One star is too generous for these guys. My car died at my sister's apt and got towed by them. They were doing their job, that part I get, but then they gouge the hell out of you. $200 for tow and 12 hours of storage. Then, since it wouldn't start, they wouldn't let me go in and jump it, and made me pay another $45 to tow it out of their lot and onto the street. I was wrongfully towed from my apartment complex and it took them 2 hours to come to a conclusion with my apartment management and let me leave with my car. They made me stand outside in the 40 degree rainy weather. But that wasn't even the worst of it. My phone died because my charger was in my wrongfully towed car, and I asked them if they could charge my phone for a second or let me borrow a phone to call someone to come pick me up. They said no. When I got emotional and asked if I'm just supposed to stand outside stranded, they closed their window in my face. I literally had no idea what to do or how I would get home. They show up when you call, they pay their towing guys salary so they don't tow just to get money. They have dash cams and take pics for every tow to show legit tows. Absolutely horrible. This is not the first time I've dealt with a towing company but this is the worst experience I've ever had. My BRAND NEW (as in I literally got it yesterday) car was towed last night and when I came to pick it up the battery was dead. They claimed that I left every single light on in the vehicle and my head lights. Which I know 100% I didn't do as it. And when I asked for proof(pictures before they towed) to show me that my lights were on, the women said that the pictures are company property and refused to give them to me. This company towed my car while governor Abbott declared a state of emergency for the state of Texas. They then closed down (due to snow storm) and I was unable to get my car back for several days. Got ahold of a lady named Lisa, who told us we would only have a 30 minute window to get our car on Tuesday, February 16th. She also told us the total price would be $228.00. We risk our lives to go get my car (which had been towed over 45 minutes away for some reason)... & they tell us to come back in 2 hours because they were late getting to the office. Once we arrived, the two men were fairly nice, but charged us $249.95. They did not charge us for Monday or Tuesday thankfully, but still charged us for Sunday (which they closed at 1:30) and there was no way for me to get my car with ice/snow all over the roads. Not to mention, my car got hit with all this ice and snow.. luckily no damage . Anyways, completely immoral to do this to me during a time like this. Wish people were more caring. read more

I own a roadside assistance company and I get a call from a young lady needing me to meet her at Reliant Towing to jump start her car. When I met her there, they refused to let me in the gate to jump start her car for her. Instead they insisted that she pay them another $45 just to bring her car from behind the gate. My apartment complex uses this towing company, otherwise I would not have contacted them. I spoke with a dispatch person as someone had parked repeatedly in the spot I pay for. The dispatch took my name, phone number, and make and model of the vehicle. He asked that I call if the vehicle was moved prior to the wrecker showing up. I informed him that I wasn't planning on staying in the area all night. About an hour and half later, I receive a phone call from what I can only assume was he cell phone of the driver. He was about 15 minutes out and needed my ID and parking pass. I asked him if I could just send him a picture since I was no longer in the area and he said yes. I texted him a picture of my parking pass, my TXDL, and the truck parked in my spot. I wasn't super comfortable texting my license, but I thought since no one told me it would be needed I would give the guy the benefit of the doubt. Another 20 minutes or so goes by and I get a text saying my signature was needed. I again informed him that I was no longer in the area. He said he would follow up with his manager and that was the last I heard. In the morning I get home to the truck STILL in my spot. Thanks for nothing, Reliant Towing. I'm not here to bash these guys because they're a towing company, in fact they normally do a great job around the apartment complex I live at. My car was towed, wrongly for being in a space that used to be residents( requires a parking permit) the space in question had painted white with resident being barely visible. NBD, my complex got me my car back with no questions because it was a mistake. The reason I am reviewing them is because the driver that towed my car last night also helped himself to my gas stash in my console. And entire tanks worth of money gone in seconds. Total scum, called out one of their drivers for mishandling a car parked at our apartments when trying to tow it for parking in a non-visitor spot, and the driver almost got out to fight me, I'm guessing embarrassment isn't his strong suit even worse is his respect for other people's property. He yanked a car out a spot juddering the wheels across the pavement only before whipping into a parallel position, I'm guessing so he could get a good angle on towing it without putting in the required time to tow in a professional fashion. After calling him out, he pulled up to me and asked "do you have a F*****g problem?!" I knew I wasn't going to get anywhere with the guy so I just said be a professional and respect people's property and moved on, he continued laughing at me as I was walking away like some kind of bully. There was an attempted theft on my car. While the individuals didn't succeed they moved my car out of it's parking space at my apt. complex. It was then towed by reliant because it was blocking traffic and I was not available. When I went to pick up the car I was charged approximately $650 for the tow and a storage fee for approximately 5 days (I was out of town when the problem occurred). I went down and paid the fee. Reliant would not let me bring a jumper pack to start my car into their tow yard. The battery was dead but they would not let me attempt to jump it. They also would not let me sit with the car to go through all of the damage from the attempted breakin. Furthermore they refused to tow the car back to my apt. complex EVEN THOUGH MY APT. COMPLEX CONTACTED THEM AND ASSURED THEM I WAS A RESIDENT AND THAT IT WAS OK. I contacted AAA and they sent a tow truck out to Reliant. Reliant would not allow them to go into the yard and take my car because of a logistical issue with the drivers "tdlr" number. They lady who worked the desk at the time became incredibly hostile with me when I told her how ridiculous this was and then said, "it's not my fault your car got towed." So, I was unable to get it towed and now I have gotten my insurance company involved. They are taking all neccessary action to get my car back to me. Again, I paid an insane amount of money to get it out and that was only the beginning of my problem with Reliant. I lived in Brazil for three years and this was way worse then any third world system I ever experienced down there. This place is a racket and their goal appears to be to get as much money from you as possible and make it very difficult for you to get your car out. I cannot say enough about how badly they treat people and the systems they have in place to get money from people. If you are in an apartment complex in austin like The Camden please be warned. These guys aren't the bomb, but they have shown better customer service than other tow companies I've encountered. James. At the dispatch definitely has been helpful. I have a reserved spot and I occasionally have people who can't read signs and drive. And park in my properly Labeled and marked spot. Then I have to call these guys because certain neighbors choose to disregard the signs put in place to protect them. Okay so it's not to protect them but it is clearly Visible when you pull into the spot. And unfortunately a few neighbors have paid dearly. If you call Reliant they're top notch. First towing company Austin Roadside Service towing never showed up to tow my dead car and after an hour had passed when they said they would be there, we had Reliant towing come and get our car. They showed up when they said they would and were very thorough on making sure they knew exactly where our car was at so they could come and assist as soon as possible. I am very unhappy about an incident that occurred last night involving Reliant Towing. My apartment management uses Reliant as the company to tow illegally parked cars from our complex. We are told when we move in to make certain we are parked in resident parking spaces and that we have proper stickers on our windshields to avoid being towed. Last night, sometime between midnight and 2am, my LEGALLY PARKED vehicle was towed by Reliant. I only found out about this at 5am when I woke up to discover the driver attempting to back my car into the same parking spot. When I questioned him as to what was going on, his response was that "Your car was towed earlier tonight because the *new guy* didn't know this sticker was valid, so I'm returning your car." Firstly, why is a "new guy" out towing cars if he doesn't know what is valid and what is not? This sticker has been on my car for over 2 months now and other cars have them as well. Secondly, they were intending on simply sneaking my car back into the parking spot, hoping I wouldn't notice it had been gone, despite the fact that I would have noticed it was parked backwards now. When I went in today to my apartment office to let them know what had happened and how unhappy I was that their policy is to allow random employees of the towing company decide who gets towed and who doesn't, the complex staff told me that this in not the first instance they have had of Reliant towing someone's car illegally. If I wasn't already livid about having my brand new vehicle dragged out of a parking spot and hauled down the road in the middle of the night only to be "returned" at dawn with no intent to ever notify me or my apartment manager about the mistake, I am now even more upset to hear this isn't the first time with this company! I attempted to call the company today and talk with a manager, but was told by the person answering the phone that "there is no management staff here on the weekends". What business doesn't have a manager on duty during business hours? I was told that both managers would be back Monday through Friday. Not having a manager at hand on a weekend is POOR business practice. I have filed a complaint about this incident with the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration and under the advice of my lawyer, intend to pursue any and all legal recourse against Reliant Towing for their actions and attempt to hide what happened with my car. read more

Either the driver did not care or was a complete moron because he towed my car (which is very low to the ground) without any care in the world if it was damaged during transport. I show up to the towing yard and it's the literal definition of a crack shack from the outside. I speak to the lady upfront and I pay and thought I would be on my merry way but then realize my whole exhaust system is laying on the ground. I was not notified of any damage at all. Clearly the driver knew he had broken it and did not say anything. I went back to ask what happened and was given no answer. My Chrysler 300 limited was towed from my own apartment parking lot. I was told that I was taking two or more spaces. I had no other alternative but to park that way due to the other car parked the same way next to me. When I asked why my car was towed Reliant answered that my cars tire was a little more in the white line. As a result of the tow, the front undercarriage was damaged needing to be replaced. And also, my car made a loud thump when I started it. Since, it has not wanted to start 6 times now for the last 2 weeks ago. I just had my vehicle checked by the dealership 2 months ago. I hired an attorney for the other violations such as not putting the person who called in to have my car towed and entering my car illegally. I must pay for a retainer fee to collect for the damages. My girlfriend an I don't live together so I usually go and spend the night at her apartment complex (Colonial Grand at OnionCreek.) I ALWAYS park in the visitors parking due to the obvious reason that I know I'll get towed. Upon parking there you must also check in in a website (r2park.com). I committed a typo on my license plate upon registering on the website and got my car impounded. I was completely furious but none the less I tried to explain the situation when I got to the towing company. They did not show any type of empathy, or comprehension. On August 2,2020 this company illegally towed- or you could say stole- my fathers vehicle while visiting family at Regency Park Apartments. The visitor car registration form was filled out correctly but the person who stole my fathers vehicle keyed in the incorrect license plate and took the car. When we called about it the lady working hung up on us and then when we arrived, wouldn't let us get the car until she had "management approval"........ the paperwork they had DID NOT match the car they took from us that they were holding in their lot. this place needs to VERIFY LICENSE PLATE NUMBERS before taking a vehicle. I first want to start off by saying Lisa is amazing she's very professional she's very nice she does her job and knows how to do her job very well. I was employed at this place for three months exactly and during my time there was some of the worst experiences that I've ever had at a job. Upon arriving my first and second the office manager propped her foot on the table and showed me her ingrown toenail that was indication one that I should've left.The owners of the company are brothers and well brother-in-law's and Chris is the almost I guess silent partner. Mark however is the one who stays in the office he's there Monday through Friday 4:51 PM no matter what is going on he is definitely always in the office however when people who have sued him or people who are trying to get a hold of him call with important business matters he always tells us to tell them he's not there he does not like paying people what he owes I have misdirected three people on his own account that he was sued by an old money to because he didn't want to pay them. Amongst a range of other issues that I do not agree with as far as customer service rules go this is where it gets pretty intense. About two weeks before Christmas I was sexually harassed by their driver Ray Fletcher who who was fired thankfully he was employed there for five years before I had got there. After he fired him I was very vocal about how uncomfortable I was around him that very same Friday he allowed the driver to come to the office to pick up his check while I was at work at the front desk knowing that I did not want to see him. I spoke to him and told him I did not want to see the gentleman that it was very uncomfortable to me he assured me that he would not be back only to come a week later on a Friday I was working late and my boss was about to leave (Mark) The gentleman showed up to pick up his check he knew my schedule he knew that I would be there from the time that I had arrive till about 8 PM which is why he decided to come up there thinking I would be the only one there however Mark was able to intercept because he was barely leaving as the gentleman was pulling in I'm grateful for that it was not on his own doing it was by coincidence. He came in got his pack gave it to the gentleman and walked out patted me on the back and said this was the last time. That employee had been there five years and so mark our boss was having to work extra shifts fast forward a couple days before Christmas we get a bonus everyone in the office was blessed with a with the bonus mine was $500 I had just started the girl who just started two days before that also got a bonus I accidentally wrote on my check because I was doing a mobile deposit however I wrote on it first and was unable to cash it so I let Mark know and he assured me he could write me a new check. Fast forward a few maybe two weeks later I'm at work doing a 16 hour shift from our Friday Saturday and Sunday all 16 hours I did not have any cash on me because the check that I needed to get re-printed I could not do it yet he had not printed it for me yet so I had no cash I did use $40 out of the gas fun for the drivers to order me something to eat and we're going to definitely put it back the next day I would not be sitting here embarrassing myself thing I sold $40. Only to wake up the next morning to be called into the office and be told well excuse me be cursed out in front of another employee whose name is Lisa the only sane one there and made look like a thief he sat there and cussed at me try to make me cry literally that's when I got up and walked out. Fast forward a few days later it was Christmas and everything I called him to ask him about my check again. He then came up to the window after I was done getting my regular check from him and proceeded to tell me that technically since the check was a bonus I didn't work for it so I didn't earn anything and since I didn't work for it he couldn't reprint it because he couldn't justify it on the books so my bonus was 467 I did not get not one penny of that because he said I did not even earn it and that I was a thief. I said OK and I asked him why he did not relay that information to me the day that I had asked him and he said and I quote well that is neither here nor there. I live in an apartment complex off of Riverside. The other day, at 2 AM, my boyfriend and I were awakened by his car alarm going off. I looked through the window and some idiot was trying to tow his car away. My boyfriend is listed on my lease as a resident. We were not given an extra parking sticker for him by the leasing office. We were also told it would not be an issue for him to park in the parking lot over night. So imagine our shock when we saw some grungy guy trying to basically steal his car with a tow truck. I yelled at the guy that it's my boyfriend's car and he's on my lease. The guy was a real jerk with attitude and said he didn't care, the car had no permit to park. My boyfriend ran outside just as jerkface was about to leave and he managed to stop him. He ended up being forced to pay the jerk $50 so his car wouldn't be towed. The driver claims he had no choice because the car was reported to him. That was a lie, because parking patrol showed up and that person claimed no one had reported my boyfriend's car to them, nor had they called to report my boyfriend's car to the tow company. They had no idea what was going on. Mind you, I've been in these apts since May and there have been no parking issues till now in October. We also realized that that tow guy had to physically get out and walk around to look at parking stickers because all the cars are facing the buildings, and their stickers are in the front windows. So this guy from Reliant Towing, truck number 9, had to be trolling around looking for cars to snatch and make a buck off of. He had my boyfriend by the balls by refusing to let the situation go and releasing his car from the tow truck. So he forced my boyfriend to pay. I double checked today with the leasing office and my boyfriend is indeed on the lease and they were shocked and apologetic that his car was almost towed/stolen. If we had slept through the alarm, he would have walked out in the morning and thought his car was stolen and called the police. We would have no idea what happened to it. I am told the leasing office is trying to get rid of this towing company. They didn't say why, but I imagine it's because they're crooks. And the nasty attitude of the driver...he treated my boyfriend like a criminal...OVER PARKING. These tow truck drivers are NOT traffic cops or even meter maids. They have no business being vultures in apartment complex parking lots. No one asked this guy to tow my boyfriend's car. He did it on his own.
