Smash burger w/ fries - So delicious!!!
Shayla B.

Strong and tasty cocktails, deliciously juicy burgers, and live Jazz music?! I'm ALWAYS in the "spirit" for that! Bring it oooonnn!! Oh Spirit Bar, where have you been all my life? Healdsburg has gotten another gem and this is it! Came here with my step sister after doing some wine tasting and we had a spectacular time. The Spirit Bar is nestled inside of the beautiful Hotel Healdsburg. It's got comfy booth seating and a warm fireplace inside and a gorgeous covered patio space where they often have live Jazz music. We made it just in time for happy hour and enjoyed some live music while indulging in some delicious booze and grub. Speaking of booze; they've got the goods here! The cocktails are on point and stroooong. I had "A Cocktail for Carl" and my sis had the CP Negroni. Both drinks were fabulous! My drink was spicy, crisp, and refreshing. They've got an awesome happy hour here too with some great discounts on drinks and snacks. We decided to split the Smash Burger since we had been snacking all day at the wineries. Best devious that we could have made! The Smash Burger had a lean, thick, and juicy patty that was stacked up for the Gawds. A nice grilled bun with thick slices of crispy bacon and a nice load of fresh veggies. Everything that you'd want in a delicious burger. And it was damn good too. The shoe string fries were perfectly crispy! I loved dipping them in the aioli sauce that brought us in addition to the ketchup. We later shared a strawberry shortcake for dessert and it nearly melted in my mouth. So soft and creamy. We both loved it. The live music was fun and entertaining. We were seated outside and didn't realize how quickly it gets cold when the sun goes down. Unfortunately, they didn't have any heat lamps out on their patio. Make sure to bring a sweater if you get cold. The bartenders and the outside servers were all really nice and attentive. It got a bit busy during the Jazz show, but they did their best to accommodate everyone and I appreciated that. Such a fun night! I'm excited to come back for more yummy cocktails and live music again real soon.

Jason is awesome, he always makes my daughter and I feel welcome. We regularly eat the clam chowder "a la minute" together with the freshly baked focaccia bread. Highly recommend you try it yourself! Oh and he makes a a decent cocktail too

Saturday nights: free live jazz music. Drinks menu is abbreviated but has classic concoctions. My Moscow mule was delicious. Reasonable price food menu. My steak & frites, $24, was satisfying. The French fries were crispy and flavorful without being too salty. The steak had lots of flavor. Meat was soothingly tender. Room was not crowded. Noise level low enough to hear the trio of musicians. Good place to spend a mellow early evening.

I'm reluctantly letting you all in on a secret: Spirit Bar is one of our favorite spots in Healdsburg! When everywhere else is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays, Spirit Bar, in the Hotel Healdsburg lobby, is quietly open. Happy Hour is available daily from 5:30-7:00pm. The bites menu is limited but you can't go wrong. We opted for Market Vegetable Salads and Smash Burgers with bacon and cheese - the lettuce, tomato, red onion, animal sauce and ketchup were served on the side. The semi-deconstructed presentation is a win and let us control the sauces. The fries were crispy and SALTY, and we loved every last lick! We enjoy their list of local wines (Hello Zichichi Zin!) but the best drink in my humble opinion is A Cocktail for Carl! Live music is played on the weekends and seats are in high demand! So the next time you're in town and you can't find a place to eat or drink, have a seat at the Spirit Bar bar or by the fireplace or at one of the other cozy tables. Relax and enjoy!

2nd time around 8oz burger and fries.

Ambience, craft cocktails, music, happy hour, excellent service and food, wait, more on the food below. We parked on a busy Saturday in Healdsburg. All I wanted was to hear live Jazz @ruthahlers and not excess chattering and I found it. We were graciously welcomed with a door opening from a manager. We entered the bar and since it was an unusual cool evening I was glad the band was indoors. We sat down, perused the menu and ordered our drinks from the happy hour menu, a dirty martini that was smooth, a well balanced vodka ratio. The other drink was a gin & tonic the gin was from @Griffodistillery in Petaluma another winning combo. Kudos to the bartender a true mixologist, they know how to make a tasty & well balanced drink. Now for the food. We decided to order a burger, something to keep the alcohol in check. They don't mess around with portions. It's described as 8oz of beef, now according to my calculations that's 1/2 pound. We decided to share the burger. It came with perfectly, thin sliced fries, I liked that they weren't overly salted and condiment to add as you pleased. The waitress brought us a knife & extra plate. As we slice into the plump, visually perfect, charred burger, it was raw inside. Now it's pretty dark in the bar, but we could see this bright red meat, we even turned the phone camera on it. This is totally unacceptable and dangerous, if we didn't slice this burger in half we would have chomped down on it. I don't know how this could come out of the @drycreekkitchen. They need to put/buy/use a thermometer into those burgers and cook til 160 degrees. We returned it and asked for a cooked burger, waitress obliged, we kept the fries to munch on. We didn't get our new burger for over 25 minutes by then we were hungry so I decided to order the burrata plate. She took the order then came back to say it was sold out. 5 minutes later the perfectly cooked burger came out and it could be eaten. The music and ambience was so nice it was a good distraction from the burger fiasco. We filled our belly with cooked burger and drink. I decided to satisfy my sweet tooth and order dessert, the olive oil cake. Waitress took the order and again it was sold out so I went with the Lemon bar recommendation. It was a sliver of bar but nicely presented. In summary, it's a beautiful lounge bar, superb drinks, service and the music is a bonus. Food selection is very limited, though they are open during the dining hours. I think they should reimagine the food menu for the bar. Small bites, for those that want to stay and enjoy the music or pre-dinner pit stop. Make good use of that kitchen.

Jason is a beautiful human who makes beautiful drinks. Whether it's a slow Wednesday night, or a packed Saturday for jazz, you can feel confident knowing you'll get great service and an even better drink.

I love this place for outdoor live music and delicious drinks! The staff is super professional, and friendly without hovering-they seem genuine. I'm only giving 4 stars since they don't offer much for vegan folks-we get fries or tater tots. To be fair, it is a bar, not a full restaurant, but hummus, carrots, chips and olives could be added. I just eat before I go so that I can enjoy the stunning outdoor environment and live jazz. It's really lovely - recommend!

First off, they were so welcoming when we checked in. And I love that it's so pet friendly. Hostess that checked us in was a doll. The inside decor and the layout was so cute. One side is the hostess counter and right across from there is a waiting lounge area which I believe is also utilized for dining. Walking through, they have indoor seating to one side and the bar area to the opposite. Also dining available along the hi top bar counter. We had a big group which they had us set up on the patio. Another beautiful layout. It's like dining in a community garden slash secret garden. Our waitress who took care of us was amazing. So sweet and very friendly. Not just her but the entire staff there. Menu wise looked amazing. Also it was also a recommendation from one of the staff at a winery we were just at. Drink menu was quite huge too. Of course food was on our mind and it did not disappoint. Big group meant a lot of share plates to start off. A double of things ordered to start off. Daily crudo which was served with wonton chips. Fresh fish with all spices and marinaded. It was fresh and delicious. You gotta have oysters if it's available. Curry deviled eggs was quite tasty as well. Your classic eggs with a little twist. Mushroom egg rolls were a hit. It literally came piping hot so it was a little wait till we enjoy it and it was delicious. Came with two dipping sauce which paired very well. Salsa macha fries, similar concept as the elote corn with the coltija cheese, lime creme and cilantro. Brisket can also be added which we opted out for. Then there was the grilled Vietnamese steak with the not so sticky rice in a cube form. Cooked perfectly and the crunchiness of the rice was perfect. Also the dipping sauce was great. Beef brisket tacos were another hit. Two orders and loaded with meat and all the topping. Very flavorful and delicious. Cant come here and not have their almost famous chicken tenders. Big chunks of chicken battered and fried to a nice golden color. It was so juicy and served with pickle chips and dipping. You can have it hot or now with the sauce. Crispy duck confit was delicious. Nice potion of duck with bitter greens and duck fat potatoes. Brazen burger, which was pretty massive. Classic burger but better and with bacon and fries. Then you have the kimchi noodles, added chicken and shrimp or without. That dish was tasty. You either love kimchi or not and the way it was prepared with pasta, delicious. And lastly, the special was a hot ham sandwich I believe. Served with potatoes salad and gherkins. It was a hefty sandwich with loads of meat and cheese. Simply but so good. Food was excellent as we literally had loads from the menu. Of course loads of recommendations which I know why. The food was exceptional and service was great. Restaurant is beautiful and service was excellent. Also they're so pet friendly. Plus, we ordered a dog patty for the pup and it was quite tasty...lol.... Can't wait to come back, hopefully soon. Not sure if menu if set or it changes seasonally. Regardless, whoever is in charge of menu, chefs kiss.

THE PATIO: Nicely shaded with mesh sail cloth, so no risk of sunburn and you won't need your sunglasses. Spacious seating. THE DRINKS: probably why "Bar" comes before "Kitchen" in the name - Gintonica - made with the bar's "featured gin" of the week (or maybe month, or until it's gone). Refreshing -- like it's supposed to be - Love Bizarre - The name certainly is. This mezcal-based cocktail with cucumber, mint, shiso and adornments is great for a summer eve. - Misspent Youth - another gin-based cocktail, but with a sweeter tilt offered up by the addition of galiano, pineapple, and coconut - think Hawaii sans rum. THE FOOD: a little hit or miss for us; maybe explore more of the menu next time - Griddled Crab Cakes* - were mushy and almost tartar-like, and the ham hock flavor overpowered the crab. Won't re-order - Mezze Plate - Best plate of the bunch; flavorful and spicy. Would do this one again - Beef Brisket Tacos* - Too salty and the brisket was tough and stringy. Fuggedaboutit. * like most of the offerings, plates were served up as two per order THE SERVICE: Great start, luke-warm finish Polite and friendly greeting at the door and seating by the hostess. 5 Stars. The server seemed like more of a canned act. Polite, but not too much in the welcoming category. Seemed a bit in a hurry. We've had worse experiences, but I was hoping for something more than functional. 2 1/2 stars for that. Better luck next time.

Yet, my family decided to stay and it was a wonderful decision. Everything was very well-made and incredible quality! I would HIGHLY recommend getting the prime rib Thursday deal. It came with the prime rib, potatoes, salad, and the dessert for $75. I believe that the Bananas Foster was one of the best desserts I've ever had. I will be dreaming about it. The ambiance was wonderful with the live jazz, and the staff did an excellent job of taking care of us!

The prices for what you get is ridiculous, and the atmosphere is rustic and western. You would think this was Steak 48 or Mastros looking at the reviews and seeing the prices. They could learn a lot from them. My husband had the ribeye ($95) that was over cooked and burnt tasting. My salmon ($58) was dry and the flavor (tasted pre frozen, not fresh) was lacking. The "wedge salad-".. the menu states "wedge salad" ($26) was very sparse and made with little gem lettuce (5 whole leaves), the summer melon salad ($24) was watermelon cubes with 4 cherry tomato halves with a tiny bit of basil chiffonade with topped with some inexpensive balsamic vinegar. My I had a cosmopolitan which was good, however the waiter suggested my husband try a margarita (found the price was $28.00 when the bill arrived!) . The waiter gave us a lesson in ordering steak. When my husband asked for medium rare plus, he said there is no such thing. He boasted about being a server for 10 years and that there's no such thing. He said it's an insult to the chef. Well we've been to many restaurants and many upscale Michelin restaurants and no one has ever corrected us in how we order our steak temperature. But thanks for your sage advise! I would not recommend this restaurant unless you aren't that interested in quality food. ****In response to you reply Jason, I was genuinely surprised by your response. I have always believed that when writing reviews--whether positive or negative--there is an obligation to be honest, fair, and respectful. Suggesting that my review was "malicious" is both inaccurate and disappointing, as that is simply not my nature. You stopped by our table before we had even eaten our meal, so there was no opportunity at that point to comment on the food itself. Unfortunately, our experience did not reflect the level of quality or value we expected. Spending $333.67 for a mediocre steak, salmon that did not taste fresh and was poorly seasoned, a few pieces of watermelon and cherry tomatoes, and an unusual five-leaf "wedge salad," along with two drinks, fell well short of what one would expect from a restaurant with San Francisco fine steakhouse pricing. Rather than responding defensively to constructive criticism, I would have hoped for a more thoughtful and professional reply. As business owners ourselves, we understand that not every customer will leave satisfied. We view honest feedback as an opportunity to evaluate our business, improve where necessary, and educate our staff--not as a personal attack. My review was never intended to be malicious. It was simply an honest account of our experience. I hope you will choose to view it as constructive feedback rather than dismissing it outright. I wish you and your team the very best.
