Todd Young really should change the name of his business to include his own. It is his personal integrity, charisma, and work ethic that Make Reliable Roofing the only choice in the Coachella valley. Todd seems to know everybody or somebody who knows everybody in the Valley. This is important because it offers the customer the opportunity to personally investigate the quality of the service. I recommend Todd in my case not for what he did, but for what he did not do. I was ready to be sold an entirely new roof. Todd explained that my current roof was a high-quality product in good condition that absolutely did not need to be replaced. This was news to me. Other roofing contractors assured me that I needed thousands and thousands of dollars in new roofing. Because of the quality of his work, his fair pricing, and his honesty, Todd is often backed up. Since, I only needed minor repairs he was able to arrange for one of his employees subcontractors to take care of the work to his standard in a very timely fashion. I would have to recommend Reliable Roofing without reservation, hesitation or resort to any caveat. While Todd is unlikely to be your lowest bidder, he won't be be your highest either. Only a fool goes with the low bidder in construction. And, choosing the high bidder usually ensures that you are purchasing an expensive advertising campaign, brand new trucks for supervisors, and maybe covering a bar tab or two. Mr. Young will provide you excellent quality at a price of allows him to stay in business and operate within the rules. This is important because accidents happen in roofing. As an attorney, I have seen homeowners face multi million dollar lawsuits arising out of catastrophic injuries that are the unavoidable risk of working in high places. Many roofers keep the prices low by being illegally uninsured. Any homeowner should ask for a certificate of additional insured or proof of insurance from a contractors broker. Mr Young won't try to Talk you out of that step, obfuscate, or lie. While I cannot promise as an attorney that in your case he will be correctly insured. He certainly was in mine. Honesty, quality, and reliability and financial protection are what your low bidder can't provide. Unless you require the Personal prestige of a job site Operating as a parking lot for $70,000 pick up trucks, the high bidder should be reserved for the truly unique craftsman, e.g.. A person trained in an old world building style who is one of two in the state of California. English slate installed in the style of a Tudor King, for example. Todd came immediately the second time I called, they started this large repair quickly. The guys worked very hard and took part of my clay tile roof down several layers. I went up the ladder several times and saw the mess the previous guys had made. Gutters cleaned and wood repairs near the eaves as well as checking flashing and seals near chimneys. I recently noticed a water leak on my garage ceiling and wall. I've been around long enough to know that there is no such thing as a small leak, especially in the desert with predictions of rain coming in a few days. I checked out Yelp and was drawn to Reliable Roofing because the owner had a big smile and his reviews were great. I called the number and Todd, the owner, called me back within 20 minutes. We discussed my problem and said he could come by in 20 minutes. And he did! He brought his ladder and crawled up on my roof, saw the problem. While he was on the roof he checked my entire roof and suggested a plan of action to solve my problems. With the forecast for 4 more days of rain coming in the next week we agreed on a plan. He had his craftsmen on the roof the next day at 7 AM and finished the next morning, They craftsmen did great work and were tidy and neat. Ok. So here I am again. Writing a review to let other people know that when you have Reliable on your side (when it comes to your roof) you are going to be covered. I see that below there's a 1star review and complaints about Todd/the company not getting back to the customer. My experience has been the complete OPPOSITE. Today I texted Todd about coming back to look at something because after the intense rain last week there was a teeny tiny trail of water coming down our wall. Todd had come out and done an insanely thorough re-roofing job a few months ago and like always he was responsive, enthusiastic and caring - meaning he takes tremendous pride in his work and also in his business' reputation. They did a little fix today and we will see what happens after the next rains. Basically we are working together to determine where the mystery leak may be stemming from. Also, I see a ton of other 5star reviews which is what attracted me to Reliable Roofing when I was initially doing my research to find a good roofer. I am always suspicious of full 5 star reviews and assume that perhaps the company 'pays' or offers discounts to clients who post positive reviews. (my dentist does this and although the dentist has been great, I'm not posting because I'd be wanting to be transparent and declare that I was getting discounts for posting Yelp reviews). Anyway... I am NOT getting paid or getting discounts for this review. Todd is just one of those business people who make me want to help other good clients find him. I'm also in business and have clients and I know there are 'good' clients and 'bad' clients. From the sounds of the review from the 1Star non-customer, Reliable Roofing is just making sure they don't get a bad client. When it rains, roofers are EXTREMELY busy! They have to field calls from their current clients and take calls from new clients as they are able to. As a fellow business person I'd rather help my current clients who are going to refer great business to me first, THEN help the new clients. Prepare for your roof leak before it happens. Can't say enough good things about Todd at Reliable Roofing...I had a smallish roof problem that I needed repaired and Todd got back to me and had his best roofer (Pedro) come to my place within a couple of hours and look at the situation ....He gave me what I thought was a fair price for the repair job, and then came back the very next day and did the job....I know that Todd is EXTREMELY busy right now because of the storm that blew through here a week and a half ago and the large number of people that are calling him because they suffered some sort of damage (as I did), but he was able to take care of me in less than two days!
