I walk here from work and the wait times fluctuate depending on the weekday (mon and fri are usually the busiest during lunchtime). The drinks are consistent and ive had several matchas so far. Id say the matchas are more on the watery side (i dont mean diluted, but the matcha is not that creamy). The following is my review of the matchas ive tried: 1) banana jackfruit matcha: jackfruit taste isnt strong and i wish it was a bit stronger. It was more fragrant than flavorful. however, i do enjoy the taste of banana and jackfruit together. Its very unique and i havent seen cafes with this flavor combo before 2) mot hai ba (pandan + coconut): my all time favorite. The cream top help makes the matcha thicker and all the flavors are balanced well 3) strawberry shortcake matcha: strawberry flavor is not that strong imo and most of the strawberry flavor i got was from the topping itself. I recommend this to people who wanna try matcha for the first time 4) lychee matcha: initial taste threw me off, but its refreshing and it grew on me the more i drank it. However, i personally wouldnt get this again The only qualm i have with this place is that there hasnt been any air conditioning in the store during the two weeks ive visited. I got the Strawberry Shortcake Matcha and it was very watery. One of the worst matcha drinks I've had in a long time. It was very busy and very hot inside. Not sure if they were having an off day or not, but my drink wasn't what I was expecting. It was very underwhelming, however, service was friendly. Parking was ok. STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great drinks, atmosphere, and staff, but limited seating. When they first opened it was a mob scene so it took me a while to try them out, but now that I've been a few times I can confidently say this is now one of my favorite LB coffee/tea spots. I especially love their Iced Matcha latte--great matcha flavor with the perfect amount of sweetness. .The staff are always great, and the owner Tommy can be very gregarious and chatty when it's not too busy. Bonus: he's an unapologetic cat dad! They have a great-looking interior designed by the cool local architectural firm Design Camp. Their only seating, however, are the Vietnamese-style plastic stools out front so I've only ever gotten drinks to go. Anytime we visit Reinne's we feel at home. The staff is so warm, and they take true pride in recognizing their customers. We frequented their pop up and were so excited when they opened their flagship store. The strawberry matcha and their Kyoto drip coffees are our go-to's but the menu is so incredible you'd be good with anything you order. Pro tip: go early or you'll be on a well deserved long line. This was one of the stops of my friend's and my cafe tour in Long Beach. We came on a random weekday yet the place was bustling and lively! They made our drinks very fast and the workers seemed nice. I tried a seasonal / special menu item, which was the lychee matcha. It was an interesting combination that wasn't really my cup of tea. Absolutely a wonderful cafe. We were kindly helped by an attentive employee and he was very knowledgeable. He answered all our questions and had amazing recommendations. The inside is tasteful, and although there is no seating, there is plenty outside. The matcha and espresso are honestly on the lighter side, but the flavorings are strong while not being too sweet. Went on a Monday morning cruise with my pupper in the back seat to try the ube coffee. The hot ube coffee with espresso is what I ordered and it was delicious! The espresso shot was not too strong and I like that. The ube foam was on point. It wasn't too sweet and I still taste the ube flavor. It may be hot outside but its worth the wait. Reinne's place has been a hot spot in Long Beach for well over a year now and their newest storefront has consistent long lines. Is it worth it? Yes, the coffee is great and the menu is extensive so its worth planning ahead so you are not overwhelmed. They have classics and more of those popular sugary/fruit forward drinks. So even if you are not looking for some cold foam on your coffee can find something for you. I recommend the Manila Vanilla as a classic option. I would say, parking can be complicated. Updating my review from 4 to 5 stars now that the flagship store is open on 4th Street! I love the decor and the brown interior. Everything feels very intentional. I have been here multiple times now to get different drinks and they are all so good! The service is exceptional, everyone is super friendly and helpful in recommending a drink, especially if you've tried their most popular ones already. New drinks I tried: the dirty soda. Amazing! Its a cold brew that you can see it being processed at the counter. It tastes like birthday cake! The Americano with the single origin beans, I think it's called peachy? It has such a delicious fruity flavor! No sweetener needed. The notes remind me a lot of guava! If you want something more different or floral, the garden is also great! Very jasmine oriented. The story behind Reinne's Place is what drew me here! The owner Tommy opened this Vietnamese + Filipino-inspired coffee shop in honor of his late girlfriend, and you can definitely feel the heart & intention behind the brand. My friend and I came on Memorial Day, so we knew it would be a long wait and waited around 45 minutes total. We ordered the strawberry shortcake matcha & ube horchata matcha with koji rice milk but unfortunately, both drinks felt a bit underwhelming. They tasted more milky/watered down and lacked the matcha flavor we were hoping for. I also didn't realize their drinks came half-sweet so I would ask for 100% sugar next time. Granted, they seemed genuinely busy so we didn't ask our drinks to be remade. I'm sure if we did, it would've led to a better experience overall. I first heard the story of this cafe on the news and the tragedy that became the foundation for a community of love built around it. I've been coming here every weekend to try something new, and it's my favorite coffee shop in the Long Beach area by far. Their drinks are consistently good, and certain drinks definitely reflect a hard-to-find richness in flavor that I am appreciate of. Here are my notes so far: - Favorite is definitely the Ube Horchata as an espresso drink. Each flavor stands boldly but also incorporate well together. Loved this no froze place. You walk in you order your coffee there's plenty of space to sit. It looks like they also do art shows because there is a lot of blank space but they also had artist work for sale that you could browse. As in with everything in Long Beach parking was a little bit of a hassle but if you go anywhere in Long Beach, you already know that's the way it's gonna be. This spot was dedicated to Tom's late girlfriend, Reinne who passed in a car accident. After learning Tom's story I was intrigued to try his coffee and matcha. They are all delicious and might I add, some of the best matcha in Long Beach right now. I would recommend the buko pandan matcha w/ oat milk! For coffee, I really enjoyed manila vanilla as an espresso. The service was excellent and the ambiance is lively with an area dedicated to reinne checks. Reinne checks are given to customers upon request to share something to the deceased or to the old versions of themselves. I actually had a brief connection with Reinne She helped styled me for my 25th birthday at Artizia back in 2021 and I loved that dress even to this day. She was soo sweet and knowledgeable that I go back just for her whenever I have to dress for events. I was incredibly sad when I heard about what happened to her and I'm so happy this places opened up in memory of her. Unfortunately we came when their flagship location was under construction so we didn't get to see the full brick and mortar but we will be back! 10/10 for ambience, service and drinks. I honestly do not think I can come back here again--it's TOO emotional for me. I can feel all of the love poured into this establishment, the joy and sentimentality and intent. I honestly wish I didn't hear of the story behind this place before I stopped by to try it, I was near tears before I even made it to the register LOL. I wandered into Reinne's Place after learning they served Hōjicha, a tea I became obsessed with during my trip to Japan two weeks ago. Their version is a darker roast than what I had abroad, so the flavor leaned more smoky than the sweet, nutty profile I remembered. With the agave and Koatji oat milk, it still had a soft sweetness that made it really enjoyable. The café is small but intentionally minimalist, the kind of design that instantly transported me back to Japan. To the right of the register, they sell small curated gifts; those tiny mahjong tile magnets were ridiculously cute. But the detail that stayed with me most was the wall of "Reinne Checks" on the left: little receipts where people had written notes to their loved ones. I didn't take a photo because they felt intimate, but it was such a beautiful expression of community. If you haven't visited yet, you should. I've been having some bad luck with having my heart set on trying something I've seen on a menu then finding out when we arrive at the location that it's sold out. Today, it's the Ube + Ube item. Darn. So, I got the Reinne'spanner and it was a solidly good drink. The quality of their drinks are solid. Also go the Bibingka they offered with a recommended dipping sauce and loved that too. Such a charming little spot with a unique art gallery collab concept! The staff here are friendly and the blue jasmine matcha was fantastic. Perfect amount of sweetness with high quality matcha and a hint of jasmine. Super DISAPPOINTED!! The Baguio Banana was more of a 1 star...to be honest. Since the place is new, I don't want to be too harsh on the ratings. We were told that it was their top 3 drinks. When I finally got the correct address, the hours were all over the place. I felt like the place was so unorganized..so how could it be good? However, curiosity got me. Since I was in the area so decided to give it a chance. When we arrived, I saw the setting. It was already a turn off. Don't get it wrong, it was nice to browse the artwork. The coffee setup was sad. Found this cute little coffee shop from a trending video and didn't realize how incredibly close to home the backstory would hit. Hearing it brought me to tears and inspired me to come out and support. Reinnes Place is a Vietnamese Filipino coffee shop with really cool inspired drinks. Having seen Rienne's Place pop up on my FYP more times than I can count, I made a mental note that it was in Long Beach. When my friends & I were thrifting in the area & needed a little pick-me-up between shops, I suggested we stop in. I am so glad we did. I am usually a decaf girlie, but today I went all in & ordered the Milo Dino. Heavenly does not even begin to describe it. The coffee had a rich, full-bodied depth with a deeply chocolatey finish that lingered beautifully. It was so smooth & indulgent that I genuinely could not stop sipping it. My friend tried it, loved it, & later texted me to confirm the name of the drink. That tells you everything. I already know she will be back. The café itself is stunning. It is spacious & sunlit with an almost warehouse-like interior & plenty of table & chair seating throughout. The natural light makes the space feel warm & welcoming. What really stood out was the gorgeous artwork displayed around the café. Beautiful pieces from local artists add so much character & soul to the space. Love that. I am grateful we were nearby & able to support this local business. There is something special about a place that feels community-centered & heartfelt while honoring Rienne's legacy.
