This review is long overdue. I have been going to RA Organic Spa for over 20 years. I have visited other resorts and spas, but I'm always grateful that I found RA and can keep coming back. The feeling of comfort and serenity is abundant the moment you walk in. They greet you by name when you arrive and again when you leave. The lobby is small but very welcoming. They offer plenty of products for purchase, but they never hard-sell you. When you check in, there is a small waiting area where you can sit with hot tea, water, and small snacks while you wait. Please make sure to turn off your cell phone--this is a quiet zone, so whispering or no talking is encouraged. The dim lighting really makes you feel like you've stepped into another world. There is also another waiting area in the back if you need to change into a robe for your service. There is actually a lot of space back there to relax while waiting. The treatment rooms themselves are warm and comfortable, and each room has a closet for your personal items. In the back area, they also have changing spaces and lockers. There are two changing areas, along with a room that has chairs specifically for foot and neck massages. I highly, highly, highly recommend the foot massage. They take it to the next level because they start with your neck and arms before moving to the foot massage. I dare you to try not to fall asleep by the time they're done. I have seen the spa when they are busy and when they are slow, and I have never seen it dirty or unkempt. The level of cleanliness and the standards maintained by the staff have always been excellent. I've never had trouble booking an appointment. I've also given gift certificates to family members and friends, and three people I know now go there regularly because of those gifts. Their prices are by far some of the best in the industry. You simply cannot find a facial at the price they offer at RA. I've looked, and I can't find anything comparable. If you want a facial, I highly highly recommend Maria. She has truly turned back time on my skin with the facials she gives me. She listens to your needs and walks you through the products she uses to make sure they match what your skin needs and what you're looking for. She genuinely cares. Under new management, they have recently added online booking through their website, which is wonderful. I'm looking forward to another great 20 years going to RA--ugh, I just aged myself! A few additional notes: they do have a sauna, bathrooms, and one bathroom includes a shower. Parking can be a little tricky. There is structure parking and street parking, but the street parking is timed. I do have a great parking spot that I like to use... but I can't tell you where it is. It's my secret spot. I have been going to rA Organic Spa since it opened in 2007. I have been to other spas for deep tissue massages and other treatments, but no place I have tried can compare to rA. The environment is tranquil and peaceful. Everything has been thought of for you, so all you need to do is relax, from a soft robe, sandals, water and fruit stations and easy to find staff ready to help. The spa is beyond clean and well tended to. The staff is welcoming and professional. I had THE BEST massage I have ever had anywhere just last week! Nicky worked on my extremely sore body for an hour and a half. She has incredible listening skills and actually worked on the locations that I asked for with great precision and the perfect pressure. I am 56 years old and the massage I received from Nicky last week was truly the best I ever had. I rescheduled as I was checking out for tomorrow. I had a 60 minute facial with Anet. She was amazing! I always need extractions, and she did them effectively and painlessly (which is a first for me). She is so kind and knowledgeable. She customized the facial and products for my specific needs, and my skin was glowing afterward. She does the most comfortable and relaxing lymphatic draining (facial) massage I've ever had. The spa was clean and quiet. The masseuse did a great job and focused on all my problem areas. I was offered water after my massage but it was lukewarm. When I went into the lobby to pay for my services, the staff was having a meeting which to me seemed very unprofessional. I had to excuse myself while I walked through their meeting and PowerPoint presentation. I feel a back room or empty massage room would have been a more suitable place to hold the staff meeting. The facility is located in downtown Burbank so parking was a bit difficult as it is only street parking limited to 90 minutes. There are parking lots located a couple of blocks away if you don't kind the walk. For the amenities offered, I feel the prices are a bit inflated. read more

Such a cute place hidden in Downtown Burbank! Went with a friend for a relaxing massage. Upon entry, we were greeted by staff who confirmed our appointments and offered us chocolate and hot tea. We were assigned lockers to place our things and asked if we wanted a quick tour (which I recommend). You can change in the locker area or private bathroom if you prefer. We pretty much had the place to ourselves since we went during the week in the evening, so it was very quiet. We took advantage of the hot sauna (which also has a shower right outside the door). There are fruit baskets filled with apples and bananas if you need a snack and the water dispenser I found was located by the sauna. I had the 90 minute Swedish-Balinese Massage with Nian (sp?) and it was amazing! She was so kind and checked in throughout the massage to make sure I was comfortable. I've already scheduled my next appointment to come back. This is a great place if you appreciate a smaller, intimate space. There are stairs and it is darker, so be mindful when walking. read more

I absolutely recommend this spa if you need quality facials and massages in a sanctuary this is your place. It is like walking into a meditation retreat. They have saunas and showers for women and men, separated and cozy nooks for reading or scrolling before and/or after services. It's very quiet and peaceful!!! My facial 90 minute was done by Maria and she was great with her hands and very kind. Every service my husband and I get is incredible. A fabulous crew of professionals work here!! Great massage place! My hubby bought me a gift certificate for Christmas and I finally got around to making an appointment. You can request one online and they email you back pretty quickly. Made an appointment for a Swedish 60 mins massage for a Sunday at 2:15PM. Had to hold the appt with the Credit Card and I just used my Gift Card #. Just had to fill out a form when I got there and waited in the quiet room for my massage. They offered a passion fruit tea which was nice. My massage therapist was Jennifer and she was great! I had my second facial with Maria. She is extremely attentive and the treatment was relaxing and therapeutic. She customized the facial to exactly what my skin needed and educated me on what my next steps should be to optimize the results. My understanding is that in between my first and second visit, the spa changed ownership and from what I could see, the small improvements catered to the clients and created a more serene environment. Don't let the outside fool you, the place is quite spacious given the location. They have a small women's locker room, a dry/wet sauna, and showers. I initially wanted to try a facial but due to my schedule, I opted for a massage instead. I tried the 90-minute Swedish-Balinese massage, and it was so good. I'm usually really sensitive but the pressure by the technician, Niki, was perfect. She also spent a good amount of time massaging my head which almost put me to sleep! This place has lost its magic. The massage was good, but they no longer offer hot tea or fresh cut fruit which was a wonderful touch years ago. I wasn't offered any tea after so that was disappointing. Come on now tea is not that expensive! Front desk was ok, I was ushered in and out. The foot bath is just plain lukewarm water, the massage was done in complete silence so you can hear everything going on outside the doors. The services got more expensive but the experience cheaper. The spa was clean, and the massage itself was good. However, I specifically booked a couples massage, and we were told just before the treatment that the AC in the couples room was broken, so we had to be placed in separate rooms. This completely changed the experience we had planned and paid for. What was most disappointing is that there was no apology or offer to make up for the inconvenience. After giving them a glowing review, what a disappointment it has been working with them on a gift certificate I had received from my husband last year for Mother's Day! After booking my appointments, they said they confirmed with my husband, which he had NO record of & despite them having MY contact information! Suffice it to say, they then reduced the value of my gift card by 50%! I had been working on getting this resolved, had sent many messages & never received any satisfaction to my concerns & questions. FINALLY almost a full year later, I asked them to send the money back to my husband.
