I took my car in for an oil change, and a few days later, a warning light appeared on my dashboard indicating an issue with the engine oil. Soon after, I had to have my car towed, only to discover that the oil in my engine didn't look like "new oil" from a recent change. The filter was also old and used, which put my engine at risk. I will no longer be bringing my car here. If you do decide to, be sure to ask what type of oil is being used (to ensure it's NEW) and confirm that the oil filter is actually being replaced. In September 2023, I dropped the form off to this company, and gave it to the guy that states he was the owner of the company which is the guy that sits on the Left End when you first walk into their establishment. This same person held on to my document for 30 days. Once it got close to the 30-day expiring date, the owner reached out to me via voicemail while I was of town on vacation. He stated on my VM "they now have my part in, and to call them so they can schedule me to come get my Tire stem repaired. As soon as I got back from vacation, I contacted the owner to schedule my appointment to have the repair done, He then began to go back and forth with me on "how he wants me to go back up to Discount Tire so they can print me out another Form because the form that he originally had has expired after 30 days". I then stated to him "why did it take him to the end of 30 days to finally reach out to me". I also asked him, "why did he hold on to my document close to the time expiration date to finally reach out to me", he avoided my questions, in begin to put all the blame on Discount Tires, he also began to say multiple times how "he's not the one that broke my tire stem, and that I need to go back and get another form". I asked him if I could speak to a manager, he stated to me that "he's the owner of the company, and there's no one else above him". I didn't think that it was fair for him to make me do more running around. I also informed him that I was out of the way and it would be a drive for me, But he didn't care, he continue to cut me off and repeat that "it's not his fault". I then asked him "is there another way he can get the form from Discount Tires without having me to drive out of my way to go get another form" he stated "no". He didn't care, didn't have any compassion, no understanding, nor respectful. I told him that I will go back to Discount Tire like he want me to and redo the forms all over again in bring it back up to him as he told me to. Moving forward, yesterday December 8th I arrived back at his business and handed him the form, he looked at me with a funny sideways smile on his face as if he wanted to say something to me, which he did. He stated "wasn't you the one that I spoke with on the phone 3 weeks ago", what a fake side ways smile on his face. I stated, "yes I'm the one that you spoke to". So he felt like being real petty, worse than a woman, and felt the need to point out on the paper about the 30 day on the document. And then he kept saying over and over again "is this a Honda Civic", with a funny sideways smile on his face, I said "no it's a Honda accord", twice, I'm not quite sure what he was getting at. Then he goes back talking about the conversation we had over the phone 3 weeks ago, as if he couldn't let it go. At this point, I know he can see the frustration clearly on my face, So I stated to him, "what is the problem, I thought we already talked about this and got everything squashed 3 weeks ago, I thought that we came up with an understanding and we let it go, you really made me come all this way just so you can see me face to face and talk mess to me about a conversation that happened 3 weeks ago over the phone". He looked at me and he giggled and pushed my paper back towards my face, and stated "this is my company, I'm the owner of this shop, and I do not have to do the work for you, I can refuse to do the work for you". So I then asked him "so what is it that you want me to do", he stated "go back up to Discount Tire, and have them to send you somewhere else so you can get the work done, because I am refusing to do it for you". I stated "okay that's fine", I asked him for the flyer back, again he wanted to continue his pettiness and stand on his feminine ways by stating "no that's my flyer, I'm the owner and this is my company", I just stared at him with confusion on why he felt the need to continue to be so petty and small with conducting his business the way he's conducting it. I guess he must have felt something, because he gave it to me and said "you can have it", with a very sarcastic tone. Let me say this, God sees everything. That business that you speak so highly of and you keep throwing in people's face, God can take it away with a snap of the finger. You are no better then a man on the street that disrespects women and laugh in their face after you've done it. I would never send business your way, even though you may feel like you don't need it anyway. I will make ​ sure that I let everyone know, how you treated a woman that walked into your establishment, and then you sent me running around back and forth to Discount Tire to get another document to just slam it in my face and refuse service to me. I grew up with my Dad being a service manager at a Chevy Dealership, so I'm critical you could say. Reliable Auto Repair is my new go to. Professional, courteous, knowledgeable, from my 1st call to them. I had a bad wheel bearing. They quoted me, I paid for the part, and it was fixed the next day in less the time they quoted. They gave me updates while it was being fixed, brought the bad bearing out and explained everything to me. My Dad is smiling down from Heaven on Reliable Car Care. This is going to be a fairly long complaint, so I'll save you some time and summarize before I go into more detail. Summary: (1) Reliable Auto fixed my battery and drive belt issue (and broke a wire in my alternator in the process). (2) After the drive belt repair, I noticed my battery light intermittently turning on and I took my car back to Reliable Auto TWICE. Reliable Auto stated that they could not reproduce the issue. (3) I took my car back to Reliable Auto Repair for a third time after the battery light continued to stay on with more regularity. This time they found the wire that had broken on the harness of the alternator but stated that this issue was not covered under the warranty of the previous repair. (4) The manager at the time gave me a free oil change after he belittled me and YELLED at me. (5) I took my car to Honda of Tomball where they fixed the wire in my alternator for free and stated that the housing for the wires had been moved causing too much tension and subsequently breaking the wire. Now, I get it, stuff happens. The alternator wire breaking was probably an accident. My logic is that I brought my vehicle in for repair and an issue that I had not had before the repair cropped up after Reliable Auto repaired it. The repair that took place for the drive belt is immediately adjacent to the wire that broke on my alternator. I think that's a reasonable conclusion. I attempted to convey this to the manager at the time but instead of listening to me he belittled me by telling how me the DVOM, digital volt and ohm meter, works. When I stated that I felt the repair should be covered under the warranty he curtly replied "No". When I asked him to listen to me, he continued to interrupt me and then started YELLING at me. Yelling at a customer is not acceptable. The manager's justification for yelling at me was that "I was already mad." Well of course I was mad. This is the only vehicle that my household has right now and I didn't feel that my concern was being taken into consideration. But I never raised my voice at the manager. I remained cool but persistent. (Also, Bisons can't really yell. It's more like a bellow and it's not as intimidating as you might think.) He, instead, became irate and whirled his computer screen around, almost disconnecting it, to show me the work that had been done on my car as if I didn't know. Eventually I realized that he wasn't going to give me the respect I deserved as a customer, even though I had brought my vehicles to this location in the past, so I asked to pay for my oil change so that I may leave. The manager continued to state at the top of his lungs that he's "not in it for the money" and that "God's going to bless me". I got a free oil change but that didn't fix my battery issue. My battery light now remained on permanently. The next night, my car turned off while I was driving and I had to push it to the nearest gas station in the dark. Luckily, Honda of Tomball keeps great hours on the weekend and I was able to get it fixed the next day. They fixed the wire connection on the harness for free and without insult. I have never held so much animosity toward a business and I've gotten food poisoning from a restaurant. If you have any sense, you'll avoid this place like the plagued scum it is. read more

I have been taking my vehicles to Reliable Auto Repair for a while now, and they have always been friendly, professional, and timely, and I wanted to share my most recent experience. Today, I brought my vehicle to them due to a check engine light concern. Once they got my car into the garage, they noticed that my vehicle might still be under warranty, and instead of just going ahead with the work and charging me for a job, they called me up to let me know, in case I could get the job done for free. I never even thought about the manufacturer warranty and when I contacted the dealership, my vehicle was, in fact, still under warranty! They pulled my car out of the garage and didn't charge me a dime! This experience just further shows how trustworthy this place is, and that they don't just try to make money off of you. This place is awesome! I shopped around to get my breaks fixed and this place was the most affordable. While here, my check engine light was on so I went ahead and got it tested. There is a fee for this by if you get it fixed, they waive it. Well turns out I needed about $3,000 repair and I had already mentally prepared myself that I would get it fixed. Well the guy calls me while my breaks are getting done and turns out it's covered under an extended warranty through my vehicles manufacturer! Boy, was I happy I got to save this money I didn't have. I am so thankful that these people have values and aren't after your money. Had it been another place they would have definitely not taken the time to call around and if they did they wouldn't have cared and still taken my money. I have been coming here over 3 years and I always receive exceptional service and I am greeted with professionalism and patience from Josh, the Manager of this location. My only concern is, I do notice they are short staffed as the Manager/Josh is handling all issues/concerns/calls and walk-ins on top of his Techs. I noticed this the few times I have showed up and what seem to be busy mornings. As a person who has worked in Customer Service, it would probably help if there were an additional Staff member to alleviate his duties so that he can assist customers as he provides his knowledge with them to address their concerns. We were sent here from Discount Tire after the Totyota dealer broke the wheel stud while changing a tire on my daughter's car. They were very attentive to the unfortunate situation we were in and got the wheel studs fixed in just over an hour and also did it for a price that was very fair. I have been a customer of this shop for over 7 years. This shop has grown so busy, they will rip you off. Robert and Eric are both very acquainted with how to overcharge and provide extremely bad service. Reliable Auto does not fix the problem, they only make it worse by breaking other parts and lying about their work. Don't waste your time with this place. They already have too many sucker, mechanically non-inclined, customers to deal with. This place must make a few million a year over-charging customers. I hope that this review helps to slow down their work load so they can properly fix vehicles. They literally got into an argument with me about their work while I was only courteous and polite and told me, "I hope your car gets fixed." These people will tear your vehicle apart and laugh. I had driven past this repair shop for the last year, and decided to stop by one evening to get an estimate for an oil change. It was late in the evening, and they were closing, so I was told to return the following day. As instructed I presented the following day. Upon my arrival, I was assisted by a very nice young man. He and the manager (Josh)provided excellent customer service. I had a very good feeling about the shop. Hence, while in the waiting area, I inquired about the shop to a few of the customers. To my surprise all of the customers were in praise of the shop's workmanship, and honesty. I was impressed, especially having such bad experiences with various automotive shops unscrupulous work ethics. Thus far, I will have them take care of my automotive needs. Reliable is indeed that! This shop is right down the street from my house, well staffed, friendly, and honest. I've brought my car here numerous times for oil changes and they always do a full check (FREE!) to make sure everything's running correctly, especially when I mention that I'm getting ready to make a trip to South FL in the car. Robert at the front desk is always friendly and is quick to answer any questions. To elaborate on honesty, I'm a mid-20's woman with NO knowledge of cars. I can drive, I know how to pump gas, i can play with the radio. That's about it. So when I noticed that a puff of blue smoke would appear just after starting the car in the morning (not any time after that, just after the car had been sitting for a while), i took it to Reliable and asked them to check it out. After leaving it with them for a few hours, Robert called to tell me that they'd checked what they could and couldn't figure out what was wrong with it because, like I said, it doesn't smoke except for the first time you turn it on, so they couldn't see where there was a leak. He said that, after the check, there wasn't anything wrong with the car that they could see and that, eventually, the problem would get worse and then they'd be able to see what the issue was and fix it and the best thing for me to do would just be to wait. How's THAT for honesty? No "oh you need $1000 worth of stuff done" or anything! Also, when i came to pick it up, they didn't even charge me for the hour or so of labor that was done to check the thing out! They just sent me on my merry way. THAT, friends, is what keeps me coming back to Reliable. They've also counseled my boyfriend, a car guy, on a few issues he's had with his truck for free. Wow. Seriously nice, honest guys here. See previous review. Visit #2 - Inspection was in-out really fast which was awesome AND I got to use a coupon that came in the mail (more of those please!). Visit #3 - a piece inside my door handle broke off inside my door. Called and got an approximate estimate from Eric (sp?) who was very upbeat and nice on the phone. My husband took my car over there for me at 8:00 am the next morning to get repaired. Eric told him the part would be delivered and my car should be done by noon. That was great because I had a 2:00 pm doctor's appointment on the other side of town. Noon rolled around, however, and we were surprised we had received no call. I needed to know what was going on because of my appointment. Eric was at lunch when my husband called and found out from the person that was left in charge of the phones (who shall remain nameless) that the part had not even arrived. My husband asked why we had been told that the car would be ready by noon then. At this point all the guy needed to do was to say, "I'm sorry, I'll call the parts people right away and find out what's going on and call you right back." First off, it would have been nice if they had done that BEFORE noon. Instead he got all bent out of shape and said something to the effect of, "If you don't believe me (I guess that the part wasn't there?) you can call them yourselves!" which I think was totally out of line. There were a few more words exchanged between the guy and my husband and then my husband got put on hold while the employee called the parts people. I would like to interject here that it seems like these auto repair shops (based on experience in review #1 and this review) are at the mercy of the parts runners which I can't fault them for but the customer should still be kept informed if things are running late. Quick summary to the end: I got on the phone and when the employee took me off hold he had information - the part runner was still nowhere near Perry Road - the employee told the part's place he had an "angry" customer so they were sending someone else directly over there with the part. I had to reschedule my doctor's appointment and thank goodness they didn't charge me for it. They called back pretty quickly after that and said the car was done. Eric was back from lunch and all was well when I picked up the car. I'm leaving the 4 star review because they still did a good job at a reasonable price but SOME of the employee/customer interactions are not the best. I would LIKE to give a FIVE STAR because they gave me husband a ride back to our house (less than a mile away) that morning. I was supposed to pick my husband up after he dropped my car off but the key to his car at home was IN my car - yes, one of THOSE situations. I was going to call Uber to pick up my husband but they offered to run him home which was AWESOME! Thank you for that Reliable.
