For the past four plus years, Yuriy has been an extraordinary part of my journey through three major surgeries, countless months of rehabilitation, setbacks, uncertainty, frustration, and, ultimately, an outcome I once wondered if I would ever achieve: I am walking independently again and getting my life back!!! My journey was anything but straightforward. My first surgery was unfortunately not successful, and took multiple consultations to finally understand something was seriously wrong. The problem was so complicated surgeon after surgeon essentially told me they would not attempt to correct it because of the potential damage to my body to fix it. During all the uncertainty, Yuriy was there and he never gave up. Yuriy brought an extraordinary combination of knowledge, experience, patience, kindness, professionalism, compassion, and hands-on care to every single session. He paid attention, listened and watched my progress--or, at times, my lack of progress--and he cared deeply about understanding why I wasn't getting better. There were certainly moments when Yuriy became frustrated but his frustration was never with me. It was with the fact he could see something wasn't right, and he couldn't figure out what was preventing me from progressing. He cared even when the answer wasn't immediately apparent. There were many times over those years I cried. Yuriy always managed to stay strong even when I was overwhelmed, discouraged, or simply exhausted from the long road. But there were also a few very special moments when I saw his own eyes had welled up with tears. Those moments have stayed with me because they showed me just how deeply he cared. He wasn't simply watching a patient struggle--he was emotionally invested in helping a person find her way back. Eventually, after seeing multiple highly regarded surgeons at top NY hospitals, I finally found a courageous surgeon at HSS willing to take on the enormous challenge of correcting what had gone wrong. I underwent additional major surgeries, each followed by many months of PT. And through all of it, Yuriy was there. He adjusted... adapted... encouraged and challenged me when I needed to be and celebrated the smallest victories along the way. One of the things which makes Yuriy even more remarkable to me is he is a husband and proud father of three, and yet somehow he still brings an extraordinary amount of energy, patience, and genuine compassion to his work every day. I have had the privilege of watching him interact with other patients and it is clear the care he has shown me is not something he reserves for one. He cares deeply about all his patients. I would be remiss if I didn't recognize the INCREDIBLE team surrounding Yuriy. From the welcoming front-desk reception, to the Physical Therapist Assistants, and students completing their internships, every single person I have encountered has contributed to making this a place where patients feel cared for, respected, encouraged, and genuinely welcomed. I have watched them work together as a true team, and their kindness, patience, professionalism, and willingness to help never went unnoticed by me. It takes a special kind of environment to make a patient feel comfortable through such a long and difficult recovery, and this entire staff has created exactly that. During that visit, Melinda Keller reviewed my intake forms and sent me for three X-rays before continuing the consultation. I was required to pay $125.00 for the X-rays that day. After reviewing the results, I was presented with an approximately $7,000 out-of-pocket treatment plan. When I asked how my progress would be measured and what specific improvements I should expect, I left feeling that my questions had not been clearly answered. The office also felt very high-volume, with one assistant caring for numerous patients, on different machines at the same time. Having previously worked for a chiropractor, I left feeling that the experience was more focused on selling a treatment plan than on individualized care. After my visit, I posted a Google review describing my experience. Shortly afterward, Melinda Keller personally called me and asked me to return to the office. During my second visit, much of our conversation centered on my review and the effect it could have on her business. She then offered several spinal decompression treatments at no charge so I could determine whether they would help. I agreed. On May 11, 2026, the assistant positioned me on the spinal decompression table and started the treatment. According to the manufacturer's safety instructions for the decompression table, patients should be provided with a handheld emergency stop button before treatment. I was not given one. I was also left alone in the treatment room -- on a machine that requires close monitoring while strapped into a high-tension mechanized machine - which, according to the manufacturer's instructions, was not consistent with the recommended safety procedures. During the treatment, the table unexpectedly began pulling and jerking one side of my body downwards with tremendous force. I do not know whether the machine malfunctioned or whether incorrect settings were used. What I do know is that I repeatedly called out "Hello!" twice because I needed help, and no one came into the room. The force was so sudden and violent that it is one of the most frightening experiences I have ever had. Eventually, the machine stopped on its own, and I remained lying there frozen in shock, watching the timer count down to zero. When the assistant returned to unstrap me, I mentioned the machine acting erratically, but she offered no explanation - not even a raised eyebrow - just an awkward silence. Afterward, because I already knew something had gone wrong and was concerned about the pain I was beginning to experience, I agreed to a cold laser treatment in the hope that it might reduce inflammation and help minimize any injury. As someone who has worked extensively with medical lasers in my own profession, that seemed like a reasonable decision at the time. Before the cold laser treatment began, the assistant immediately handed me an emergency shut-off button and instructed me to use it if the treatment became too warm. That moment has stayed with me ever since. I had just completed a treatment on a motorized decompression table while alone and without an emergency stop button, yet I was promptly given one for a laser treatment where I could have simply sat up if I became uncomfortable. Approximately a week later, I emailed Melinda Keller explaining that I continued to experience significant pain and specifically asked what machine settings had been used during my decompression treatment. Instead of answering my question, or calling me to discuss what had happened, I simply received copies of my intake paperwork and X-rays. I never received the information I requested or any meaningful follow-up regarding the incident or my how I was feeling. I am currently undergoing medical evaluation. Until that process is complete, I cannot say exactly what injuries I may have sustained. I can say that I continue to experience pain that began immediately after this treatment. Pain that I didn't have before the treatment experience. This review reflects only my personal experience. Based on what happened to me, I cannot recommend Brooklyn Spine Center.

While most of them were quite good, my experience with Brooklyn Health (mostly Mike and Matt, but also Michele) was exceptional. The initial evaluation was the most thorough I have ever had, and the exercises they gave me were different and far more effective than anything I have had before. They explained what each exercise was intended to do, and then made sure that I was doing each one correctly for maximum benefit. They dealt with my insurance company multiple times. The facility is clean and well-equipped. The office staff was friendly and helpful. I "graduated", feeling very confident that I have improved more than ever, and they gave me a home program, complete with videos, to keep me in good shape.

Teddy, the owner and head PT, said I would improve and I wouldn't need any cortisone injections. He was right. Millennium has given me my life back. I was uncertain of prolotherapy but had been recommended it for my hypermobility by a rehab specialist I'd started seeing who had seem Dr. Likver for her own hypermobility-related issues. She assured me that she'd seen great results, and had sent many patients to Dr. Likver since. And she was right. The intake process was incredibly thorough, and while progress has not been linear and the path has not been easy, I've now gone through about 10 rounds of injections to great results. My case was pretty extreme, so I do not exaggerate when I say the treatments have been life-changing. My pain has gone down drastically, when I am in pain I recover quicker, and the prolotherapy has allowed me to resume my life again after years of coping or missing out on important things because of my body's meltdown. Dr. Likver has been a great practitioner, and I know that from having seen so many specialists all over the profession. This is my second time in physical therapy (for different reasons) and I came back to Optimum because of my incredibly positive experience the last time (2 years ago). I'm shocked I didn't write a review back then! Im here to get treatment on my back after having a baby. Being pregnant took a toll on my body and an MRI revealed 2 herniated discs. So far all my sessions begin with a few minutes on a stim machine, with a hot compress. After that, my therapist will do manual work/massge therapy on my back (my favorite part!) and at the end she will guide me through exercises. I really love that they don't just give me a piece of paper, direct me toward a machine, & let me do the exercise on my own (lots of PT practices do exactly that) but rather my PT is right there with me, guiding me through the exercises and making sure my form and position are correct. They also have a really need portal you can log into where your therapist sends you an exercise program for you to do at home. That portal offers a shirt description.of each exercise, including a 'how to' video and there's even a space for you to send notes to your therapist. When you complete an exercise you get "points". It's super motivating for me and gameifying homework is always a plus. Outside of that the office is always clean & presentable. The staff is very friendly (entire staff from reception to interns to PTs) and professional. I've seen a few of the PTs here and they're all amazing. This is a really special place and I actually looking forward to my sessions! Kinda weird to write such a detailed review of a PT office but I love them that much and I'm slowly feeling and getting better and better so I had to give them props and show some love.
