The Sister Squad (that's what me and my two sisters call ourselves) stumbled on this place on our drive back from VA Beach because the birthday girl, ME, wanted authentic Italian spaghetti. We were greeted warmly by Tammy, who was a joy from the time we walked in until the time we left. Two of the Squad had spaghetti and one had a meatball sub. We were in awe when our LUNCH was delivered to the table, as they were the largest lunch portions imaginable! Not only were the portions large, the food...AMAZING, DELICIOUS, FANTASTICO! Tammy made sure we had plenty of fresh, homemade, warm Italian bread... DELIZIOSA! Needless to say, we had to take a large portion of our lunch home. Tammy kept our glasses full, engaged in conversation, and truly made the three of us feel welcomed. The Sister Squad is looking forward to visiting Regino's again and making it a "regular stop" on our adventures south. We have driven past this spot for years and finally decided to stop in. Well, Mister decided he needed a good meal after a tough day. Right off the bat, service was exceptional. Referred by a local fishing capt.travis for good italian food. The exterior is a converted pizza hut building. Upon entry greeted by very attractive women with great energy. We sat at the bar to get a better view of establishment and see kitchen perform, service, and overall flow of the restaurant. Multiple waitress and staff greeted us at the bar, while warm bread and butter arrived. Order angel hair pasta w/ spinach vodka sauce and my bro ordered eggplant parm w side of alfredo noodles & side salad. Food arrived fast with good bartender engagement. Regino's is set up like a lot of the Americanized italian joints out there. If you dig that stuff, I'd say Regino's tastes decent compared to some of the similar places I've been to. But we've definitely had better, more authentic italian food overall. Their portions however were enormous. I got the chicken cacciatore and it was massive. The single cacciatore would have easily fed 3 people. So we definitely had plenty of leftovers. The staff were super friendly but we ended up waiting for a really really long time for our food. So much so that the people who arrived much later than us ended up getting served first. For the food being okay, it wasn't really worth the wait. read more

Typically I don't eat at Italian restaurants because I have access to the best Nonna's home cooking and th best restaurants in RI, but I was getting on a plane and needed to make sure my kids had a good meal before 5 hours or travel. Boy was I happy to stop here! Very close to the airport and the food was . Endless warm bread and butter. Delicious salad and fresh made pasta. I ordered the fettuccine with pink vodka, chicken and spinach. It was delicious. I was glad people took the time to give this place good reviews because it's how I made my decision, so I just wanted to add to the positive reviews. If you want classics Italian comfort food, this is a great spot. And oh yea.. CHeAP! They had great prices!!! And big potion sizes! I recommend stopping your search here! Don't go. Poor service: waitress brought one of our two entrees, then didn't bring the second entree until 15 minutes later, and then didn't bring the pasta that went with it. Poor cooking: Seasoning on the eggplant parm was ok, but the tomato sauce on my pasta was indifferent, as was the lemon and garlic sauce on my wife's angel hair pasts. This restaurant is great! If you haven't eaten there yet, do yourself a favor. I went with a group of women and I trusted the Italian American woman who selected this location. The Yelp pictures were not very interesting to me so if it hadn't been for my friend's recommendation I might not have gone there. The outside is very unimpressive! The inside could definitely use a face lift. BUT the food is absolutely excellent, the service is impeccable and the prices are reasonable. Not only is the food super good the portions are huge!!! I'm not a big portion person but it totally justifies the price. Every one of the 9 persons in my group absolutely loved their dinner. Now, it is very difficult to completely please that many women. Everyone in the group was happily overwhelmed by the taste of the food and the size of the portions. Very simply - WE LOVED IT!!!!! I can't wait to go back!!!! This place is good!! We came for valentine's day and waited about 15-20 minutes for a table, not bad at all. The calamari was cooked perfectly, crispy but not overcooked. I ordered chicken parm with spaghetti and it came out amazing! I would've liked to taste a little crunch but with all that sauce i didn't. However, the cheese was crispy on the edges and overall a great dish. My husband had the 2 pork chops (fried) and they were HUGE!! On the way out, we got to see a fresh, pepperoni pizza & it looked delicious! The crust looked nice and fluffy, not too thick/thin and i can't wait to try that next time! read more

It's been several years since I wrote a review, but we have never stopped going here. There is NOTHING I love more than a locally owned place that makes everything fresh. And Regino's never disappoints. We supported them all through the pandemic shut down ordering takeout (which we had never done before from this restaurant), and they were on point the entire time. No loss of quality or service. That was highly appreciated! Since things have opened up we've eaten in several times to our delight, but tonight decided to order takeout again (didn't feel like going out). Once again Regino's delivered the awesomeness. We started with a tomato and mozzarella salad. They make their own Moz - need I say more? As always, full of flavor. It does come on a bed of romaine with black olives and peppers, none of which is needed. I did throw a little more balsamic on it at home, but nevertheless wonderful. I got the lasagna - OH my! Fresh made pasta, homemade sauce, sausage (that I am pretty positive they make in house) and that lovely tomato sauce. It was such a big portion (like all of their entrees are), that I am having the rest for lunch tomorrow. Hubby was in the mood for pizza, so we got a medium with extra cheese. As always yummy. This is not a textbook NY style, but that's ok. The crust is always amazing, cooked to perfection and the sauce is SO good! If you are in the area - GO here! I'm not a fan of franchise restaurants due to their tendency to seek consistency over quality. Reginos is exactly what I'm looking for... Great quality ingredients in a funky and unique setting with that personal touch you only get in a family run business. The pizza is amazing.. basically their dough/crust is what sets it apart from most establishments but the homemade sausage and New York style sauce launch their pie into the stratosphere. I'd go just for the pizza, but everything on the menu is delicious. I had the linguine with white clam sauce (which I use as a measure of all Italian restaurants) and it was just so good. took over an hour to be seated and get one single pizza with mozzerella sticks, i almost fell asleep and was about to just walk out. i didn't like that they won't provide the food rating unless you ask for it and then when you look on yelp you can see why. As soon as i ate the cheese sticks i immediately got a headache and felt like crap. come to find out they have an 88 food score, and one of those was for: standard not met: personal cleanliness and they don't even have plumbing so they're not washing their hands either. avoid at all costs if you value your health. definitely won't be coming back. read more

Service is good and prices are fair. Its a nice personable joint but needs an upgrade. Although the portions are huge, some of the dishes are a hit and miss. It's been few years since i've been here I'm sure I've left a review. I came here for the Veal gravy mashed potatoes and greek salad. I'm from the New York they area famous diner food italian restaurants. I don't not sure what happened but the veal patty could not call it a chop came straight from a freezer bag the gravy straight out of a can mashed potatoes no flavor salt. I received a call and voicemail from someone named Lillian. She said she was from "Regino's Italian Restaurant" - she found a phone and they would like to return it. Naturally I called back. I live in Los Angeles but my family live in the Virginia Beach area. Perhaps my mom left her phone and they dialed the last number called. A woman answered who could not have been more unpleasant. I told her about the voicemail and she replied "excuse me?" as if I had offended and insulted her. I repeated why I was calling - she proceeded to deny that anyone called me and acted as if I was a solicitor or prank call. I asked her name and she hung up. I checked the number because perhaps I was pranked, but the call 100% came from Regino's. They did not pick up when I called back. I don't know what kind of establishment this is, but the woman who answers the phone is beyond rude and could learn manners. I can't imagine how they treat customers who call in. A very odd experience altogether. read more

Indianapolis has some great Italian restaurants, but none are as good as Reginos. Ginny is my favorite server of all time, and Rowena makes a great Manhattan. I have passed this restaurant many times over the years. Decided to give it a try today and was pleasantly surprised. When you first walk in, you get the sense that this is a family owned place. It is very relaxed. That being said, the prices are a bit steep, but they make it worth the price. They don't try to go fancy with their food selection and that is a good thing. My manicotti was huge and tasty. My partners "small" chicken Alfredo was enjoyed by him. Overall, I am happy with my experience and plan to return to try their pizza. read more

I was a bit skeptical, but the portions were huge and the food was comforting. The bread was fresh and warm and my lasagna hit the spot. Is this the best Italian I've ever had? Of course not! But sometimes you just want something simple and straightforward with huge portions in a comfy cozy setting.
