Is it odd that my husband and I miss taking our baby to physical therapy? Our baby had right sided torticollis and we were nervous to take her to physical therapy because we wanted someone good, who knew what they were doing and who also worked with newborns (not many places fit that criteria). Our first visit was intimidating... baby cried the entire 20 minute session and it felt like a nightmare. We were instructed to keep our baby on tummy time as often as possible which was not an easy task with a 5 month old who absolutely hated it. We were also told that the more tummy time she does, the quicker we would finish with her treatment. So that's exactly what we did! We kept our little one on tummy at home as often as possible and we were consistent with our appointments to physical therapy. Yes, the baby cried most of the time but her muscles were becoming so much stronger! It was incredible to see how quickly she went from hating tummy time to loving it! Even though the location of this place was not close to home, even with the baby sometimes crying entire 20 minute sessions, we are SO SO happy with the results. The people at the front desk are friendly and always helped us with anything we needed, and Dr. Kopolovitch is great. Just some advice for parents: play a video from your phone for your baby as a distraction during the duration of the session, it works! Especially Benny Friedman videos! read more

I've had a wonderful experience at Therapy In Motion. From the moment you walk in, it's clear that this practice truly cares about their patients and their recovery. My physical therapist, Dr. Dan, is excellent. He is an incredibly skilled manual therapist who works very hard to help his patients heal and regain mobility. I am recovering from surgery for a tibial plateau fracture, and while some of the therapy techniques can be painful, he always keeps the mood light and makes his patients laugh to help distract from the discomfort. His encouragement, dedication, and sense of humor make a huge difference during tough sessions. The owner, Dr. Abe, also deserves recognition. Even though he is not my treating therapist, he regularly checks in with me to ask how I'm doing and how my progress is going. That level of attention really shows how much they care about each patient. Their slogan, "We treat the patient, not the insurance company," is something they truly live by. The entire team--from the therapists to all of the assistants--is kind, professional, and wonderful to work with. They create a supportive and welcoming environment that makes recovery feel a little easier. Dr. Abe Kopolovich treated my son for eight years, several times a week. We had previously seen several physical therapists as my son had become paraplegic from a spinal cord injury. The others all had one thing in common, they provided no individual treatment plan but carried out the same old series of exercises on most of their patients. Take it from this concerned mother, there is no one, nowhere as good as Dr. Abe. Not only is he the best therapist around but his compassion and concern are so personal you could never have this experience anywhere else. For each new client that enters his practice, he asks the question: What plan should be developed to ensure the greatest outcome for this individual. There are no, one size fits all at Dr. Abe's. Every patient is treated as the individual they are. He is constantly upgrading and expanding the equipment available to his clients and he and his staff regularly attend seminars and classes to continuously increase their knowledge. I have never recommended any medical professional to any one before. I am compelled to do this now as I believe anyone seeking the help of a physical therapist deserves the best. You cannot put yourself in better hands than Dr. Abe. read more

Dr. Abe and his staff are absolutely the best!! I was completely bummed when my baby was diagnosed with torticollis and plagiocephaly at 3 months. I was told to follow up with early intervention or PT. I did thorough research and Dr. Abe was one of the top PTs in our area. I decided to give them a chance and I can honestly say I am completely satisfied with the results. My daughter has gained full range of motion in her neck and her flat spot has been noticeably rounding out. Dr. Abe gives great tips/advice on stretches to do at home and truly cares for all of his patients. He answered all of my "worried mom" questions and gave me his personal email address and told me to email him anytime if I had any more questions. His staff were always kind and efficient. Due to spinal stenosis and carpal tunnel syndrome, I had to find a place for both physical therapy and occupational therapy. When I go to the supermarket on 8th Avenue, I usually go past a location called Therapy-In-Motion, so I called them about physical therapy. On my first appointment for physical therapy, I was evaluated, and was told they also have an occupational therapist on staff. So, after I was finished with the physical therapy, occupational therapy was able to begin. The therapists were very helpful at handling my physical complaints, and ample time was devoted to treatment and exercises. Dr. Dan and Alex have been amazing from the time I have met them both. Dr. Dan knew all 3 fractures areas without me letting him know, he did manipulations and knew the areas. He also noticed a curvature in my upper back from sitting behind a computer all day, and has been correct in the area as well. I have recommended him to many family and friends within a week. Dr. Dan has also been working on my son's posture. In 2 weeks I've noticed a difference. He is feel taller and have no neck pain. The most important trait in Therapy In Motion is that they review your records & listen to your real pain complaints. Mines are from a NYC Job Slip & Fall during COVID 19 pandemic. I was ordered to work when the city shut down & all city employees had to stay home for safety. It has changed my life in the worst drastically. Dr. Abe is amazing, knowledgeable and an expertise in his field. I researched extensively to find a PT that specializes in torticollis for my 8 week old son. He was very gentle during my son's PT sessions especially when our son started to cry. We saw improvements after 3-4 weeks and my son has more movement in his neck and enjoys tummy time now. A big plus that he has an ultrasound machine in his office so we can see the knot in our son's neck. His office staff were very nice as well. Making appointments was a breeze. I honestly can't thank Dr. Dan enough. I came in with a really bad neck issue that had been bothering me for a while, and I was shocked at how much better I felt after just the first visit. This is a world class physical therapy operation. Dr K and his staff tended to my 15 year old son after he fractured his wrist. Knowing that he is on his school basketball team gearing up for playoffs, the staff gave him NBA professional style treatment and worked diligently with all different types of therapies and exercises to help fully recover and come back stronger. Dr Daniel Ha experienced and seasoned physical Therapist is the head of the physical therapy dept located in the lower floor of the building. He brings a new burst of flavor to the establishment along with associate Dr Abe. In my personal experience I've been to PT's for various parts of my body. Most I found to be not efficient in treating my injuries. Dr Dan has changed that in my life. He's involved in his career as well as his patients.
