I came in dehydrated and really tired, and left with glowing skin and a reset nervous system. I loved that my facial was blissfully quiet, and I almost drifted off to sleep. It's a really nice spa tucked away in the heart of Burbank. Upon entrance you are checked in and taken to the infrared room to relax before your service. It was amazing. I've been here before for Reiki with Heather (who is amazing at Reiki)but had never gotten any other services until today. He was attentive and really worked on my stress points where I actually felt some relief. I got called for my mini facial and Lissette was amazing. She gave me a consult on what would be best for my skin and after my face just glowed. During the facial the owner Traci was calling out the raffle winners for the night. I actually won! And I wasn't the only one! (Super cool))My next service was ear seeding. Something I knew nothing about was interested and Jenna was a wealth of info and blessed me with her gift! My birthday weekend massage ruined by disorganization and possible greed. I received a call the night before, 7:17 PM to be exact to notify me that a large party had booked my time slot at 11:00 AM for today, but when I booked it (about a week and a half in advance) it didn't show up. So I was asked if I could move my appointment to 12:00 PM. Keep in my mind the woman who called who sounds like the owner was not apologetic in any form. But I said, sure. My day was planned for but, an hour wouldn't hurt anything. But how do you NOT book a large party into your system unless it was a last minute request and the profit was just too good to pass up. Today at 10:11 AM I get another call asking if they could move me to 2:40 PM. I asked what was going on? She proceeded to say that they're very busy and are trying to accommodate other clients and they're calling to see who's willing to move their appointments. I expressed that it was rude to make room for "other clients" when I had made the appointment well in advance, it was my birthday weekend and I had plans for the day. I declined to move my appointment. I was so angry however, and knew I wouldn't enjoy the massage now, so I called back and told whoever answered the phone what happened and I was canceling. All I got was, oh, sorry for the inconvenience. I bought a new client package when I was there last because my experience with the facial I received was wonderful. And I bought one of their most expensive facials too, The Goddess Facial. Bought a cleanser and tipped generously. Guess it's going in the trash now because I know I won't be getting my money back or going back. Maybe I can donate the certificate to one of their "other clients" who are more important than a new client who was respectful, gracious and made an appointment in a timely manner. You never know what your clients might be going through. I've been stressed out from life, work and caring for an elderly mother who is very ill. This massage would have been very healing for me today. Be kinder and more apologetic when you have to make changes last minute. Christy did my facial was just a wonderful experience. Was super impressed by the care and attention I received at my facial appointment. First impressions count so much. Christy is great! She was very tentative and thorough explaining with detail what she was doing and what products she was using. I felt relaxed and at ease. Pretty impressed with final result. Why, oh why didn't I listen to the other negative reviews?! AVOID THIS UNORGANIZED BUSINESS AT ALL COSTS! I don't even know where to start. I have two kiddos and needed a day to relax. My husband bought me a Groupon (massage) for Relax Spa & Beauty as well as a gift card to a nail salon (not affiliated with this spa). Both offer online booking, which is fast, easy and convenient. Or so I thought. I booked the massage at Relax Spa & Beauty online the night before and I received a confirmation email (see attached photo). I didn't even go on the computer to open the email in its entirety as I checked over it and it said I was confirmed with Carmena. I figured I was good to go. The next day, the day of my appointment, I hop on Yelp to get the address of the spa. Another negative reviewer described a terrible experience where they were told they couldn't be accommodated when they showed up for their online-booked appointment because the spa's own online booking system isn't synced with their scheduling book at the front desk and the employees don't check their OWN ONLINE BOOKING SYSTEM TO COMPARE THE TWO. I got nervous, so I called in to the spa. Mind you, they had been open for hours at this point and I didn't receive any communication concerning the appt. ONLY the confirmation email. I explain to whom I assume to be the owner that I arranged childcare and was preparing to come in for my booked appt. She initially offers to honor the session. Okay, good. But then she goes on to explain that their online booking system is basically useless because apparently it's the customers responsibility to know if the spa has someone else booked in their appointment slot or not (right, that makes sense). I tell her she could have called me when the spa opened (you know, review your online bookings and your appt book in the spa and compare them, seems like the logical thing to do). Then she proceeds to tell me that not only can she no longer accommodate that time but that they're hosting a party for customers to come in and shop around I guess? So keeping my booked appt would be an inconvenience to them. This wasn't a private event, it was open to the public. And my massage was only an hour. It would have ended BEFORE this customer "event" was to occur. She stated "you wouldn't like it because we are prepping and you'll hear people talking". I told her because it is so difficult for me to get time away from the kids, my schedule is hectic, this was one of the only days for a long time I could sneak away for a spa day and I was fine with the noise of people, I could bring headphones. Easy solution. She places her hand over the phone and begins speaking to who I assume is Carmena. They're discussing putting me in some type of storage/small back room for the massage (because they needed the other space I guess?). Then I can hear the owner saying "yeah, right, I'm just going to tell her no, yeah no, this isn't going to work". How unprofessional are you, I can HEAR you discussing all of this. She says they can't do it because I'll hear talking despite the fact that I said I didn't care. I just wanted the time away and the massage for a painful back. Eventually she realizes that I'm okay with all the excuses she's throwing at me to get me to say "fine I'll cancel my appointment" that she tells me "I'll call you back and I'll comp you the massage you paid for through Groupon. I'll book you on the next available Sunday appointment" (I thought, okay, I can try to figure that out for tomorrow. It was Saturday 11/23). When I tell her Sunday could probably work she gets back on the phone with me after checking the book and says "okay we have Sunday Dec 8th". 2 weeks away? Are you KIDDING me?! I tell her never mind, forget about it. Her tone was defensive, aggressive, and rude. She did not CARE AT ALL that I was inconvenienced, that I had a booking. That rather than the business itself reach out first thing in the morning and say they are sorry they can't keep my booked appointment she waits until I call her an hour and a half before my appointment to treat me poorly, tell me I can come in, then retract that by cancelling the appointment entirely! She took ZERO responsibility for their crappy online booking service and took zero responsibility for the awful, unacceptable way she treated me. She didn't apologize. I was simply an inconvenience. Is it because it was a Groupon? Who knows. If you're going to treat your Groupon customers differently don't work with Groupon. I waited several weeks, giving this owner a chance to reach out before I wrote a negative review. I have YET to receive so much as a call or email!!! Groupon won't refund you if it's beyond 3 days. So I'm out almost $100 with no spa day. AVOID THIS PLACE, or at least the owner (the massage therapist might be awesome, guess I'll never get the chance to find out!). read more

I'm so relaxed I can hardly write this review. Seriously, these people mean what they say. I've had plenty of "spa" experiences that were just "okay". Relax Spa had me ready for night night. I had a Swedish Massage with Monica with two add-ons of a body scrub (I think it was Citrus Basil scented, but there were several to choose from) and I also added on greater intensity with focus on my neck and shoulders. Monica is certainly skilled as she hit all the right spots, spots that I didn't realize we're bothering me. She spent time on the back of my lower legs where there would be pain from wearing heels (I wear heels non-stop). Ahhhh, this felt phenomenal! I've NEVER had a masseuse rub there. What a shame. Now I'm ruined for all others. She did everything right okay, trust me. Heather gave me an Enzyme facial. This was just as relaxing and fabulous. The products smelled fresh, felt natural and light. She used a pumpkin enzyme/glycolic mixture at first, gave me an awesome facial massage (I mean seriously awesome), massaged my neck and shoulders, then applied a thick nourishing mask. I felt like I was there for hours with how relaxed I was. I added on a reflexology foot massage that seemed to go on for hours. These ladies aren't lazy with their add-ons, they put in work. I was highly impressed. I've done add-ons before and found it to be a rip-off and waste of money. Not here. I mean, I already told you I wear heels non-stop, this foot massage was heaven! Booked a pamper party for 7 people to celebrate my birthday. We had appointments starting at 10 AM and had the entire place to ourselves until past noon when the next party came in. She is very gentle, polite and informative about the products she is using, took her time to assess my the needs of my skin (changes with the season). Front desk (Sara) if there is a misunderstanding please let the person you're speaking with know that you're taking something the wrong way instead of taking the misunderstanding to heart. I purchased a Groupon and went to Relax Spa in Burbank. It's a small place, and not super fancy, but it's clean and the massage was great. Greg was a fantastic masseur. I had a 60-minute combo massage. I had been having trouble with my shoulder and Greg totally took care of it. I look forward to going back in the new year when my schedule slows down.
