He is a puppy, so accidents were of course to be expected. To our surprise, Aramis did not seem to be either crate or house trained and peed everywhere in the house, even after long walks, and howled if ever put in a crate. We decided it was better to return him so that he could receive proper training before adoption. Diana has since blamed me and accused me of mistreating the dog, and the President was just as bad. Aramis is back up for adoption days later, so I don't believe any new training has been given. Buyer beware with these folks. I hope the best for all the pups, but would recommend you look at other shelters.

The new owners are enthusiastic and have a great passion for wild birds and catering to their needs. When I walk in, they greet me by name and inquire how the last purchase worked out. They listen carefully and offer recommendations to maximize the enjoyment both myself and the birds get from the products being sold. My favorite product has to be the wide variety of seed cylinders. This compact collection of seed makes the birds work a little more to remove a tasty morsel. What that means for me is that they linger a bit longer at the feeder and I get a better show. So happy this place is right around the corner.

And basically to check this place out, I've been wanting to visit for awhile now. Wound up being helped by Megan, who is the freshwater expert there. She hooked me up with pellet food for my betta, frozen food for my betta and bottom dwellers, and 2 amazing XL amanos (replaced my dead nerites with them). Megan is your gal if you need fresh water tank advice, she knows her stuff. I will be going back this weekend for another XL amano if they have them. Possibly another plant, we'll see. My only complaint is the hours, otherwise I love this place. It's worth the drive from Falls Church to talk to knowledgeable fish people and get my fish therapy on.

However, WW also has a small cat room in the back that holds a well selected (albeit somewhat limited) variety of merchandise for feline lovers. I have purchased a little bit of everything here (when I am in the area) and have nothing but good things to say about them. I have even noticed that their products seem to outlast some of their competitors cheaper quality items. Lastly, the staff really could not be more lovely! It is pretty obvious they only hire pet lovers and seem to genuinely care about their customers and the overall community.

A nice selection of good-quality food, treats and toys, and they also carry my favorite leashes from UpCountry. I would have bought one, but they only had the narrow widths, and I like the regular 1" width for the boy. However, I will definitely stop into their other locations should I pass them, and if I find myself in Middleburg ever again, I'm sure there will be a return visit. The ladies working were very nice, and I commented to my friend that if I were ever to work in a shop, I would want it to be a pet store since the customers tend to be the friendliest on earth!

I have been spending money on a treat for my dog twice a week for about 6 months. The cashiers at…read morethe shop are sweet, but the owner is really unpleasant and has been nasty a few times before. Today was the final straw when she refused to help me (I wanted to see if my dog would tolerate a scarf over her head and wanted to use one of her coats--not to put on the whole thing, just a ribbed section over her head. There was no risk of damaging her merchandise.) When I expressed my displeasure she tried to back pedal and make alternative suggestions, but I have had enough of her passive aggressive behavior toward me and my (very well behaved) dog. I will not be visiting any more. This makes me sad because I'd rather support a small business than the big guys.

We waited for 30 minutes and then we were told that it would be much longer. The person in charge said she would call us when it was available which was nice because we didn't have to wait there. Luckily, we were staying close by. I would recommend calling first to see what the availability is for the washtub if you are going there to self wash your dog. I do think $20 is a little pricey since TSC offers the same service for $9.95. Unfortunately, there isn't a TSC for 30 miles away that offers it though.
