Safe to say, this is easily my fav cafe in long beach. I visited reinne's cafe when they used to operate out of the open gallery across the ways, but now Tommy has a whole independent cafe!!! It may be hot outside but its worth the wait. Reinne's place has been a hot spot in Long Beach for well over a year now and their newest storefront has consistent long lines. Is it worth it? Yes, the coffee is great and the menu is extensive so its worth planning ahead so you are not overwhelmed. They have classics and more of those popular sugary/fruit forward drinks. So even if you are not looking for some cold foam on your coffee can find something for you. I recommend the Manila Vanilla as a classic option. I would say, parking can be complicated. Side streets are always full so you might find yourself walking from further out. read more

To be loved is to be remembered and that message is portrayed deeply at Reinne's Place. I first heard the story of this cafe on the news and the tragedy that became the foundation for a community of love built around it. This being the new, brick and mortar location (conveniently next to San and Wolves Bakery for a two for one combo!), it was still under its soft opening as of May when I visited last, but should be up and running by the time this review is made. I love how it looks inside the space, it feels like you're in the kitchen of a mid-century modern home! There is a great selection of crafted drinks to choose from, I personally liked the Baguio Banana and Buko Matcha! The story behind Reinne's Place is what drew me here! The owner Tommy opened this Vietnamese + Filipino-inspired coffee shop in honor of his late girlfriend, and you can definitely feel the heart & intention behind the brand. My friend and I came on Memorial Day, so we knew it would be a long wait and waited around 45 minutes total. We ordered the strawberry shortcake matcha & ube horchata matcha with koji rice milk but unfortunately, both drinks felt a bit underwhelming. They tasted more milky/watered down and lacked the matcha flavor we were hoping for. I also didn't realize their drinks came half-sweet so I would ask for 100% sugar next time. Granted, they seemed genuinely busy so we didn't ask our drinks to be remade. I'm sure if we did, it would've led to a better experience overall. Best matcha in Long Beach hands down! I've been coming here every weekend to try something new, and it's my favorite coffee shop in the Long Beach area by far. Their drinks are consistently good, and certain drinks definitely reflect a hard-to-find richness in flavor that I am appreciate of. Wanted to see if this place was all hype because of the story behind it, or if the cafe was actually good quality. Happy to report it's more than just hype. The matcha quality was perfect. Loved this no froze place. You walk in you order your coffee there's plenty of space to sit. It looks like they also do art shows because there is a lot of blank space but they also had artist work for sale that you could browse. As in with everything in Long Beach parking was a little bit of a hassle but if you go anywhere in Long Beach, you already know that's the way it's gonna be. I actually had a brief connection with Reinne She helped styled me for my 25th birthday at Artizia back in 2021 and I loved that dress even to this day. She was soo sweet and knowledgeable that I go back just for her whenever I have to dress for events. I was incredibly sad when I heard about what happened to her and I'm so happy this places opened up in memory of her. Unfortunately we came when their flagship location was under construction so we didn't get to see the full brick and mortar but we will be back! 10/10 for ambience, service and drinks. I've been having some bad luck with having my heart set on trying something I've seen on a menu then finding out when we arrive at the location that it's sold out. Today, it's the Ube + Ube item. Super DISAPPOINTED!! The Baguio Banana was more of a 1 star...to be honest. Since the place is new, I don't want to be too harsh on the ratings. We were told that it was their top 3 drinks. Paying like $8 or so for one drink that ain't good ...INSANE!! The drink literally had no taste of banana. The coffee itself didn't taste fresh since there was no coffee aroma or anything. Coffee itself was weak. It tasted so watered down. The coffee was made quick. I don't think there were any efforts in making the drink. I should have trusted my instincts. I saw this place popping up on social media a few times. The names of the drinks and descriptions were creative. Got me wanting to try it. I tried to visit previously, but the address was incorrect. When I finally got the correct address, the hours were all over the place. I felt like the place was so unorganized..so how could it be good? However, curiosity got me. Since I was in the area so decided to give it a chance. When we arrived, I saw the setting. It was already a turn off. Don't get it wrong, it was nice to browse the artwork. The coffee setup was sad. Found this cute little coffee shop from a trending video and didn't realize how incredibly close to home the backstory would hit. Hearing it brought me to tears and inspired me to come out and support. Reinnes Place is a Vietnamese Filipino coffee shop with really cool inspired drinks. Having seen Rienne's Place pop up on my FYP more times than I can count, I made a mental note that it was in Long Beach. When my friends & I were thrifting in the area & needed a little pick-me-up between shops, I suggested we stop in. I am so glad we did. I am usually a decaf girlie, but today I went all in & ordered the Milo Dino. Heavenly does not even begin to describe it. The coffee had a rich, full-bodied depth with a deeply chocolatey finish that lingered beautifully. It was so smooth & indulgent that I genuinely could not stop sipping it. My friend tried it, loved it, & later texted me to confirm the name of the drink. That tells you everything. I already know she will be back. The café itself is stunning. It is spacious & sunlit with an almost warehouse-like interior & plenty of table & chair seating throughout. The natural light makes the space feel warm & welcoming. What really stood out was the gorgeous artwork displayed around the café. Beautiful pieces from local artists add so much character & soul to the space. Love that. I was sadly disappointed with my overall experience here because the reviews were mostly positive and everything looked really cute. TLDR: I was overwhelmed inside and underwhelmed with their matcha. They need a better line system to prevent cutting. I tried their Blue Jasmin Matcha which tasted mostly like milk with hints of matcha and sweet pea. I walked here so I didn't experience what parking is like in this area. I believe it's only street parking. The interior and decor is trendy and cute. I liked being able to browse all the small items against the wall. It's really small inside and have no tables inside. You can sit outside on some stools. They have no markers or system for the line to order inside with only a line roped up outside. At one point, people waiting for their drinks were mixed in with people waiting to order, it felt very chaotic in there and I couldn't wait to get outside. This system also caused 4 people to cut in front of me when I was waiting in the outside portion of the line. It would've been more if us and other people in line didn't attempt to tell people there was a line. As upsetting as it was, I don't blame the people because there were no signs, system of a line aside from the short rope outside that people didn't even notice, or any employee who's responsibility was to manage the line. It was kind of comical because the cashier told the people in front of us who had cut the entire line outside that "hopefully [they] didn't have to wait outside for too long." They responded with no because they didn't wait in that line. My Blue Jasmin Sweet Pea Matcha that I got with whole milk tasted only like milk with faint hints of matcha and sweet pea. I saw the employees using a scale when pouring the matcha so my assumption has to be that this is the set amount of matcha for this drink. They do blend the matcha very well so the drink was smooth. It wasn't until I was at the end of my drink when all my matcha had settled at the bottom and I mixed that into the small amount of drink left that I was able to taste the matcha. I also didn't really taste the Jasmin in it at all and I think I could maybe make out the sweet pea.You can see in my picture that they didn't even fill my cup to the top like I saw most of the other drinks were filled up to. My friend got the strawberry shortcake matcha drink and also mentioned she didn't really taste the matcha in her drink either. I would've been interested in coming back to give them a second chance to try their pandan matcha because I love pandan and maybe this was just an off day as they said they're still in their soft opening phase. But honestly the whole wait situation turned me off and if they don't have a better system in place, I wouldn't try going again. read more

A coworker and I drove over an hour early on a Wednesday morning since we had business in the area--and we made sure this spot was part of the plan. We almost missed it, as there's no visible signage aside from a small chalkboard easel by the door. Parking is tough, but trust me, it's worth the hassle. When you step inside, you're welcomed into a gallery space featuring local art and crafts, which immediately sets the tone. The counter itself is a pop-up cart, adding to the café's understated charm. The employees were incredibly warm and welcoming. We ended up having a great conversation about our careers and our shared love of matcha. We both ordered the Baguio Banana with koatji (koji rice)--something I had never tried before. I can't believe I'd been sleeping on this because it was such a treat for my tastebuds. If you go, I highly recommend substituting your milk with koatji; it complements the matcha beautifully. I've truly never tasted anything like it. The addition of jackfruit brought another layer of flavor that tied everything together. The jackfruit flavor overpowers the subtle banana flavor so if you're not fond of jackfruit, skip this drink entirely. I remember watching a TikTok about this place and crying ugly crocodile tears. A barista opened this cafe to honor his late girlfriend that serves Filipino and Vietnamese inspired items, a blend of their cultures. He even named it after her I ordered the reinne'spanner with espresso and oat milk and it was good, but I wish the flavors were stronger. I think he has created such a  beautiful space and gathered a beautiful community to honor her. Reinnes Place in Long Beach has been getting a lot of attention lately, so I decided to stop by on a regular Monday to see what the hype was about. One of the biggest disappointments was that they were out of their Manila Vanilla Latte flavor. Personally, I feel like every coffee shop should have a solid, standard vanilla option available. Vanilla is such a staple flavor, and considering they've had time since their soft opening, not having that dialed in felt like a missed opportunity. I ended up ordering an iced Americano. Unfortunately, it lacked the boldness and complexity I typically look for in an Americano. Instead of having rich notes of fruit, chocolate, or other distinct characteristics, it came across as watery and one-dimensional. In my experience, Americanos should be robust and flavorful, and this one fell short. I also noticed that their cream has a much thinner consistency than what I personally prefer. If you enjoy a lighter, runnier cream, this may be right up your alley. I tend to prefer something with a little more body and richness. We also tried one of their matcha drinks. The matcha had a beautiful color, which initially gave me high hopes, but the flavor wasn't there. The drink leaned heavily toward the milk, and the matcha itself was pretty muted. It looked great but lacked the bold, earthy matcha flavor I was expecting. While sitting there, I observed several other drinks being made and served. From what I could see, many of the espresso-based drinks appeared very light in color, and it seemed like the milk was overpowering the espresso rather than complementing it. I visit a lot of coffee shops and genuinely enjoy trying different cafés and coffee programs. With that perspective, I felt that Reinnes Place was lacking in several areas, especially considering the price point. At around $8 per drink, the pricing is comparable to many cafés throughout Los Angeles, where I generally expect a higher level of execution and balance in the beverages. Overall, the shop has a nice atmosphere and has clearly attracted a strong following, but based on my visit, the drinks didn't quite live up to the expectations or justify the price point. read more

The shop is very small like the bakery next door. There is no indoor seating, just some blue stools outside. Very minimalistic. Love that they sell little art/craft pieces as well. My husband liked the plain black cold brew. I like the strawberry shortcake matcha. It's a little more on the milky side and it's not too sweet. The strawberry shortcake toppings are so good. I'm not expecting much but only wish the customer service was a little nicer or friendlier. read more
