We were extremely happy with Precision when they installed our mini-split unit 18-months ago. Now? Not so much. After cleaning our system over the months, as instructed by Prescision, the unit has a failed part that needs replacing, not covered by warranty, for $600. $200 service call fee will be waived, but that's ludicrous in the first place. The tech offered a system cleaning but that would be $375 per unit, with our system having 5 units total. So, 18-months in our $15,000 system is requiring $2000 of maintenance, due to no fault of our own. If this upkeep is necessary, we were mis-sold this system. There's no way we would have agreed to buy this system, if we knew frequent maintenance would cost $2000. To reiterate, Precision sold us a $15,000 system 18-moths ago and it no longer runs. And it's on us to pay $2,000. Not good enough. Highly, highly dissatisfied with our experience. read more

I had multiple services on the same unit last year without a proper fix: 4/17 - $425 for refrigerant fix and was down again after a few days. 4/24 - $1100 for nitrogen test and repair freon leak 3 months later, the unit is not working again with the same error code. If it was properly diagnosed, I would not have it serviced every 3 months. I called them again in August to check what was going on. They said we have to replace it and gave me a quote to replace the unit for $6200. I look for another company and was able to find one for 1/3 of the price and no problem since then. Within a week they came out to inspect what work was needed to be done, had their team schedule dates for install, and worked quickly to get the job done in a day and a half. When we experienced an issue with the pump after install (issue occurred after they made sure it was working properly) we notified them late at night, and Eddie saw the issue and had his guys over early the next morning to fix it (which was just a piece of plastic that had gotten into the water pump line). Of course it happened on the coldest night of the week when it dropped to 37 outside. We were so thankful when they showed up at the time they said they'd arrive. The technician called to let us know he was on the way, arrived masked up, was quiet, tidy and professional. Very soft spoken and trustworthy and fixed the issue. Turns out it was a bad wiring job on the thermostat from a previous handyman. The furnace is 22 years old, so I thought for sure it was dead, but the technician said it still has life left in it and looks to be in decent shape. I've worked over the years with Precision heating and air several times and every single time I was very satisfied, was astounded by the prices charged and was completely satisfied by the services delivered. Today, Andy, a technician that I have not met before pushed my satisfaction even higher! He was super friendly, explained every step he was taking, went out of his way to make sure that no debris ended up on the floor and was not only very friendly and approachable and kind, -- yet seemingly super knowledgeable and very much at ease with what he was doing. He spent quite some time here, and I asked him if he's being paid by the hour or by the job as I was worried that he spent too much time at my location. Precision Heating & Air was recommended to me by a builder that I have come to trust. The task was to procure and install a new HVAC system in a condo where the contractor tasked with relocating the existing system and adding a bathroom failed to take seriously my pleas for A/C and heat service in the occupied unit. Precision's installation manager, Victor Salazar, agreed to meet me the very next day, walked the job with me and explained exactly how the new system would be installed, what size unit I would need, and the additional support services that they would provide, e.g., removing the old system, removing unnecessary fire-system sprinklers, installing new ducting and registers, and relocating existing registers. While I initially worried that the location of my condo -- in the middle of a spread-out, townhouse-style complex -- would make installation of the rooftop heat pump very difficult, Victor's professional demeanor instantly gave me confidence that installing the new system would not be a major effort and I had found the right HVAC company to do this job. A day or two later, I had an estimate in my hands that sounded more than reasonable and called out exactly what Precision would do. I signed a contract, installation began the following Monday, and the system was up and running around a week later, And, Precision had done everything that they had promised to do. I would give 0 stars if possible. The worst company I have had the misfortune of dealing with, with a rude, arrogant, pedantic owner to boot: Our problems started with their 1st visit. Our landlord put them in touch with us as she wanted an estimate for our AC repairs. We made our appointment for Friday from 12 to 2 and were very clear that my girlfriend runs therapy sessions until 12 from home, so it was absolutely necessary that the technician not show up in the middle of said sessions as all the information is private and protected under HIPAA. The technician showed up at 11:20am in the middle of a session resulting in several privacy issues that could have resulted in my girlfriend losing her job. He left saying he would send our landlord an estimate. We followed up on Mon with our landlord who said she approved the fix and that this company would be in contact. We don't hear anything from them Mon so we call on Tues and they say that they "tried to call us and left a message" (neither I, nor my girlfriend, nor our landlord have a message from them.) We informed them of this and they said they would update their information. They told us that they had us scheduled for Thurs from 10am - 2pm. It's Thurs and we call at 8am to confirm our appointment. We are told we are on the schedule. At 10:30 we call as no one had arrived. The lady asks if we were "the ones in Escondido at (wrong address)" we inform her that she is wrong and tell her our address and she says that we are not on the schedule for the day and that she could "fit us in between 12-2." We ask her why they said we were scheduled when we called and confirmed in the morning? We do not receive an answer. Shortly after the call we get a call from a tech who says he will be here in 40 minutes. We ask him specifically as we have had a lot of issues and want to be clear on what is going on "are you coming to fix the system or just look/inspect it?" he replies that he is coming to fix it. We wait for two hours until after the expected appointment time 12:20PM and no one came or contacted us. We call the tech he does not answer so we leave a message. We hear nothing from the tech and as we are wondering what to do we receive a call from the Owner. He stated that the quote that they sent was for the original inspection they completed in Nov, when we first started having AC issues. Our landlord approved as she thought it was current. We asked him what the point of the tech coming on Fri was if they were just going to use their Nov quote? His reply was that on Fri they inspected it and concluded we needed a whole new system. We asked why then did they send the old quote? He did not answer our question, just kept saying that the old quote was for a repair, this was for a replacement of the whole system. We said we understood, so if this was a known issue, why when we called in the morning to confirm were we not told this? We were lied to. He said he was "telling the truth" and that's why "I the owner am calling you, to be honest and tell you the truth that the whole system needed replacing" and stated that it would be expensive etc and that he needed managements' approval to spend that much. We said yes, that is what the quote is for. Why did you send them an old one? He kept going in a circle of blaming our landlord. Then we asked "so if the landlord approved this what is the timeline for getting this repaired?" And replied "this can't be repaired it needs to be replaced." We know this, he knows we know this being pedantic about word choice was incredibly unprofessional. He said he could not guarantee us a timeline as it would depend on whether our landlord approved it or not. We said yes we understand, IF THEY APPROVE IT what is the typical time for this REPLACEMENT to be carried out? We asked this several times before he would say anything. This company will lie to you. They will mess up and blame anyone but themselves. This is clearly reflected in the owner's attitude that was evident from our call. Run away. Use anyone else. read more

I was a bit skeptical, but after having several estimates from the BIG name outfits I was looking for something more reasonable. We were surprised when we saw the estimate which was half of what we had been quoted. What really sold me was that they install Trane units, who are top rated by Consumer Reports. And we also got a new forced air heater we weren't expecting. Kyle and Anthony did the installation and explained the entire process. They responded quickly and diagnosed the problem as being a freon leak somewhere in the system. They gave me an estimate range, both orally and then in writing, as to finding, sealing or replacing the line as well as possibly the old unit, and approximately how long it would take to completely resolve the problem. The work was accomplished in less than the longest projected time and the fee was reduced because of this. Our general contractor highly recommended Eddie Campos, whom he uses for his heating and air projects. Eddie did not disappoint. He was professional, courteous, and easy to work with; he listened to our concerns and requests regarding our project, and custom tailored a roof top heating and A/C system for our small house which saved valuable ground level square footage. We live on the coast and have noisy nearby neighbors and nearby vacation rental properties. Now with central heating and air we no longer have to put up with our noisy neighbors while inside the house.
