Here for the vibes and for the sake of eating a big pizza slice; not here for a gourmet meal/quality pizza LOL. Came here because I was feeling nostalgic with Benny's but the pizza is still normal as usual - just needed to add sauce, oregano, pepper, to make it more tasty. Came out fast since it wasn't busy.

they make the slices so good but when you order a pie its so gross. think and 10 layers of cheese and they burn the shit out the dough

Got to love pizza. I'm a petite girl and this jumbo slice was legit two of my faces. The pizza slice was amazing and the crust was the right amount of crust. When you know, you know. Service was good. Inside was a quick order and go eat somewhere else or stand lol. It was that tiny but the pizza slice was with it!

Delicious Late Night Bite. Open passed midnight, large portions, great pricing, and right around the corner from many hotels. After driving 8+ hours and checking into my hotel late, I was looking food and the clerk recommended this place. Obviously, I took the suggestion. I was able to walk to the establishment in less than 10 minutes. Being one of the only places open passed midnight, it was a bit busy and only one worker was present. Decor gives hole in the wall. Not much room inside to dine in so many of the guests took their slices to-go. When I saw how large the slices were I realized one slice of pepperoni was gonna be plenty for me and I was not wrong. Finished the night with a satisfied tummy. If I was In town for couple more nights, I would've come back for another late night bite. Thanks to the hotel clerk for the clutch recommendation.

A bucket list item for all foodies! An awesome pizza eating experience that is one of kind with its huge slices, jumbo breadsticks, cheap prices, and unique locations. Super fun interior, quick service, and perfect lunch/dinner spot to have for a memorable experience. For this Benny's location, parking is the only downside. You'll most likely have to park in the parking garage which will only cost you a few extra steps. And after eating this, you'll need those extra steps. There is street parking but depending on day/time, it'll most likely be occupied.

Nothing super special about the restaurant itself! Your typical pizza place with a small area inside to sit down and eat. There is also some seating outside. It is in downtown, so parking could be a little inconvenient. But the pizza? Man oh man! The biggest slices I've ever seen in my life, and it was so good! 1 piece is like 3 regular pieces! They sell by the slice, and they also sell 28in whole pies. The cashier was your typical 20 something year old guy, so customer service was neither here nor there. But we were able to get our food super fast! Would definitely return for a quick slice or a pie for a large group! I saw some previous reviews done in the summer where folks complained about the heat. Currently it's about 60 outside, and the restaurant was comfortable. I'll have to take notes about how it feels depending on the next time I visit! There is one of those huge ovens in the front, so I wonder if that contributes to the heat factor especially in the warmer months!

I can't say enough great things about Benny Damato's! It is a small hole-in-the-wall in Downtown Norfolk with a small pizza and drink selection, however, the options are your typical go-to. Be advised, each slice is huge and absolutely phenomenal! Staff is friendly, and if you are looking for an interesting pizza, this place is a must-visit. Place is small, and you get lucky if you find seating (small area inside and outside), however, I highly recommend it to anyone in the area to stop by.

We were walking down the street and wondered where the great pizza shell came from. Looked on the map, this was the only pizza place nearby. Went in, that was the great smell. Got a slice each, they are huge. $5 for cheese $6 for pepperoni or sausage and one slice does you. By far the best pizza I've had lately. If I was local I'd make it a regular place. Put sunglasses in the pic for reference to size of the slice.

Pizzas big, service good, music bumping. Gotta love the place. 6 a slice scares some, but I'm getting pizza as big as my head

So we ordered the spicy pepperoni that many reviewers mentioned. Glad we did. When we arrived, we saw the front parking to be full. Fortunately, I looked at the Google Maps aerial view and saw the parking lot behind the pizzeria. We accessed the lot via an alleyway just past the pizzeria. The pizzeria is small. Has some seating but is more suited for takeaway orders. We got the pizza to go. When we opened the box, we were pleasantly surprised by how big the pizza was. Each of the six slices was about the size of some personal pizzas. The sauce & pepperonis were nice & spicy. The pizza was dotted with dabs of creamy ricotta cheese. Nice counterpoint to the spiciness. Fresh basil leaves added some flavour and looks. The crust was thin and delicious. Well worth the $22 price. We'll come back for the pizza whenever we're in Norfolk.

It also took an extremely long time to get my order, and I noticed several people receiving their food before I received mine. Personally, I'm not a big fan of runny pizza. That said, I did notice that the sauce tasted authentic, and the crust was light and crispy. The venue itself is very small, but they do offer outdoor seating, although it's uncovered. Sorry, no pictures this time.

In my opinion they offered an excellent wood fired pizza that rivaled what I've had in the area. My order of a Veggie, pepperoni and prosciutto & arugula was placed over the phone. The staff was awesome over the phone once I came back from hold. Just before Christmas they were very busy! The timetable was 20-25 minutes for pick up. I arrived about five minutes ahead. The woman who I talked with checked me out. You can tip on a card. Another gentleman said I was next up, then a few minutes later I got a push text "order ready". However, one of the pies was a bit overdone their standards. So they asked to remake it. The dining rooms had customers on a Tuesday before Christmas. The staff hustled! They offer beer and wine to in-house and take out. The replacement pizza was whipped out in around 5-7 minutes. They also included the other pie no charge. They apologized for the delay. Got the pies home to the family other delight trying a new place. The wood fired pizzas were a smash hit, especially the pepperoni. I personally thought the veggie was amazing. My wife liked the prosciutto the best! None were greasy, tasted cleaner than competitors. I would 100% recommend Sour.

My husband went inside, so I didn't get to see what it looks like in there, but it's seems to be in a good location and looks pretty roomy from the outside. The only thing I didn't like was the mix up about paying for the pizza. I paid online with my credit card, but when my husband went in, they handed him a receipt to sign, which doesn't usually happen when you've already paid online. My husband thought the pizza wasn't paid for, and mentioned it to me when he got back to the car. I had him go in and make sure they didn't charge us twice. The employee told him they do that for the tip portion of the receipt. I thought that was a bit disingenuous. My husband ended up putting the tip on the receipt and signing it, but I was a bit put off by all that. Why am I tipping you on carry out? You didn't serve me at a table. Elation Brewing has a huge indoor and outdoor area with plenty of different styles of seating! It is family and pet friendly, and they have fire pits for cooler days/nights. I love that the inside still has huge open windows to allow that fresh cross breeze in. They are known for their pizza, but they also have a variety of other things to eat on their menu. There is also a number of different beers, seltzers, IPAs, and wines to try. Tonight I had the White Cranberry Sangria from Water's Edge Winery (also in Norfolk) and the Downeast Black Cherry! While both were really good, I prefer the Downeast because it was sparkling and just more refreshing. We also had the bacon Gouda pizza and the Hive pizza with hot honey. Both were great! I had never had a hot honey pizza but would definitely get it again! Tonight was trivia night and they had a good size crowd come out. I like that you could actually hear the questions despite so many people. A lot of times I can barely hear! Also inside the same place is Voyager Coffee. They're only open 7-4. I would love to give them a try. Oh and Elation does offer military discount but only on their to-go beers! The ONLY reason I did not give Elation five star is because I wish they had actual servers. You have to go up to the counter to order each time, and the lines get pretty long. Being able to order from the table, even if from a QR code where you could order and pay online would be a plus. I went on a Sunday around 6:30pm. It wasn't crowded, but there was still a good crowd if that makes sense. It felt lively without being packed. Their drink selection is great. They have plenty of beer options, but also serve wine, seltzers, cider, and non alcoholic drinks, which I really appreciate since I'm not much of a beer person. I ordered the frozen rosé slushie in wild raspberry and it was strong. I also had the black cherry fruited cider, which was delicious. For food, I ordered The Hive pizza and it was excellent. The crust was thin-ish and tasted homemade, and the ingredients were clearly high quality. No complaints at all. Service was friendly and efficient, and the bathrooms were very clean. Random detail, but the toilet paper was noticeably better quality than what you usually find in bars. It was not plush, but strong and not paper thin. Overall, I loved the atmosphere, the food, the drinks, and the service. I will definitely be back.
