From his demo crew who are so upbeat and polite, to his PMs Mikhail (Misha) and Jesse, to his fantastic electrician Andrii and Jose the do-everything handyman, it was a pleasure working with him and his crew. I have wholeheartedly recommended Reliable Construction to my friends. For detail, I had Ilya add a steel beam, several posts, add a new bathroom, remodel my kitchen and bathroom to the studs. They were very efficient, detailed and considerate, even helping with small errands like return a large exhaust fan to UPS when the original one sent was dented. Their experience shows throughout the process, and I felt respected and confident, even though this was my first major renovation. The project took slightly longer than estimated, but when I told Ilya that I had a relative who needed to move in with me, they moved heaven and earth to finish within a week. That said, they still continued to address small concerns after the fact, like painting the outside where an old electrical panel was moved, helping to repaint a small deck where lots of foot traffic had worn away the paint and now fixing a large drain pipe that has been leaking (note that the plumbers they sub to - Perez - are not my favorite). For costs, Reliable are quite reasonable with a warranty that they stand behind. Ilya will always go above and beyond to ensure his clients are satisfied with the work delivered. It's super hard to find trustworthy and quality contractors who also have availability, so I felt fortunate that Reliable was recommended to me by my real estate agent friend. Ilya and his team did such a great job with our bathroom remodel several years ago that we asked him to remodel our kitchen and completely redo our leaky old front stairs this summer. After the intense rain storm that hit SF early this year, I discovered two leaks that were the result of some shoddy work near the foundation of my house, and some masonry on an outdoor deck where water was expected to have been leaking. This lead to leaks below the deck (internal living space) and caused some ceiling damage. Because his crew has so much experience, they can deal with any issue that comes up during construction. I used Reliable Construction for a remodeling project of 2 units house. While the initial selling process was impeccable and communication is constant, the rest is mediocre at best. The price initially was quite high compared with other quotes. However, I chose to pay a premium for what I thought to be a fast and reliable service. I wish I knew better, and so much for "reliable".. This company is everything but reliable. Price ended up being about 50% higher than quoted with multiple change orders and completion time was about two times the original estimate. A major part of the work is being outsourced to low-quality sub-contractors and there is very little accountability. It seems that the company cares only about how to get new clients, and once a contract is signed, a poor job is being delivered.
