Chill staff too! I chatted with a barista to find the right cup to get, then enjoyed a brew from Newbery St. (beans from Thailand!). It came out super delicious, and I enjoyed my purchase in air conditioned bliss. Pourover coffee not your thing? There's batch brew, and you can always get a cappuccino. Or matcha. Or a Thai tea. This place is a trip. Every time me &my husband get a drink from this coffee shop there is ALWAYS an issue. We go back cus the coffee&matcha is decent but the service &how they go about ordering&what you can order is absurd. Every time my husband wants to add coldfoam to a drink the barista always says no it's only on certain drinks. But your a coffee shop that provides that on "speciality" drinks but can't offer it on an iced latte that we are willing to pay for? That's crazy. Also there is nowhere on their menu or inside or outside of their shop that says WE CANNOT MODIFY ANY DRINKS on our menu cus if your only putting this "coldfoam" on certain drinks then SAY THAT SOMEWHERE and you should probably put up a sign directly by the menu or at the cash register area saying WE DO NOT ADD ON COLDFOAM ON TOP OF whatever drinks you don't offer it on so people know what to expect when ordering. I really think it's weird and ridiculous that you offer a "coldfoam" on "specialty" drinks but literally cant just put it on top of a plain vanilla latte &the customer can pay for it still, almost ALL coffee shop nowadays offers that at the least. And the TWO drinks I believe they put a "coldfoam" on top of, on the actual menu it doesn't even say that they come with the coldfoam, so how are we the customers suppose to know what drinks come with coldfoam and what drinks don't? Overpriced for the most mid coffee "experience" Decided to try a pourover and didn't even register the price until I sat down. IT WAS $13!!!! The menu said MP like it was a piece of lobster... They provided only enough coffee to fill up half the miniature cup (the water is in an espresso cup for size reference). WOW. Incredible coffee spot. It may not look like anything from the outside but love their drinks!! We drove quite a bit out over the weekend to try this spot, was stuck in traffic for almost 2 hrs and it was a hot day. Found street parking luckily, especially since they don't have their own parking lot but the street didn't seem too busy. Took a few minutes to look over the menu and I knew I had to order the Ube Latte. My bf got the Memento Latte. Drinks came out really quick and such beautiful presentation. Came in on a Saturday Morning after walking my dog. Parking is on the street, it's kind of an interesting location like off the side of a road very easy to miss as you turn in! Came in today after leaving the dentist since it's down the street. I've heard of this place for awhile and passed by it a few times but haven't had the chance. Both were very good in flavor. Ube has fresh chunks along the cup and tasted like real Ube versus the artificial flavored very sweet Ube sometimes that shops have. I like to try out new coffee places in Long Beach with my friends, and I really wanted to try this spot out after seeing that ube latte on yelp. I thought my friend would like it, so we decided to come. I decided to get the memento latte, but wasn't impressed. To be fair, I don't really like lattes because I don't like too much milk, but I couldn't really taste the sugar and wasn't super coffee tasting either. Been wanting to try this new place and coffee was good but portions were TINY! Located on a busy, small street, this place could be easy to miss so keep your eyes peeled. Parking lot is very small. I ordered the Memento Latte with oat milk and it was good, nothing too special but good nonetheless. I did want it a bit sweeter so I added the coconut sugar that was by the barista station and it was better. Unfortunately, what got me was the latte not even filling up the entire cup. The froth/bubbles from the drink being shaken took up almost half of the cup. By the time it dissipated, you were left with like 50% of a drink. Super disappointed. I'm guessing this is the only drink that this happens with because the ube latte and mocha filled up their entire cups respectively but not this one which was weird. 3/5 Overall, I probably wouldn't go out of my way to try this place again just because my drink was not really anything special and the portion was deceiving. Probably a wonderful coffee work-date spot, I felt slightly more like a grown up leaving from there. They've got a small menu on a display near the cash register, and I noticed that they had a few devices that allow you to smell the different coffees/teas they may have on offer. We tried: Memento Latte: Their namesake drink definitely did not shy away from the robust espresso flavor, and was lightly sweetened with coconut sugar and rounded out with the creaminess from the milk. It felt classy and went down slow. Iced Chocolate: Don't call this chocolate milk. This ain't no Nesquik. Think European-style drinking chocolate: semi-sweet, cacao-rich and slightly bitter, balanced out with milk. Definitely caffeinated. Good for adults and sophisticated tastes, maybe don't get it for your toddler. They also had some pastries in their case that definitely had that Nonna Mercato look, but I'm not sure.
