I have been taking my vehicles to honest-1 for a few years now, and I'm realizing that I've never given a review. These guys are awesome! They are exactly exactly what their name says. They are honest and, in my opinion, absolutely number one. They have always been more than fair in pricing, but even more than that, they have always been straightforward with my vehicles have never pressured me to do anything that I didn't feel was necessary. They've always been good to give me a plan for what might need attention down the road, but never tried to sell me on service I didn't need. Never once have I ever felt like I've been taken advantage of. That goes the same for my wife. I have a classic 1997 Ford F150 and about four years ago I got some brake-work done by another mechanic in town. When I got the vehicle back, the brakes were worse than before! After going back multiple times to make it right, I finally washed my hands and walked away. I went to TWO other recommended mechanics after that to tried to get the situation correctly diagnosed and resolved. Both places said nothing was wrong even after a test drive with me in the vehicle each time. I started to think that it was just the fact that my truck was older. But after going to honest-1 for other things like oil changes and some engine work, I told them about my brakes situation. They took a look and found the problem in no time. And in just a few hours, they had me back on the road and now my brakes work beautifully!! Smooth and controlled! Just like they're supposed to be. Anthony and the team at Honest-1 are phenomenal. I'm giving 5 stars and I didn't get work done. I took my car because it was leaking coolant and oil. Long story short, apparently the amount of oil consumed is normal for my car. The coolant leak is from an auxiliary radiator. I drive a CTS-V, so its not your basic cooling system. They were honest with me and said they have never changed that system on a V and wouldn't feel comfortable doing so. They could have easily just winged it just to get my money. But, they were honest about it and didn't even charge me for diagnosing the issue since they couldn't work on it. Definitely taking my other cars here when they need something. read more

Dishonest-1 -They overcharge -Claimed to give me a brand new ac-compressor but it was rebuilt (used) back in 2021 -paid $1200 for replacement thinking it was new just for it to go out this month (3 years later) - it's now past warranty and I have to replace it for $1400 from a different place that I know and trust -a brand new compressor typically last 10 years, ridiculous! read more

I don't recommend anyone going there unless maybe an oil change is needed...Don't take car if repairs are needed. They will overcharge for unnecessary work. read more

My mom and I came here for the first time looking for an auto repair shop because the AC in her car was having issues. Joe was great, he made the experience a positive one. He would come to us with updates along the way to let us know what was going on with the car and that was appreciated. I definitely feel like this place was honest, it was priced better than the other places we got quotes at and they did a good job on my moms car. We came here based on the reviews I read on google and overall we're happy we ended up coming here. Their lounge area is nice, they provide water, a variety of snacks, WiFi and a small kids area. The staff is personable and friendly, and the work I needed to be done was completed quickly and at a good price. The waiting room is very clean, pleasant, and comfortable, set up almost like a large livingroom. I had recently relocated back to Houston, and was referred to Honest-1 by my mom. She uses them for the same reasons I listed. Many places would try to rook a retired widow, but Honest-1 has always treated her well. This is the ONLY mechanic shop I have ever actually liked to go to. Let me tell you, the name doesn't lie and neither do the reviews. These guys always help me out, the manager Taylor is always cool to me and just straight up. It's been multiple times now that I just wanted to get something small checked out and they don't even charge me cause he literally says they just wanted to check it and make sure it's safe for me, which shows they don't care about the $. The place is always clean, and the waiting area is nice with a tv on playing some local channel for you, plus they have free WiFi and a few laptops for you to use. Overall like I said, this is the only mechanic I've never dreaded to go to just because they seem like honest people here. My ONLY complaint is that this business needs to update its online business hours on google because I intentionally woke up early this last visit at 7AM to get there first thing in the morning but turns out they actually open at 8AM so just keep that in mind. read more

Honest-1 Auto - name says it all I don't post many reviews but this company is getting a 5 Star review and write up from me on every forum. Took my truck to them for AC issue - ac fan out / Dodge has shroud wrapped around requiring either to cut the shroud - or discharge the system. They discharged and recharged - without upping the original part replacement quote. A month later - my truck lost acceleration and threw codes - intermittent problem- by the time i got to Honest-1 Auto - truck was working again - needless to say - a difficult electrical problem to locate since it was not happening all the time - originally thought it was coming from gas pedal sensor but after ordering and replacing - they found it still was having issues. Here is the most important part: Instead of leaving that part in - and charging me for it, along with the actual sensor that was causing the problem. They removed it - found and fixed the bad sensor that was causing the intermittent 5v short problem. And wound up charging 100$ less than originally expected. I have lived in Houston all my life - been to many mechanics-these guys ARE Honest and Fair. 100% recommended. Needless to say - i am back again today - getting my oil changed and alignment. read more

At the end of it all the Auto Care charged me $73 and no real service was performed. $73 dollars was not such a fair price. Where's the Honesty I'm that? I'm open to discuss fairness! I was broke down in North Houston.AAA recommended them they said they could fix my truck for 6000 then became 9000 went back to Houston from West Fort Worth, got my truck made it home barely check engine light came on and then they said that they weren't responsible for other things that went wrong for 9000 they could've put in a new engine but refused to make it right for what I paid. I don't recommend this auto repair service. Not sure they know what they are doing. Anther Honest 1 said they should of never tried to fix the truck and should of put in another engine. Which they said they put in a used engine eventually but you would've think for $9000 the truck would've never had any issues for at least 36,000 miles not 300 miles. They never made it right. I go two years without getting an oil change or getting any work done in general. I feared most auto shops and the dealership like a dentist visit. But, with a great big move in the near future and driving my car 1,500 miles, I knew it was time. Time to visit the car doctors. I found recommendations of this place through Nextdoor (the friendly neighborhood drama suspicious people missing pets app) and Yelp. Everyone was blown away with their customer service and how well they were treated in general. So I decided to take a chance! I rolled up without an appointment or any clue what I needed done. Taylor was able to squeeze me in and asked if I didn't mind waiting an hour or so. Heck, waiting here was waaaaaay better than the long grueling hours at the DMV and social security office. (Sigh.) After filling out my information sheet, I initially asked for an oil change and explained the strange situation of my AC being wonky. Yes, I've been semi driving around without a working AC in HOT Houston. They were quite perplexed about the AC issue, but decided to take on the challenge! Could they be my car's knight in shining armor? Well, let's just say I needed way more than an oil change! I had a few other issues and my AC problem was finally solved! Wow! What really blew my mind is that they took the time to explain the issues and show me! I have never been to an auto shop where they walk you outside and physically point out the problem. Majority of us have just been handed a paper and mindless information. Oh no, not here! They explain every detail and don't push extra work on you! Now the ultimate question? What was the price? Let's just say it was waaaaaay cheaper than the VW dealership. I used my AAA card and got an extra 10% off. They didn't push me to repair it either. They let me take my time and call to consult my family. In the end...I said "YES!" to all the repairs! They did the repairs the day of and I got to take it home the next day. Speedy service! New automotive repair in Copperfield just south of Loganbaugh on east side of Hwy 6. Nice location and very clean!!! The front desk person was the owner. Very professional who knows customer service. We went over the history of my vehicle and after the technician reviewed vehicle, there were some maintenance items I will need to do. That said, they do not push extra work items like most shops where the desk help gets paid commission to offer...I liked that! They have free bottle water, snacks and a spacious waiting area with a big screen tv. Also they have free internet for all your electronic devices. I really appreciated the truly "honest" review and maintenance needed on my vehicle. They have been open from November 2016 and will be there a long time if they continue to treat their customers so well!!! When I sat in the car, they had a complimentary pen and a card thanking me for allowing them to service my vehicle...Again nice touch of customer service!!! read more

I am really glad that I tried this place. I have been burned before by "professional" auto repair places, but this place is different! When I walked in, I was promptly greeted by the very friendly staff. They seemed to actually care about the issue I was experiencing with my truck. When they identified the issue, they took the time to explain the problem, showed me what was causing it and explained what options I had. They had free snacks and coffee and the waiting area was nice and clean. They got me in and out pretty quickly and without the hassle I have experience at the other places nearby. I booked an appointment today for an oil change. I got there a few minutes early and checked in. I greeted Joe and said-it's better early than late. He made a sarcastic remark saying, no , it just means you will have to wait here longer . I waited, and waited, and waited. 2 hours later, I was done- FOR an oil change. When I asked what was taking so long , he said that it takes them an hour to do an oil change. This was after I had been there almost 2 hours. It will be my last time to do business there. Brian and his crew are the best!!! I however am sometimes lacking sense. I was on a job site and had an issue with my vehicle, I had it towed to Honest-1 and within 30 minutes they explained clearly that my ignorance was to blame for my auto issue and there would be no need for further repair. The fact that it cost me $150 for the tow was less humiliating when they wouldn't accept payment for the lesson they taught me. I am blown away at their knowledge base and incredible integrity.
