The man who answered the phone (his name starts with an A) kept telling me that he was checking the insurance but had yet to call me back. I followed up with him three weeks later, and he said oh, I remember and will call me back and now it's been an additional two weeks. I will not attend them because they have already shown they are unprofessional. It is sad because if this is a good place, the first impression is the worst, and we will never know. Please clean up your staff, or you will continue to lose business and get bad reviews.

I had high hopes for this facility after reading positive reviews. My father, who has dementia, was sent to King David for rehabilitation. When he arrived, he was not walking, and unfortunately, when he left, he still could not walk and was in worse condition than when he initially arrived. After his stay, he could barely speak, had lost over 20 pounds, was severely dehydrated, and appeared emotionally and physically broken. Because of his dementia, my father was entirely reliant on the medical staff for his meals, fluids, and general care. He could not feed himself or communicate when something was wrong, as he was not speaking. This made it even more critical that the staff provide attentive and timely care. The most painful memory I will always carry is the day we visited him and found him in the worst condition I had ever seen. He looked extremely weak, frail, and ill. His blood sugar was 475, and despite how alarming that was, we did not see a sense of urgency from the staff at that time. As a family, we were deeply concerned for his safety. During our visit, I noticed what I initially thought might be blood in my father's mouth. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be dried food stuck on his tooth. I am not sure how many hours or days it had been there, but it was alarming and prompted me to insist that the ER doctor examine his mouth. Upon checking, the ER doctor discovered and removed food from his mouth, which I personally witnessed. I have photos of this, which I am attaching to this review for context. In my attempts to transfer my father from King David to another facility, I found the social work team and nursing supervisors largely unhelpful. The social work team essentially expected me to handle much of the process myself. Three photos are attached for context: one showing my father before entering King David, one from the day he was taken to the emergency room, and one from the hospital while an ER physician was removing food from his mouth that was left by a medical personnel at King David. Seeing these images side by side reflects the drastic decline in his condition during this period. I will always regret placing my father in King David's care. But I share this so that others can make informed decisions. No family should ever have to experience what we did. Rehabilitation is meant to help people heal and regain strength. In my experience, my father's condition declined during his stay. Our elderly deserve dignity, careful attention, and compassion. Families deserve transparency. I hope this encourages meaningful improvements in how patients are cared for.

Of course I still have a long way to go and more sessions with Dr. Dan but I felt inclined to express how wonderful I feel so far especially after each session. My shoulder and arm doesn't hurt as much now when I sleep and the tightness around my neck is less. I definitely recommend Dr. Dan if you need PT. He has a glowing personality and he loves to joke and sing which I think is a great distraction for the pain, especially when he is about to adjust the mobility of my arm. Best of all, Dr. Dan can speak Vietnamese and Cantonese so if you feel more comfortable speaking in those languages, he can accommodate. As for the clinic, I love the location and the staff here. They are efficient and friendly. The clinic is located in the basement of a residential house but it seems to have all the equipment you'll need for your recovery.
