a few thousand dollars.
