Terrible experience with this place... bought a used car with under 80K miles, so we also got an extended warranty. It's broken down four times (and in some repair shop) or has been limping along with our own pseudo-repairs via Google searches (because their warranty doesn't cover anything) for the last two months since we've bought it. They tell us to contact someone to help us, but after many attempts they don't respond to our phone calls or emails. I had an awful experience at reliable Hyundai. I specifically told the technician my front right tire kept going flat. They said they would take a look at it. Then two days later went completely flat. I had to go to big to get it fixed. When I called reliable Hyundai, the manager blamed me and said it was my fault. His technician didn't write it on his iPad. They then promised me they did a tire rotation however it was still the front right tire that went completely flat. The manager was extremely rude unhelpful and told me he didn't want my business. I will never go back. read more

I then took my car to the appointment and when it was done they had done a tire rotation and balance and charged me for it. I do not understand when I make the appointment and put what I want done why you all just did what you wanted to anyway and then charged for it. He presented an offer on our vehicle, which is in better condition than those we were looking at, that was absolute insulting and disrespectful. The car needed attention right off the lot. The oil turned to sludge within the first 1000 miles and needed constant oil checks. I had the "piston soak" done elsewhere and it sorta made it better. It now uses about one quart of oil every 1000 miles and the oil hasn't turned to sludge yet. I think this is dangerous, if I hadn't meticulously checked the oil the motor could have dried up and seized. Unfortunately I had researched the car before buying it, it sounded like a good deal so I bought it. I wanted my Buick back right away, but they had already sold it. I do not believe the sales people were unaware of the oil problem. I had asked for a warranty at purchase but they said it doesn't come with one. I found out later I could have purchased a warranty on the sale date only. Watch out for these fast talkers. read more

My daughters car would not start on Jan 30 and she called. Being she is in Springfield for college and we are not close we had it towed to Reliable Hyundai to see what the issue was. Ryan sent me a link to what was wrong and the work was over 4,000. When I told him I could not afford to pay that much can we just try to give it a tune up and see if that would help and he said it wouldn't that the Cam needed to be fixed or it wouldn't run. I said we would just pick it up and he then said well what can you afford I will talk to my manager. I said no we will just pick it up. When my husband showed up to get the car he was treated rudely by Ryan and when asked if it would start to get on the trailer he stated he couldn't get it to start, however he sent me a video of the car running earlier in the day. I have currently taken it to 2 mechanics here in our home town and both of them stated the only thing that was wrong with it was he coolant leak that that Reliable stated. The repairs cost me $102. I have always received excellent customer service, and I have had complete confidence in the service reps. Now that I have moved to Springfield, this is no longer the case. Questionable service, and extremely poor communication. This is NOT a place I would recommend to anyone. It is the only Hyundai dealership in the area, so I will be forced to go outside a Hyundai service department. Recenty moved to the area, drive a 2017 Sonata SE, with less than 68,000 miles on it, and have loved it. Noticed a few months ago that it was low on oil, so I added a quart, then another, then another! No drops on my painted garage floor, or under the car in any parking spot, no visible exhaust. Drove it for a few hours again, and it was down again. So, since engine and drivetrain are under warantee, I want to get this fixed. Reliable is the only dealership in the area, tried to scheduke service. The on-line route showed no openings until late May! tried to set up an appointment then, if I have to wait. every date and time came back, when trying verify, that it was no longer available. So, called the toll-free 877 number. The robot couldn't recognize "yes", or "2017 Hyundai Sonata", or other voice replies. I ended up beinbg forwarded to a tow company. Had to start over again. The robot stil couldn't understand voice replies, but after much struggle, finally was told that there was an opening first thing in the morning. BUT, we have a conflict with tomorrow. So tried asking for an opening in 2 weeks, when we are clear for leaving the car for a couple of weeks, as needed. Robot refused to allow anything but "0:30 tomorrow", and transferred me to "a real person", that wasn't answered, and tried to start over. Although we've had great experience with Hyundai in the past, as long as we live in the SPringfield metro area, we will have to buy another vehicle make, and not one sold by "Reliable". read more

The sales team helped us find what we were looking for, and what was in our price range. The service department is amazing as well. Another customer was having major issues, and the service manager was in the waiting area updating him every 10 minutes, and trying to accommodate any needs the customer might have. We paid the additional money for the coverages and protection plan. But now that we need to use the service, no one will return our calls. I spoke with service advisor Sarah R. On October 31, 2024 I told her I was looking for a tuneup for my 2015 Sonata, I had to have an injection cleaning done at the same time. I advised her that my past experiences with reliable Hyundai were less than ideal and I stopped using their dealership in 2021 for my service needs due to terrible experiences by the current administration. there she told me she has been with reliable Hyundai for approximately three months and I told her I have Noticed huge turnaround in their area of the dealership. I told her I would be giving reliable Hyundai a second chance I arrived for my appointment on November 5 at approximately 0900. Sarah approached me outside of my car and said you're here for a four wheel alignment. I immediately became disgusted, and I said no I am here for a tuneup she goes oh I just saw The number for getting the reason why I was there completely wrong. I immediately told her, but that's part of the problem at this dealership is that they get the aspect of the service I requested wrong. I gave her my key fob. she told me she needed the key ring that's attached to the key fob and I told her no you're not getting it for security reasons. I told her specifically that every other place I have been to to have my Hyundai serviced has never requested the keys to my house and other keys regarding security of firearms again she looked disgusted, and I walked away from her. She had a disgusted look on her face probably shouldn't be working there. What was supposed to take two hours took much less than two hours. The mechanic left the plastic seat, cover on the driver seat and should have taken that off when exiting the vehicle so I had to rip it off the seat, as well as the mirror tag and throw it away in their trash again attention to detail. And as usual, whoever the mechanic was that operated the vehicle changed settings in my headlight control to off. It was a rainy day I paid my bill, got back on the road and realized that they didn't put the Settings back where they belong after they changed it. This is an ongoing problem with this dealership lack of attention to detail. This dealership needs to do a lot of work to regain the trust of the clientele that use them not only in the sales department, parts department and service department. I went for an oil change and while there told them there was a plastic part laying under the passenger seat and i didn't know what it is or where it belongs- I noticed this a few days prior while vacuuming my car. I was told it was a vent and they could put it back in place for 160.00. I declined and said I would google it and figure it out. I got home and looked under the drivers seat to see if it had the same part- yep. I saw how it was attached and put the other one on. It just snapped in place and took one second. The vacuum hose could have displaced it or a child sitting behind the passenger seat kicking their feet. This was the second oil change since I bought my new car that came with free oil changes for 3 yrs or 3600 miles. They were supposed to rotate my tires but did not. It is part of Hyundai's maintenance schedule but I was told they didn't need to be. At the first oil change they replaced my ac filter and charged me over 100.00 for this 15.00 part that takes about 3 minutes to replace. I drove off and noticed my ac wasn't working right- making a noise and the air wasn't as forceful. I returned to have them look at it. The service guy told me "something was stuck in it" I asked what and he hesitated and then said " a leaf" I don't think so. I wont be back for the free oil changes. I'll pay for them somewhere else and will save money in the long run. read more

We received a call about an hour later saying job was complete, when we arrived we were told replacement part was damaged and would need to be reordered. One: is there only one available part in the building, two: why were we told job was complete? When app was made I was told I would receive an confirmation email, I called back and was told there was no record of an app so we had to make another app, never received email confirmation. In January we ordered a Palisade from another dealer as you are not selling for MSRP (although we tried and this sants fe was bought new through you Feb 2015)and will have 3 year complimentary maintenance. Why should I even consider bringing my new car to you?! Horrible service department. Apparently theres only 1 person who will actually have details about your car being serviced, and if he happens to call out sick you wont hear anything about your car until you call to ask about it, get transferred 6(!) times in one phone call, only to get told that the car you brought in for a transmission problem needs its fuel injectors cleaned For those reading this who arent mechanics, the fuel injectors arent in any way, shape, or form connected to the transmission Service techs also lied about taking the car on a test drive to diagnose the problems, as proven by GPS logs. After showing up to the dealership to demand the return of my car, after calling to schedule a pickup was met with resistance, when my car was finally returned to me the battery was completely dead, couldnt even start it to leave the parking lot, something that the 'mechanic' who inspected it prior to returning it somehow failed to realize. Turns out that the 'mechanic' who inspected my car somehow damaged the heated seat on the drivers side, causing it to constantly be on until the fuse was removed After being asked by the service department manager to give them another chance so the 'shop foreman' could take a look at it, i agreed to drop my car off at 7am so i would be able to make it to work on time. I showed up promptly at 7am, and it took 20 minutes for the manager to finally get my car processed in, nearly making me late for work. The 'service' on the second appointment consisted of the 'shop foreman' disconnecting my insurance tracker, burning through half a tank of gas that wasnt replaced, before finally claiming that there was no problem At the end of this 2 week ordeal, my car still has a shudder in the transmission at certain speeds, and the dealership has signed me up to be on a spam email list to blast my inbox with their service coupons. As they cant even be trusted to not lie about a test drive, i wont be taking advantage of a $10 off brake service coupon. All we needed was the passenger side door handle fixed and all we got was the run around. Several calls I placed to them I was told I would get a return call and only one person did that. We came in person for them to just have us sitting 40 minutes or so to say they ordered the wrong side door handle after no call back and the initial first time coming there they did nothing but had us sitting that day as well. BEWARE OF DOING BUSINESS WITH THE SERVICE SIDE. They have poor communication skills and seem to just not really care. read more

Went in for a simple oil change, apparently needed a wheel alignment for $140, ok that fine I'll pay for that no problem. Got the car back almost 3 hours later and as soon as I pulled out and came to a stop at the light the car made a horrible noise, definitely not something that had happened before the service appt. I brought it back immediately and waited another hour while they checked it out again. Apparently my brake pads and rotors are also bad and that's what caused the noise. Strange, since this issue didn't arise until after my oil change and wheel alignment, and wasn't brought up during the initial inspection. And now they want $800 to fix this new brake/noise issue that I got in the last 4 hours while the car was being worked on. read more

Let me start by saying sales was absolutely phenomenal. Our experience there was absolutely amazing. Then we went to the finance department, they made me see nothing but red and I wanted to walk out without a car. It was high pressure, I typically don't buy the MPP "extended warranty" with a new car but this apparently was not acceptable. Our F and I guy had to get his director on the phone, Well...this is where things went really bad. As they were talking on the phone The Director made a very unprofessional and highly inappropriate comment that my daughter and I could hear, along with his comment about "not repeating the sh!t" he says out loud. Worse F and I experience of my life. I typically trade every couple of years.....just marked this dealership off my list. A nice trip to KC or STL will be in order for my next purchase. read more

Called them 6/16 and they could not find key had me call the tow truck guy who stated he put key where they said to. Tried to call back and no answer. Called 6/17 and they had not found key. They called 6/18 found key. Weekend 6/19 and 6/20 so nothing. Called 6/21 and my technic is "out". Call 6/22 said technician still out. Told they might look at it by end of week. Asked to speak to a manager they had me leave message. Called 6/23 and left message for Robert someone. He also did not return call. It is now Friday, June 25 NO CALLS FROM ANYONE YET. I went in for a routine oil change on 12/15/2022 and they told me I needed a head light replaced because it had water in it. So I agreed and they told me I would have to come back when it came in from them having to order it. When it came in they called me to being it in for them to fix it and was told it wouldn't coast anything after they were finished I came to pick up my car and found it trashed leaves and dirt all in the seats, center console the glove box was open and everything was rummaged through and half in the floor. The center console was also open and things were moved around. when I called them to see why it was left like this the guy (can't remember if his name was Andrew or Anthony) told me he was sorry and offered me a free detail next time I came to get an oil change. Since then my car has been acting up and not starting some days also the push to start button gets stuck and won't move unless I press it multiple times, when I went back for an oil change and told them about the free detail they didn't have any information on it and told me that I could get one but it wouldn't be free. I asked to talk to the manager and was given the run around and was ask on why I needed to talk to the manager when the dude at the service desk could help me. So I just walked out and called to see if I could be transferred to the managers office to reach him I was then asked before transferring me to the manager all these questions on why I needed to speak with a manager. After leaving a detailed voicemail for the manager (Ryan Niffen) to return my call and how I was not satisfied with any of the services I had done I never got a call back or even a follow up on anything and this was 1/25/2023 I've taken it there three other times after this to see why my car still is having these problems and every time they "look" at my car they tell me there is nothing wrong with it. I've shown them videos of what happens when it happens and still they tell me there is nothing wrong with it and it's probably just a user error. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. I dropped my car off with the dealership on 7/11/2023 and have yet to receive my car back. I was told on 7/18/2023 that the part was received, and it would be a quick install, approx 4 hours. Since then, the communication has been scarce, at best. As of today, I still do not know when I will be getting my car back. When asked why the communication is so bad, the response was "Well, we're busy and I don't have time to respond." Really? That's how Reliable is going to choose how to treat customers? I understand being understaffed and busy and being the only Hyundai dealer in this area, but give me a break. I will not be bringing my car back to this dealership for any reason. I will drive out of my way and either go to Joplin or go down to Arkansas. All I'm asking is for HONEST communication and for someone to take responsibility. Neither has happened, and my educated guess tells me that will not happen. For others who have a Hyundai, save yourself and take your car somewhere else if you can. I would never recommend this location. I wish I could give more than five stars!! I found a preowned Hyundai online that I was interested in so I contacted their pre-owned center and spoke with Adam aka "Cowboy". I told him I wanted to do all the financing online so it would save me some time. He got back with me quickly and had a financial package put together for the vehicle but told me I may do better on a brand new one as the rebates were good and the interest rate would be lower. He was right! He referred me to Wes in new cars who was awesome! They got us in a brand new Elantra for $10 cheaper per month than the preowned one we were looking at. Also, Darrell in finance was great too! I truly felt like they had my best interest in mind. If you're looking for a car I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Reliable Hyundai!!! read more

Had my daughter's car repaired here because she is in Springfield for school and I wanted the necessary repair done right. I knew I would overpay by taking it to the dealership but was willing to do it for the peace of mind. That was a mistake. The repair which I could have had done for about $500 elsewhere cost me over $1000. Additionally she had to take it back within 3 days because the serpentine belt was squealing so badly. They "fixed" it again, apparently by loosening the nut on the idler pully. That nut vibrated completely off less than 5000 miles later and the repair totally failed and I was right back to square one. Called the dealership multiple times and never could get a service advisor to talk to me on the phone. The receptionist apparently sent them an email and they never contacted me. So I had to have my 76 year old father fix it. At least I know it's done right now. The only nice thing I can say about this experience and this place is that the young lady that answers the phone is super friendly. She can't help with a darn thing but I guess at least it's something. Research other options and stay away from this outfit. read more

My dearest grandmother came to visit for the holidays, sadly her car broke down while in town and it had to be towed here to be worked on. Everyone we've talked to so far is extremely unprofessional and unhelpful. We have called multiple times, they won't even tell us what is wrong with the car and it's been several days. Every time we call they take our name and number and tell us they will "call us back" we have yet to receive a call back or an update of any sorts. They also got snippy with my grandma when she tried to contact them! Extremely rude to speak to an elderly lady in a hateful way! Hope to never have to deal with this place again and hope other people don't fall into the trap of working with them. read more

We bought a vehicle in may 2019 after a few months tried to take it for service. No help no one to take care of the problem and let us drive away in a unsafe vehicle. If you want a Hyundai or any other vehicle that this company sells I would recommend to go anywhere else. You can never get a proper answer on anything. Your lucky if you can get them even to answer the phone. Oh but once they get your phone number or emails they will dog you even if you ask them not to call or contact. The service dept (along with the Mazda) is a joke with agents that do not know anything other then to make an appointment. I have had an on going issue with a defective part and called Hyundai Corp and they said the dealer would help. When I explain the issue, to this dealer service dept, they said they didn't know anything and could do a diagnostic (for a significant fee) before they could even fix the issue. I have been calling for a letter recall on the ABS I received. I cannot get anyone to answer and the one agent said they do not know anything about it. They are nice when you buy then become rude, ignoring, won't return a call and do not seem to want anything more to do with you. They are not to be trusted. While vacationing in Branson, my Refill Inverter Coolant light came on on my 2022 Hyundai Tucson hybrid a couple different times. Since we live in central Illinois, I was concerned about driving 6 hours to get back home. I called Reliable Hyundai service department, explained the issue and was told they were booked up til September. Seriously?!! I just wanted someone to check the car over. 15 minutes at most. I told them I would stop in anyway and have someone check it. I was told I could " try". I spoke with 2 different people and neither one seemed to care if I got helped or not. Since my warning light was not on the day we came home, I did not stop. When I got home, I called our local Hyundai service, Bob Brady Hyundai and explained the issue. They had me bring the car in right away in case there was a problem with the hybrid battery. What a difference between these two businesses! I had purchased a car on the 3rd of nov 2021 and for some reason they had to refinance through my bank on the 23rd of nov 2021. They told me to come in and sign the new paperwork and didn't disclose they had removed 2 of my warranties when I had asked them why my payments had gone down by 30 per month. He told me the bank had to reduce the overall amount to get me approved. I went into the office today due to when I reviewed my paperwork it shows that they had removed my warranties covering small repairs and requested they add it or cancel the contract and they told me to wait for a manager that would stop the loan due to it hadn't been funded by my bank. I waited for a hour before anyone asked what I was waiting for and a manager told me they weren't going to stop the loan process and I needed to get out of their office. Terrible customer service. Shady sales tactics by the financial manager. I will be seeking legal council in regards to this bait and switch mentality they demonstrated. read more
