Reinne's Place is a great neighborhood coffee shop with interesting latte flavors, standard lattes for those who don't want the frills, and single origin options for those who just want great coffee. It's small with limited seating and parking can be tough in this part of Long Beach; however, I think that the coffee is good and that the staff was friendly. First and foremost, the coffee is good here and that's what I'll focus this review on; however, I also appreciate their heart and their mission. If you feel inclined, fill out one of their Reinne checks. Reinne's is a good addition to this block of 4th street, which has San and Wolves and Speak Cheezy. I was happy to be able to stop by for some good vibes and coffee here, breads at San and Wolves, and bagels at Speak Cheezy!
Reinne's has a special place in Long Beach's heart. Tommy Le opened this coffee shop in honor of his beloved partner and created an intimate, welcoming space for the community that supported him during a difficult time. There are portraits of Reinne and "Reinne Check" note pads for patrons to write messages to her or their own dearly departed loved ones. A year after opening, there's still a line down the block during peak times. I was lucky to come on an early Sunday afternoon when the line was just out the door. It moved pretty quickly though. The space is small, and people have to shuffle around to find a good place to wait while letting others pick up their orders. Cute merchandise of games, cups, gifts, and snacks align the shelves. I ordered the strawberry shortcake matcha and asked for less sweet in case they make it on the sweet side. The house made fermented Korean cheong strawberry was subtle, but glad to be able to taste the matcha. The best part was the strawberry shortcake crumbles on the top! I wanted to add a shot of espresso to the strawberry shortcake matcha, but they advised getting it on the side so as not to alter how the drink was intended to be made. I appreciate that they served the shot as a double! It was very bold and injected me with the extra jolt of fuel I needed. Husband liked his Blue Jasmine Matcha and Ocean loved her Morris & Molly Pupcup! While waiting for our order, we noticed a card game for couples called 365. Each card is meant to be pulled a day with questions for couples to reflect on their love for each other. It's a great addition to our other activities we do to keep the spark alive! I wanted to try their Ube drinks next time! They get the house made vegan Ube halaya from San & Wolves next door, but they ran out at the time. Service was very friendly and helpful and our order came out in about 10 minutes!
Reinne's Place had THE best Earl Grey matcha I've ever had! The parking is limited to street! It's such a cute little café, but what makes it even more special is that it was created in memory of his late ex-girlfriend. I really love how her memory is honored throughout the café. They have cute little Knick knacks coffee/matcha they are selling inside as well. I loved the cute mahjong magnet and keychains. Their menu is pretty vast with a plethora of drinks! I love that they have an R&D section on the menu where they share their new drink experiments, which I thought was so fun! The staff was really kind and friendly, they gave suggestions based on our preferred flavors My favorite part was the "Reinne Check" a little space where you can write notes to loved ones you've lost and leave them there. I loved all the blue stools outside! They reminded me so much of the little stools you see in Asian households. My husband and I will definitely be back!
Came here and tried their Blue Jasmine Matcha. This was really good! There was a perfect balance of matcha and jasmine tea flavor where one tea didn't overpower the other. Also, it was not too sweet! I highly recommend trying this one. I would definitely come back and get the same drink again or maybe try their other drinks.
STEPH JUDGEMENT: Great drinks, atmosphere, and staff, but limited seating. When they first opened it was a mob scene so it took me a while to try them out, but now that I've been a few times I can confidently say this is now one of my favorite LB coffee/tea spots. I especially love their Iced Matcha latte--great matcha flavor with the perfect amount of sweetness. The staff are always great, and the owner Tommy can be very gregarious and chatty when it's not too busy. Bonus: he's an unapologetic cat dad! They have a great-looking interior designed by the cool local architectural firm Design Camp. Their only seating, however, are the Vietnamese-style plastic stools out front so I've only ever gotten drinks to go. It's great that they're next door to San and Wolves, too--the two businesses feel like they were meant to be neighbors. I wish them continued success!
This place isn't a rounded 5-star, it's a full 5-star with extra credit! Fantastic drinks for all taste buds, high quality ingredients (excellent matcha) and house made unique ingredients with flavor combos and fusions you won't find elsewhere. They have options for tea lovers, coffee lovers, non-caffeinated needs, kids, and dogs! It's a small spot, but that doesn't stop them from making an effort to minimize waste! If you don't mind sitting on a stool offered outside, you can get a real cup!!!!! Love love love!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We frequented their pop up and were so excited when they opened their flagship store. The strawberry matcha and their Kyoto drip coffees are our go-to's but the menu is so incredible you'd be good with anything you order. Pro tip: go early or you'll be on a well deserved long line. The shop is quite small inside with no indoor seating, but there are their signature blue stools outside if you need to rest your legs.

The strawberry shortcake matcha is so creamy and perfectly sweet !! This is a hidden gem, a 10/10. Must visit!

Reinne's Place was really great! I came here on a Saturday afternoon. The line was out the door but it went by quickly and we got our drinks super fast. Parking in the neighborhood is a 5 min walk but worth it for the bakery next door too. I got the Reinnespanner and it was not too strong or sweet. The pandan flavor was yummy and unique. If you like a sweet coffee I would opt for a different option since it is subtle and secondary to the espresso flavor even with cream top. It's a super cute store but no indoor seating, so not a place to study or chill at. Overall, worth a try if you like Filipino or Vietnamese flavors.

Bucketlist spot, sad but endearing. All lattes $7-8 and $12-15 for cold brews. Really unique Filipino inspired flavors + Baguio banana ($8; half sweet) so didn't taste any banana and barely jackfruit (mostly from bits). Decent latte! (8/10) + Watermelon Kyoto cold brew ($12) so pricey but very smooth and nice (8.2/10) + Oolong Matcha ($7.5; less sweet): interesting combo, it grew on me! The story behind Reinne's Place is what drew me here! The owner Tommy opened this Vietnamese + Filipino-inspired coffee shop in honor of his late girlfriend, and you can definitely feel the heart & intention behind the brand. My friend and I came on Memorial Day, so we knew it would be a long wait and waited around 45 minutes total. We ordered the strawberry shortcake matcha & ube horchata matcha with koji rice milk but unfortunately, both drinks felt a bit underwhelming. They tasted more milky/watered down and lacked the matcha flavor we were hoping for. I also didn't realize their drinks came half-sweet so I would ask for 100% sugar next time. Granted, they seemed genuinely busy so we didn't ask our drinks to be remade. I'm sure if we did, it would've led to a better experience overall. I'd love to come back to try their coffee or hojicha as I admire their mission and would still support if I'm ever in the area! read more

It may be hot outside but its worth the wait. Reinne's place has been a hot spot in Long Beach for well over a year now and their newest storefront has consistent long lines. Is it worth it? Yes, the coffee is great and the menu is extensive so its worth planning ahead so you are not overwhelmed. They have classics and more of those popular sugary/fruit forward drinks. So even if you are not looking for some cold foam on your coffee can find something for you. I recommend the Manila Vanilla as a classic option. I would say, parking can be complicated. Side streets are always full so you might find yourself walking from further out. read more

Been wanting to try this place for a while now since some friends highly recommended it. It's located next to San & Wolves Bakery in a really cute part of Long Beach in a pretty smallish location too but they really have some awesome drinks! When I was looking at the menu, the Milo Dino and the Manila Vanilla caught my eye instantly, both awesome and really easy to drink and enjoy. I think they also do matcha in them as well or you can pick a shot of coffee? It was one of the staffers' birthdays when we were being served so it was cute to be a part of that as well. I'm excited to try more drinks when I'm in the area since the service and vibe are all so nice here! The story behind this small little drink spot is also so sweet and wonderful with the little Reinne checks as well on the side that you can fill out to send messages out... I love it! read more

To be loved is to be remembered and that message is portrayed deeply at Reinne's Place. I first heard the story of this cafe on the news and the tragedy that became the foundation for a community of love built around it. This being the new, brick and mortar location (conveniently next to San and Wolves Bakery for a two for one combo!), it was still under its soft opening as of May when I visited last, but should be up and running by the time this review is made. I love how it looks inside the space, it feels like you're in the kitchen of a mid-century modern home! There is a great selection of crafted drinks to choose from, I personally liked the Baguio Banana and Buko Matcha! There are a lot of drinks I have yet to try but with these drinks giving off a strong impression on the first try, I have no doubts I will be enjoying the rest of the menu eventually. read more

Loved everything we tried here. I'm glad we went on a Monday because they can have a pretty significant line on the weekends. I've been coming here every weekend to try something new, and it's my favorite coffee shop in the Long Beach area by far. Their drinks are consistently good, and certain drinks definitely reflect a hard-to-find richness in flavor that I am appreciate of. Here are my notes so far: - Favorite is definitely the Ube Horchata as an espresso drink. Each flavor stands boldly but also incorporate well together. This is my 5/5 drink and will likely be my go-to from here on out. - Reinnespanner is a solid einspanner offering, I enjoy the pandan and coconut flavors - Baguio banana was good, but the banana and jackfruit are subtler than I expected - The blue jasmine matcha mostly tastes like a matcha (likely the nature of butterfly pea tea being a negligible flavor addition most of the time) - Sweetness levels: The sweetness level on any espresso drink without a cream top is perfect for my taste. The matcha drinks can fall on the sweeter side for me, but I haven't yet asked to adjust it. Despite the long lines on the weekends, the service is quick and clean. The staff are friendly. It's in a neighborhood area, so there's free street parking outside. Can't wait to come back. read more

Everything is cute, cute, cute. Staff were very friendly. I asked if I can read the little notes on the order tickets, and they warned me. Absolute tear jerkers. I love the vulnerability that was shared. I got the drink with the pandan & expresso, if you like a slightly complex flavor, this is for you. Wanted to see if this place was all hype because of the story behind it, or if the cafe was actually good quality. Happy to report it's more than just hype. The matcha quality was perfect. The dark green color was already a good sign, and the taste sealed it!! Smooth , not overpowering, and you can actually taste the matcha. Definitely made up for yesterday's disappointing matcha experience somewhere else. You can tell this place was built with love, and the coffee quality matches the story behind it. Came right at the end of the day to avoid the crowds and already can't wait to come back. Next time I'll leave my pup behind so I can explore more of the menu Felt a little rushed because he's unpredictable with his barks, but overall he did well... minus sneaking a lick in. read more

This was one of the stops of my friend's and my cafe tour in Long Beach. We came on a random weekday yet the place was bustling and lively! They made our drinks very fast and the workers seemed nice. I tried a seasonal / special menu item, which was the lychee matcha. It was an interesting combination that wasn't really my cup of tea. It wasn't creamy at all and it didn't seem like the flavors really went well together. The matcha quality was good though so I'd probably come back to try their other drinks. read more

The matchas here are so good! This was my first time trying this place and the customer service was great! The cashier recommended we try the Reinne'spanner and the strawberry shortcake matcha. I was feeling more banana today, so I decided to get the baguio banana matcha while my bf got the reinne'spanner. They were both so yummy and the matcha itself tasted good quality. Loved this no froze place. You walk in you order your coffee there's plenty of space to sit. It looks like they also do art shows because there is a lot of blank space but they also had artist work for sale that you could browse. As in with everything in Long Beach parking was a little bit of a hassle but if you go anywhere in Long Beach, you already know that's the way it's gonna be. Service was great, very friendly and getting my coffee was fairly fast. My coffee was so delicious. I had to be mindful of taking small sips because I did not want my coffee experience to end. I did get stuck in their bathroom. The door would not open and I panicked for a little bit, but eventually it opened so be careful for that if you're going. read more

I've visited this shop twice now and can confidently say it's going to be part of my regular rotation. The first time my boyfriend and I visited, the baristas were incredibly welcoming. We mentioned it was our first time there and they took the time to give recommendations based on the kinds of drinks we usually order. The service felt very genuine and inviting. The drinks came out quickly and I ordered the strawberry shortcake matcha. I loved it so much that I came back a few days later just to get it again. Both visits had the same friendly service and calm atmosphere. I visited both times on weekend mornings around 8 to 9am and parking was surprisingly easy. There was a steady amount of people, but the line never felt overwhelming. I did notice people already sitting outside with drinks and food, so I imagine it gets busier before or after that timeframe. I do wish there was a little more seating, but the quality of the drinks, menu variety, and overall experience definitely make up for it. read more

Came here on an early Friday morning so parking was easy to find. It's a small place with the usual modern, clean coffee shop aesthetic. I love the story behind the opening of Reinne's Place. For my first visit, I decided to try the Reinnespanner with espresso and it was great. There was a subtle pandan flavor and the coffee was strong. Service was quick and friendly. I already want to come back and try their other drinks. It's also a plus that Sans and Wolves are right next door to them. read more

Went on a Monday morning cruise with my pupper in the back seat to try the ube coffee. The hot ube coffee with espresso is what I ordered and it was delicious! The espresso shot was not too strong and I like that. The ube foam was on point. It wasn't too sweet and I still taste the ube flavor. The ladies who had that morning shift on 7/20/2026 were very nice and asked if I would like anything my fur-child. such kind service! everyone working here was so lovely and greeted us after we entered on Saturday morning. they were patient and offered staff favorites from the coffee and matcha beverages. we decided on the reinne-spanner and the blue jasmine matcha. both were hits! the reinne-spanner has a bold espresso flavor, which we really enjoyed. lots of cafes over sweeten their drinks to the point where you don't taste the coffee these days, but reinne's place nailed it and perfectly balanced the flavors in this drink. I personally chose the blue jasmine matcha as a huge fan of jasmine flavors. the drink is matcha-forward, in a very pleasant way, with subtle floral notes from the jasmine. parking is your typical LB-parking situation -- street parking wherever you can find any! we got lucky and found a spot in the adjacent neighborhood street. this cafe is conveniently located next to a filipino bakery, which we also enjoyed with our drinks! read more

Great coffee and matcha! Love their flavors, although half of them were already sold out by the time I arrived around 11 am. We tried the Reinne'spanner (love the toasted coconut on top!) and the mot, hai, ba yo! (so rich and creamy!! if you like it sweet, order this one!). Can't wait to try the baguio banana and ube ube. They have closed up shop at Open Gallery per their instagram, and are opening up their storefront soon on 4th Street, next to San and Wolves (which will be an amazing breakfast combo! can't wait!) read more

I actually had a brief connection with Reinne She helped styled me for my 25th birthday at Artizia back in 2021 and I loved that dress even to this day. She was soo sweet and knowledgeable that I go back just for her whenever I have to dress for events. I was incredibly sad when I heard about what happened to her and I'm so happy this places opened up in memory of her. Unfortunately we came when their flagship location was under construction so we didn't get to see the full brick and mortar but we will be back! 10/10 for ambience, service and drinks. We got the Reinne's spanner both with espresso and matcha. It was soooo good, not too sweet and very refreshing the toasted coconut is also a great touch as well! Finally made it to Reinne's permanent store front and it is such a happy feeling to see their vision come to life! Such a beautiful and intentional space. Drinks were delicious, service was excellent. Love that its right next door to another business that puts Philippine flavors on the map. Such a lovely visit. Updating my review from 4 to 5 stars now that the flagship store is open on 4th Street! I love the decor and the brown interior. Everything feels very intentional. I have been here multiple times now to get different drinks and they are all so good! The service is exceptional, everyone is super friendly and helpful in recommending a drink, especially if you've tried their most popular ones already. New drinks I tried: the dirty soda. Amazing! Its a cold brew that you can see it being processed at the counter. It tastes like birthday cake! The Americano with the single origin beans, I think it's called peachy? It has such a delicious fruity flavor! No sweetener needed. The notes remind me a lot of guava! If you want something more different or floral, the garden is also great! Very jasmine oriented. Lastly the Baguio banana was all amazing! I love that there's a little jackfruit on it. So happy to have a walkable place nearby that does such a good job for the community.
