Condiments on the table -- Yay!
    Kellie D.

Stopped in here on a Friday evening as we were traveling across the state and the place was almost empty. We were told to sit wherever we wanted so we picked a fun emerald green booth for two. Our waitress, Ramsey, was sweet and attentive. We both ordered breakfast-- omelettes. I was thrilled that they came with both hash browns and grits. Both were perfection as was my veggie omelette. Loved that all the condiments were on the table. Nice fuel before a long trail race the next day. Prices were so reasonable and service was impeccable. Highly recommend this diner.

What more can I say but the food is outstanding, the service is excellent, and the staff focuses on keeping the dining clean. And even with a crowd, you can have conversations without yelling.

Some of the locals referred this spot to us and I must say they did not disappoint! When we drove up we were a little skeptical but it was worth a the try. The staff was friendly, we went during a weekday morning so it was empty however it did start to get a little crowded when we were leaving. We ordered the short stack (which was just enough) and the meat lovers omelette. I enjoyed the short stack it had a great taste and the meat lovers omelette was great as well. It had bacon, sausage and ham. It also came with grits and some potatoes. We definitely enjoyed it and can't wait to visit again to go back.

Carolina diner never disappoints. A classic diner with an endless menu. I am always shocked with consistent excellent customer service. The staff takes pride in making you feel welcome. Although not the healthiest option, the food is always fresh, hot and delicious. If you need a go to on a regular basis, give them a try.

This is an old fashioned, greasy spoon diner, not far from the Greensboro airport. It's a little off the beaten track, but worth the adventure. It js one of five in the area sharing the name and the menu. They serve breakfast, and lunch, with some daily specials. We arrived Sunday morning around 11:30am and had to wait about 30 minutes for a table. I had to circle the parking lot twice to fond a parking place. Four of us were seated in a booth on the sunny side of the building. It was a hot spot. The manager tried to fix it, but to no avail. Our server showed up in a timely fashion and took drink orders quickly. She returned quickly to take food orders. The place was slammed, and servers were jumping. Manager was delivering food. So, what about the food? I ordered the Pizza Smash Burger and fries. The burger was delicious - a large, smash burger topped with a meaty pizza sauce and mozzarella cheese. The bun was soft and fresh. The patty was flavorful and well cooked. While a bit sloppy, this was a good burger. Ended up using a fork. The fries were hot and crispy. Carolyn and Andy ordered biscuits with sausage gravy with cheesy scrambled eggs and grits. They were pleased and enjoyed their breakfast. Gerald ordered the pork chop breakfast. Came with scrambled eggs, a biscuit with gravy, and grits. Grits were good. Average price was around $11 a person, plus beverage. Service was fast. Kept beverages filled. Other than being a touch warm on our side of the dining room, we enjoyed out visit, and recommend Carolina's Diner, 506 South Regional Road, Greensboro, for a hardy breakfast or lunch.

One of my favorite diners in the triad. You may have to wait for a seat but the service is great and the food is consistently delicious. From breakfast to burgers to pork chops, they get it right. Ordered the country breakfast with 50/50 meat and cheesy scrambled eggs. Sausage gravy was just right!

I stopped in after work with my son. Our kind waitress greeted us right away. The menu has a variety of choices and you guessed it, breakfast all day. The choices are all good. I've been eating here for years. The hash browns are so good. The bacon is cooked to crispy perfection. I ordered my hot dog all the way (chili, slaw, mustard, ketchup, onions) with fries. The crinkle fries were just how I like them. My son ate everything. He was so happy with his meal. Our waitress visited our table often. She was so helpful and friendly to all of the tables. The prices are good. It was clean. Love this place. If you are driving down I-40 and need a place to eat. Stop in this hidden treasure.

Great little friendly place to grab something quick and delicious. You're greeted as you come in with a warm welcome and lots of smiles. Your food order comes out fresh and hot. The menu is kid friendly. Plenty of roomy seats

Needed a little sustenance before heading to the Farmers Market yesterday. Carolina's Diner did not disappoint. Great service, great fried pork tenderloin with white gravy, mashed potatoes, fried squash and for my third vegetable choice...banana pudding. Yummy!

THIS IS THE BEST PLACE EVER! We had an amazing time, and my child with a fish allergy could eat there, they had amazing service, and very friendly staff. It was like a better version of Zaxby's (per my child) and she said the waffle was beyond the flavor and quality level of Disney World. The server Brie is fast and courteous. We will be back.

It's a diner, out dated decor in an old building with cooks slinging out home style food for low prices. We ordered two skillets, a sausage skillet and meat skillet and added gravy. They were good, the portions are hearty and the coffee is hot. The restaurant was busy and loud. A kid spilled his drink all over the floor. I saw a dead fly. I think there was a "working gal" walking in front of the Motel 6. I like the Archdale location better. As crazy as this sounds, I am still giving it 4 stars, the skillets were tasty and the waitress was nice.

Carolina's is a great place for breakfast. I arrived at 7:45 AM on a Saturday morning and there were no booths available (only counter service). That's a good sign . I was greeted promptly and asked how many would be in my party. I waited a couple of minutes for a booth to open up. The server was right there and brought my beverage. The menu has a lot of choices but I chose to go with one of my favorites, a western omelette. It came with grits (just about everything does) and I elected to have toast and hash browns. Everything was done perfectly. The food was delivered promptly. My friend had the corned beef hash skillet. They forgot to add the hash and brought it separately. He said the cooks were looking at him to see if he'd be ok with that. He enjoyed his breakfast. This is a great place to go for breakfast. They're open 24 hours and offer non-breakfast items. Based on how breakfast was, other meals are definitely worth trying!

It was ok, but from the reviews, I was expecting top end diner food. Got an omelette and it was a bit overdone.

It was also a chance to catch up with Ron and Victoria who I have not had a chance to see for a while. They recommended Jake's Diner downtown, a couple of blocks down from Victoria's studio. Sounded like a plan to me, so I hopped in my car and headed to meet them down on South Elm Street. I am glad we went because there were not many people in the restaurant at all and by the time we left after lunch we were the only ones. I know they appreciated the business, We were promptly seated and the waitress was very helpful and provided excellent service Ron went with breakfast and had eggs and waffles and bacon and Victoria went with a lunch themed hamburger and onion rings. I decided to go Victoria's route and ordered a a hamburger with blue cheese and an order of fries with a diet Coke. Everything came promptly and was tasty. I must say, considering how expensive things are today, I found their prices to be pretty moderate. Plenty of refills on coffee and diet Coke without even having to ask. I liked that! The food was good, the company was wonderful and it's nice to have a breakfast/lunch spot like that downtown. I hope I caught Jake's Diner at an odd time and a pre storm panic because they certainly deserve patrons and to stay alive in downtown Greensboro. They offered us a nice meal at a good price. I even found parking right around the corner! Check them out!!

I watched you cater to 3 other tables and pretty much ignore us. To be fair, I've eaten at Jake's on Wendover a few times. I knew the type of food. It's always been excellent. We arrive. The white lady with the high pony tail says "sit anywhere that's clean. Cool. Didn't get her name. I will call her P. All the small booths on the perimeter were full. We take the large booth in the back corner. The tables in the center were six tops. That booth wasn't clean clean. 50-11 crumbs in the chair. I wipe them off. We wait. No menus brought. One of the expediters walks by. Didn't even stop . A four top arrives. P is at their table in 2.5 seconds with menus and cutlery. Well dayum. Why don't we have anything? We see our waitress waiting on the table next to us. She takes the orders of the two older gentlemen making small talk even. No worries. What she did next should have told me how this whole experience was going to go. She brought the menus from their table to our table. Ummmmm, I don't know what cruds they could have had. Then asked what we wanted to drink. Ma'am! We just got menus. She returns with our water. Asks if we are ready to order. Ma'am' we just got these menus. We place our orders. I ask her name. Like you rolled up on us and didn't even introduce yourself. Jasmine takes our order. Food comes out faster than expected. Great! That's where it begins to go downhill. Jasmine never brought cutlery to our table. We had to ask and wait longer than I think it should have taken. Mind you I saw how P was working her table. Jasmine checked on the gentlemen several times. A family sat at a table on the other side of them. She was speedy with their service. More on that later. The gentlemen leave. Mind you Jasmine hasn't come back to our table at all. Wait once after we got all our food. That's how we go cutlery. I've drank my glass of Diet Pepsi. Would be nice to get a refill. She comes back with a wet rag to wipe off the table where the gentleman sat THEN asks if we need anything. I ask for a Diet Pepsi refill. Bae is in the bathroom and I let her know that he wasn't satisfied with his meal. She just looked like "oh, okay". No server should ever want to hear this. We did not ask for a manager. Meanwhile across the restaurant P has already served and turned that four top. Recall they were sat after us. As I continued to look around other tables were getting soda refills. AND I saw piping hot food delivered. Bae's eggs weren't piping hot. I mean "steam" was coming off these other plates. Bae came back to the table as I was telling Jasmine he wasn't happy with his food. We went there for French toast. He ate one piece. Half his eggs and half his potatoes. He asked for the check. This is after I'd asked for my refill. So I asked again. Jasmine brings out all the food for that family's table. She even brings. An extra plate. Looks over and must have remembered our requests. In the time she went to get an extra plate I could have had a soda refill which I really wanted to drink my soda in the restaurant as I finished my meal. She instead brings it in a to go cup. Fine but had she been more attentive I would have had a refill at the table. Enough about the mid level service. In case you're wondering Bae did tip her 15%. His food did not arrive piping hot. I didn't get a refill. We had to ask for cutlery and watch everyone else around us get better service even those in our section. No, the restaurant wasn't packed but patrons steadily flowed in. We shouldn't have been there for as long as we were. The food? Not terrible except the meat to bread ratio in the patty melt (see photo). Thin party. It was very tasty. I enjoy a good patty melt don't expect the meat to be that thin. The grits? Ouch! Not a lick of salt in the cooking liquid. If you do have salt in the water, please double it. Once I added salt they tasted fine. Bae didn't complain about the coffee so I will say that was fine. Bae says we're not going back to this location. Which is disappointing since it's a short drive and one of few places that serves regular degular French toast. I knew Jake's on Wendover and Downtown would be packed due to GHOE. The Battleground location was busy and getting overflow from the place up the street from them where we went first so we didn't stop there. As we were leaving Jasmine was already talking to the new patrons at the table where those gentleman were sitting. They hadn't been there two minutes whereas we easily waited five minutes before being acknowledged. I'm not saying don't go to Jake's. By all means give them a shot. They have been a Greensboro staple for decades! Our experience this time was less than 4 stars. That's all.
